Jeff was the perfect photographer for our wedding. As advertised, he captured a great mix of shots and portraits we requested with beautiful candid shots before, during, and after the ceremony. The results were natural and stunning! Incredibly, he was able to get us the final digital photos nearly within a week of our wedding day.

Above all, Jeff was easy to work with from the day we initially contacted him through delivering the photos. He was prompt and responsive to all of our questions and requests. During the ceremony, he captured all the right moments but was not intrusive and was barely noticeable. We couldn't have asked for a more complete combination of talent, professionalism, and easy-going demeanor. We would highly recommend him!

We went with Jeff because he was easy going, responsive and competitively priced. We booked him for engagement photos, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day and we very much enjoyed working with him. Most importantly, the pictures are fantastic! we love them!

Jeff was the absolutely best photographer for our wedding! He was so attentive and helpful with everything leading up to the wedding and helped us feel so relaxed and prepared for the big day. He did such an amazing job on the day of, making sure we got all the shots we wanted, plus many more. He made everyone feel comfortable and was extremely professional. We love all of our photos and are so thankful to Jeff for capturing such special moments. Highly recommend this photographer!

We could not be happier with Jeff and his work! We chose him specifically for his journalistic approach to wedding photography and absolutely love the end product he provided us with. Throughout our time working with him he was personable and professional. He was prompt with responses to all of our questions, and even came out one afternoon and walked around our venue with us (we got married at a summer camp and were having a hard time figuring out the best way to photograph our ceremony/portraits). On our wedding day he was everything we had hoped for. He was timely, made us feel comfortable, and got amazing shots without us really even noticing he was there. Jeff was easy to work with, thoughtful, and provided us with beautiful photographs. We highly recommend him!

Jeff photographed our daughter's Bat Mitzvah. He was professional and responsive to our requests. He took time with us before the event to understand exactly what we were looking for, and made note of specific moments and people we wanted to be sure to capture. The day of the event he blended in seamlessly. His photos were beautiful and his storytelling style captured the joy and excitement of every important moment the day. We love reliving the day through his images. We will be using his services again!

Jeff did our family fall pictures and they turned out amazing. He totally captured our personalities in the pictures especially of my 2,5 and 7 year old children. It was easy and the venue was perfect. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!

Jeff was our photographer for our wedding in October. He arrived on time and brought along his intern, Patrick. Both were extremely professional and got so many wonderful photographs. Our families loved seeing all of the beautiful photographs. We were very lucky with the weather and the scenery for our wedding, so Jeff was able to use the beautiful fall colors as a back drop for the photographs throughout the day. Jeff was very flexible throughout the planning process and our wedding day. We got the photographs back within the week of our wedding through a website where we were able to download all of them immediately. Thank you so much Jeff and Patrick for making our wedding day so special!

He showed up before our contract started and left 30 minutes after it was supposed to end. He also met with us several times to discuss details and offer advice on what types of pictures to get. You never noticed him at the reception yet he got some AMAZING pictures. I would recommend highly!!

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff this spring as I planned my wedding for May 29, 2014. He answered all my questions thoroughly, was very easy to talk to, and had great suggestions as we planned together. He took the time to get to know me. This helped me feel very comfortable with him on the day of the wedding. He was punctual, calm, professional, and kind. My husband and I were very pleased with the photography we had done for our wedding. Jeff (and his intern) were very friendly and attentive to our photographic needs. The quality of pictures we received was fantastic - we loved that we got all the photos on CD. We would highly recommend Jeff for any event.

Jeff photographed my husband and I for a civil ceremony in Ellicott City Courthouse with a small photoshoot afterwards in Ellicott City. He was professional, very easy to communicate with and very responsive. Fun and laid back with a good eye for lighting. The photos came out great.

Our wedding pictures were fantastic. Jeff was professional in every way, he was prompt, courteous, and interactive. We had a small wedding of 30 guests and took pictures at two locations. The pictures at both locations in varying light conditions, both indoors and outdoors turned out so well. I would recommend Jeff's services if you are looking for a professional and reasonable photographer.

My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with Jeff's work on our wedding photos. He is a talented professional with the ability to capture all of the important moments of your special day, and without dragging out a photo session and keeping you from your guests in any way. He ended up staying beyond the contracted hours, which was incredibly thoughtful, in order to get those last fun photos for us at the reception. Both indoor and outdoor pictures from the day turned out beautifully, as far as angle and lighting, and I'm enjoying having the option to create my own album on Picaboo from the DVD of images he sent to us very soon after the wedding. I would highly recommend Jeff Leard Photography to anyone in the Baltimore/DC area.

My wife and I recently had Jeff Leard take photos of our wedding. Jeff is a real pro. He was prompt, diligent, and seemed to understand exactly what photos would be important to us. He captured not only the bride an groom, but also our mothers and family members, and the wedding party with excellent shots. Jeff took photos from the first grooming preparations (from curling irons to tying ties) through the reception, and even as we said "good bye". Jeff's photography is creative, and filled with interesting views. Jeff always takes multiple shots of the same pose, so we were able to select our favorite expressions from among many options. What a great photographer!

Jeff Leard took terrific wedding photos for us. Not only did he take quite a lot of photos, but he varied them significantly. We have lots of angles, lighting, backgrounds and views to choose from. Jeff was creative with the angles shots, and was able to capture very emotional moments. In our preparation shots, he used mirrors to create intriguing and captivating photos. Jeff picked up on the nuances of our wedding party, and was able to take photos that complemented their physical attibutes (and avoid flaws). To top it off, Jeff is flexible and has a subtle sense of humor that keeps things calm and reduces stress. What a great photographer! We recommend him highly.

Jeff did an amazing job with the photography for our wedding! My husband and I could not have been happier with the number of beautiful, creative shots that Jeff took for us -- he took both beautiful portrait and candid photos for us all through our wedding celebration. Prior to the wedding day, we emailed back and forth with Jeff to develop a list of poses that we would like, as well as a list of the different groups we wanted to have portrait photos with. On the wedding day, Jeff had all of those details at-the-ready. Jeff's attention to detail led to a fantastic set of portrait photos with beautiful framing. Jeff also was easy and comfortable to work with -- he pulled the absolute best out of us, our bridal party, and our families for the portraits! And then for candid shots during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, Jeff always managed to be in the right spot at the right time to capture countless important moments. Thank you Jeff for giving us so many beautiful photos to remember our wedding day! We recommend Jeff to anyone looking for a great photographer!

Although my daughter's wedding was organized within a very short period of time, Jeff Leard was extremely flexible and willing to meet with us within our time frame. During the initial meetings, he offered us great advise concerning wedding shots based upon the venue that was chosen and maintained communication up until the wedding day. This was a true comfort! On the actual wedding day, Jeff guided us throughout the whole afternoon and into the evening; collecting awesome memories! I would definitely use Jeff Leard's services again!!

Jeff was AWESOME. We wanted a photographer who was a great photojournalist and who was friendly. Jeff is both. Jeff did both our engagement shoot and the day of the wedding. The posed pictures were great, but the best pictures were the ones we had no idea he was taking. He took amazing pictures of the ceremony. For example, there is a whole set of closeup pictures of the moment my husband and I exchanged rings. He got a bunch of pictures of our ring bearer playing with bubbles with his dad. He was able to turn a day that was thunderstorming with torrents of rain, into really beautiful pictures under umbrellas. The pictures of people dancing really show everyone's personalities. He also fit in perfectly with everyone as we were getting ready for the day (even when we had some ridiculous picture requests). The final result was fast, beautiful, and we are so pleased!

Jeff was our photographer for both our engagement photos and wedding, and we could not have asked for anyone better. He is professional, affordable, and unique – you couldn’t ask for more. He definitely exceeded every one of our expectations.

He has an amazing eye for capturing subtle moments and details that other photographers would undoubtedly miss. The artistic shots are especially breathtaking. He captures the emotions as well as the events of the day. During the ceremony and reception, he blends into the background so you don’t constantly feel like you are under the spotlight, and in that way, he captures great candid moments. During the portrait sessions, he was able to keep going through our list of “must haves” despite the chaos of making sure everyone was there.

Jeff has a great personality, and we had a great time working with him. With all the stress a wedding can bring about, we were extremely grateful that we didn’t have to worry about the pictures. We got the pictures very quickly after the wedding, and they are just stunning.

We chose Jeff as the photographer for our wedding after doing an in depth search of DC area wedding photographers. He did a great job and even handled us moving up the date several months. On site he handled our small wedding venue well, and the intermittent outdoor rain. He was a lot of fun to work with and my wife and have photographs we are going to treasure for a lifetime.

Jeff was very professional and was exceptional to work with. We met with him numerous times before the wedding to discuss expectations, scheduling, and the photos we wanted. He was extremely receptive to our wishes and was flexible in accommodating our needs.

One of Jeff’s strengths is his attention to detail. He always ensured the lighting was perfect and that everyone was in the ideal position for each photo. This was of importance to us during our large family photos. In addition, Jeff was more than willing to seek out a new location for our outdoor photos when our original location was under construction.

We are very appreciative of the effort Jeff put into our special day. He even provided all of our photos to us quicker than we anticipated. Our wedding day will always be a special day and thanks to Jeff we have fantastic pictures to help us remember it forever.

I decided to reach out to Jeff based on other reviews here on Wedding Wire and after chatting with him, I decided he was perfect for what I wanted. While he is not a "traditional" wedding photographer, that is what drew me to him. Jeff is very laid back, but is open to any and all ideas. I essentially gave him an outline of the "must get" photos and then the rest was up to him.

I really like that his is able to capture candids and the feeling of the day without you knowing that he is doing so. It was important to me that I didn't have to think about pictures and being "under the lens." Jeff did a great job of capturing our day and yet, I didn't notice him for most of the day.

During the portrait session, we were able to move quickly in order to have some time to relax before the ceremony.

He had all the photos up on his website soon after we returned from our honeymoon and as other have noted, you have the option to get high resolution copies of all the photos. This is really a great for those who want to have digital copies. In addition, the photos we ordered from his website were really well done.

In sum, I think that Jeff did a great job and is a really good value.

Jeff photographed our wedding this past July in Central Oregon. He was able to wrangle our families together in a professional, polite and efficient manner, making our day that much more of a pleasure. He had a way of taking control of the group and ended up with some beautiful pictures. We all really just had fun taking pictures.

He clearly was keeping his eyes open for all the little moments occurring throughout the day, that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

It felt good knowing we could trust him to just take care of things, giving us more time and peace of mind to enjoy our day.

From the beginning we had determined that our wedding photography was one of our priorities and we wanted the best. Having seen Jeff's work from a friend's wedding, we knew exactly who we wanted to capture the excitement from our own special day.

Jeff was absolutely fantastic to work with, and the pictures turned out beautifully. Jeff was involved with us from the very beginning stages of our wedding, and he was a great resource in terms of figuring out other local vendors and helping to figure out the flow of our day. He is wonderfully flexible with his time and very quick to respond to all our emails. He was very quick and organized for all our posed pictures so we could get in and enjoy our reception!

Jeff's greatest strength is his ability to make you feel comfortable; we hardly felt like he was there during the ceremony and reception but he was able to get wonderful candid pictures of just about everyone and everything. He was totally at ease with the chaos that can occur during the wedding day.

After the wedding Jeff continued to be very helpful and supportive. We came home from our honeymoon and found that he had quickly developed all his pictures, and they were beautifully arranged in color and black and white albums. We also received all the pictures on DVD's that were quickly copied and sent to our relatives.

We couldn't have been happier with our photographer, Jeff is highly recommended, he fantastic guy and is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Jeff was the photographer for our May 2010 wedding in Annapolis and he did a great job! He was a pleasure to work with and was able to capture all of the special moments of the day around downtown Annapolis and on the Naval Academy Grounds. Jeff was great to work with. It's also really nice that you get the rights to your pictures after the wedding. As other reviews have said, he is a really nice guy and feeling at ease with him definitely led to better pictures. Our candid photos turned out wonderfully - but I also really loved how he laid out the portraits. What was most important to me in a photographer was someone who could capture the feeling of the day and I think he did that beautifully.

Jeff Leard provides excellent photography services as a wedding photojournalist. He presents with the following attributes: easy-going personality, calm demeanor, clear in communications, flexible with requests.
Good value, plenty of clear, accurate pictures of the whole days events. Jeff, as he said up front, is not the artsy kind of photographer, but more of the true photojournalist. The portraits session got a little crazy and disorganized and we forgot to take pre-reception pictures of just bride and groom, but I am not sure if there was anything Jeff could have done about it. We had a weather change and in addition we should have designated a person to wrangle people for photographs. So keep that in mind for yourself!

Jeff is absolutely the nicest person. We used him for engagement photos before the wedding to get a feel for his personality and skill. He met us where we wanted the photos to be made and it was a long drive for him. The pictures were great. He was flexible on the wedding day and too wonderful pictures. He is extremely professional.

Jeff was very nice and pleasant to work with. He has a great eye, and took lots of great shots, but was also receptive to our suggestions and input. Plus hes really nice guy too!

Jeff was great to work with and took fabulous photos. He understood our vibe that we were having more "fun party" than "wedding" and captured it perfectly. He was easygoing and unintrusiveon the wedding day, handily moving between me getting ready, the groom and other folks downstairs, and catching all the right moments. Jeff's style is very journalistic, which was perfect for us, but don't expect super artsy photos unless you request it.
