User2646205 Sent on 06/13/2016I give full marks with no absolutely no hesitation! Jill assembled a string quartet for our wedding to play the classics that I love. The playing was exquisitely beautiful, top-notch and everything I could have wanted. She even played favourite pieces of mine that the quartet had never played before, when I had scores arranged for her and the other musicians. The music was a highlight of a beautiful day, and had everyone glowing and talking. Jill was very professional and reassured me many times when I had questions or concerns (she has done hundreds of weddings and it shows!!)
I plan to hire Jill again when if/when we renew our vows, and would not hesitate to have her play any event where world-class strings are needed. Fantastic!! -
User1636892 Sent on 05/28/2014Jill Daley is an absolutely fantastic ceremony musician and I would highly recommend her to any and all looking for musical accompaniment.
Jill organized a trio for me (violin, viola and cello) to play for my wedding ceremony that was at a private farm in Cambridge, Ontario. She and the group were able to provide a whole variety of light contemporary music for before the ceremony, and when she didn't have the piece that I had my heart set on for the processional in her repertoire (Book of Love) she actually commissioned the piece for me (and it was fabulous). It is really hard to find groups of musicians who will do contemporary in additional to classic trio pieces, so finding Jill was just a joy.
Jill was always quick to respond to e-mails and happy to answer any and all questions / cater to requests. She was also incredibly professional and flexible - the day of the wedding it rained on and off but I desperately wanted to have the ceremony outside. Jill and her group patiently waited inside until it cleared up and then at the last minute change to an outdoor location, which was so much appreciated and really fabulous of them to risk their instruments like that, especially given that the chance of rain was still there (we offered to cover with umbrellas in case of a downpour).
Long story short - I got the exact ceremony I was looking for, a beautifully arranged piece and wonderful memories to last a lifetime. Couldn't be happier. -
User1723960 Sent on 07/21/2014Jill and her quartet provided the music for our ceremony and for the cocktail hour following. She was professional and courteous throughout the whole process.
We had decided on our music for the ceremony about 2 months before the day. Some of it was written for orchestra, so I was concerned that we'd wouldn't be able to find sheet music. Even though it was a piece rarely performed by a quartet, Jill was able to track down a copy of it after a few days of looking. We got exactly what we wanted.
The quartet arrived on time at De La Salle College (Toronto) and properly dressed for our wedding. They took care of setting themselves up and barely needed anything from our day-of coordinator. They were tuned and ready to play as the first guests started to arrive. The ceremony went perfectly: they skillfully adapted the length of the music to fill the time allotted for each part (entrance, signing exit, etc.).
Afterwards, they were happy to relocate for the cocktails. Even though it was crowded and noisy, many of our guests commented on their great choice of music as they mixed classical and contemporary. They covered everything from Mozart to the Beatles. They even slipped in some Beach Boys for the father of the bride. Jill was very upfront about cost and overtime options, and she never pressured or bullied us. When they finished, they were so quiet as they slipped out the door that we almost didn't have a chance to thank them!
I would strongly recommend Jill for your wedding if you want skilled musicians who are punctual and reliable. -
User1724504 Sent on 07/21/2014Brilliant. Jill was courteous, quick to respond, professional, and the music provided for our ceremony and cocktail reception was better than I had imagined. All our guests were blown away.
Highly, highly recommended.
