Perfection!

From planning conversations through receiving our wedding album, our experiences with Joe and Jen were perfect. We booked Joe and Jen Photography back in 2019 to document our engagement and wedding because we love their candid, documentary style. In our early wedding planning conversations, we realized that we wanted our wedding to act as a gathering space; bringing together the most important people of our lives: to laugh, to eat, and to celebrate. We wanted our pictures to serve as memories of our experience and to capture the raw emotions of love and joy - Joe and Jen did just that. Their kindness and appreciation of small moments make everyone comfortable in the presence of a camera.

We ended up replanning our 2020 wedding thousands of miles away from Minneapolis and picked our new date solely based on Joe and Jen’s availability—that’s how essential they were to our wedding! There were many moments throughout our day where both Joe and Jen were able to keep us calm, excited, and present. Forever thankful for Joe’s dad jokes and Jen’s ability to keep everyone on track. When we received our photos (and then our incredible fine art wedding album) we cried. The photos didn’t just remind us what happened on our wedding day, they captured exact moods and the feelings that were present in all of our friends and family. We have so much gratitude for Joe and Jen. We can’t wait to work with them again in the future.

Fun and relaxed and authentic, the necessary balance for a perfect day!

We are SO GLAD we found Joe and Jen for our elopement. They are both so fun and encouraging. Our ceremony pictures were gorgeous, and the pictures with our parents (who do not usually enjoy photos) captured so much character and joy. After the ceremony we had a champagne picnic, and we love those photos and memories so much. They gave us the space we needed to relish the moment, but they also contributed to some of our favorite new memories!

Joe and Jen helped us relax and celebrate our big day, and their photography is beautiful and will help us remember every minute of it forever. We can't wait to book them for a big reception! :)

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was going with Joe and Jen for our wedding photographers! Joe and Jen are a great couple to work with; they are professional and made the entire process very easy. They made taking pictures fun; we were a little nervous at first but Joe quickly put us at ease with his humor. Our entire wedding party had a blast while we were doing the group photos, which was very clear once we got our pictures back! Most importantly, Joe and Jen are truly talented photographers, and we could not have been happier in the end with our photos. I was amazed by the artistic shots Joe took of us as a couple; I honestly thought they looked like pictures out of a wedding magazine and could not believe they were from my own wedding. We also absolutely loved the candid photos of our guests as Joe and Jen captured the raw emotion and joy from our special day. Thank you Joe and Jen for everything; we will cherish our photos forever!

Joe and Jen were incredible to work with. They are super personable, very organized, respond promptly, and extremely talented. Our photos were by far our favorite part of our wedding, thanks to Joe & Jen! They did such a good job at capturing the candid moments and did not make it feel like we were taking a ton of posed photos. They managed to wrangle together big (and loud) families to get group shots, which was very impressive. They also have such a good understanding of lighting and capturing special moments. It was really important to us to have 2 photographers so they could capture different angles of our special day, and what better duo than a husband and wife?! I could not recommend them enough to everyone out there. They are up for any ideas (we did smoke bombs!) and are so fun to work with. We will treasure our photos forever!

Joe and Jen couldn't have done a more awesome job on our wedding. They delivered us 900 amazing wedding prints, leaving no moment uncaptured. Joe had all the tricks to get the kids to smile. Jen made sure we got every shot we requested. Their style is to make you feel very relaxed and get real photos, instead of concentrating on posing your hands the right way and stacking everyone until you get a standard awkward photo. We couldn't recommend them more.

WE LOVE JOE & JEN!! It is so nerve-wracking trying to pick vendors out, and I would say that choosing Joe & Jen is hands down one of the best decisions we've ever made! EVER!! They are so talented, but beyond that they are amazing to work with on so many levels. You feel so important from the first moment you connect with them. They are happy to meet and talk through specifics for your big day, and are even willing to cater their services specifically to you! Joe is willing to go to great lengths to get the perfect shot - literally will go face down on the dirty ground! Even if they've shot in a particular location before, they always find a way to make the photos new and fresh specifically to match you. One of my favorite things about the day of our wedding was doing the wedding party portraits. Crazy, I know! But Joe & Jen breeze through this portion of the day and it doesn't feel like the normal torture that many of us have been subjected to as bridesmaids and groomsmen before. There are not enough nice things to say about these guys - book them and you will be so happy!!

As we started wedding planning, my mom said to me, “Pictures are what will remain years after your wedding day and should be thought of as an investment.” After such a pleasant experience working with Joe & Jen and seeing their BEAUTIFUL work, I could not agree more! Joe & Jen are incredibly organized, responsive and patient - they essentially walked us through the entire process and answered any questions we had promptly and patiently. The survey they send out a few weeks before your wedding day covers EVERYTHING. It was wonderful to have piece of mind that Joe & Jen had thought of everything and importantly were sensitive to blended/divorced families as that can stress out any couple leading up to and the day of your wedding. I could not have imagined hanging out with a better photog duo on our wedding day. Joe & Jen were the perfect combination of keeping to the schedule and just being fun to be around ☺ Our entire family LOVED them and GUSHED over our wedding photos. Charlie and I cannot thank them enough for capturing our wedding day and making us look phenomenal in the process. We highly recommend them!!!

I do not yet have my final wedding photos back, but if they are anything like our engagement photos that Joe and Jen did, I have no hesitation in providing these guys a 5 out of 5 - simply the best! My husband and I met with several different photography studios when selecting our engagement and wedding photography, and my man went to art school and can be an art snob and pretty particular about pictures and photography... Joe and Jen not only met his ridiculously high standard of art aesthetic, they exceeded it :)
Choosing a photographer is such a major decision for any bride and groom, but I urge anyone reading these reviews to please contact Joe and Jen for a consultation - here are just a few things I know firsthand you will receive:
1) Attentiveness - what do you want, how do you want it, they not only ask because it is their job, they ask because they care and want to make sure you are getting everything you want and more on your big day
2) Professionalism - sadly, I was probably not the easiest bride to have worked with because I decided not to eat prior to my wedding and woozy following their ceremony when it was picture time :( Joe and Jen were not only accommodating, they were relentless in their pursuit of getting the perfect shots - even if that meant waiting until I did McDonalds run before the reception and getting better :) These two put in way more time than I expected, and I am so appreciative of their work.
3) High Quality - I am amazed at the quality of work Joe and Jen provide - their pricing is ridiculously reasonable for what you receive. I visited with other photographers that had much higher fees and not even close to artistic style nor expert appearance that Joe and Jen's portfolio demonstrated.
4) ROI - so, based on the above three bullets, what I'm really advocating for is the return on investment you receive with Joe and Jen. You will receive so much more than what you pay for.

Joe and Jen were one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We really liked their packages and after we met them in person - we were sold! I am so thrilled we selected them - they did a fantastic job on our engagement photos. Additionally, Jen was incredible and helped me design our "Save the Dates" and invitations. It was such an easy operation and I was so happy that I didn't need to shop around any further. She listened to what I was looking for and I let her creative juices flow - I was very pleased with the results.

As for the wedding photos - I just knew they would do an exceptional job and they did! They managed to keep my family in order, people smiling and completed the formal photos in a timely manner. They worked so well together and were great with all the little kids in my family. Joe worked his creative genius and came up with some amazing shots. At the reception - they were busy taking photos - but you didn't even realize they were capturing such awesome moments because they blended in well with our guests.

If you want a couple that works well together, makes you feel comfortable, is great with kids and family, and extremely creative - you will not go wrong with Joe and Jen. Bottom line, they are great people, take gorgeous photos, and have fun personalities. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone getting married! Thank you for making everything wonderful. You are awesome!!!!

Unbelievable! This duo was amazing to work with. (It helps that they are in love, they know what to look for and the perfect shots to take!). My husband and I are so happy that we chose Joe and Jen Photography to capture the most amazing day of our lives. Joe and Jen were extremely easy to talk to, they shared ideas, we shared ideas and they were really able to pinpoint exactly what we were looking for. Their turn around was so quick. It was so great to be able to re-live our wedding day through pictures that captured everything both posed and candid. We couldn't be happier. We have run out of wall space to hang all of our pictures! Too hard to pick just a few!

We find it hard to put into words exactly how thankful we are to have had Joe & Jen photograph our October 2014 wedding. Joe and Jen were so professional and helpful leading up to the wedding. They were in touch with us regularly to make sure they had a clear picture of the timeline of our day, important events we wanted captured, and what we were hoping for in our wedding photography overall. On the day of the wedding, they made everyone so comfortable and relaxed with their warmth, kindness, and humor. The whole photography process felt so natural, and we couldn't believe all of the small details and moments these two were able to capture! Since the wedding, we have received so many compliments about Joe and Jen's work. Our pictures are beautiful and unique, a true testament to the passion and creativity of this awesome duo. Joe and Jen were an absolute blast to work with! They are super talented and went above and beyond what we expected. They were flexible with our schedules and they even came to Milwaukee for our engagement session. We were absolutly amazed at how creative they were, and we couldn' be happier with our photos! We loved having Joe & Jen as our wedding photographers. It was like having two friends along for the day. They were super flexible with our requests and made everyone feel at ease. Many of our guests commented they didn't even notice them there.

We can not say enough great things about Joe and Jen Photography! Joe and Jen were so much fun to work with. They made us feel so comfortable from the very beginning and the poses never felt forced. They were able to capture the whole day with a unique and creative flair! We loved that they captured every important moment without us even noticing they were there throughout the reception. Joe had some tricks to get people laughing and was able to bring out the real, genuine emotions of the day. Jen was able to capture all the little details in her shots and we loved that she took photos of all the decor and flowers. We couldn't be happier with the way our photos turned out and would highly recommend Joe and Jen for engagement / wedding shoots.

Joe and Jen were amazing. Two photographers for the price of one. They are a young couple and seriously the SWEETEST people. Your photographers are your shadows for the day, so personality is key. Not only were they incredibly professional, but they received so many compliments from our families for being organized and so so nice.

We cannot say enough about Joe & Jen! They were, hands down, the best decision we made throughout our wedding planning process (besides deciding to marry each other)!!! My fiance did not even want to have engagement pictures taken, and we both are very uncomfortable in front of the camera. Joe & Jen are so professional, yet bring an ease to the process that makes you feel truly comfortable and allows you to enjoy the process with your fiance/spouse.
After our engagement session, we were both sooo excited to have Joe and Jen capture our wedding day and felt so at ease. Joe and Jen's photos are incredibly artistic and unique... I absolutely love the photos they created and captured. You will not find 2 professionals with more vision and creativity than these two!
Besides their incredibly creative and artistic photos, they also have a way of noticing the important moments throughout your day and also taking notice of the most important people in your lives, and capturing these moments and people in such an unbelievable way. I felt as though they knew my whole family and most important people by the end of the day!
My husband also especially loved how efficient Joe was when taking pics... a quick snap and you were on your way! That is so nice on your wedding day.
We feel truly honored to have gotten to know these two and to now call them friends. We will be friends for years. Thank you guys for truly taking the time to get to know our love story and helping to tell that story through the images you captured. You are so caring and truly have a way with people.
I would and will recommend Joe and Jen to anyone and everyone I know!!!

Never felt pressured that we had to have "certain shots" that some photographers do at weddings. Joe and Jen went out of their way to make our day special, and the photos we received were very representative of our Wedding Day; Fun, Expressive and a story of what my wife and I experienced on our day.

What can I say - this duo is clearly the best! Not only are they professional & timely, but fun & easy-going as well. We had a blast during our engagement shoot. We felt so comfortable & almost forgot about the fact we were being photographed (& freezing in 20* temps)! I tear up every time I look at our photos because they capture my fiancé & I perfectly. Our personalities & love for one another are expressed beautifully. Joe & Jen - rock on & keep doing what you do! :)

Joe and Jenna are true artists and professionals. They are so creative and super talented! It was such a pleasure working such fun, hard working individuals. Every interaction we had with the two was a blast. They are timely, flexible, and have such a great eye. All of our wedding guests commented on how great they were! We are so grateful to have such great photos to remember our day and would hire them again in a second!

We used Joe and Jen Photography for both our engagement session and our anniversary photos and absolutely LOVED each and every image from both shoots. Joe and Jen really get to know their couples to bring out their personality during the shoot. My husband and I both don't like being in front of a camera, but Joe and Jen made us both super comfortable and captured us perfectly. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone!

Joe & Jen are the best! They take amazing photos and are so down to earth! I'm so glad we had them as our wedding photographers. Joe is funny and really good at making you laugh genuinely in photos. They make you feel very comfortable in front of a camera and they are very creative.
