Wonderful Guitarist!

We booked Jarrett for our wedding ceremony at the Tabard Inn in DC. He was wonderful! So easy to work with and learned a new song for our processional, which we so appreciated. Highly recommend!

A Wonderful Wedding Accompaniment

We contacted Jarrett to play at our wedding. Jarrett played during our ceremony and set a wonderful tone during the dinner hour. Jarrett was flexible and punctual, and we appreciated his willingness to play some special requests during our processional.

Perfect music for our event

Jarrett was the perfect person for our outdoor vineyard event. He provided the kind of calming beautiful live guitar music we wanted. He was very professional and fit his performance seamlessly into our event. If we ever have another occasion, we will hire him again in a heartbeat.

Exactly what we were looking for

Jarrett is wonderful at what he does. He played for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He did a great job setting the mood and continuing to play when the ceremony started late.
He was very responsive, professional, and easy to work with leading up to our event. He has a huge selection of music in his repertoire. I would absolutely hire him again.

Classical Guitar

We wanted classical guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding. Jarrett was very responsive to our questions, and thankfully was available for our ceremony. He has an extensive catalogue of music, from classical, to Spanish, to contemporary. I even saw a few showtunes. He arrived early to the ceremony, and was very professional. The music was well played, and well received by our guests. Overall, I recommend Jarrett.

Beautiful Guitar Music

Jarrett did an excellent job providing classical guitar music for our wedding ceremony. In the lead up to the wedding, he was responsive and guided us to make sure we gave him the information he needed, and his repertoire had a lot of variety to choose from. Jarrett’s playing was beautiful and really elevated our ceremony. Our pre-ceremony music selection didn’t end up being long enough for the amount of time it took before we got started, and Jarrett filled the extra space with another piece from his repertoire, which we appreciated.

Excellent Experience with Laskey

My husband and I specifically wanted a classical guitarist to play at our ceremony and happy hour as learning how to play guitar was part of our dating story. My dad wanted a quartet, so Jarrett suggested a duet with his colleague violinist Cristiana. The combination was perfect - and they even agreed to learn my parent's wedding song to play during the prelude. Jarrett was easy to communicate with, professional, and played for a few hours outdoors on a hot June day. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Guitar!

Jarrett provided wonderful classical guitar during our wedding ceremony and was an ease to work with! He came with a wide-ranging repertoire, making it easy to select songs which did well to set the tone of our day. No trouble at all hearing the music outside, and we each had several guests tell us how much they appreciated having Jarrett’s music as part of the ceremony.

A Talented Musician!

I am a wedding coordinator and worked with Jarrett for a wedding on 5/21. Leading up to the wedding, Jarrett was great with communication and very responsive! He was very professional. On the day of the wedding, he was on top of things and worked together with the DJ who provided the ceremony mic to ensure all sound for the ceremony went smoothly. The music he played sounded great! I would definitely recommend Jarrett if you are looking for a musician during your wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, or for any event!

Jarrett is a classical guitarist with a wide repertoire (from classical to modern day pop music). He was even able to learn and perform a new song that we had requested rather last minute and it meant a lot to us to hear that song that moment. His music was a lovely touch to our wedding ceremony.

Amazing for our wedding !

We hired Jarrett for our guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We loved it ! It was exactly what we were looking for and went with our exact style of wedding. Amazingly talented artist

Having Jarrett play at my sisters wedding was an
absolute pleasure. The way Jarrett played the
guitar really set the perfect atmosphere for the
evening while celebrating love, family and

Jarrett was fantastic

We really happy with our decision to add Jarrett's services to our ceremony design. He played as our guests were entering and getting seated, and then did four selections during our ceremony. The quality was terrific - he has a good selection, but was also willing to learn one song for us. Highly recommend working with Jarrett.

Jarrett is so great to work with and extremely talented! He played for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was super responsive and so helpful with planning and selecting music. Jarrett was super easy to work with leading up to the wedding, he gave us a variety of songs to choose from, and 1 song that he could learn for us. Jarrett is an exceptional musician and extremely professional.

Jarrett performed for our son's wedding in September 2020. I selected him because of the outstanding quality and sensitivity of his playing from the recordings on his website. We had a very short planning time and we really appreciated his responsiveness. We had hoped for an outside ceremony because of the pandemic, but very last minute we had to change to the inside option. Jarrett was extremely flexible.
Jarrett has a wonderful range of music in his repertoire and he put together a selection of pieces that truly met all our needs and the mood of the event.

Very easy to work with, very professional

Jarrett was very easy to work with. We actually just wrote back and forth over email, which made the planning process much easier (one less phone call to schedule/make!). He learned a new song for my processional. His music was great background music, but also did not disturb the guests as they continued their conversation.

Classical/Spanish/Contemporary from arrival through dinner

We wanted a specific, solo guitarist for our wedding. One with a strong enough repertoire of spanish/flamenco, along with some acoustic versions of contemporary songs. Jarrett was perfect. We went to see him perform at one of his gigs before hiring him, and knew he would be great.
We wanted light and airy as people arrived, classical suggestions for the ceremony, spanish guitar for the cocktail hour, and acoustic contemporary for the first half of dinner. He was open to suggestions, provided some of his own, and in the end, we were quite pleased.
He hit the contemporary songs that we knew would go over well with our parents (Beatles) and nice renditions of Dave Matthews, John Legend, among others. It was a great way to have him continue through dinner, up until the toasts, which allowed us to transition from guitarist to DJ Dave Grimm of Signature Talent.
Jarrett coincidentally had previously worked with our officiant and DJ so we knew all would flow well.

Jarrett was such a joy to work with!

Jarrett performed the ceremony music for our wedding, and from the moment I contacted him he was very easy to work with. He was easy to contact and responded promptly to all my emails/calls/texts. Although he is a classical guitarist, his scope of music spans a variety of genres, so he was able to play more recent pop songs on his guitar in such an elegant way. He knew most of the songs I had requested, and he even learned a special song that I wanted to be played before the ceremony! His suggestions for songs were right up my alley, so I could tell he listened carefully to our requests and he knew the vibe we were going for. Most importantly, he also achieved that vibe on our day - all songs went off without a hitch, which added such a special dimension to our wedding day. We and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed his music. 10/10 would book again!

Jarrett played guitar at mine and my husband's wedding ceremony. Jarrett was so easy to work with and very responsive throughout the entire process, even up until the day before when I was still making changes to our schedule. He plays wonderfully and our guests loved him. Jarrett had previously played at our venue which was very helpful to know that he had been in the space before since it was kind of small. Music is very important to our family. Jarrett played a lush and lovely selection of songs for our daughter's wedding this past October. He is an extremely accomplished and diverse musician - played both classical and contemporary pieces. His song list is huge - and now it also includes Moon River, which he graciously and quickly learned for the ceremony. He was able to amplify his music for the outdoor event and the level was just perfect. Jarrett is a true professional, dressed impeccably for the occasion, was discreet in his comings and goings, and added another sense of beauty and peace to their wedding. What a truly wonderful guitarist and classy performer.

Jarrett Laskey was the musician for my wedding on 9/9/17 and he was perfect. Jarrett is very straightforward about what to expect and what he will do and working with him is very easy. Thing about Jarrett that is most special is that he was never something for me to worry about. Jarrett arrived on time and presents himself well. He played as my guests arrived, for the ceremony, and for a cocktail hour after the ceremony. He is very sensitive to what volume is appropriate and what songs are a good choice, but has a list of music you can choose from as well. With all of the vendors you will have on your wedding day, you owe it to yourself to make an easy decision to have Jarrett Laskey be your musician.

We booked Jarrett for our wedding and wedding reception. It was late notice (within 3 weeks of the wedding), but Jarrett was very accommodating and able to work with us. He learned new music to accommodate the preferences of our families and even took requests during the reception. He is an excellent guitarist and was very punctual and professional throughout the service and reception. I would highly recommend him for classical guitar music.

We hired Jarrett to play during the cocktail hour for my daughter’s wedding on Nov 12, 2016. Jarrett was very easy to work with, very responsive to emails. His music is beautiful and I even had some guests seek me out to comment on his playing. Our cocktail hour was in a barn and the temperature was quite chilly. Jarrett was extremely professional and played continuously in spite of the coldness. Jarrett and I played together in our High Schools guitar ensemble, so I already new that he was a great guitarist. 20 years later I was happy to run into Jarrett while he was performing at my friends wedding. When I got engaged and the wedding planning started my finance assigned me the task of the securing the ceremony and cocktail hour music. As a guitarist myself I thought it would be nice to have guitar music for our ceremony. The first person I thought of was Jarrett, it was a no-brainer. Jarrett was able to play the exact song my wife wanted while she was walked down the isle and he did a great job mixing classical and modern music together for the cocktail hour. Jarrett was a great find! We love classical and Latin guitar, which is his specialty. When we inquired with him about playing at our wedding, he was very responsive and sent us an extensive list of songs he would be able to play. What's more, he offered to learn a new song, if given enough lead time. But we found the perfect pieces for our ceremony in his existing repertoire. He also played for our guests before the ceremony. Jarrett arrived on time and did everything he promised, and contributed a great deal to making our special day feel more magical and lovely!

My experience with Jarrett was fantastic. My mother and I booked a performance as a gift to my sister and her new husband at their wedding reception. It added just that perfect touch to have live music during the cocktail hour. Although at times conversation was pretty loud, several people told me how much they liked listening to the music. We requested mainly classical guitar and it was perfect. Jarrett was also very easy/pleasant to work with and consistently responsive to questions and also flexible with timing of his performance.

Jarrett was wonderful to work with. After listening to YouTube clips of the songs on his list, we decided we wanted a mix of music...something a little traditional and something a little contemporary. We ultimately selected Ravel's Bolero for the processional, the Glasgow Love Theme from "Love Actually" for the bridal procession, and "Here Comes the Sun" for the recessional (fortunately it didn't rain on the day of, or this might have been a bit out of place). Anyways, Jarrett was very patient working with me and my father (who helped with a lot of the planning) and on the day of the ceremony music was perfect. He also stayed for the cocktail hour and played a selection of songs and it really did give the event a relaxed but elegant feel that I was hoping for. I would definitely recommend Jarrett to anyone looking for a guitarist at their event.

Mr. Laskey did an amazing job at our wedding at Great Falls National Park! After drastically changing my wedding plans & moving up the date, I had only three weeks to pull my wedding together. Mr. Laskey dealt with the short notice beautifully! He always answered my emails promptly, cheerfully answered all of my questions, and very kindly & patiently helped whenever I'd get confused or stressed out.
On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time, he was incredibly professional, and most importantly, he played beautifully! My husband is a trained musician as well; it didn't take more than a few bars for him to realize just how talented Mr. Laskey is. But it certainly doesn't take a highly-trained musical ear to recognize just how beautifully Mr. Laskey's music is! He truly provided the perfect musical backdrop to our wedding.
Even better, any time my husband & I want to relive our wedding day, we're able to listen to the same sounds that played as I walked down the aisle, thanks to the CD Mr. Laskey provided. In fact, as my husband & I drove away from our wedding that day, we put his CD in the car stereo & listened to it as we drove to the hotel. It really was the perfect finishing touch to our perfect wedding day.

My wedding coordinator actually referred me to someone other than Jarrett, but they were booked. After looking at reviews on WeddingWire.com, I emailed Jarrett, and luckily, he was available. After booking Jarrett, my fiance realized that his late brother used to take lessons from Jarrett, so it meant even more to us to have Jarrett play at our wedding. I hired Jarrett to perform live guitar at my ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding this past weekend. He adjusted to music to the ceremony so that the music and ceremony were seamless. Prior to the wedding, I emailed him numerous times with questions, and he gave me great recommendations and samples of music so that I could put together a ceremony that fit us. I requested he play traditional Latin guitar (although he plays both classical and standard hits), which he did beautifully. My guests loved it. We hired Jarrett for out October 2011 wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Both events were held outdoors. We found out about Jarrett during a simple Google search. My wife wanted a ceremony with a Spanish guitar theme. His website samples of Spanish and classical music clips sounded excellent and we liked the previous positive reviews as well. We met with Jarrett prior to the wedding to discuss what we wanted in addition to all the details of the ceremony. Jarrett was very easy to work with and took all of what we said and ran with it perfectly. He sent us some great suggestions of the procession piece. The one we chose was perfect. On the wedding day Jarrett showed up and was entirely prepared for the event, no hassle. His performance during the ceremony and cocktail hour was flawless. Several guests commented on his excellent performance. One guest said his performance during the ceremony was his favorite part of the night and that some of the pieces that Jarrett played were favorites he had not heard in a long time. Our only regret was that we had to take photos during happy hour and we missed a tremendous cocktail hour performance. We highly recommend Jarrett for any event when you want to please all the guests.

He had a few days to learn a Hawaiian song from a recording - then, just 20-minutes to rehearse with my brother-in-law who did the vocals. No sheet music was provided. The lyrics were in Hawaiian. For my wedding, I wanted some classical guitar music along with Spanish flamenco music to play at the beginning of our reception and during dinner. Jarrett provided exactly this! Jarrett did an AMAZING job at our ceremony. I gave him almost no guidance on what to play except for asking him to learn one song for us - only a week and a half before the ceremony! I also told Jarrett the wrong time to show up and realized a week before the ceremony!! So the fact that Jarrett learned the song and played it beautifully during the procession, and was also flexible enough to show up 30 minutes earlier than originally planned makes me want to give him 10 stars. Hire Jarrett for your ceremony - you will not be disappointed!

Jarrett was prompt in answering emails and offering suggestions for songs when we weren't sure. He worked in all requested pieces into the intro and ceremony. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a classical guitar for their ceremony/event.

Jarrett was hired to perform at our Valentine's Day dinner at our club. He provided beautiful music that the members truly enjoyed. The selection of music was approriate and the volume was just right. His music added a special touch, and he was very easy to work with.

Not only did Jarrett play amazing music for our wedding ceremony, but he also learned two new songs that were very special to us for the occasion. He also went an extra step to arrive early & practice with my cousin, who sang as I walked down the aisle. Jarrett's performance could not have been more perfect for my wedding ceremony. In the days before my wedding he was flexible and accommodating regarding my selection of music and he was patient with regards to the amount of time it took me to finalize the itinerary. The day of the wedding he arrived early, dressed professionally (even though he knew he'd be seated in the choir loft), and executed my plans for the prelude and processional flawlessly. I would highly recommend his services to anyone seeking hassle-free professional-quality classical music.

Jarrett was a fantastic discovery. We requested his skills (Jan 2015) at our ceremony and cocktail hour. He provided the right ambiance for us with his classical guitar. He had many song selections to choose from and he was very adaptive to our requests. We allowed him to make his own choices during the cocktail hour and he came through with perfection. Jarrett was also very responsive in returning emails and showed-up on time. He is an all-around true professional to work with.

Jarrett is an exceptional classical guitarist, who is able to learn any piece of music if given the time. That being said, Jarrett was very gracious when I was worried about the piece my husband and I wanted him to play for my walk down the aisle, so he learned a few bars of the music & met up with us to put us at ease. We ended up hiring him, and could not have been happier. Jarrett is very flexible - hire him, and you won't regret it!

Mr. Laskey was absolutely perfect. He was a late breaking addition to our wedding plans but he jumped right in. His list was extensive and we were able to pick the exact songs we wanted - "A Story Book Love", "Pachelbel's Canon in D" and "Here Comes the Sun." We even had difficulties getting the wedding party started on time and Mr. Laskey flawlessly repeated the processional so that there was enough music. We were very pleased and I would strongly recommend him.

Jarrett played the songs of our choosing for our ceremony and cocktail hour. He was dressed in a formal tuxedo, arrived early, and provided excellent service.

We asked him to play Stairway to Heaven, which he was able to learn for us.

Ok, this is the groom writing this review. I am a musician and I'm super particular. While we had not originally intended to hire a musician for our special day, I wanted to surprise my bride, and she was absolutely floored to walk into the venue and have Jarrett's incredible, amazing music filling up the room. Jarrett agreed to perform on incredibly short notice and responded to my initial email within an hour (several other candidates took up to two days to respond). His playlist is versatile, combining a great mix of classical, contemporary and Latin selections to choose from. I selected the playlist and Jarrett performed it with grace and elegance. Also, he arrived well ahead of the scheduled ceremony. I would highly recommend Jarrett to anyone looking to make their wedding day extra memorable.

Performance added a polish to my private party!

Excellent musician. His background music was perfect for the private Sunday lunch birthday celebration I had planned, where it was important for my guests to easily converse around the music he played. His picked the perfect musical tempo for my gathering, and since my event did not require an upbeat tempo, I was pleased. I also was pleased with the genre of songs he introduced; each song captured the age and interests of my guests. I only had 22 guests, so my per person expense for music was a bit high. However, Jarrett's performance certainly added a polish to my private restaurant party!

Jarrett's beautiful guitar playing added a very elegant touch to our ceremony and cocktail hour. He is professional and plays very well. He even learned a new song at our request. It is also very helpful that Jarrett provides a sample list of songs for all the typical ceremony parts. This was invaluable to us as we planned our ceremony music. Jarrett is also reasonably priced. I have no complaints with his service and highly recommend him!
