Incredible and Amazing

It was such an honor to have Jimmy capture our special day! We received a sneak peak of our wedding portraits even before we got home and we absolutely love it! We can’t wait to see the rest of the gallery! Jimmy went above and beyond for our engagement session and on our wedding day. We’re so thankful and grateful to have him! I have followed Jimmy's work and have admired it for a while as professional photographer to be! I was honored to have him photograph my wedding. His pricing is perfect! He handled my wedding (both days!) in such a calm and professional way. Everyone had nothing but great things to say. I have no doubts in my mind that my photos will be perfect! I can't wait to see them!

My husband and I are so happy we booked Jimmy as our wedding photographer. Not only is he highly talented a artist, but he is also great, very easy-going and fun-loving! We had a blast doing the engagement shoot and were blown away with the quality of the photos. His style is so spontaneous, and the way he is able to work with natural lighting is awe-inspiring.
Many of our family and guests at our wedding have commented not only on how beautiful our photos are, but how professional and non-intrusive our photographers were. We felt that we could fully enjoy our day and our time with our family and friends, and Jimmy and his team expertly yet quietly documented the entire event! No barked orders or awkward poses! Thanks again Jimmy, we had a great time at the wedding and now, thanks to you, have hundreds of beautiful images to cherish forever!!

Jimmy is an artist! He was not only an absolute joy to work with, but his pictures were so amazing and we couldn't have asked for more. Our wedding pictures even went viral on facebook and got thousands of likes, that's how amazing they were! Hire him, hire him, hire him!

Book Jimmy asap!!! We had a fairly unique wedding and wanted a fun and modern photographer and Jimmy perfectly fit the bill. He has many different packages to work with many budgets, but trust me -- he is worth every penny. He's an incredibly fun and positive photographer and we are so lucky we hired him among the numerous photographers we looked at. Don't hesitate to book Jimmy and his team!

Jimmy was so great, not just with taking photographs of our wedding but also being extremely professional and personable. My bridal party loved him and everyone felt so comfortable taking pictures with him. There wasn't an awkward pose or smile at all! He responds super quick with emails and text messages, and not once did I worry about the photography aspect of the wedding. I knew we would be taken cared of, and he actually helped make our experience much more enjoyable. I'm so glad we found Jimmy after weeks and weeks of searching for a photographer, and I will definitely hire him again! Thank you Jimmy!

Our wedding was in Laguna Beach, Ca and we planned our wedding in Arizona. We skyped with a lot of vendors and Jimmy was the stand out. We connected with him on a personal level, which was very important to us because we wanted to feel comfortable with our photographer on our big day. Not only is he great to get along with, but he helped in so many ways to limit our stress and make our experience as fun as possible. He's also an amazing photographer and I am still blown away but the artistic images he took as well as all the beautiful candid moments he got of our family. Hiring Jimmy was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and I recommend him to everyone!

I have always believed that one of the most important aspects of your wedding is the photographer. You get the absolute best when you hire Jimmy! His professionalism is outstanding, and he's an amazing photographer. All of the guests at our wedding commented on how nice and courteous he was, and most importantly, how respectful he was. Go to his website and you will see that his work is a cut above everyone else. It was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding when I hired Jimmy.

I met with a few photographers before my fiancé and I met with Jimmy, and after our initial conversation with him we knew right away he was the right photographer for us. He is the calmest, friendliest, and all around easiest person to work with, and he is also one of the best photographers out there. I can't even tell you how many compliments we've gotten on our photos. He captured the big moments in an incredibly natural, beautiful, and spontaneous way which is exactly what we wanted. He was quick to respond to emails and messages, and he was a top notch professional during the whole process. I highly recommend him to everyone! We could not be happier!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Jimmy - from our very first meeting through our engagement session and wedding. He was so fun and calming to work and helped make the whole process painless. We are both really shy and not once did we feel awkward taking photos. It was clear that he brought his beautiful creativity to every moment and we absolutely love all the pictures he has taken for us. Jimmy is an absolute professional and a joy to work with. Both my engagement pictures and my wedding pictures turned out so incredibly beautiful and creative and they exceeded my expections ten fold. My husband hates taking pictures, but Jimmy made it a painless experience for him, and as a matter of fact, my husband enjoyed the experience so much that he wants to become a model lol. I found Jimmy on facebook through a friend and I've been a fan of his work for a couple of years. When I got engaged, I knew I wanted him to be my photographer and I booked him the first moment I could. It was definitely one of the best decisions I made for our wedding and I highly recommend him to all brides!

I really could go on and on about how great Jimmy was. I browsed his portfolio and loved his work. After being shunned off by a few photographers, Jimmy was glad to accommodate my request for an "a la carte" wedding package. Others told me they'd have to wait to last minute to accommodate my request in case they booked a larger wedding by the time our wedding date had approached. Jimmy, however, did not hesitate. We knew he was our guy!

My husband and I are photography snobs and Jimmy's work was perfect. And yet, somehow, our wedding album was even better than we could have ever imagined. We knew that our budget wedding could not afford NOT to have amazing photography. It's all you have after the day has come and gone. And amazing photography can make a budget wedding look like a million bucks. We opted not to hire a friend, who is a wedding photographer herself. We knew Jimmy would be the only one who could give us exactly what we wanted. We were on the same page the entire process. Gave us exactly what we wanted. A friend from back home called specifically to tell us that she could feel the emotion in each and every photo. That's powerful. Amazing!

We are so grateful to Jimmy and the amazing photographs he gave us of our special day. Jimmy was so easy going and flexible; even our guests mentioned how great he was. Being a portrait photographer myself and my husband a graphic designer, we definitely had high standards going into our wedding and what we expected. The quality Jimmy produced exceeded all of our needs, wants, and dreams. Working with him was a no-brainer, he is a true artist at work. Not only did he take into consideration all of our requests, he was able to think of fun and artistic images throughout the day. Don't second guess hiring Jimmy and his crew. If you are looking for a photographer with a great personality, artistic vision, and quality work, Jimmy produces on all levels. I found Jimmy through wedding wire, and after looking through countless other photographers, I felt Jimmy offered the best quality and I decided to go with him. In short, I really enjoyed working with Jimmy. He was very creative with his angles & lights, and we were very happily surprised with the pictures.. he really has an eye. It was super awesome getting the photos back much faster then anticipated, especially for the huge number of pictures we received.

Also....My bridal party loved hanging out with him ;)

Jimmy is a dream photographer. I really could not recommend him more, mainly because he's incredibly talented, down to earth, and a genuinely kind person. During the whole day, he had such a great eye for noticing and capturing beautiful, organic moments. His assistant was also wonderful and professional. We knew that we wanted Jimmy to phtograph our wedding since we attended a friend's wedding last year. In fact, they were the first vendor we called for availability. Throughout the entire process (meeting, engagement shoot, wedding, post production) He exceeded our expectations. The photos are amazing...everything we wanted and more! We have shared them with our family and friends and everyone keeps raving about them. They captured everything, but he was never imposing or in the way.

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

I love, love, love, LOVE the pictures! There were some really creative ones in the mix and I couldn't have asked for anything better. It took about 4 weekend until we got the final images, but it was worth the wait. He did however, gave us a preview the day after the wedding, which was really nice. I highly recommend his services to every bride out there!

First of, let me just say that I'm a professional photographer (landscapes and abstracts) and it was extremely important for me to find the best wedding photographer for our wedding. My wife did the searching, and my job was to weed out the ones she selected. Needless to say, I am very picky and I must have vetoed a lot of photographers. When she found Jimmy, and after I checked out his site, background, and a few other things, I had a very good feeling we found the right person. He did an absolutely stunning job and I have recommended him to all of my friends and coworkers. His prices were fair, he is extremely professional, and he is one of the nicest guys you can meet.

I first heard of Jimmy's photography through facebook about a year ago and a half ago, and since then I've been following his work. I knew that if I ever got engaged I wanted him to photograph our wedding, which was this past August. The pictures came out phenomenal and all my friends and family loved them. Besides the pictures, here are somethings that I really appreciated:

Communicative: He was very quick at responding and kept me updated with the post processing.
Easy going/fun personality: He made us feel very comfortable and confident in our own skin
Dedicated: I noticed on several occasions how hard he worked, and gave us more than what was agreed in our contract.

I will definitely use his services again and I can't imagine anyone else being our go-to photographer.

Jummy Bui was the best decision we made for our entire wedding! He made us feel comfortable and relaxed and the pictures truly captured our emotions. I found Jimmy here on weddingwire after browsing through hundreds of photographers, and after I checked his work, I knew I had to hire him. He truly has an artistic mindset to capture beautiful and elegant pictures, but he's also fun at heart and he recognized that our bridal party is nothing but a bunch of goofballs and he made sure we got some fun, creative pictures to reflect that. He found out that we were huge Walking Dead fans, so he shot a really cool action picture and "Zombified" us!

I would highly recommend Jimmy Bui Photography to any couple that is planning to get married, you'll be glad you did!

I must've looked at a lot of photographers, but what made Jimmy stand out was his creativity. I wanted not just a photog but an artist, and one that can share my vision. When we had out first meeting and within the first couple of minutes we knew we found our wedding photographer. On top of being an amazing visionary, he was very communicative, flexible, and patient with my crazy requests :) Please do take the time to check his work out and to meet with him. You'll be convinced liked I was that he's your perfect photographer :)

Jimmy Bui Photography was very professional and attentive to our needs. He captured beautiful moments at the wedding and reception that is priceless. The pictures were natural and not posed as I requested.
We did have to wait longer than anticipated, and we never received the slide show with music that I was told we would receive.

Terrible after our wedding was over

WARNING about using this photographer. He went back to full time teaching about a year ago. Since then he’s still does wedding photography but, he doesn’t deliver on the photographs. It takes him about 6 mths to a year and threatened lawsuits before he responds to emails or calls.! Read his most recent Yelp reviews! About a dozen warnings

Do not hire this vendor

It has been over 3 months since our wedding and I haven't received a thing, not even previews. He was recommended by our venue and I could not be more disappointed. He is nlt returning any communication.

His communication before the wedding was lacking and my coordinator thought we were going to have to have a backup photographer, thankfullyhe showed up but I really wish I had gone with another photographer.

Disappeared After Wedding

After our wedding he completely disappeared and stopped responded to emails and texts and calls. I went over 6 MONTHS without a single word from him and no pictures. I saw online he got a job as a photography teacher and tracked down his school email to contact him then I suddenly started getting responses of "you'll have them next week." Which of course I didn't. After non stop emails, calls and texts, I finally got my pictures after 9 months of waiting. And while they're lovely and I'm happy with them, they certainly aren't the magical photos advertised on his website, which was the reason we paid so much for him. I also never got my album that I paid for, and it's now been over a year since my wedding. He had me select the photos for the album, then disappeared again. At one point he told me he was having health issues and canceled all his 2022 weddings, but I've found other brides online with weddings he shot in 2022 that are fighting for their pictures, so that was clearly a lie.

Do not hire this photographer – scam alert!

I deeply regret hiring Jimmy for my wedding. After paying in full for a wedding album that I spent hours assembling according to his instructions, I was left with NOTHING. Despite numerous attempts to contact him, he has blocked me and refuses to provide the product I paid for.

This was supposed to be a cherished keepsake of one of the most important days of my life, and instead, I’m left with nothing but frustration and disappointment. His unprofessionalism and complete disregard for customer service are unacceptable.

I’m sharing my experience to warn others — if you value your memories and your money, avoid this photographer at all costs. There are too many reputable professionals out there to risk dealing with someone so dishonest.

Beware!!! Has withheld photos from many clients!

The reviews are all true. Wedding was in 2021 and silence after. He sent several emails begging for grace and additional time. It took getting a lawyer involved to get our photos. We requested the raw images so we could get them edited. The photos are pretty but it took a year to get them!!!

I have been contacted by many other brides with the same sad story. Please do not book this photographer.

Unforgivable for the most important day of my life.
Why not just give the raw images in the first place if that's what everyone ended up with?????

Worst Photographer Ever- Jimmy is a Fake

Like most brides to be I thought Wedding Wire was a great place to look for recommendations for any vendor we needed. That’s until I found Jimmy Bui the fake photographer through Wedding Wire. He lied and took all my money and never paid me back like he promised to do. I wish Wedding Wire would do a better job at this as we have so many of us who trust this website. I have attached proof of my experiences and the details with this fraudulent person.

Don’t hire him

We hired him back in 2019 and ended up having our wedding in 2022. 8 weeks after the wedding we reached out to Jimmy and he said it would take another 2 weeks for the pictures. Our text messages and emails were mostly ignored. When he did answer he was never true to his word and kept changing the deadline. We only got our pictures after 6 months because we mentioned talking to a lawyer. When we got the portraits and the girls getting ready, I was pretty disappointed in what he sent. For example, he only sent 2 pictures of our getting ready pictures with my bridesmaids in our robes. Even the pictures with our bridal party he only sent 2. I always dreamed of what my wedding pictures would look like but he made the whole thing a nightmare.

Proceed With Caution

I'm not one who writes reviews so please believe me when I say proceed with caution. Over a year ago my fiancé and I purchased Jimmy's services. We chose him because of his artistic ability and beautiful photos. Unfortunately, he failed to deliver on our engagement shoot. It never happened because he botched the permit needed for the shoot. He also admitted that he completely dropped the ball. I didn't feel comfortable trusting him with our wedding based on this experience. We cancelled his services and he promised he would give us 100% of our deposit back. Despite promising 100%, he essentially promised 50% up front and made the last 50% continent on rescheduling his shooters. As many of us know, it's pretty standard for a retainer but I trusted he would follow through on his promise. After trying to negotiate a fair timeframe for payment since October 2018, I ultimately signed the cancellation contract January 2019 to at least recover 50% of my money back. Despite signing the cancellation contact in January, I have yet to see a dime of my money. Our wedding is in May 2019. Jimmy has stopped responding to our calls and messages. Based on his social media, he is leaving the photography business in 2020.
