Jessica was a pleasure to work with for my bridal makeup. She helped me to achieve a look that was glam but not heavy-handed; it photographed great and didn't budge all night! The bold lip -- swoon. My friends and family were also very happy with their makeup styling and Jessica was communicative, organized, and easygoing throughout. :)Jessica D'Amore Makeup Artist's reply:

We had a lot of changes leading up to my sister's big day and Jessica stayed in touch with me and flexible with all the changes. She did a fantastic job keeping every woman's wishes in mind and modified her efforts depending on how "glam" everyone wanted to be. She was funny and lighthearted and kept to our schedule and everyone truly felt and looked beautiful on the big day! highly recommend!Jessica D'Amore Makeup Artist's reply:

I can't say enough about Jessica and her team. You can tell she has such a high standard for what she does. I've been in weddings before where the makeup artist is good, but the assistants she brings are meh, this is exactly the opposite with Jessica. She reviewed every bridesmaid/ me (bride) to make sure we looked perfect. She suggested colors for her assistants to use, and each of her assistants were nothing short of amazing.
Jessica made my wedding day so much fun. She has an awesome personality and was joking around with us the entire day. She listened to what people wanted and ensured everyone loved how they looked. I haven't gotten pictures back yet, but even from candids I had so many people ask me who did my makeup- it was AMAZING. My bridesmaids all said they felt so pretty that day as well- and they genuinely were so happy with their look.
I truly can't recommend Jessica enough- she does all the payments before the big day so you aren't worrying about money, and she also only books one wedding a day so can take her time.
10/10 would recommend her every time -I wish I could fly her to Chicago to do my makeup every weekend :) You are amazing!Jessica D'Amore Makeup Artist's reply:

She was incredibly flexible as I had a bridesmaid have to show up last minute directly to the venue and Jessica was willing to travel to a second location to make sure everyone looked perfect. She is extremely talented and made me and all my bridesmaids look gorgeous on my wedding day!

Molly Sent on 10/10/2017I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about Jessica and her team. I got married this past June in Cohasset, MA and Jessica made all of my visions come to life. I love the natural approach she takes with her work. You can really see her expertise come to life in photos. I cannot thank Jessica enough for taking the time to be such a special part of my day. IF I could only relive this day over and over again I would without a doubt have her team back to help. Thank you for your beautiful work and professionalism!

Ginger Sent on 10/03/2017Jessica is an extremely talented makeup artist. She is VERY detail oriented and responds to emails immediately (which is something every bride should appreciate). She helped make me look absolutely beautiful on my wedding day - and the makeup lasted (even in the rain!) She was a joy to have around on our big day - calm, confident and warm. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to any and all of my friends getting married. If you pick Jessica - you've picked a winner!

I waited a year after my wedding to write this review, but it's one I wish I had read before choosing this makeup artist. In short, Jessica herself is an excellent makeup artist, but the rest of her team and their behavior on my wedding day left me with a very bad experience.
At my trial, Jessica said that she would do the eye makeup of everyone in my bridal party and that her assistants would do the face makeup and prep. This did not happen. Jessica only did the makeup of me and my mother-in-law, and her assistants did everyone else. There was a very noticeable difference, whilst I looked bridal, everyone else looked like they were going clubbing. Thick black eyeliner, garish lipstick, etc. They all had to fix their own makeup after to look at all like themselves, which was so upsetting given how much it cost to have it professionally done. Furthermore, the hair artist could not do the hair style I had asked for, and instead of saying this and offering to find a solution, she repeatedly shamed me for having “too much hair” and saying “I don’t know where to put all this” (please note that my hair was only a couple of inches below the clavicle).
The biggest issue I had on the day was the amount of stress they brought to the morning. A few weeks before the wedding Jessica sent me a schedule and asked me to slot the bridal party in. Think “bridesmaid A at 10am, bridesmaid B at 11am”. We weren’t all staying in the same location, so I asked each member to show up at the time of their appointment. But the makeup and hair artists were faster than expected, and started harassing me to have everyone arrive early for their appointments. Jessica was very pushy about it too, and said “they (the assistants) have other jobs to get to and want to leave early, so you need to call everyone to get here”. It ended up making the morning extremely tense and had everyone racing around. They were trying to leave hours ahead of when they were scheduled to be done.
Overall, my makeup was gorgeous, but I am still sad about the way my hair turned out and the experience of my entire bridal party. We spent a lot of money on this service, including a required 20% gratuity, and it is still a dark spot on my wedding day.

I have had a disadvantage recalling the exact events of the day as it is now April 2024. Due to the duration of time that has passed I wanted to take some time to reflect back on the day, review our email thread, and speak with my staff before responding.
I appreciate your feedback Phoebe, both positive and negative. It is essential as a small business owner to be open to how I can improve and grow professionally. I have discussed each of your points with the three staff members working that day with respect to you. As a group we work diligently to provide services with creativity, kindness, and integrity. I chose my staff not only based on practical ability. I also look for people that can stay on task despite unforeseen challenges. I expect this from myself as well. Again, I am very sorry you had a negative experience. That was not my intention for you, any of the clients I have worked with over the last 30 years, or any future clients. This is the first and only negative review I have received towards myself and my staff. It will not be forgotten or taken lightly.
I wish you all the best in your future Phoebe. I also hope your mother is doing well. I enjoyed speaking with her very much on your wedding day.
