Beautiful bridal gown
Growing up in south jersey I wouldn’t have expected to find my dream bridal gown at the same place I would look for prom dresses. But boy was I wrong. I had the best experience. The bridal gowns are upstairs and we were lucky enough to have Julia - a seamstress assisting us with trying on the dresses. She was able to talk me through each dress in regards to the different tailoring it would need if I choose that dress. The appointment was not stressful or rushed and I was able to try on a lot of dresses. To my surprise I found my dream dress. The following alternation appointments were easy and they were able to fit me in later due to my work schedule. The staff were friendly and my dress was perfect. Would recommend to anyone. -

Wedding dress shopping
We came in and unfortunately we were very late for our appointment and texted to reschedule...however someone on the phone told us to still come in AND wooow..it was still was a wonderful experience (.we honestly thought there would be alil tension due to our lateness from the previous bridal shop and the very bad weather)
But LINDA WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, PATIENT AND EXCITED AND SUPER SWEET AND PERSONALABLE. We could not have received better service or hospitality. As a future brides mother i was so very thankful to have had such a sweet and experienced woman to share my joy with. I am very grateful for her perspective, personally, joy in helping to her smiles and laughter that she gave ...again it was the end of the day and she did not rush us or give us the impression that it was getting late .she gave us our desired attention that was I'm sure given to all her guests.
Thank u all again for making my daughter feel beautiful and welcome and finding her a gorgeous dress !! -

Boutique Perfection!
My daughter and I shopped for her rehearsal dress and my mother-of-the-bride dress for her wedding. We made appointments and we greeted quickly and whisked away to the cocktail party dress department. Our consultant was very sweet and listed to us. Our idea of what she wanted was more suited to the young lady department and the consultant in that department nailed the exact dress that she dreamed about wearing to her rehearsal. I had an appointment that was scheduled for an hour later which we thought we would have to leave and come back, but we were escorted into the mother-of-the-bride department and I found at least five contenders. I loved each and every one and settled upon the perfect dress for myself. We purchased both and made appointments together for the fitting. Asunta met us at our next appointment and went straight to work on both of our dresses giving us her opinion about what we should have done. She listened to my concerns about my dress being a bit too low-cut for a mom and she remedied it for me without hesitation. We went today to try on our dresses and they were PERFECT. The staff is fun and friendly, they listen to their customer's ideas of what they want, and they do not try to upsell or push something that isn't suited to that client. I will be returning from now on for any cocktail dresses I need in the future. They also have gorgeous sportswear which I will definitely be purchasing in the future. You won't go wrong with Jan's. Make your appointment and enjoy yourself! -

Double Dresses, Double the Fun
I was not your typical bride, I started looking for a dress about a month before my wedding and I didn't care if it was bridal or not. I was doing a surprise wedding so we did two dresses on a super short time frame. They called, chased and made sure my dresses arrived on time and then they fitted me.... their seamtresses are amazing! Can't say enough about Brenda and the other seamtresses. Jan, Charon, Barbara all of them they are great! -

Fabulous/Stunning/Great gowns and Great service
I needed two Gowns; one for my step-daughter’s wedding and my daughter’s wedding. I highly recommend Jan’s. The service is great, the gowns were gorgeous and I was able to get my shoes and accessories all right there.

My daughter and I went to Jan's to find something for a wedding were going to. Linda had spent quite some time with us listening to what we're looking for and gave better ideas that would look nice on us and was right. We are very happy the service we received and the items we took home. THANK YOU LINDA!!!!!!!!!! -

I absolutely love Jan's Boutique!!! I had the most perfect dress shopping experience with everyone. Sharon was amazing.....she was patient and helped me pick out the perfect dress that met all my needs the dress I ended up getting. It was different from anything I have seen before but once I put it on I was in love with it!!! I was given full attention and my Mother was taken care of as well. I look all over for dress and no other store compared, the section is unbelievable and the service is wonderful and the owner is very nice. I am so happy with my choice! I got the most gorgeous dress for my Son's wedding most beautiful dress I will ever wear perfect fit like glove and so comfortable. I felt one beautiful Mother!!!! I cannot THANK Brenda my seamstress enough..... for working with me on the alterations and the outstanding job she did it turn out GORGEOUS THANK YOU!!!!! FOR MAKING ME FEEL LIKE PRINCESS...... I have received so many compliments on the gown everywhere I was going and received many calls from around the Globe. Thank you Jan's for helping me find the perfect dress it was well worth the drive! I would highly recommend Jan's to anyone looking for dress!

Kudos to Jan's on excellent service! I so loved my wedding gown for my second marriage. It was beautiful. The staff including Ivy and Michele were wonderful. Michele created a beautiful wrap that I attached vs having to carry it around. She was amazing. I had a glitch with the first gown I ordered, but Jan and her manager worked everything out and I loved the second dress so much more! My mom and I had a good time every time we went for fittings. Yes, my mom got her gown there as well. Gorgeous and again Michele did perfect alterations. I would recommend Jan's to anyone looking for wedding/event gowns. -

Disappointed in the fact that they advertise having over 3000 dresses but not one of the 5 different dresses that I was interested in. So I had to order my dress and accept it when it came in sight unseen. So actually I could have ordered it on line myself. -

Donna, Mother of the Groom
As mother of the groom, I went to Jan’s on a few occasions looking for a gown. You need to know the routine here. You are limited to the time you are allowed to spend with sales people. They are doing you a big favor by working with you. My sales rep had no ideas and suggestions for my gown; I was on my own. Jan allowed me to try on a sample gown and when I returned a few days later, the manager, Judy, would not allow me to try the same gown on. She would not listen to reason until Jan came along and allowed me the try on.
Do we really need this type of grief? And don’t forget to wear your black gloves while trying on all the samples..... because the samples will be sold later ... at top price I am sure.
I was trying on the most exclusive and expensive designer gowns they had in the store and this was the treatment
I received.
You are not treated like a valued customer here; they are doing you a FAVOR by giving you any attention.
I highly recommend going elsewhere; I found a gorgeous designer gown that was cheaper with wonderful and professional attention.

Nice Inventory , poor service
Nice selection of dresses, my sales person was great and listened to my ideas for a wedding dress. My only complaint is that the people on the phone or the cash register aren't very nice or professional. The person at the cash register ( i think the owner or maybe a family member) didn't congratulate me or thank me for the purchase. It's not that i need the attention, it's just that it's a good business practice to thank those who support your business. In any case, your not done with the sale at the cash register. I bought my dress on 2/7/2024 and called today, 3/15/24, as I was told that the dress would arrive in 3 weeks. The man on the phone, said in the most obnoxious way possible that they had sent me a text on 3/7. Well i never got the text...you think they would resend or call a customer if they didn't hear back? specially when they have my wedding date as 5/25 and the dress needs alterations? It just tells me that they're interested in selling, but not inot customer service. With so many stores to shop from, I'm not sure i would come back. You need to earn my business and respect me as a customer. People like me keep your store open, not the other way around. -

Incorrect sizing
Purchased a dress based on their size chart. The dress I received, though labeled with the size I ordered, was WAY bigger than the measurements in the size chart. I requested to exchange the dress for a dress based on their size chart and they refused -

Don’t waste your time or money
Went to Jan’s because they claim to have a crazy number of dresses but left thinking why did I just drive 50 minutes and pay $30 to take 2 people with me. Honest comments:
-I was shown all of 6 dresses but that was after 3 were shown to us only and we kept pressing to see more dresses
-I expressed that I did not want to spend more than $2000 preferably. Dresses below $1000 were explained as made in China and not worth it. I don’t agree with that statement because there are many designers that have beautiful dresses for less than $1k.
- I am a larger size person and only 1 dress actually fit me so the story of we have tons of plus-size dresses is bogus
- there was 1 dress that I am contemplating- not yet decided so I asked the manager can you take my measurements in case I decide on that one and just want to call in the order and pay over the phone. The manager asked how far do you live? I said 50 minutes and she said well that is nothing and rolled her eyes. She ended up taking my measurements but honestly if I decide on that dress I will look for it elsewhere as she really turned me off.
- One more interesting fact- their prices are extremely inflated as I went to another store right after and they had at least 2 of the same dresses they showed me and the difference was over $400 . That is a lot

Terrible Experience
Two weeks ago I went to Jan’s Boutique for my first bridal gown appointment. I paid for a VIP bridal appointment and there was nothing VIP about it. First of all, as soon as you walk into the boutique it is extremely chaotic. I arrived 25 minutes early to be appointment. The woman at the front desk was very rude and asked us to wait in the car. Once we went back into the building, our appointment started 10 minutes late as there was no staff available at the time.
Once we were helped, our sales representative was rushed the entire time. I had to ask multiple times to see different dresses. Everything seemed like an inconvenience. She also stated she didn't know where all of the dresses were as she claimed they were "missing". With the VIP appointment, the website states we would be offered refreshments. This did not happen and my party eventually just asked for water.
I found a dress at Jan’s that I absolutely loved but due to the staff being unfriendly and feeling rushed the entire appointment, I was not going to purchase from the boutique. I arrived to the appointment with all intentions of purchasing a wedding dress and had 3/5 guests fly out in from other states for this experience. I also drove over an hour to visit this shop. Due to the service I received, I went to another bridal shop after my appointment and purchased another dress.
I spoke to Lacey about my experience and was told I would hear back. It’s now been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard anything. It’s very disappointing to expect and pay for a VIP experience and this is what I got. I definitely would not recommend this boutique. -

Avoid!!!!!
I am utterly appalled at how your store treated my mom last weekend. I am getting married in September and live in California and entrusted my mom to your store to work on her mother of the bride dress. She spent $4,000 (and paid in full up front) on a custom dress through your store and was incredibly excited to arrive to have her first fitting. Your store is an hour and a half drive from her home. She was planning to arrive early today because for her birthday I told her I'd like to buy her a rehearsal dinner dress, as well. She was thrilled to get the chance to shop even more at your store. She arrived early to her appointment to ensure she could shop around. When she arrived, she was treated TERRIBLY--she was told she could not shop around, was completely rushed by multiple individuals, dresses were pushed onto her in the fitting room, and she was overall treated disgusting. That your store could even CONSIDER treating a high paying customer like that is beyond comprehension. That you DID treat a high paying customer like that is simply unacceptable. After being rushed and harassed, your store proceeded to take plenty of time writing up paperwork regarding how much my mother owed for extra fabric to further customize her dress. I had to receive a cross-country phone call from my mother bawling her eyes out saying she has never been treated so poorly on a day that was supposed to be filled with joy and celebration. You took away what should have been an amazing, unforgettable moment for my mom as she customizes her mother of the bride wedding dress for her only daughter's wedding and made it a terrible memory for her. How dare you. The owner should be embarrassed and ashamed at this despicable employee behavior.
I sent this near exact review to the business immediately after the happening in order to resolve it internally, but they never reached out. A truly horrible display. Please avoid this place!!!!!! -

Skip this awful place
If I could give -10, I would. When I went to book my appointment, I provided as much detail as possible (my event, size, color, style, etc.) When we got there. I guess I wasn't important because I'm not a bride. The saleswoman was the rudest and most insensitive person I've ever dealt with in my life. When she asked what I was looking for, I told her. She looked at me and told me that I was much larger than what I was telling her. She then proceeded to tell me there isn't much of a selection in that size and figure out if I want to pay $500-$1,000 or over $1,000. She showed me the dresses and they were all hideous and looked like they have been there since 1990. She kept trying to force the ugliest dresses on me. I tried one on and it was awful. I could go on and on. I ended up having a panic attack and had to go outside for air. My mom told her we are done here and said we will just go to the mall. I was so upset and really dreading going to the mall. We went to several stores but due to supply & demand most stores did not have anything. I found my dream dress at Macy's. It was smaller than my normal size, fit me like a glove, and made me feel beautiful. We went to check out and it was on sale. I ended up with a beautiful gown and shoes for less than $100. Stay away from that place if you aren't size 0 and have an unlimited budget. Will NEVER recommend Jan's to anyone. -

My mother needed to find a gown for my upcoming wedding and someone suggested that we try Jan's. We should have walked out after the first appointment, but my mom thought that the saleswoman was just having a bad day, and my mother ended up finding a beautiful dress for my wedding. They wouldn't order her a new dress and made her buy one that had been tried on by other people. (They said to order a new dress it would add a large sum of money to the price of the dress). My mother also did not love that the dress was strapless, the saleswoman assured her that the shaw could be made into a beautiful jacket. So my mom felt great about that, and bought the dress. Once the fittings began it just went down hill, the seamstress is rude and has no idea what she is doing. And said if she wanted the jacket made out of her shaw it would cost another $500. After 5 fittings we left today with the dress (that has blood stains on it because the seamstress poked her with pins at the last fitting). The answer from the owner Jan was sometimes those things happen. And asked that we do not tell my mom's friends about her bad experience. So instead of not telling my mom's friends in person, I'm posting on every wedding related website possible. Stay away from this place, they are rude, unprofessional, and just out for your money. -

If I could give zero stars I would. I went there months ago with my mom to get her mother of the bride dress from this store. She picked out her dress and paid for it all, spending over $1,000 between the $800 dress and over $200 in alterations.
Our issue lies with the alterations and the total lack of communication from the people in charge. After going to the alterations with one of the seamstresses, she pointed out an area of extra fabric by the zipper. The seamstress said that she just needed to "iron it out, it was fine." Trusting the seamstress, she takes it home and still skeptical, goes to two other seamstresses, who both tell her that the zipper was not set correctly and there was too much fabric.
My mother then calls Jan’s back, upset that the seamstress was wrong about the ironing, and the woman rudely replies to "come down and I can take a look at it." Mind you, this is after knowing that my mom has a 3 hour round trip.. to not bother reassuring her that she would fix it, just a "I guess I can look at it" was not gong to work. My mother ended up going to another seamstress in Montclair, who said she was horrified that the seamstress at Jan's boutique even let her leave the store, as she did the zipper incorrectly and had too much fabric in that area as my mom complained about.. She also found fingerprint stains on the dress that my mom did not notice until then.
I had contacted the manager after my mom told me what happened. The manager called me later in the day and was very dismissive with me, telling me that "her seamstress would NEVER recommend ironing the dress (which is a compete lie) but would call me after speaking with the seamstress that Saturday." Saturday came and went and I never received a call back from them. I am mortified that women like my mother drop over $1,000 that they would treat customers like this. It is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE.
