Jess was everything we could have hoped for in a wedding photographer - kind, fun, talented, prompt, organized...
It's difficult to look for a photographer you're engaged. How do you know what you're looking for when you're sorting through websites and have never had professional photos taken? We were so lost. After talking with several photographers and sorting through heaps of websites, we're SO GLAD we went with Jess. Her website reflects her as a wedding photographer so if you enjoy her work there you won't be disappointed. She was so kind and knowledgeable in our online meetings, and once we booked with her we instantly felt like we had a friend on our team. She helped plan our timeline, our next steps, recommended vendors, and even advised us on how to be more eco-friendly. Her presence translated well to our wonderful engagement shoot as well - it felt easy and fun and all our doubts about taking nice photos on the day of melted away. She had so many gorgeous shots from just one hour - we were blown away.
Jess is a wonderful choice for couples like us that value warmth, authenticity, and ease and could use a gentle guide. Her photos are full of love and light, she is engaging and creative, subtle yet takes charge. Our wedding day was full of so much love in so many different forms, and she was there quietly capturing it all. We love looking back on our (enormous, beautiful) wedding gallery as a way to be transported back to the day, which is exactly what we hoped our wedding photos would do. She got everything - intimate portraits, classic shots, big family photos, whimsical scenes, detail photos, and even silly group shots. She captured how beautiful I felt and made it all feel genuine and easy. Plus, she is so professional and got the photos and sneak peeks back to us SO QUICKLY.
We never regretted hiring Jess as a photographer and don't think you will either. We strongly recommend her. -

Going into my first professional photo shoot I was honestly very nervous especially not having met her before. I didn’t know what to expect, immediately walking in I was welcomed by the sweetest soul ever the music in the background, definitely calmed my nerves and helped us jam out. It didn’t feel like I was walking into a stranger’s house that I had never met before. It felt like I had known her for years when agreeing to do that shoot with her, I felt as if it was super important to find someone with all the same values as me and with her website, being very detailed as I learned more about her Jess met all of them I can 100% say with the high quality photos and the warm welcoming Id definitely recommend her to anyone!! -

One of our biggest challenges with planning our wedding was trying to find queer friendly vendors. After finding multiple glowing reviews online, we were able to connect with Jess. We did interview a couple other potential photographers, but it was no contest when it came down to who we wanted to pick. The quality of the examples we saw, the level of professionalism, and really just the vibe when we spoke to each other was exactly what we were looking for. She made the whole process seamless, and we knew exactly what to expect for each meeting. Communication was awesome throughout the whole process. Meeting in person for our engagement shoot and the wedding itself really helped solidify that we picked the right person. She made both photoshoots about as fun as possible, while still being efficient with time, and direct with her guidance regarding how to pose. We love the pictures we got back and had a blast looking through them. She even took the time to coordinate what time she should send them, so wife and I could view them at the same time. If you're looking for someone queer friendly, with great communication, a stress-free photography experience, and photos you will LOVE, we 1000% recommend Jess! -

Working with Jessica Knighton Photography was hands down one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding.
From the first time we reached out, she was the most helpful a human could be—from walking through a possible timeline before we even committed to hiring her to sending her wedding guide with tips and tricks and suggestions for other vendors and going along with our not-so-conventional pool party engagement shoot, she made two awkward introverts feel so comfortable both with and without her camera pointed at them. Of all the variety of vendors I spoke with, Jess exceeded every expectation in a way nobody else was able to. She was so kind checking in with us throughout the entire planning process, delivered both our galleries so quickly, and most of all DELIVERED with the best photos to help us remember our day.
We simply adored every single one of the photos... like, in a wanna lay on the floor and scream about it, sing her praises from every mountain top even though I'm not a hiker, accidentally send her a thousand and one heart-eyed emojis, bend the knee because forget Sansa Stark she is MY queen of the north type of way. They all feel so very "us" in a way that would be almost frightening if it wasn't so impressive. In a year, or five, or ten or fifty, I can't wait to look back and remember all the little details, how much love we felt, and how much fun it all was. It'll be easy to do because it's written in every picture a thousand times over.
I would recommend working with Jess in every universe. She's truly the best in the biz. Especially if you have a two year old niece as your flower girl who isn't so sure about the whole "photos" thing, because she'll probably be very sure of Jess and even smile a time or two. If you don't believe me, ask literally anybody in my family (we still talk about how great she is a frankly concerning amount). -

The biggest challenge that we faced in finding a photographer for our wedding was finding someone that both Jarl and I connected with. We met so many photographers at a wedding fair, many that I liked, many that Jarl did not. LOL However, we met Jess at a wedding event at our venue and the second we walked away after chatting with her, we looked at each other and just knew. Jess has this super chill, relaxed, easy to talk with vibe that we KNEW we wanted at our wedding.
We aren’t super PDA people, and thought we would totally wreck our engagement photos. Jess just let us be natural but also guided us to some poses that didn’t make us look like we were in those classic awkward family photos! And the photos we got back were fantastic!
Moving forward to our actual wedding – Jess was better than we ever dreamed. She kept in contact up to the date and helped make sure we had a plan for the day. Her 2nd photographer was also amazing (she knows how to pick ‘em!).
We got sneak peeks back from Jess 2 DAYS AFTER OUR WEDDING and a full gallery back 3 WEEKS AFTER OUR WEDDING! We were shocked at how quickly things came back, but also how BEAUTIFUL every single photo was! She was able to grab us in our posed moments, our candid moments, and even our guests’ candid moments in a way that all the love just shines through in the photos. We were able to truly re-live our entire day through her photos.
We would both 100% recommend Jess to anyone looking for a photographer. She is professional from start to finish, and you will not be disappointed with the results!

Person, Easy, Talented, & Fun!
Jess has been our go-to photographer since the beginning. I always felt that the quality of the photos and the editing were exactly what I was looking for. Very effortlessly natural and in times even candid. The focus was always on my partner and I and our time together. Receiving the product after the engagement and wedding was such a joy. The mood and vibe of my wedding was captured perfectly. There was an excellent balance of what I asked for in terms of family, friend, party, couple, and detail photos. My wedding was very dark/moody and she easily accomplished the similar goal with the photos. I felt heard when there were issues that arose the day of and we always worked to solve it in a way that we would get the photos we needed. In addition, she chose and AMAZING second photographer that she knew would jive with us as well. Lastly, they were excellent at wrangling large, rambunctious families and remaining professional which I’ll be forever grateful for. I’m so, SO impressed with her talent. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone I think would be a good fit for her. -

Jess is the best!
Jess was really amazing to work with! My wife and I are extremely grateful to have found and had Jess as our photographer for our wedding. When we were looking for a photographer, we wanted someone who had experience with working with a diverse clientele. We came across Jess's Instagram and was hooked right then and there.
Her photos were amazing and she had various clients from different backgrounds. Also, we did not want someone who put that lame filter that is trendy for some reason. It's the one that makes everything brown, which Jess did not have or do. When we met with Jess, she was extremely nice and listened to what we wanted for our photos. We also loved her practice on sustainability. That is something my wife and I have instilled in our values. My wife and I were going to have a small legal wedding then a reception a couple months later. Jess was booked for our reception but was able to our legal wedding.
Jess was so easy to work with. We had so much fun during the photo sessions. There was lots of laughing and positive energy all together. She helped make our special day even more special. When we got our photos, we were in awe how great they were. My wife and I are beyond grateful for Jess and cannot recommend her enough when people are inquiring for a photographer for their engagement and wedding photos. For our reception, Marina, the associate that Jess connected us with, was amazing as well! She was also fun to work with and took some amazing photos. Overall it was a extremely amazing experience. Thank you so much Jess for all you do! -

Best. Photographer. Ever.
Everything Jess did exceeded our expectations. From the pre-wedding questionnaire/sheet to help us as well as Jess get organized, to the offer to use her inventory of recyclable wedding items (I.e. ring box, umbrellas, etc.), to touring our venue with us in advance to get a feel for the grounds, and of course working with us day-of to capture all the moments that were important to us, managing our camera shyness incredibly well by taking our thoughts off the fact that we were the center of attention, and finally to sending us a short video clip approximately two hours after our wedding ended that we didn’t know she was taking. And we haven’t even gotten to the quality or quantity of the photos yet. We loved every single photo. Yes, all 1300+ of them. We have looked at them time and time again and are always taken back to our special day. We cannot thank Jess enough for absolutely everything. We will cherish the moments she captured for us forever. -

I contacted Jessica three days before I propose to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day 2021. Jessica took the opportunity without hesitation. She took incredible proposal pictures in the freezing cold of February. My fiancé and I decided that we wanted her to do our engagement and wedding photos. She was very proactive in her communication. She told us what to expect from her and she delivered on her promises. Our families were very appreciative of her quality pictures and how she included so many beautiful details about our wedding day. My wife and I recommend Jessica without reservation. Book Jessica, you won't regret it. She will work with you and deliver a product that reflects your authenticity. -

When my (now) husband and I were looking for a photographer for our wedding, we were hoping to find someone that would help us to make memories and enhance our wedding day. We didn't want it to feel like an obligation in any way. Jessica has a fun personality, and was extremely helpful with the experience!
She encouraged doing an engagement photoshoot (which we probably would have skipped), and it turned out to be a fun day filled with laughs. It helped us to feel comfortable working with a photographer, and erased any thought or worry we had about photos on the actual wedding day!
It was also very easy to communicate with Jessica. She helped us to make a plan of what kinds of photos we wanted to walk away with, as well as a schedule of when and where to do family/couple photos. She delivered the photos in a timely manner and it was incredibly easy to work with them!
I'm grateful we had her on our team, and would highly recommend working with her! -

Outdoor Fall Wedding
Jessica did an awesome job with our wedding photography. She helped us come up with a photography timeline for the day and made sure everything got done on time! She was so easy to work with and made the poses feel natural. Our final pictures were absolutely beautiful. -

Everything we were looking for
Jessica was incredible during both our engagement shoot and the day of the wedding. She made a point to sit down with us and get to know us a little bit before having any sort of shoot, which made the day-of feel like meeting up with a friend instead of just a photographer. She was also willing to work with us on dates, since our original date got pushed back a bit due to COVID. She went above and beyond on our wedding day and was literally everywhere. SO many people remarked afterward about how great the photographer was! She did an awesome job of capturing candid shots and shots that didn't feel super staged. Jess also does an awesome job talking you through awkward shots--to get the ones that look candid, it is a lot of walking in a weird way or posing in a way that feels unnatural because Jess knows what that pose will look like on camera. The shots all turned out awesome, and for both the engagement shoot and the wedding day, she got us a sneak peek (which ended up being a ton of the photos!) within a week. Very happy with our time with Jess and with the finished product! I also love that she is conscientious about where to get photos printed so that it is a local company that is environmentally friendly, and that she provided both high res and web sized images so that we could easily upload to social media for all the people who couldn't be at the wedding. 15/10 would recommend Jess to anyone looking for a great photographer! -
