Simply the Best

Jess captures the most beautiful raw moments in her photos. We get compliments daily on how amazing our photographer was with our wedding photos. Jess is extremely well organized and responds quickly to your emails. She has her own great timeline but our only regret is we didn't write down a list of additional photos we wanted with others. She was able to find us a great second shooter for our wedding day which helped capture more moments throughout the day.

Jessica was absolutely great to work with, and her photos are amazing. We did an engagement photo shoot with her earlier this year, and it was such a good way to get to know her and have a ‘trial run’ before our big day. We met several times throughout the process to talk through the details, and by the time our wedding day came, it felt like we were being photographed by a friend. Having that feeling of friendship and confidence in the quality of her work allowed us to enjoy the day and not stress about the photos, as we knew she had it under control. We highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for an excellent photographer, and will definitely encourage our friends and family to use her in the future!

New born family photos

Jessica is incredible! I do not love having my picture taken, but from the moment she entered our home - her calming presence put everyone at ease. Having Jessica photograph our elopement ceremony was potentially the second best decision we've ever made as a couple - the first being the decision to get married in the first place! It was awesome having her there, and her calm energy helped us stay on track and ever in the moment. Our ceremony was tiny - just us, Jessica, our celebrant, and a second witness - so there wasn't much structure. Not only did Jessica capture beautiful photos, but she helped us craft a story out of our wedding day. While we were a mess of nerves and excitement, she stayed grounded. She's so open and approachable that we both felt natural and like ourselves around her. Simultaneously, her focus was sharp, and she worked hard to capture every moment of our day. The results are breathtaking. The photos turned out stunning. We really couldn't have asked for a better person to capture our wedding, and anyone would be lucky to be a client of Jessica's. 6/5 stars.

I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough! I echo the praise of her many other reviewers - she was extremely flexible and easy to communicate with, she was a kind and calm presence on our wedding day, and she returned our photos to us less than 2 weeks after the wedding. And then the photos - I could go on and on about how much we love our photos! Jessica did a beautiful job of capturing the posed portraits of us and our families that we wanted, and also got SO many wonderful candid shots. Each part of our day is beautifully documented with photos of everyone smiling, laughing, crying, and dancing. Every single one of our 80 guests appears in more than one photo, and the vast majority of them are captured several times throughout the day. The people with us on that day are so important to us, and it is so meaningful to have them featured in our photos. We have received countless compliments, and people have repeatedly specifically said "wow, you had an excellent photographer!" Thank you so much, Jessica! We are so grateful to have had you photograph our wedding and will cherish our photos forever!

My fiancé and I just got our photos back from our engagement session and we could not be happier. Jessica was so open and receptive to our ideas and brought them to life in a way I couldn't have even imagined. We felt so comfortable throughout the session (even while standing on the edge of a cliff) that it honestly felt like spending time with a friend who just also happened to be taking gorgeous photos of us. She got our photos back to us in FOUR DAYS! I couldn't believe it. You honestly don't need to look any further. Jessica's talent is unlike anyone else! Can not wait for her to shoot our wedding next year!

We’ve just finished our engagement session with Jessica, and her work has completely blown us away.

Her photography captures intimacy. It’s intentional, but not forced. By looking at her work you can tell she really cares about what she does. She's able to capture vulnerability without making you feel exposed during the photo session. Jessica is generous with the space she gives you to feel comfortable. She is passionate not only about capturing moments, but about capturing a moment in your life. She’s is an artist.

Jessica has a calming presence. She is a total professional, but is also approachable. We felt so comfortable working with her, and the results of her familiarity and ease can be seen in the photos.

Jessica will be the photographer for our elopement wedding in the late winter, and we are so excited! If you have the opportunity to book this talented photographer - DO IT!!

Jessica has an incredible gift for capturing love on camera. We had an engagement session with her, and she was a dream to work with. She was super flexible in finding a date that worked for us, helped us plan a fun activity (canoeing!!!), and made us feel completely at ease in front of her camera. She went above and beyond (scrambling through the brush, wading in mucky water, etc.) to get beautiful shots of the two of us. Her pictures show us being our real, normal selves - but they are somehow so magical and elevated. You can see the care and love that she puts into her work. We are so looking forward to having her with us on our wedding day!

I've been a fan of Jessica's work for a long time so it felt very right to ask her to photograph my baby and me.
I love the passion she has for her work as well as her creativity... but the best part is the images and I'll tell you something, the pictures I have from my session with Jessica will truly be treasured for a lifetime. They're absolutely gorgeous. The most precious moments that I never want to forget have been beautifully captured and I feel very confident in giving her 5-stars... wish I could give more!

This amazing lady has captured all the big moments for us as our little family has grown, and I recommend her so highly! She's done my maternity photos (so artistic, creative, and beautiful!), newborn session (those moments go by so fast and she did a great job!!), and our family/first-year photos for our little baby girl. While looking through our wedding photos, friends, family and my husband and I were obviously gloating over our special day. But the comments I consistently received were about how magical Jess' photography style is and how awesome she was on the day of our wedding, and I couldn't agree more. She captured my vision effortlessly! Jess has an amazing down-to-earth personality that is reflected in her approach to photography. I chose Jess for her creative eye and unconventional style, but what I got on my wedding day was so much more. She quietly captured subtle moments and the big moments that my husband and I will cling onto forever through our walls and frames. What's more is that she took the time to do an in-home session with us before the big day to get to know us and warm us up to her photography style. Jessica's work is so real and raw, but in a really pretty way. She captures moments beautifully. You can tell she loves what she does. She's really fun and made my husband comfortable in front of the camera too. I would highly recommend her! Her photos tell a story and make you feel the same things you were feeling in that moment. We had a family photo session with Jessica in our home. She made us feel very comfortable the whole time even when our baby wasn't necessarily very cooperative! ?? She delivered wonderful photos very quickly to us via an online portal after our session and after reviewing the photos we were so pleased to see that she had captured some very special moments to us. I wrote a previous review on our engagement session and I can only say I was not surprised when she wowed us once again with amazing photos. I don't know how she did it but there were so many wonderful candid shots, funny ones, precious and beautiful ones. Definitely memories we'll treasure for a lifetime. She was easily blended into the background, barely noticeable during the ceremony or dances yet commanded the audience of a crazy wedding party and family well. We felt respected and so valued and her second photographer was just as good. We would HIGHLY recommend Jessica!!!

This is the second time we have had the pleasure of working with Jessica. If it was up to me I would have her photograph my son every few months. Kids grow so fast and her photos bring so much joy to us. I will use her for all of our family photos for as long as possible. I think the best way to describe her work is she captures the energy, essence, soul, and breath of the person. She sees the love and joy in a family and brings that into the photo. She is so relaxed that our baby was so happy and he took the most amazing photos. Our family and friends swoon over them. I also love how easy it is for family members to order photos from her website, this is an added bonus. She also sends you TONS of photos, you get all of them. No stress about just picking a few of your favorites.

This photographer is amazing!
Jessica has been incredible with us the whole way! From meeting for coffee, talking over the phone to meeting us at our desired photography spot, she's flexible, reliable, professional. She is also so kind and made us feel so comfortable and relaxed; it was as if no one was even watching my fiance and I have fun on our little "date." The images she captured were magical- beautiful lighting, angles and clarity. It was truly a gift to us. I can't wait to see the images she'll capture for our wedding.

This chick knows her stuff, so you don't have to. I ended up consulting Jessica on so many things beyond photography for my wedding - from timelines to "what's normal" emotionally on the roller coaster of planning. She helped ease every anxiety I had in the planning stages (including the fear that my husband and I are "not picture people"), and rolled with the stress of the big day like a champ. It was reassuring to see her being so calm in the midst of my perceived chaos! All that aside, her pictures are absolutely beautiful. We wanted to have pictures that felt authentic, and that's what we got. We will cherish the photos of our ceremony forever - they do such a fabulous job of perfectly capturing that moment in time. We have big families and "had" to take A LOT of formal photos - even those were infused with personality and charm. The candids are what it's all about though, and I'm so glad we hired a photographer who let the day flow naturally and captured all the best parts instead of pulling us out of the moment for staged photos or posing us in cutesy positions. Hiring a photographer to capture your love and help you celebrate this special time in your life is so important! Your photos are one of the only physical records you walk away with that preserve the magic of your engagement and wedding, it's one of the most valuable investments you can make. We are SO over the moon happy we chose and trusted Jessica, she did an amazing job with our engagement photos and exceeded our expectations. To us, it wasn't just about good quality photos, we wanted someone to really capture our love for each other, our heart for adventure, and tell a story about our lives and new home together in the Pacific Northwest. We wanted our photos to be uniquely us, and I feel that is something Jessica already strives for as a photographer. Her sessions are all about the couple and telling their individual stories, it's a personalized and natural experience.

Working with Jessica is a wedding planning dream, it's clear she is passionate and makes work a top priority. From the beginning, she has been incredibly timely, responsive, accommodating, and friendly. This was our first time in five years ever doing a photo shoot together so naturally we were a bit nervous, but that was quickly put at ease by Jessica's calming demeanor which she carried through the whole shoot. We had a SO MUCH FUN exploring around like little kids while she captured moments we thought might be missed but more so she caught moments we didn't even know were there. She guided us when we needed it but mostly gave us the space to be our un-posed selves, which is why I think we are so in love with our photos. They show our natural mannerisms, facial expressions, and interaction with each other which is something that you can't replicate or ask for, it's in the talent of the photographer.
We had the best time and still talking about how the experience has been one of our favorite days exploring and how memorable it was. We can't thank Jessica enough and highly recommend her!!

So far, so great!

Jessica came recommended to us from a friend. When we first met with Jessica, we walked away thinking, "this is someone who is practical, timely, responsive, not going to be cheesy, and is so aligned with us" – perfect! Her price is competitive if you're looking for high-quality (I think the value and quality surpasses some of the more expensive photographers I found), but to us, hiring a photographer was one thing we did not want to skimp on, and we were straight forward with Jessica about this. What good are discount photos that you hate looking at and regret? We want photos we can remember and be proud of, and we know that a quality craftsman that gets us is worth it. Originally, we didn't expect to do an engagement session, but it was included in Jessica's rate. This session helped everyone involved get more comfortable with each other before our big day comes around. As a designer, I just cannot wait to use these engagement photos on our wedding website – it's going to look killer with the photos she took! We'll also love to look back on these candid shots in the future (I'm sure!).

Jessica has also been very accommodating for us so far, and I expect will continue to be as planning continues. We love that we were able to pick out a few locations that really fit our lifestyle and would help capture who we are. When the weather was way too cold on our originally planned day, Jessica was very responsive in gaging the temperature with me all week, until it just got so cold that I wanted to reschedule – Jessica was very accommodating, and it all turned out perfect! I cannot say that she promises a one-day turn-around on edited photos (I'm sure it depends on her schedule), but she seems so passionate about her work – She dove right in and delivered us our photos the next evening, which was exciting and unexpected! I'm excited to work with her on our wedding day photo schedule/other details, as well as taking the photos on our wedding day!

We had Jessica do our engagement photos back in February 2015 in Minnesota and loved how they came out! She was very easy to work with and made us feel comfortable during the session. We had such a blast during the shoot and loved our photos so much, that we have even booked her for our wedding day in the Pacific Northwest in October 2016! Jessica's strong artistic eye speaks for itself in her photos, but it is also so easy to develop a relationship with her as a businesswoman. All of my messages to her had responses within hours, but usually within minutes. Her flexibility is also not to be undervalued, and she happily drove across town with us to take photos with only a 24 hour notice, just because it was both snowy and not bitter cold. Not only was the quality of her work dreamy, she sent us all 350 photos the very next day after our shoot!

I do want to be honest though-- if you want someone who will nitpick about how you look, adjusting you inches and micromanaging your every pose, Jessica may not be the right fit for you. She will not make you look like Barbie, nor manipulate your reactions for the best shot. Instead, Jessica calmly captures your story and love in a much more natural way, finding your beauty in a way that you most likely overlook.

Jessica is amazing. From our very first email it was clear that she is dedicated to producing images that her clients love but that she feels strongly about. She was the first of 5 photographers to answer my inquiry email with direct pricing information and a personal message. After meeting with her, it was clear that her calm demeanor is exactly what we need. In our engagement session, she let us explore poses but offered specific direction when needed. I was exceptionally nervous the entire time, but the images (luckily) don't really show it. I'm looking forward to our wedding photos!

Update: Jessica brought a calming and supportive air to our smallish wedding. She was so helpful in the getting ready process that she even drove my husband home to get his forgotten bow tie. She allowed me to ask her advice on a lot of wedding stuff not related to photos which was very helpful. She captured beautiful images of our guests. One of my favorite things was how we photographed other couples at our wedding and the kids in the group. Beautiful images. The only advice I have is that for the camera shy, be clear about what poses/smiles/situations you liked or didn't like for your engagement photos or prompt her for more direction if you are feeling a bit weird. She likes to be more hands off and let things unfold which makes for excellent candids. For formals and individual images I wish I had asked more questions but that isn't a reflection of her work at all. She has an insane turn around rate-- giving us our wedding photos in 2 days! TLDR; HIRE HER!

She is very sweet and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is a hard thing for me to feel. Our wedding pictures were STUNNING! They way she captured our special moments left me speechless while I was looking though them . I would and have recommended her to anyone who is looking for a photographer .

This is the third time we have worked with Jessica and once again we were not let down! She has done our engagement photos and this time it was the wedding. We could not be more pleased with our photos. We can literally relive our wedding through these photos. Jessica does more than just document your day. She catches all of the emotion, excitement and reactions of the day. The amount of life she captured in our photos is unreal, when I look at the pictures I can literally see myself doing the things that I remember saying and doing throughout the day. I can look at the pictures and see laughter and remember exactly what we were laughing at, at that particular moment. No posed photos with fake, forced smiles. She lets you live in your moment. She captures genuine emotion and reactions. Also, it rained on our wedding day, Jess somehow managed to bring this calming energy before the ceremony and kept me calm. Our music also didn't work, her and the second shooter ran and got a laptop so there would be music at the ceremony! She really went above and beyond. We only had to wait 2 weeks for our pictures to come back to us, which is awesome. Upon getting our photos I was worried that she didn't capture certain things at the ceremony and other parts of the day because she is AMAZING at blending in, I seriously had NO CLUE she was at the ceremony photographing it. She nailed it, she captured everything we wanted and more.

We are so glad we had Jessica there to document our day. We can't wait to share our photos with everyone and we can't wait to look back on these photos for years to come! THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH! <3

There was never any question of who would photograph my wedding day, it was always going to be Jessica. Her style of showing up, being present, with her camera at the ready, to capture the most meaningful, authentic, and seemingly insignificant moments is pure magic. She takes time to meet with and understand each couple so that she can deliver photos that truly resonate on a personal level, capturing every big moment and every in-between memory. Her calm and confident demeanor puts you at ease on the big day, its such a gift to know that you'll never find yourself looking for the photographer to capture a moment, because she already is. She was such a fun presence during the day, even up for climbing down a (semi) mountain to capture photos along the river shore! The final product is pure gold. I can't believe other couples wait weeks to see their pictures. Our photos are gorgeous. We can't get enough of flipping through the images, little memories of that amazing day coming back and filling us with joy and happiness all over again. I can already imagine looking at these pictures on future anniversaries and feeling the love pour over us. Thank you Jessica, your spirit shines through your work, and it is beautiful.

If you are looking to capture the story of your wedding day and not just some posed pictures Jessica is your woman! Her images are stunning but most importantly she captures YOU and your loved one! Jessica has such passion for her work and it is clearly visible in the passion that is portrayed in the moments she captures.

A little disclaimer, I've been following Jessica's work since she began pursuing it a few years ago, and was thrilled that she was able to bring her quiet peace to our wedding day, to let the beauty be recognized, and celebrated. Man, she is talented. As a same-gender couple, one of our fears was feeling awkward and different with a photographer or any other vendor; Jessica immediately made us feel at home in her presence, what a relief to the both of us. After our meet and greet at our, and her favorite coffee shop in Duluth, we looked at each other, smiled and knew she would be able to capture the vision that neither of us was able to describe. It is evident through our beautiful photos that she didn't need words to describe our vision for the day but rather, felt it right along with us. As we unexpectedly welcomed our niece to the world, between our ceremony and reception, Jessica was so accommodating in making a pit stop at the hospital to see her, cuddle her and incorporate the new mama and baby into the day.(Not to mention that she even set up her other camera to record the ceremony for my sister in law!) And after the long day, she was able to get our pictures to us less than 2 days later! That's commitment to her work and the couples she works with! We have and will continue to recommend her to anyone who will listen. Not only is Jessica an exceptionally talented photographer, but a true artist and one of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. Book her! You'll have no regrets!

We had the privilege of having Jessica photograph our growing family. She took breathtaking photos of our new baby!

While we have known Jessica since before my husband and I got married, she was "just starting out" back then. I KICK myself often for not hiring her to do our wedding photos. Even when she was new to the scene her wedding photography put ours (professional, as well) to shame. Her work has just continued to mature with each wedding she does, and I enjoy seeing her facebook updates of the beautiful brides, ceremonies, and parties she captures.

Book her, seriously! Don't regret NOT hiring her.

Oh. My. Gosh!!!!!!! Jess was my SAVIOR!!!!!!! After going through two local photographers, I found Jessica Holleque. Jess is from Minnesota, obviously. I am from Kentucky! Jess took the time to get to know me, reassured me for months while I freaked out wanting perfection, and then flew ALL THE WAY TO KENTUCKY to be a part of my big day!!!!!!! She was by my side from start to finish, and she was an absolute joy. She has such a calming spirit, and she knows how to make the most nervous or awkward person feel at ease. What impressed me the most was that she was able to capture absolutely everything all by herself. Jess was incredibly efficient, and incredibly organized. I could not have had a better experience, and after firing two…… I really needed her. I would recommend her to ANYONE ANYWHERE!!!!!! I will absolutely hire her again, and I will absolutely make her get her butt back to Kentucky!!!!!!

We were so very pleased with Jessica and would highly recommend her as a photography for anyone that wants to capture the beauty of their big day. From the engagement photos to the wedding day and everything in between, Jessica was nothing but professional. She was prompt in responding to every question and made us feel at ease every step of the way. She offered to meet to talk through any questions we had multiple times and made sure she got all of the shots we wanted and then some. She is create and her photographs are downright beautiful. We couldn't be happier with the choice to go with Jessica for our photography and recommend checking her out. Her prices are reasonable and her work is some of the best I've seen.

Jessica recently did our wedding photos . Not only did she capture moments that no one else could have captured but she did so with the most natural of touches . Jessica was very good at communicating with us to ensure that she knew what we wanted and that she was able to get it for us . She worked with us with a time frame to help us throughout the day , she is affordable and provided the quickest return of photos we have ever gotten !! And they are absolutely amazing . Jessica is such a gift to the MN wedding community. We started working with Jessica about a year before our wedding, & I am so grateful for her sweet heart, calming presence, and sound advice she offered us along the way. Her photographs tell stories. She is brilliant in her ability to capture the subtle moments and candid moments of your day and of your love. Our photographs are beautiful--soft & breezy--and I tear up when I page through them because they do such a remarkable job of reflecting the joy & love of that day. ((Our engagement snaps are precious, too. I'm so grateful to have an album of pictures that authentically capture that stage in our relationship)).

Jessica is a dream to work with--responsive, attentive, creative, and kind. Jessica recently did our engagement pictures which turned out more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for. She took the time to listen to us in order to capture who we are as individuals and a couple. She is a calming and lovely person who was able to relax two anxious people for devastatingly beautiful pictures. She is so encouraging and kind and also very quick in responding to emails and quick with returning photographs. I absolutely loved having her take our engagement pictures and I cannot wait for her to photograph our wedding and be part of our day!

The photographer was one of the wedding decisions I felt VERY strongly about. My husband and I weeded through countless photographer websites and reviews before we found Jessica. After looking at her portfolio and chatting over Skype I was knew she was the photographer for us! Her "capture the moments" style was exactly what I had been searching for. Jessica was responsive and helpful through the entire planning process. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early and made sure to capture the moments I outlined in the weeks leading up to the big day. Although I selected her for her "capture the moment" style, she was also able to capture the formal shots as well. It's rare to find a photographer that is good at both! Jessica was extremely accommodating and she had great energy the day of. My husband and I were married on Friday and she had our photos complete by Sunday! I can't even express how beautifully they turned out! I had very high expectations and Jessica surpassed them all! I can't wait to hang them up in our home and look back at them for years to come.

Where do I even begin to explain how awesome a photographer Jessica is. She has such a kind and wonderful soul that you know when she takes your photos that something magical is going to happen. The reason I love Jessica and her photos so much is because she puts her heart and soul into these photos and I don't feel that you get that anywhere else. Jessica did a fantastic job with both our engagement and wedding photos. Her dedication and love of photography really are shown through her work. We felt completely comfortable with her in a way that we hardly even knew she was taking photos! She helps guide you into a way that is natural and beautiful. The sessions themselves went very smoothly and we were so thankful for her patience throughout the wedding day and managing to get as many photos in as she did with a shortened timeline. Jessica is incredibly talented, her calm nature made me (spazy awkward, uncomfortable in front of a camera gal) feel comfortable and at ease. Never did she make my husband or I feel like we needed to pose or look for her to catch a moment. What more could we have wanted?! First and foremost, Jessica was delightful. My wife and I were so impressed with the experience of working with Jess that we hardly remember her presence [other than she was fun and CALMING]. We were fortunate enough to have Jessica shoot both our engagement and be a second camera for our wedding photos and they were incredible. The way that she seems to have captured the authenticity of our holy moments together and offer only small adjustments and encouragement during her work- she was graceful and a true artist. What was most evident to us was that Jessica is deeply passionate about her craft and that she is overwhelmingly meticulous with what she captures. Unlike other friends of ours who had frustrating experiences and struggled with their wedding photographers, Jessica was finished editing quickly and returned beautiful, polished, HD photographs to us in mere weeks after our wedding day. Jessica photographed my wedding day. I was blown away at how beautiful the photos turned out, I know so much of this had to do with the person behind the camera.  This girl has such a talent and love for what she does. Her photos told our story perfectly. She has a gift for capturing the feeling in an image. I LOVE our candid/natural shots! She catches those little special moments that you thought were missed.  In each photo you get a sense of the love in the atmosphere. I've gotten so many compliments from people when they look at our wedding album, the most common word I've heard is "breataking", and that's exactly what her pictures did to me. The first time I looked at them I was speechless and in tears.
Jessica blended in so well with my family, friends, and all the chaos that goes along with the wedding day. She made me feel so comfortable from our first intereaction to our last shot. The day of my wedding was wet and rainy and she dealt with it like a champ.  She was so laid back and calm which helped me be calm, something any bride would appreciate!
Jessica is very effecient. She made sure all of our needs were met from the start. I am so incredibly thankful to her for doing such an awesome job.  She went so far above and beyond any of my expectations!  I love looking back on my wedding day through my pictures and reliving it all over again with every photo! Thank you Jessica!
