The best day Ever.

Getting married at Nanina’s In The Park was everything we dreamed of and more such a stunning, elegant venue from start to finish.

I also want to take a moment to rave about Marlene from JD Photography, who photographed our wedding and was absolutely incredible. From the moment she arrived, her professionalism, calm energy and attention to detail stood out.

Even with the challenge of an earlier sunset this time of year, Marlene made everything work seamlessly. She knew exactly how to use the light, the space and the timing and the results speak for themselves. Our images were turned around within just days of our wedding and every single photo was breathtaking.

After meeting with what felt like every single photo vendor in the state of NJ, after our first consultation with Marlene I knew she was the one! From the very beginning, she was organized, professional, and an absolute joy to work with. Not only did she photograph our wedding, but she also coordinated a full team for videography and behind-the-scenes content creation—and every single person on her team was just as phenomenal as she is.

Marlene has a calm, confident presence that instantly put me at ease on one of the most important (and let’s be honest, chaotic at times) days of my life. Amazing photographer

We were very lucky to have Marlene and the JD Photography crew apart of our wedding back on August 26, 2016. Besides having a 260 guest list along with a 22 person bridal party, we also had our gender reveal of our first pregnancy that night. It was an amazing night to say the least. With so much going on in one night, Marlene and her team managed to capture every moment that we will forever cherish.
Now 2 1/2 years later, we just had another photoshoot with Marlene. This time it included our 2 year old son and his soon to be baby brother growing in my belly. Being 33 weeks pregnant with a toddler on set, Marlene managed again to blow our minds with her unique talent to capture the perfect pictures.
Any couple looking to truly tell their story needs to look no further than Marlene and the rest of the JD photography crew.

Wedding 2018

My husband & I were looking for a photographer for our wedding in July 2018. We found JD Photography through a friend that had used her for his wedding & INSTANTLY fell in love with her work. Marlene responded to me right and we set a day to met up to continue to discuss our desires from a photographer for our wedding. She made us feel very comfortable & we got to know each other personally (which is important while looking for a photographer). Marlene was extremely flexible when it came to making sure we were receiving everything that we were looking for in a wedding package. The price and quality was incomparable. Marlene and her crew were absolutely AMAZING from start to finish. We were worried about making sure our photographer was able to capture all of the special moments betwen my husband & I as well as our guests due to the fact that we had 185 guests. However, JD Photography was right on the dance floor capturing EVERYTHING. Our pictures are simply breathtaking & we cannot thank JD Photography enough for capturing the best day of our lives. JD Photography was referred to me by a friend who had recently been married. I spoke with Marlene (owner) and upon meeting with her and seeing her work, I fell in love, and booked her shortly thereafter.

Marlene kept in constant contact with me through the entire wedding planning process. She even provided me with a timeline for my hair/make up company and told me what time I should be ready. I trusted her as she has shot many weddings, and what did I know? This was my first time. We even spoke on the phone for over two hours about everything shortly before the wedding, and she put all of my fears to rest. (I was very nervous about running behind schedule and not getting the photographs that I wanted). Never once did it feel like “just business.” I felt like I was talking to a friend. You can tell that Marlene really loves what she does, and gets to know you on a personal basis, instead of just “being a client.” She was always available to chat via phone or text whenever I had a question or a concern. And she constantly reminded me that if I ever needed anything (even if it wasn’t photo related) that I could reach out to her.

On the day of the wedding, Marlene and her team Jarot and Stephanie arrived on time (if not early) as promised. I was greeted with a big hug, and they promptly went to work taking pictures of the “details” (dresses, rings, invitation, etc.) While taking the “getting ready” photos, I never felt rushed at all, and I got all the pictures I wanted. Everything ran smoothly thanks to her timeline! Upon arrival at the venue, we shot all the pictures we wanted. Marlene and Stephanie even jumped in on a few selfies we were taking, which was awesome and fun! We laughed through the entire process.
I just cannot say enough good things about Marlene and JD Photography. Marlene even provided us with a “day of” photo album at the wedding, which was absolutely beautiful. The pictures were AMAZING!! I cannot stop looking at it!

I met Marlene about 3 years ago after a friend referred us to her. She did our fall pics that year which came put amazing. The first time I met her she made me feel like we had been friends for years! She was great with my son and we got amazing pics every year for birthdays and holidays since (even when he was going through his I hate pictures stage). Most recently she shot my daughters baptism. Not only do we have beautiful pictures, but she made sure we got pictures of the actual baptism ceremony even though our church is super strict, and all without getting the church annoyed (I know that wasn't an easy feat)! She made the kids feel so comfortable and got beautiful shots both on the day of and during our pre session. Marlene captured every beautiful detail of our daughters specia day. What can I say! Marlene is simply the best! Her pictures are above and beyond what you would ever expect! I have never had pictures taken on a more patient or more personal level. The experience was delightful! She makes it very comfortable and laid back while remaining professionally at ease throughout the entire process. I will never use another photographer. We had the pleasure of working with Marlene and Stephanie for our engagement photos. We chose to go with them based on reviews from others who worked with them and I cannot express how thankful I am that we did! I am new to all of this picture/wedding stuff, we've never taken pictures like this before so we were nervous and if it wasn't for Marlene I'd still be so lost! Just from speaking with us, they knew exactly the kind of pictures we wanted and boy did they get it right! My fiancé is obsessed with his truck, and Marlene even included it in our photos. They made us feel SO comfortable and they made it so fun and exciting. I received the pictures so quickly, and almost cried looking at them all. No one could have created this vision that we wanted better then them. They made sure we got the perfect shots. It was such an amazing time and I can't wait to see what they do for our wedding day. I highly recommend JD Photography to anyone and everyone!

WOW!! I wish I could find a better word but there are no words to describe the pictures Marlene did of my daughters wedding. A friend commented "they look like the pictures that come in the frames when you buy them". Not only was each picture beautiful but somehow she managed to capture the feeling and emotions of the day in every picture.

Marlene and her sister Stephanie are such an asset to the photography community. It's a breath of fresh air to have such flexible, understanding and helpful people working with my family. Marlene and Stephanie worked with us for my daughter's baptism. It was a very stressful day for me- trying to keep my almost three year old and almost three month old happy while keeping up with many many things on my checklist. During our photo shoot, my daughter needed a 20 minute nap and my son decided to run outside and play in the mud (in his nice clothes). Marlene and Stephanie didn't make me feel rushed or nervous and they sat and talked to us as if they were just friends visiting. I was so stressed out, but they were extremely calming and made sure we got all the photos we needed before they left (even though I was so stressed out and didn't want to take any more, I'm glad we did!) I'd recommend JD Photography over and over!!

We booked JD Photography for our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures. In both interactions with Marlene we we extremely pleased with the caring and professional attitude she portrayed. She did not force pictures we didn't want and asked our input and style that we had in mind. Marlene knows how to get you to feel comfortable while taking all pictures, including those awkward "make out" pictures. Marlene really cares about her customers and wants you to have the best picture possible, not just rush your pictures to finish up. We had a lot of fun during both of our events and would recommend her to anyone. If you want to feel completely cared for and work with a true people person than you must book with JD Photography. She will go above and beyond to ensure you get everything you want and the pictures come out stunning!

I just recently met Marlene in January while she was shooting my cousins first birthday cake smash session . She is AMAZING , simply that . My cousin was screaming and cranky almost the whole entire session , Marlene was so patient and understanding. She didn't give up and got almost 30 amazing shots of her ! That's when I decided to book her for my daughters christening . And I am so happy I did ! Marlene is extremely professional , patient , and prompt . I highly recommend Marlene to all of my friends and family ! And she never disappoints .

I have used JD Photography a total of probably 15 times over the past 2.5 years and she never seizes to amaze me. Seriously ... if you need to book a photographer you need to book Marlene. Her professionalism but also her playfulness makes you feel so comfortable (as if you'd known her for years). The quality of the pictures are outstanding and she definitely captures all the little moments even when you think she isn't watching. If someone isn't cooperative or "doesn't like taking pictures" she makes them love it. Overall I couldn't ask for a better photographer, as I also now consider her my friend.

I can not put into words how happy i am with my pictures!!!!!!!!! I was referred to JD Photography by a friend, and i am so thankful i booked her right away!!! Marlene made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We met first to do an engagement/family shoot which was part of my package. We laughed so hard and had so much fun!!!!!! She made me look so skinny and more beautiful then ever in the pictures. I didn't feel awkward at all. She literally made me feel like a model. My 2 year old is easily distracted, but she captured the biggest and best smiles from him. The wedding shots are OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. Everyone has told me the pictures look like they are straight out of a bridal magazine! I couldn't be more thrilled with the results!!!!! Beyond what i could have ever imagined or dreamed!!!! I am so grateful to have these memories for the rest of my life. She captured perfect moments of the mother/son dance, and of the father/daughter dance. Everyone loves the photos from that day. I was impressed from the day I met Marlene during our engagement session. We had the chance to work with Marlene and her sister Stephanie from JD Photography for our wedding and it was an absolute pleasure. They did such a great job making us feel comfortable throughout the day due to their enthusiasm and energy. We had sent her photo ideas from pinterest and a list of must have photos. Marlene had the list and made sure that she captured the moments we wanted. Marlene and Stephanie had great ideas for photos that they wanted to try out and we happily took direction. It was definitely worth it and the photos turned out perfect. One photo was chosen to be posted on social media the evening our wedding and everyone raved about it! Several more photos were posted the following day and our family and friends (and us of course) were so eager to share. We can't wait to see the rest of the photos! I have used JD more than once and I absolutely love them!! The images captured were priceless, the fun I had while taking them was just as priceless. What can I not say about JD photography! I have used Marlene for baptisms, first communion my daughters sweet 16 and most recently my wedding! Her professionalism and determination to get the best shot is just what the doctor ordered for my bridal party of 20 plus! She told me from the beginning she was gonna get her shots and everyone would cooperate cause she would have it no other way and I must say she did just that! It was a blazing hot september day and she didn't let anyone quit including the groom, and I am forever grateful cause my pics are to die for! You can't go wrong with JD! And her cause is just the icing on the cake!
