From our first call with Jay till months after our wedding (when he offered to help edit our wedding video after our videography contract fell through), we have been so impressed by Jay’s depth of knowledge, passion for his craft, and quality of photography and service as a wedding vendor. He recommended the most incredible spot for our engagement pictures and made sure to capture all of our requests for our wedding day, especially when some were made on the spot. Even given the challenges of our venue (the ceremony was in a historic, dark church), Jay captured all of our moments expertly. We expected to love a few photos from each set, but we can honestly say that we love all of the many photos we’ve been given. He was also instrumental in helping us plan out our schedule for the wedding day and ensuring that we stayed on schedule when the day came. Jay went above and beyond, arriving early and leaving late, and was clearly dedicated to making sure that we would never forget the magic of our engagement and our wedding. Highly recommend booking Jay for his timeless, film-like style photos and especially for his expertise and professionalism in every aspect of his craft. -

Working with Jay was a pleasure from start to finish. He was extremely professional and communicative with us from the first call leading up to our wedding, to delivering our final album. He patiently answered questions, provided suggestions, assured us of timelines at each touchpoint. He was flexible and generous with his time which made the experience that much easier. And while we love our results (we and our venues look awesome), one of the best pieces of feedback on Jay and his team was from our guests on the day-of – many friends and family commented on how friendly and accommodating all the photography team was (with most noting this is definitely not the usual treatment from photographers at other weddings). We mean it when we say that of all the vendors we worked with, Jay and his team were our favorites. -

Jay is really incredible! From our first meeting for the engagement session to our wedding day, he went above and beyond in every way. We were a nervous about the crowds for our engagement shoot at Balboa,, but Jay found the most beautiful hidden spots. He’s so creative with lighting and angles... I honestly didn’t realize how stunning the location could look until we saw the photos.
On our wedding day, Jay captured everything so perfectly. Every time we look at the pictures, it’s like we’re reliving all the emotions and special moments. The lighting at our outdoor venue was pretty dark and somehow he made it look like a painting.
What really stood out, though, was how much he cares about getting everything just right. He took the time to meet with us several times before the wedding, scouted out the venue ahead of time, and gave us great advice on our timeline to make sure the day flowed smoothly. You can tell he loves what he does and his passion shows a lot.
And honestly, his prices are so reasonable for the amount of work, thought, and care he puts in. If you’re even thinking about hiring him, just do it... you’ll get way more than just a photographer. Jay will make sure your day is unforgettable! -

Jay is amazing!
Jay is absolutely an artist behind the camera! From our engagement shoot to our wedding, the photos are just unreal and we still can’t stop looking at them.
Our engagement shoot was at seaport village and we had hoped for a gorgeous sunset, but the day turned out to be overcast. Jay has such a good eye and found such amazing locations to shoot at that we didn’t even remember that we were bummed about the sunset when we got our photos back. He’s so creative with poses and angles and his photos are just so unique!
Our wedding photos are absolutely magical and more than what we could’ve imagined. The colors, emotions, and beauty of the day are so present in the photos!
Jay goes above and beyond - he had not photographed a wedding at the church or our venue before, so he went out of his way to join us at the church rehearsal and venue walkthrough to get to know the space and take test shots to prepare for the day. We really appreciated his extra time. He also gave us a ton of insight with our wedding timeline and advice for planning which was so helpful from someone in the industry!
His prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of work he puts into it. It’s so clear this is his passion and he’s amazing to work with. You will not regret hiring him! -

Jay was the absolute best from the moment I reached out to him I knew I wanted him to take our engagement pictures. Leading up to our shoot, Jay was so thorough and listened to every single one of my concerns no matter how small they were. We had two locations for our engagement shoot and Jay knew all the unique, beautiful parts of Balboa Park and Cuvier Park which was extra amazing because we came from out of state. We were both a little nervous about being photographed and Jay made us feel comfortable and confident and gave us so many tips and we had an absolute blast! We got our pictures back and WOW I love them so much they’re exactly what I was envisioning and then some. I wish we were local because we would 100% use Jay for our wedding - he was the absolute best and exactly what you would want in a photographer! -

Jay did a fantastic job with our wedding photos. He is very professional, punctual, responsive, prepared, creative, and affordable. Our wedding package included a consultation, engagement shoot, 7 hours of wedding photography coverage at our three venues (hotel getting ready, ceremony site, and reception venue), and high-resolution photos. Jay made us and our guests feel comfortable and he is efficient at getting the shots. We used a photo from the engagement shoot for our wedding invitations and a photo from the wedding for our thank you cards. We love how beautifully he captured us, our guests, and the venues. We also appreciated the quick turnaround in receiving our photos just a month after the wedding. Highly recommend! -

From the first message that I sent Jay through the app he was very quick to respond, took time to get on a call with me asap to discuss my vision and he was so helpful giving tips on what I needed to think of for the big day. So friendly and professional! From engagement photo shoot to the wedding day, he’s extremely punctual, makes you feel so comfortable to take pictures and guides you with relaxed poses! I’m beyond impressed and happy with the wedding pictures he took of us! Lighting on every single one is so perfect! 10/10 recommended!! -

We hired Jay roughly a year before our wedding. From the very beginning he is so thoughtful and truly tries to best understand what kind of photos you want on your special day. He loves preparation and has the experience to talk you through anything you’d want in your photos. He’s also assertive, but super kind and respectful in the way he speaks to you. My friends and family felt very comfortable taking the photos with him. I am obsessed with my photos and so are all my wedding guests. Just book him!!!!!!! -

My fiance and I recently contacted Jay for an Engagement photoshoot. Jay not only helped us pick the location based on what we were looking for, but also helped us finalize the time of the day when we would get the best lighting. That really made us feel we were in good hands as we knew very little about all this. Jay was extremely professional and we had a flawless photoshoot. Our pictures came in a week's time and the pictures are just amazing and beautiful. I'd highlighly recommend Jay Resh photography to the new couples out there and to anyone who's looking for a photshoot. ) -

OVERALL: The most notable traits about Jay are his reliability, his speedy responsiveness, and his flexibility in his willingness to help. I highly recommend him for any event, and would definitely work with him again if I had the opportunity.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: We were recommended to Jay by our wedding videographer. After visiting his website, we immediately loved his natural style, both in colors, which were not overly edited, and the natural expressions he captured in his subjects. Not to mention that his pricing was in our ideal budget. Upon first message, we already felt his genuine and professional nature, which made communication so easy from start to finish.
PLANNING PHASE: Even before we signed, Jay acted not only as a photographer, but also doubled as a creative director and consultant for how we should plan our day around the photo opportunities. We took away so many ideas for our big day from just this first session; this helped us establish our trust in him from the start. As the day came closer, he offered to meet us at the venue to show us how he was planning on using the architecture of the property, and also to explain the flow of the day-of in terms of moving from location to location. This was a very key meeting that made us feel at ease knowing we were prepared before the rush of the big day began.
ON OUR WEDDING DAY: On the big day, he was great at reminding us of what he needed from us, e.g. waiting for him to be ready before tossing the bouquet. He was excellent at exhibiting leadership even with delays that resulted from the usual wedding craze. We appreciated his ability to be quick on his toes while not forgetting to pay attention to detail. It was also nice that he expressed his excitement when he got a good shot, and was wonderful about complimenting anything that was going right, which made us feel happy and confident in ourselves and in the day.
PHOTOS: The final photos were spectacular and turned out exactly in the natural style that we were hoping for - everything from the detail shots and the creative use of architecture in our first look photos, all the way to the family portraits, the movement he captured during our dances, and the natural smiles he captured of us. We now have photos that are sure to treasure for a lifetime and generations to come. -

Jay was awesome to work with! He fit right into our relaxed and low key vibe that we wanted for our wedding. We wanted fun, unique and non-traditional and he captured all of the moments we wanted.
He also was very flexible to our schedule and requests. We held an 80's costume hot tub cruise party on the bay the day after our wedding and we were able to trade that out for an engagement photo session! He even dressed the part. Well, that was our requirement. :)

Jay was incredible to work with! He did an engagement session for us as well as our wedding and all of the photos are beautiful! On our wedding day, he was the perfect person to keep me calm and carefree while trusting him to capture everything. Like having a close friend in charge. Jay is very personable, light hearted, and professional, as well as willing to roll with the punches which is what you need from your photographer on your wedding day! We got our photos back very quickly and I could not be happier with them!

I am SO glad we worked with Jay for our wedding photos. He was very responsive right off the bat, and I really appreciated that he really listened to what we wanted. I also appreciate the contract he sends out because it is super thorough and helped me feel more assured!
We had a courthouse wedding and small reception and only requested several hours as opposed to a full day with Jay, and he did a REALLY great job of maximizing our time and helping us plan, and even keeping us on track the day-of. I think without him things wouldn't have been so smooth, so he REALLY went above and beyond!
He is great at helping plan for the event and thinking of all possible situations, and he is really really good at executing on the day-of. He is also VERY good at giving direction, which was super important to me and my partner since we had no idea how to pose for photos.
I love love love Jay's photo style--it captures personality, emotion, gorgeous light, and is ethereal while still just real and fun. My partner and I were so delighted when looking through our photos (just a little over a month after the event--good turn around time!) at the moments he captured that we otherwise would not have seen. We feel SO glad for our choice to work with Jay and would easily recommend him. He is also an extremely good price (Jay--you could totally charge more! So worth it) for the quality and just great experience. Jay's personality is professional, easy, and fun and we just had a really wonderful time--our wedding was totally enhanced by our photographer experience! -

Jay has such great vision. We were drawing a blank when it came to so much of the wedding timeline and pictures we wanted to get. But the hour we spent with him going over the details solved all that. He was also kind enough to drive us around during our engagement session so we could go to more than one location without any problems. I know that has nothing to do with his images, but I think it goes towards his personality which is very helpful and caring. Bridesmaids loved him, groomsmen loved him, family loved him, we loved him too. Our pictures look magazine quality good. Perfect score photographer! -

This guy wears so many hats! Photographer, planner, motivational coach lol. No matter how nervous I started to get, he kept bringing me back down to earth. Reassuring me and my husband that the day was about us, and we should just enjoy it. It was great because we ended up with lots of natural looking pics, instead us both looking super anxious and awkward lol. I highly recommend using him! The entire process was so pleasant. Love you, Jay!!
