One look at his website and you know he has an absolute gift. I have never met someone with such talent, yet an incredibly calm and relaxing personality. Jeff. JLB. JEFF. I cannot believe I was a client of JLB. No like seriously. JLB will take your wedding experience to levels you never imagined could exist. Our wedding felt like a Hollywood movie, straight out of a magazine. While we’re talking with our guests and my mom is gushing on the phone with my grandma overseas Jeff is bouncing in the room taking photos left right and Center. He is so very organized, super duper kind, takes pride in his creativity and knows how to get a couple comfortable. Not only that, he also knows how to carry himself in large bridal parties with so many distractions, he walks through every single challenging situation like a breeze, including chasing a 10 foot veil in the air to capture the most perfect shot (true story and my veil was safe and sound and the picture was a thousand times worth it) I cannot emphasize how incredibly humbled I am to have been JLB’s client and I am looking forward to hiring him for every single event moving forward. Speechless. You'll never be able to look at wedding photos the same way ever again.

Wow, wow, wow, we literally can't say enough good things about our experience working with Jeffrey. His photos are absolutely stunning and are unlike any other wedding photos we've seen before (and not just because he does GIFs too!). His framing is impeccable, the emotions he captures, the colors and textures he brings to life. Every photo is so dynamic and dramatic and visceral. We saw our sneak peeks and were absolutely speechless.

Not only is he an amazing artist, but he was so easy to work with. Right from the beginning, he made an effort to learn everyone's names and put us all at ease. We were chatting and laughing with him before long, just as if he was another one of our friends or family members at the wedding. He made us feel totally relaxed in front of the camera. We absolutely recommend working with him. You won't regret it.

Don't think twice...hire JLB

JLB, Jeffrey, has been one of the greatest decisions of our wedding! We knew we wanted excellent pictures and did a LOT of research in looking for the perfect fit photographer...and we found Jeffrey. He is very confident, personable, kind, and professional! He keeps communication open at all times. Due to our work schedules and us being in FL, we thought it would be very difficult to communicate with our photographer, but Jeffrey has an online google doc portal that makes planning locations for photography very easy! Not only that he completely takes the stress off your shoulder on wedding day! He takes the lead and knows exactly to do for exquisite photos (memories for a lifetime)! JLB is definitely worth the investment! Can't say enough about him!

Best decision you can make!

I cannot say enough great things about JLB! I had admired his work for the longest time so when it was my time to get married it was a no brainer to use him for photography. He is a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The planning is stress free and I had total confidence going into the day with him. He kept us focused on the day of so we could get the shots we wanted yet used his creative mastermind to get awesome pictures when seeing an opportune shot!
The sneak peek - which is a good amount of pictures - was displayed within 24 hours. Our guests were blown away and we could not have been happier. JLB is a true artist and will not disappoint!

Highly recommend JLB!

Jeffrey is so incredibly talented. We live out of state and we weren't able to meet Jeffrey until our wedding day, but he was still able to instantly put us at ease. Typical of Michigan, we experienced pretty bad weather, but Jeffrey was a trooper and stood out in the pouring rain/hail/snow with 30mph wind gusts to ensure we had amazing shots outside. He took full advantage of the periods of good weather we had and was creative – like when he incorporated an umbrella and had us walk out beyond the barn to capture some amazing shots with the farm in the background. Even without a second shooter, Jeffrey was able to capture every important moment and we could not be more thankful that we have so many gorgeous photos to remember our special day. He posted an amazing teaser board of photos and gifts within a day that we were able to share with family and friends. His gifs are unique and were a great way to capture special moments between my husband and I throughout the day. Cannot recommend JLB enough!

Jeffrey really impressed us in our engagement shoot. We had planned some shoots by a waterfall, but when we arrived we found out that the way had been blocked by a huge fence. Jeffrey was so dedicated to the shoot that we agreed to climb it, then down a huge cliff, and over wet river rocks to get the photos. And they turned out great!

On our wedding day, we had to battle 30+ MPH winds and shifting light. Again, our shots came out great. But most of all, Jeffrey was great at helping us stay comfortable through the process. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Photography is an art for Jeffrey.

We weren't looking for a standard wedding photographer to do the standard deal. We wanted someone with an open, creative mind who would be excited about capturing our nontraditional wedding, and Jeffrey did just that. He was professional from our first video chat during which he asked us detailed questions about our vision. He paid attention to every aspect-- lighting, timing, transportation, etc. He is clearly experienced and poised. We couldn't be happier with our memories!

JLB made our wedding day :)

Having JLB as our photographer was the number one thing I wanted for our wedding day (I knew this even before I was even engaged). You can see his photography is phenomenal, and he is just as amazing to work with. Everything felt so natural, he kept us laughing all day, and even our family and friends spoke about how great he was. My husband does not particularly enjoy taking pictures, and he said it was his favorite part of the day. He couldn't stop talking about it for weeks to come, and said choosing JLB was the overall best decision we made for our wedding. I couldn't have agreed more. He captured so many wonderful moments that we will treasure forever. Book him now! You will be so happy you did :)

Hands down best wedding investment!

We didn't want a lot of staged stiff shots for our big day. We wanted someone who could really capture the moment and energy of the day, and boy oh boy did JLB deliver. We did a first look and the early afternoon the with our bridal party zipping around Detroit before the ceremony and reception. The photos are phenomenal! Every single one captures where we were in that moment. They are vibrant, and full of life, they truly are works of art. Not only does JLB deliver on the quality, but the turnaround time is truly unbelievable. We had our teasers within 24 hours, and everything else within the week. I've heard of people having to wait weeks /months. We weren't even back from our honeymoon when we got the rest of the proofs. We posted our teasers on Facebook, and our guests and friends have not stopped gushing about how they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. We also took advantage of the fact that JLB does gifs, which I highly recommend! Your wedding day goes by so fast, so I'm thrilled that we have amazing photos to look back on our day. Hands down JLB was worth every penny.

Amazing, friendly, unique, and timeless!

There are four adjectives that describe working with Jeffrey in the title of this review, but I could probably generate 100 more. His work is a mix between classic and contemporary, which makes for unique photos that you will be happy to look back on for years to come. It was also incredibly important to us to have not just an LGBT-friendly, but LGBT-affirming photographer, and Jeffrey was that in spades.

If you want someone to capture the best day of your life and allow you to re-live it every time you look at a photo, then hire Jeffrey.

One of my first and most important decisions to make for my wedding planning was a photographer, and hands down picking Jeffrey was the best decision I made! Jeffrey's work speaks for itself, absolutely amazing, he knows how to tell a story. And above and beyond that he was a pleasure to work with, he makes you comfortable through out the whole process and is a fun addition to your special day! You will also not find a more prompt wedding photographer, getting a preview in 24 hours is amazing, and getting all of your edits back within a week is unheard of, but Jeffrey does just that, and its definitely not a rushed job! I wish I could give Jeffrey more than five stars. I cannot begin to describe how amazing Jeffrey is at his job. Hiring him was the single best decision my husband and I made while planning our wedding. His photography speaks for itself- immensely beautiful, intimate, personal, and artistic. What I really want to comment on is his ease of interacting with me, my husband, our wedding party, and our families. We had never met Jeffrey before our wedding, yet we both felt so comfortable with sharing our wedding day with him. Having been in a few weddings, I know that having your photo taken (hundreds of times, nonetheless) can be awkward and forced, and it shows in the pictures. But Jeffrey knows how to interact with you and your wedding party (and family and guests) to get the best shots. He's not afraid to joke and laugh, while also making sure to read the room to ensure the bride and groom are comfortable and happy with how everything is going. Honestly, Jeffrey helped make our wedding day such a happy and memorable time, and we truly, truly thank him.

We feel so fortunate to have been introduced to Jeffrey early in our planning adventure -- because there simply is no comparison. Highest caliber, hands down. Jeffrey is the difference between checking the box VS choosing the ultimate; phoning it in VS doing it right; same ole VS utterly imaginative; cookie-cutter VS outright art.

We could go on, and on and on.

We knew from the beginning we had rightly chosen to work with the best in the business. We were not interested in doing things in a customary way. We were not interested in photos that looked like everyone else's. We wanted to be able to look to, trust entirely and be completely thrilled with the outcome. AND, to have our guests feel the same way. In addition to creating a powerful collection of photos of me and Blake, he captured the romance and rich character of our beloved community of family in friends, photo upon photo -- including through some powerful collages that really showcase everything going on in that room on that night, the best night of our lives.

Working with Jeffrey was an exceptionally professional, organized, respectfully collaborative and thrilling process. And we are not even completely done yet! We've got our teasers and gallery in hand and are just in the process of ordering prints, creating albums and more. As he knows, and we have joked, I'm trying to find ways to draw out working together, because it's been perfect.

We knew the photographs from our wedding would be the part that stays with us forever, and take us back to the memories from the day, so we knew it was worth investing in the best. Working with JLB, we knew he had an eye for amazing shots and takes care in creating curated albums. After working with him, we have no regrets, as he was professional, prompt, and created beautiful pictures. He also took all of the photos with minimal direction and knew just what we would like. The candid photos captured throughout the day were our favorite, and we don’t even remember seeing him taking the photos when we were just enjoying ourselves. He was like a ninja photographer. Worth every penny.

My wife and I had a very small wedding in Detroit with just our immediate family. We hardly consider ourselves photogenic and are uncomfortable in front of a camera, but still we wanted to capture the day as best as we could. Jeffrey was recommended to us from a friend who threw a very large wedding and after speaking with him we knew he was the guy.

I think Jeffrey's portfolio demonstrate his obvious talent, and my wife and I were extremely thrilled with the photos that he took of us and our families. What was more surprising, I found, was the amount of time we spent with Jeffrey throughout the course of the day. Most of our photography was just my wife and I, so a significant portion of our wedding was spent with Jeffrey, and in hindsight I wouldn't have wanted to share that with anyone else. Aside from his work, Jeffrey really is an amazing person and we were so happy to be able to work with him.

If you have the option to work with Jeffrey, it's certainly worth it. Best decision we made for our wedding hands down.

Jeff was one of the best parts of my wedding. On wedding day, everyone is asking questions to the bride, family, etc. Jeff was able to take charge and organize our group as well as work with our wedding planner to perfectly capture everything. Jeff was invaluable and I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. He was so great that we flew him out to DC from Detriot because he offered a skillset we felt we couldn't find anywhere around here. Choosing JLB as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our big day! Not only is he incrediblely talented and easy to work with, he made the entire process fun! JLB made sure we got to all of our requested locations, and also took us to a few different spots we would have never thought of (and these were some of the best photos!). The morning after our wedding there was already a teaser photo up, and from that one photo I could not contain my excitement to see the rest. Our wedding would not have been the same without Jeffrey. From the very first interview call with Jeffrey, we knew that he was our wedding photographer. He set early expectations for what he would bring to the table, and he did not disappoint! Our engagement photos and wedding photos were absolutely beautiful. All of our friends and family were blown away, and countless couples have already asked us who we used. We love our wedding album and have several photos blown up and framed on our walls and our families'. The best part of working with Jeffrey is how quickly he provides the photos. We were shocked that we received previews from our engagement session the same night, and then we received our wedding photos the next day! Most of our friends had to wait several months for their photos, and there's nothing like sharing moments from your big day right after it occurs. You will not go wrong with Jeffrey!

My wife, JJ, and I were super picky and very particular when it came to our wedding photography. We looked at all the highly rated photographers in the Metro Detroit Area, and JLB just stood out as the only one that would be able to pull off what we've always envisioned our wedding to look like. Jeff was extremely easy to work with, getting all the shots that we wanted, while still being able to keep us on schedule. We are STILL getting compliments on our photos, even after a couple months has already gone by! JJ and I couldn't be happier with our experience. So first, Jeffrey's photos speak for themselves. If you do the research of photographers, you will not find a more unique and beautiful style in the metro Detroit area. I really want to use this review to just call out how much a pleasure Jeffrey was to work with, leading up to and including the wedding day itself. He knows the area incredibly well and came up with several unbelievable photo spots throughout the city (our wedding was at the DAC in downtown Detroit) in the two hours we had. He always smiling - and used humor to keep everyone smiling in the heat of summer. Finally, as advertised - he will post pictures to Facebook almost immediately (less than 24 hours for us)...I can't describe how cool it was to be able to share those right away with friends and family. It was incredible working with Jeffrey on our wedding day and I think his pictures speak for themselves. That is what really caught my attention- JLB was the one vendor I knew I really wanted to work with as soon as I saw his work and skyped with him. He was always very accessible, and would often email me back within minutes. He is very efficient and thorough in his work and I enjoyed working with someone who knew exactly what he was doing so that I did not have to stress about photography leading up to the wedding, or day of. He is so easy to work with, he is laid back and creative, and the time we had to take pictures just flew by. His turn around time is unlike any one else’s and it is so fun to look through the wedding pictures the very next day. We have received so many compliments about his work- our friends and family tell us our pictures are one-of-a kind. Everyone we who has seen the pictures has been blown away by his work and the moments he captured. He has been awesome to work with even after the wedding- answering questions and working on the album. He really cares about client satisfaction and about his final product. I was so excited to decorate our home with our wedding pictures- I think they truly turned out like art work. I would recommend him to anyone!

The best decision my husband and I made regarding our wedding (aside from marrying each other, of course), was hiring JLB as our photographer. He is the only photographer we considered when planning everything, and I was relieved when he had availability on our wedding date. It was one less thing I had to think about because I knew we'd have great pictures. Jeffrey is incredibly talented, but he's also relaxed, friendly, fun, and unobtrusive so he puts everyone else at ease. This has to be his secret to capturing pure moments.

It would be easy to find a photographer who is less expensive, but if it's in your budget, go with JLB. You won't be disappointed.

Jeff was an amazingly talented photographer and we got (and are still getting) so many compliments on our photos! JLB is one of the most talented (and fun) photographers I have ever worked with, and I have worked with quite a few through my occupation. I came across JLBwedding photography via facebook. My mom showed me photographs of a wedding intending to show me the bride's dress... but I couldn't even concentrate on that because the photography was so beautiful. I always knew that the most important thing to me for my wedding was the photography. You only get one day - you have to know that the person(s) you are hiring will capture your day! JLBwedding did that and more. Honestly, I was married in July and not a day has gone by that I have not looked at my wedding photos. They are absolutely beautiful and capture every moment of that special day. Jeffrey made us feel so at ease the minute he arrived, it was almost like he was just another friend attending our wedding! After the ceremony we took a bus down to Detroit where he led us to all kinds of perfect places for photos. Honestly, aside from marrying my best friend, the best part of my day was spent in Detroit getting photos taken with my husband and our best friends/family who stood up in our wedding. It was a blast! And don't even get me started on his creative touches like his unique animated gifs - so, so fun. All of my friends and family were blown away by those and all of our wedding photos. Truly, I really cannot reiterate enough on hiring JLBwedding for your own special day. Stop thinking about it and do it before he books up for your day. You will not regret it.

Working with Jeffrey was an all around fantastic experience. His photos of both our engagement and wedding are stunning and truly one-of-a-kind, which you will probably know if you have viewed his work. What I will center this review on are those factors which are harder to get a read for virtually:
1) Fun to work with: My husband and I spent more time on our wedding day with the photographer than anyone else. Looking back, personality was a factor that I didn't necessarily look for but should have been one of the most important factors in choosing a photographer. Sessions with JLB were not only relaxed but fun. And yes - we really did go out in a canoe during our reception!
2) End product: Jeffrey followed anything we talked about in advance but also had a knack for figuring out who was especially important to us and captured many candids of our close loved ones throughout the event.
3) Chemistry with guests: Many guests commented to us on how great the photographer was. Our wedding party was relaxed. Relaxed wedding party + relaxed bride/groom = great pictures
4) Speed was unbelievable. We had teasers back within a day of both our engagement and wedding
Overall, hiring JLB was one of the best decisions of our wedding!! I can't recommend him highly enough!

Jeffrey did our engagement session as well as our wedding. On top of his beautiful photos, Jeffrey has an amazingly calm demeanor that helps the day run so smoothly. He was able to gather family and friends for group photos (a difficult task to say the least) both efficiently and professionally.

JLB did an outstanding job at our wedding in July. He's very creative and detailed, which made for amazing pictures! He has a plan and he sticks to it. We saw 50 or so pictures on Facebook the day after the wedding and we got our full prints in just 2 weeks! Incredibly fast! JLB did my wedding on 7/16/16 and I can’t express enough how in love I am with my pictures! Jeffrey made my whole bridal party, family, husband and myself feel so comfortable. I never felt like we were “posing” or felt awkward. Somehow Jeffrey just gets everything to flow naturally. I had a large bridal party and getting ready was a bit chaotic, but Jeffrey’s attitude and energy made us forget all about the craziness. Everyone who has looked at our pictures just raves with how stunning they are. During the planning stage, JLB was always very responsive to email, answered questions quickly and helped me come up with a great time line for the day. Our online gallery with all of our pictures was available just a few days after the wedding, with some on Facebook (including a GIF) the very next day. My husband and I had a hard time narrowing down which ones to get printed because we were SO happy with all of them. His artistic style stands out and this was hands down the best money we spent for the wedding. If I could go back in time the only thing I would do differently is have JLB do our engagement photos!

Hiring JLB wedding was hands down the best money we spent toward our wedding. His artistic photographs go so far beyond standard wedding portraits. Really, his portfolio speaks for itself. I knew our photographs were going to be beautiful just by looking at it, but I didn't know how fun it would be to spend our wedding day with him. Jeffrey is incredibly warm, great at getting genuine smiles, a pro at managing large groups, and made all of us feel comfortable. He also makes sure that you get a highlight reel the very next day. (He actually had an assistant at our reception, tucked away upstairs, editing photographs from earlier in the day.) Our wedding party and all of our guests have not stopped raving about him and his work. The morning after our wedding day, I was recommending him to anyone who would listen, even single people who live out of state, telling them that when the day comes they need to find JLB! Jeffrey is just the best. When I started researching photographers for my wedding, I knew right away that I wouldn't find anyone better. If you've seen his work, it goes without saying that his photos are stunning and cinematic. Some of our photos look like they're from an editorial in Vogue. But that's just one reason why I can't imagine anyone having a better wedding photographer. Jeffrey is so easy to communicate with. He made the whole process very straightforward and simple. And even though we didn't meet in person until the morning of the wedding, I felt comfortable with him from the beginning. He had a calming, warm, and laidback presence that was never, ever intrusive. I can be pretty awkward when being photographed (where should I look? what do I do with my arms?) but Jeffrey made us at ease and told us exactly what to do so I never had that awkwardness. He is a true professional in every sense and I truly believe he was the best investment we made for the wedding (and seriously, a pretty good value!).

Jeff is brilliantly talented and you will look gorgeous as will everyone else at the wedding! We are insanely happy with these pictures. My mom said it best "These are the wedding pictures most people hope to get and never do." Easy to work with and you get beautiful natural shots. My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about JLBwedding. I am quite an anxious person and he kept the day smooth and calm. I always feel awkward in front of a camera, but with his creative lead, it felt very easy.

Once it was time for the ceremony and reception, I felt like I didn't see him at all, but got back a TON of photos that are all so perfect. We had a guest list of 180 and he seemed to capture every single person there. Our wedding was very non-traditional and his photos convey our personalities perfectly.

He always responded promptly to emails and helped us plan our 'day-of' timeline. Not to mention, he emails you the very next day with a Facebook album full of teaser photos from the night before!

Our family and friends cannot stop commenting about how unique and awesome our wedding photos are. I knew they would be great, but they turned out even better than I ever could have imagined. Hiring JLB was seriously the best wedding decision we made and we cannot recommend him enough.

What drew me to Jeffrey was his artistic approach to event photography--while looking through his portfolio, I noticed how nothing was ever too staged or forced. The personality of the couple is always well represented. Since we had him photograph our wedding, I know now that that particular quality is made possible by his positive and laid-back yet professional nature--which made us feel at ease the entire day. It was like hanging out with an old friend! My husband has been a groomsmen in 5 weddings and, in those experiences, he felt really pestered by the photographers, so he was very concerned with how it would go--but with Jeffrey, it was a totally different and wonderful experience for us both. He was always mindful of what was going on throughout the day and was super easy to work with. For example, we had an unexpected spring snow storm on the day of our wedding and between his pictures and the animated gifs, he turned that situation into the most desirable one ever; we are so glad he was in charge of documenting everything! It's not an exaggeration to say that working with Jeffrey was one of the highlights of our wedding. He came to Chicago to shoot our engagement photos, and from the first few minutes with him, it felt like going back and forth between hanging out with a dear friend and him being invisible so that we could be intimate, romantic and natural for his photos. The three of us had such a blast that day. If anyone would have told me that one of the favorite parts of getting married was getting engagement photos taken, I never would've believed them...w/JLB, believe it! :)

For our wedding at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, his intimate knowledge of the 'sweet spots' for photos in the museum made our photo shoot the day of the wedding smooth, effortless and stress-free. We all felt comfortable (maybe TOO comfortable) to be ourselves from the first shot to the last dance, and we (and folks who ask to see our photos) continue to rave about his work: each one a beautiful window into a magical day.

There aren't enough positive things to say about our experience with Jeffrey. He truly made our day unforgettable!

Beginning with the moment that we met him in the lobby of our hotel, he brought an extremely contagious positive energy that drove the remainder of the day. From getting dressed to making our way to the venue, the afternoon was an awesome adventure. The real magic was allowing Jeffery to lead with his creativity – the results were breathtaking and we had an incredible time running around the city with him.

Jeffrey captured our ceremony and reception unobtrusively – we didn't realize during the night just how many photos he had taken and how many different places he seemed to be at once. His approach allowed us to actually enjoy our evening; he captured us and our guests in true form. Even candid photos were taken with artistic consideration. Working with him was such a pleasure that many of our family and friends thought that we knew him personally!

He always responded promptly to emails, provided advice when needed, and even helped us plan our 'day-of' timeline. The day after our wedding we received an email with a link to a teaser album on his facebook page. Six days later we had received all of the proofs along with a mock version of our photo album.

We couldn't be more satisfied with the service that JLB has provided us. These beautiful and unique photographs really capture us and our wedding better than we could have ever imagined. Hiring Jeffrey is one of the best wedding decisions we made and we cannot recommend him enough. Although JLB Wedding may be higher than most couples' photography budget (dealing with a limited budget ourselves we were initially hesitant), the pictures are abssolutely priceless and well worth the money spent. Anyone questioning the cost should seriously reconsider if preserving the day is a priority. Every photograph is a story and Jeffrey did an amazing job telling ours!

His work really speaks for itself- beautiful, classic, and creative. He deserves all of the accolades he has gotten over the years, and more. But more than that he was an outstanding person to work with.

Planning a wedding, as everyone whose done it before knows- is exceptional, but its also overwhelming and downright painful at times. JLB was flexible with everything we wanted, he was responsive, he was honest/transparent (no you aren't going to have time for that. You are outside and the sun sets at this time, etc.) and best of all, he was FUN. I never once saw him throughout the night without a smile on his face- even during my family photos which is saying A LOT.

We have some beautiful memories thanks to him- I would recommend him to anyone

JLBwedding is the best money you can spend on your wedding. Seriously, there are so many things about the day that are only on the day, but the pictures are what you get to keep and hold onto forever. You cannot make a better investment than working with Jeffrey to capture your story and your special day. Jeffrey is a master of photography and direction. This is so important because he captures so much of what happened on the day in a way that is truly beautiful. His attention to color, depth of field, framing, light and emotion is second to none. My wife and I could not be happier with what we received from Jeff. We did a story session that resulted in images that we get compliments for on a consistent basis.

JLB is amazing! He was so easy to work with and his experience really shows not only in his professionalism but he really knows wedding inside and out. He was sometimes our wedding 'guru' as my husband and I sent countless emails literally asking for his opinion on something regarding our wedding. He was a blessed addition to our wedding day. Jeffery Bennett was one of our best vendors. He helped the day go very smoothly and he has a great personality and easy to work with. I was a little nervous at first, because my husband is not a big picture taker. Especially posed photos, but he worked with us and used our ideas as well as his creative touch to make beautiful and unique wedding photos. He was liked by the our whole huge wedding party and families which is always a plus. We were very happy with the quality of the photos and how they were presented.

JLB (Jeffrey) was fabulous to work with! He took photos for my daughter's wedding. He was so calm and easy to work with from start to finish which we all truly appreciated on what could be a frenzied day schedule wise. He directed the photos in amazing places throughout the city of Detroit. His photos are beautiful and so artistic. We received many photos the next day and the entire batch only two weeks later...what a great turnaround time!

I stumbled upon Jeffrey's work looking up potential venues and fell in love with his eye and how he captured each couples' day. I saw no one else who was so able to make you feel like you knew the couple and were going through the day with them - his pictures and the way he curates the albums are stunning!

Everyone will tell you pictures may be the most important place you spend your money as they're the only tangible thing you really take with you and they last forever. Thinking along those lines we had no problem spending the extra $ to bring Jeffrey out to Maine for our wedding. And the pictures are perfect!

I remember thinking the prices were at the upper end (especially because it was destination) when I was looking through Jeffrey's info but I can't stress enough how worth it he is! He manages to fade into the background and picture taking is unobtrusive yet somehow he caught every moment. I would 100% recommend him to anyone, every time. If you think his work hits a cord with you, BOOK HIM! You won't be disappointed and you'll walk away with unique, breath taking memories from the day!!

After my husband, choosing Jeffrey to be a part of the wedding was the best decision I could have ever made! I took a chance asking this photographer to travel to NYC in the middle of January for our wedding - lucky for us he was from Detroit and use to the temperatures! Within hours of speaking to him for the first time, he already knew sites he wanted to shoot at and the exact time of sundown the day of our wedding - his thoroughness and attention to detail wer like nothing I had experienced before. Jeffrey was one of the most professionally laid back, discreetly present, people I have ever encountered. His ability to capture our day (and love) so perfectly was beyond what my husband and I expected - our only regret is that we didnt ask him to come and capture the honeymoon for us! THANK YOU!

I discovered JLB through Instagram in 2013! And, immediately after seeing his work, I inquired about what he was able to do and asked what his availability was, for the next two years. (I was NOT even engaged at the time! LOL!) JLB responded to my emails right away, sent me his availability schedule and talked to me about his work! I told myself right then and there, that he was the guy that we wanted to do our pictures when we got engaged... and then married! Fast forward to two years later, I quickly contacted JLB after my fiancé and I got engaged, and we set up an engagement picture session. My fiancé and I still cannot get over how wonderful our session was! We were both sad when it ended because we had been looking forward to our session, for so long! JLB was punctual, easy going, and he really listened to what we wanted! All of our friends and family members contacted us after we got our pictures back, to let us know how beautiful they turned out. (I cried!) I couldn't ask for a better photographer! Jeffrey was amazing to work with. I have our engagement photos proudly displayed in our home and can't wait to integrate our wedding photos as well. He's very responsive and put me at ease on our wedding day. He was well organized and worked great with our large wedding party and larger families. If I could, I would give Jeff and JLB Wedding a 15 out of 5 rating. There are not enough words to describe our phenomenal experience. Professional, exceptionally creative, and absolutely top notch. Jeff has the ability to be three steps ahead in planning the next perfect picture while he is in the middle of taking the best picture you're ever going to see. His creative ability to capture the most memorable moments in such a special way is something that I have not seen before in any other photographer. After looking at our wedding photos, and literally being brought to tears by their beauty, I realized that it seemed like we had 5 photographers based on all of the important moments he was able to capture. He missed nothing. He is so gifted at his trade that he has mastered the ability to capture photos you couldn't even dream up. His GIFS are off the charts!!! JLB is worth every penny. You only get one opportunity to capture images which last a lifetime. His work speaks for itself but working with him was the highlight of our day. It was so fun, casual and painless. Our wedding party even thought he was a close family friend despite us just meeting him - that's how relaxed he is. Also, he made himself available to us at all times and even went out of his way to Skype with us to discuss concerns. Within 24 hours of the wedding, he had previews posted on Facebook. We were expecting a handful but there were over 40! Within 24 hours... After coming home from the honeymoon we had our proof book, photo book proof and gallery of images published online. He then sent us a super cool case with our photos on a flash drive. The level of customer service far exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't choose any other photographer to cover our day, he is professional, courteous and was an overall pleasure to work with.

Jeffrey's photos speak for themselves. We could not have been happier with our choice for photography for our big day.. Not only was he laid back and easy to work with, he was able to capture every moment so beautifully that we can relive the day for years to come. I am pretty shy and usually don't love getting my photo taken, and Jeffrey made everything so comfortable & relaxed - the creative session with him was actually fun, all we needed to worry about was smiling, laughing, and soaking in the moment with our best friend. The album he created is gorgeous , unique, and tells the story of the whole day. Everything also came back quickly, and even higher quality than we were expecting. Highly recommend ! "I can't imagine our wedding without Jeffrey." What every girl expects to hear from her husband on their honeymoon. But, I couldn't agree more. When searching for a photographer, JLBWedding's pictures made me pause. Jeffrey's style is distinctive. He captures couples in their most beautiful and creative light without making them appear artificial. I did not want engagement pictures. But, after seeing the engagement pictures on his page, I instantly changed my mind. I contacted him as quickly as I could and he responded just as quickly; a trend that continued throughout the process.

Everything about our wedding was unbelievable and Jeffrey truly made every moment that much better. He knew when to direct (Persians can be pushy and less than punctual) and when to transition to some sort of stealth mode. And, then by some even crazier magic, these amazing pictures that encapsulated our favorite day popped up before our eyes the very next day! So, it's true, we thought about Jeffrey on our honeymoon. And, I can't imagine our wedding without him.

When it was time for me to start planning my wedding, I had no idea where to start. Since I plan weddings for a living, picking my vendors was going to be a challenge since I know and have worked with so many! However, once I started reaching out, my choice for JLB was an easy one. I absolutely loved his style of photography. When we met up for our engagement session, I was so nervous. Nervous I would look bad or funny, but he made all of that go away within the first 5 minutes. The next 2 hours were great (freezing, but the photos turned out wonderful!) Now fast forward 11 months to our wedding. I don't know what I would have done without him. He just has a way of working with the bride and groom. That tiny grin he'll get behind the camera to help you break into a genuine smile. Being totally understanding if the bride needs a moment to slow down and take in her surroundings. He was able to keep our staged 30 minute church photos moving, even when we had a hiccup with one of the bridesmaids. He made the day so easy - like he was a friend truly invested in our day. Within 24 hours I got a "sneak peak" which was over 40 photos. The perfect send off for our honeymoon. I then received all of the other photos within one week. Yes, ONE WEEK. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful and timely that is! I have brides who it takes over 3 months (yes, 3 MONTHS!) to get their wedding photos back. A week after I got home from our honeymoon, I received a box on my front door. A customized flash drive holder, a hard cover book with all images, and several printed images all packaged beautifully. It was the perfect surprise that day. JLB puts so much thought and effort into every single photo. He makes the day effortless and captures every single moment. I would suggest him to every bride and groom looking for a photographer who wants to capture their day. First and foremost: if you are reading this right now, the most important piece of advice I can provide you is to open a separate tab and contact Jeffrey immediately about your date and his availability…and then come back! All you need to do is read one or two reviews, and you’ll know that contacting Jeffrey will be the best decision you’ll ever make with respect to your wedding.

It’s taken me so long to come and write a review because I’ve been trying to find the right words that truly describe Jeffrey. No words can come close to defining how amazing he is to work with…but trust that you too will be at a loss for words because you are in utter awe of his professionalism and artistic views. It’s been 3 months since our wedding at the DAC and people are still talking about how impressed they were with Jeffrey; those who were in the wedding party, attended the wedding, simply just viewed the pictures from the day.

From the minute you are fortunate enough to confirm Jeff for your day, he’s available to answer any questions you may have (I’m convinced he doesn’t sleep) & is so diligent about understanding exactly what you are looking for leading up to the big day…that when the day arrives, you just have to worry about smiling, laughing with your significant other, and finding a glass of champagne. Look...I'm not going to get all frilly and mushy about how Jeff captured every moment of our day and made both my wife and I look like a million bucks. But know that he did.

If you care about your wedding photography, book this man. No it's not cheap...but neither is that dress you're going to wear. Once.

Jeff isn't the type of photographer who will "recreate that ah-mazing pic you found on Pinterest". Go book that photographer if that's what you're about. He does however figure out what's important to you guys, and takes time to make sure you feel 100% comfortable/awesome.

If you want run of the mill, discounted wedding photos...it's super easy to find a putz with a camera and flash. But if you want real, honest artistry...JLB is it.

From a tiny gasp to breathtaking memories
My daughter came across the JLB Photography website and immediately fell in love. Since she lives out of the country, I was charged with doing the research for her upcoming wedding. As we old folks tend to do, I went directly to the “Pricing” information. Here is where I had that tiny involuntary gasp. But wait! Then, I proceeded to the photos. The artistry in those photos is unmatched! As I did more checking, I found that JLB pricing is quite reasonable, but the photography is priceless. I do not know of any other photographer that captures so many perfect moments. There are many very good photographers in our area, but JLB is phenomenal. He is a true artist.
Working with Jeff was so easy. He had us fill out forms in advance so he knew about all of those “special” shots to take. I imagine if one wanted some crazy picture of the undercarriage of the limo, JLB would do it. Plus he would do it in such a creative way! We didn’t have any unusual requests, but Jeff has a certain intuition and perspective for those special moments that will become favorite memories. We also appreciated how unobtrusive he was. At other events, I have watched overbearing, intrusive photographers ordering people about and staging awkward scenes. Jeffrey is stealth-like. I do not have the words to describe the stunning photos we had to choose from. He gave us wide range from whimsical to serious to romantic and the result is a spectacular cutting-edge collection. Best of all, we got a peek at some special photos almost immediately. His turn-around time is great for even the most impatient. If you are looking for photography that is both unique and artistic done by an affable and easy-going craftsman, you need to talk to Jeffrey Lewis Bennett. Your results will be breathtaking.

This guy is a true artist and captured our wedding better than we could have ever expected. If you are looking for a true artist to capture your day, have your pictures stand out, and be better than any you've ever seen before, then look no further. He is also a blast to work with. He knows how to get the best shots and does it quick. He has a great sense of humor and makes you feel very comfortable the whole day. He also truly listens to what shots you want to accomplish and he makes it happen. You dont need a plan with him, just pick a area you like and show up and he will lead you to amazing shots and help you have a great time while you do it. We did both a engagement session and a full day of photos at our wedding and I highly reccommend you do the same! Jeffrey is the man!!! My fiance and I couldn't be happier with our NY Story Session/Engagement Shoot. He did a phenomenal job making us feel relaxed and capturing amazing, artistic shots! We had such a blast the entire time!

Jeffrey is super professional and really talented at what he does. We had a few uncontrollable obstacles, i.e, subway delays and getting locked in at Central Park, and Jeffrey was super calm and quick at problem-solving. We had to climb a fence, and it was not easy in a dress but we all did it with smiles on our faces. And wow, does he know how to hustle! Because of the subway delays, we were running through the park to catch the sunset and he can run even with all of his heavy equipment!

If you want memorable photos that stand out from all the typical engagement photos, go with Jeffrey! Everyone loved our photos and cannot stop commenting on how beautiful they are!

I was looking for an engagement photographer but I was tired of the usual cliche pictures. After I saw my friend's story session in NYC, I fell in love with Jeff's creative style and convinced my fiancé to book him for our shoot in NYC despite the fact that there are many options here. To me, his work stood out because he uses many different kinds of lens i.e. Portrait, wide angle, and even tilt shift! This made the pictures so interesting and not boring. He also has so many cool tricks including different color filters, sparkler shots, and his signature gif pictures which were featured in so many blogs. When we actually got to work with him, we were even more impressed by personality and his willingness to go above and beyond. He always smiled, was so flexible and easy going, and made us feel so comfortable during the shoot. He did his homework on the locations, picked all the right spots, and guided us to pose naturally. By the end of the shoot, both my fiancé (who usually doesn't care about taking pictures that much) and I had so much fun and it's clear to us that Jeff really loves what he does. After finishing the shoot at almost 9pm, we got a teaser for our pictures right away! We couldn't be more happy with the outcome and would highly recommend him to anyone!

Jeffrey is the absolute best. No question about it. If you are reading this, you are probably an over thinker like myself because his photos speak for themselves. They are unlike any wedding photos I have seen, so unique, so creative. But what you don't see in his photos is the experience you have with Jeffrey on the most important day of your life, your wedding day. You don't get to see his calming nature and swift ability to capture every precious moment and detail. Let's just say that our experience was equally as phenomenal as his photos are! Jeffrey is calm, creative, and simply amazing at his craft. He knows exactly what to say and do. I would venture to call him a genius in his arena.. truly mastering his art. Our sneak peak was posted the very next morning, allowing my family to gather around the computer and gasp at the greatness of them. My grandfather who does not have internet at his home was able to sit with me and examine how precious the day was. This is uncharacteristic of wedding photographers. I got chills from head to toe looking at our animated photo a few days later. It is priceless and perfect to us. As was our entire experience with Jeffrey. Chris and I have not been able to stop talking about how claiming and talented he is. My jitters went out the window and we were both in awe of his ability to do the job singlehandedly.

I could go on for days about our experience and how thankful and grateful we are for Jeffrey being apart of our day. He was the absolute best choice we made in this entire wedding planning process. In fact, in our eyes, he is the only photographer we would have wanted. Anyone else would have paled in comparison. He is truly in a league of his own - with talent that is exponential. We are so thankful to rank among the lucky people who have gotten the chance to work with him. It was an absolute privilege. Worth every single penny. Save money on something else....trust me!!!!

It was great working with JLB! On our wedding day, he was organized, relaxed, and we received multiple compliments from the bridal party about how much they enjoyed working with him. He was both accommodating and had so many great ideas throughout the day. He had an amazing creative eye, which produced some awesome pictures. We love our wedding photos and we loved working with Jeffrey! He has a great eye for composition, and knew just where to take us for our pre-ceremony photographs. If you haven’t already looked at the examples of Jeffery’s work on his website, do that now and then come back and read the rest of this review. The obvious care, the investment of time and energy, the artistry that Jeffery brought to the weddings featured on his website is what he will bring to your wedding/event. From the start, he promised that the photos from our wedding would “tell a story.” I didn’t give him a ton to work with—a ceremony in a 150 year old chapel in Livonia, a stop off in cute Downtown Farmington for photos in a bar we used to frequent, a reception at the elegant Andiamo in Warren. All of these things were us (my husband and I), but they didn’t necessarily talk to each other. You wouldn’t know that from our photos. Somehow, Jeffery took all these parts and wove them into a beautiful, flawless whole. The pictures are not an accurate representation of our wedding day—instead, they are something infinitely more wonderful and perfect, which is exactly how I want the memory of my wedding to be. Book him now—you will not be sorry.

Great experience. He is very laid back and he gives lots of directions. Jeffrey comes up with a ton of great ideas on the spot.

You will definitely get a good amount of great, unique shots. His work really speaks for itself, just take a look at his website. I suggest looking through his engagement and wedding pictures to get ideas before your shoot.

No regrets having Jeffrey shoot our engagement and wedding pictures. Everyone enjoyed having him be part of our big day.

Where to start? You know your getting amazing photos just buy looking at JLB's website for a minute! We booked for our engagements and wedding. Our engagement session was a breeze, either of us never being photographed before, we still felt at ease, with his relaxed and carefree style! But you certainly dont receive carefree photos, somehow he manages to maintain a light attitude but deliver hardcore works of art! Typically, everybody wants photos for their engagements and wedding, but if you want works of art, hire JLB. Yes, you still get those, essential photos for the wedding, but you will also have your choice of beautiful works of art to display on your wall! After shooting our engagements, I felt even more comfortable going into our wedding, in his hands. Right from the start we were pressed for time, and knowing how amazing the photos are we wanted to get in as many as possible. I cant tell you how much JLB hustled, and whipped people into shape to capture as many pictures as possible. This was another side of him I didnt know yet. You end up with a carefree and relaxed individual who gets down to business when needed. Our family is very large, and taking photos has been an hour event many times, I believe JLB shot all our family is 10-15 minutes. Impressive.

We received our teaser photos in lighting fast time, and we were able to share the moments with friends and family. Your wedding will fly by I promise that, and typically the only thing you have after its all done, is photos to help trigger your memories. Do not skimp on photos. With JLB you will be doing the opposite of cutting corners. You will be ensuring you have lasting memories, works of art, and all your friends and family being jealous of YOUR photos! Our wedding album is designed to perfection, JLB's graphic design skills definitely excelled here! Honestly, you'd be foolish not to hire JLB if you live in the Metro-Detroit area.Thanks for being amazing!!!

I cannot say enough good things about working with Jeffery. He captured our wedding day so beautifully that I cannot even put it into works. His photos really do speak for themselves! Some of the highlights of our wedding day was our one on one time with Jeffery. He has a way of making you feel so comfortable that at times you almost forget he's even there, and that I think is how he manages to capture your true self! I was able to get some quiet time with my husband before the madness of the wedding all while having gorgeous photos taken of us. He is extremely prompt and has some teaser photos up on his Facebook the day after your wedding which is AMAZING. I don't know very many other photographers that do that. Not to mention he had our preview of our wedding album done in under a week....so amazing! We also had him take our engagement photos and I HIGHLY recommend doing that as well! It made the day of the wedding go more smoothly because you learn how Jeffery likes to work. Thank you so much Jeffery for making our day so special!

We hired Jeffrey to photograph our New Year's Eve wedding. I promise all brides and grooms that his photos and his professionalism go above and beyond his price tag. Jeffrey was able to capture the most important moments of our wedding day candidly and artistically. He was professional and easy to work with; I barely noticed he was there once the wedding started. As he does for all couples, he posted a sneak preview of our pictures on Facebook the very next day. They were absolutely amazing, and I have looked at those pictures everyday since the wedding to relive our memories!

As the bride, I would say that choosing Jeffrey was the best decision I made for my wedding (other than the groom of course). I have granted Jeffrey the well-deserved title of "Picture God."

I find that I’m at a loss for words since all of Jeffrey’s awards and magazine write-ups pretty much say it all already. What I can say first and foremost, is that Jeffrey is a true artist and designer behind the camera. I work in advertising and new right away that I was going to be picky about our wedding photographer. Obviously his photographs are amazing, but his packages and color options make him truly unique. Also, his wedding albums are stunning and a true work of art.

JLB is a master behind the camera…period. I’ve never felt more at ease in front of a camera for starters. Jeffrey did a wonderful job directing us. His attention to detail, composition, and lighting really put my mind at ease. Overall he really has a wonderful calming effect that I think we all felt. JLB is professional, on time, and completely exceeds expectations. We had sneak peaks of our engagement session before we even got home! His excitement for trying new things and pushing the bar really showed throughout the whole engagement session and wedding day. It’s easy to see right away that this man is passionate about his craft.

I need to also give a ton of credit to Jeffrey’s team members. Beth & Stephen Douglas were so nice and captured every little detail of the day. It’s comforting and exciting to know that they were there to document all the details of the day that we were not there to see. To all of the future Brides out there, I can’t stress enough the importance of hiring someone who isn’t going to just take a few good pictures but instead will truly document the whole day down to the tiniest of details.

Jeffrey, words can’t possibly begin to explain how happy we are and how thankful we are to you and your team. Thank you so very much for capturing all the special moments. We can’t wait to work with you again as our family grows.

Jeffrey applies the technical crafts of taking and editing photographs and uses them to induce an emotion through the poignant capturing of great beauty, I call this art.

Weddings and the exciting time of being newly engaged is already an incredibly special time. Jeffrey captures love, joy, sincerity, happiness, commitment, etc. and shows their magic. Furthermore, he bottles, or in this case prints/develops an ephemeral time in peoples lives that they want to re-experience over and over again and allows them to do so.

Choosing JLB Wedding was the first decision we made after choosing our venue. I searched for hours for the right photographer for my fiance and I's vision of our wedding. I wasn't searching for a person who could take pictures of weddings, but rather for an artist that would properly capture our vision and personalities and help us to remember the spirit of our wedding and that time in our life. It was obvious when looking at Jeffrey's pictures that he was committed to his craft while shooting and during the editing. His color processing options are unmatched(remember the hours of searching?)and his display of those options are also unmatched. We found JLB after receiving an e-mail from a friend with local photographers in the Detroit area. After checking out his webpage, we found his prices competitive for the quality of the work. What sealed the deal, however, was his willingness to travel out of area for our engagement photos before the actual wedding. During this session and the actual wedding, he was absolutely amazing to work with. Laid back, but efficient. Jeff put everybody at ease. He had a great personality that just makes everybody have a great natural smile. His eye for composition and his unique artistic style was exactly what we wanted. We could not have asked for anything more. Also we had a "mostly" Indian wedding, and the teaser photos that he put out literally within 1-2 days of the event are absolute works of art. If great wedding photos are a priority for you, and you like Jeff's artistic style, don't hesitate, book him NOW.
