My daughter’s wedding was October 11, 2025 at Jan Serr Studios and we are so happy we selected the venue. From the food to the service staff, everything was over the top!! And the venue at night… stunning. All of our meetings before the event took place during the day so I was floored that evening looking out at that Milwaukee Eastside skyline. Katie, Senior Event Planner with Saz's Hospitality Group was great. She knows the venue and what works and doesn’t – and we listened to her.
Back to the food. We did 5 Stations including dessert. Our guests were blown away with the quality and variety provided and are still talking about the evening. I highly suggest the stations. And you might think that parking might be an issue, but it certainly wasn’t for us.
All and all, you cannot go wrong with Jan Serr; a beautifully different venue!

Our wedding at Jan Serr Studio on 10/11/25 was everything we hoped for and more. The venue is breathtaking on its own, but the food… wow. It wasn’t just good, it was unforgettable. Our guests are still talking about it, still reaching out to tell us how beautiful the venue was and how incredible the food tasted. To hear people relive our day with that level of excitement means more than I can ever put into words.
The staff was professional, attentive, and effortless to work with. They handled every detail so smoothly that we were able to just relax and enjoy our day. The atmosphere, the views, the food all of it came together perfectly.
Jan Serr Studio gave us a day filled with joy, beauty, and memories we will hold onto for the rest of our lives. Choosing this venue was one of the best decisions we made, and we will forever be thankful for how they helped shape such a meaningful chapter of our story.
If you want a wedding venue that delivers beauty, organization, and a dining experience people won’t stop raving about, Jan Serr Studio is the one. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. -

Best Venue on the East Side!
Jan Serr Studio was our dream city venue! We had passed by this venue so many times and when we got a chance to tour it planning for our wedding we fell in love at first sight. We loved the views of the city and the lake from their floor to ceiling windows and outdoor balcony. Minimal decorations were needed as the space is beautiful on its own. Saz’s is the caterer and all the food was incredible, so many options to choose from at the group tasting. Saz’s bar team was very accommodating to make our fun signature cocktails. Katie was our Saz’s coordinator and she was the best at answering our questions quickly and adjusting last minute requests even on the week of our wedding. Highly, highly recommend this venue to those who love the East Side of Milwaukee and celebrating all the way until midnight. We had the absolute best wedding reception. ❤️ -

Our Perfect Wedding Day
After visiting Jan Serr, we knew that’s where we wanted to get married. In our eyes, nothing could beat the breathtaking city skyline and Lake Michigan view. We also learned that planning our wedding was going to be made so easy with the help from Katie and rest of the Saz’s staff. Everyone was so accommodating and helped us coordinate every detail so our wedding day would go smoothly. We also used their bridal suite for getting ready which was not only so aesthetic and fun, but also loved by the hair and makeup team. It was truly the perfect day and we got so many compliments ranging from the beautiful venue, great tasting food and drinks, and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to help make our day so special!

My husband and I got married this October and it turned out amazing!! Katie did an amazing job at being super responsive, super flexible and sooo helpful throughout the planning process! The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL and we continue to receive compliments on how amazing it was, along with the food and drinks! I would highly recommend having your wedding at Jan Serr Studio! The service was incredible and you will not be disappointed! -

Highly recommend!
We had such a great experience at Jan Serr! It was an absolutely beautiful venue, the staff were great and the food was delicious. The huge picture window backdrop made for a gorgeous wedding at sunset, with the light perfectly streaming through during the ceremony. Leading up to the big day, Katie was responsive, helpful and played a huge role in getting everything prepared. We HIGHLY recommend Jan Serr as a wedding venue!!! She was also great at connecting us with vendors and facilitating the delivery of certain rentals (i.e., the chandeliers and bar from Bartique). -

My husband and I got married at Jan Serr Studio on Sept 7, 2024 and had the most perfect day! Jan Serr Studio falls under Saz's Hospitality Group, so the Saz's Catering was fabulous as well. We worked with Katie at Saz's, who was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire wedding planning process. We ended up deciding to rent items like linens, the bar, seating, lighting, etc. because we didn't favor what Jan Serr had in house - so that's something for couples to keep in mind when budgeting and selecting a venue! I would recommend other couples to have their wedding at Jan Serr. It's a very unique and beautiful space. -

We got married on July 26, 2024, at Jan Serr Studio, and had an absolutely perfect day in every way! Working with Katie and the Saz’s Catering staff was an all-around phenomenal experience. Communication throughout the entire process was prompt and immensely helpful, selecting food and rentals was easy and fun, and all of the help we received for both the rehearsal and the wedding day was unmatched. We can’t recommend this venue and staff enough! -

Flawless Event
My daughter had her wedding on 03/23/2024 and it could not have been better. The communication before the event was exceptional, Katie coordinated the tasting and the chef was accommodating and responsive to adjustments. When we arrived at the venue everything was as expected. The venue was clean, staff was ready to serve and the views of the lake and the city were stunning. As for the service, it could not have been better, all staff (servers & bartenders) were professional, efficient, and timely. The food from Saz's is a must, it is plentiful and the taste is amazing. You would never believe that the food was produced in high volume, it is on par with what you would receive at a 5-star restaurant. Each food item was as discussed and the guests loved all the different options and raved about the quality. If you want a flawless event the combination of Jan Serr and Saz's is the way to go. -

Loved Jan Serr for our Reception!
We got married on July 8, 2023 and it was amazing! The catering, food, bar, views, and terrace were all top notch. We would recommend this venue for any couple looking for an industrial, chic and modern space that can be dressed up to your liking. Katie on the team was lovely to work with and was there for all our inquiries. 10/10! -

I own Midwest DJ Productions. We recently had the pleasure of playing at Jan Serr Studio for Nikki and Felipe’s wedding. The venue was gorgeous and the staff was amazing to work with! The best wedding experience!
Planning weddings can be very stressful but choosing Jan Serr and having the opportunity to work with Katie was one of the best wedding decisions my husband and I made. Katie was a joy to work with - extremely responsive, accommodating, and genuinely put in effort to make our day feel so special. The entire Jan Serr Team made us feel so taken care of and we were able to really enjoy and be present throughout our reception and time at Jan Serr. We would absolutely recommend Jan Serr to any couple looking for a high quality and unique venue with amazing service and food! -

Jan Serr - The Best Place to have a Iconic Wedding!
We got married at Jan Serr Studio on August 26th, 2023, and it was the most positive experience. Both us and our guests left with such a wow factor from the beautiful venue and the team at Saz's was absolutely amazing to work with in the planning process, and day of. The food and drinks couldn't have been better. 10/10 would recommend! -

Stunning Venue with Spectacular Service
Jan Serr Studios was the dream wedding venue! We worked with Katie who handled coordinating with our vendors, rentals, and food selection and could not have had a better experience. Katie was extremely responsive and flexible with my ever changing requests and questions. The food through Saz's was phenomenal. We got so many compliments on the entire day! We found Jan Serr through Saz's catering and from the moment we set foot in the space, we knew it was special. Our guests were in awe of the views this space offered. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was exceptional. Katie is amazing to work with and answered all questions in a timely and efficient manner. I would recommend Saz's catering and Jan Serr to anyone in the Milwaukee area. This venue is truly a hidden gem on Milwaukee's east side. -

Amazing venue and great staff!

The perfect city venue
My husband and I could not be happier with our choice of wedding venue! Jan Serr’s floor to ceiling windows with a view of downtown and Lake Michigan provided a gorgeous backdrop for our early evening ceremony. The space itself is versatile, and the coordinators are SO flexible and accommodating (shout out to Katie, the absolute GOAT), making it incredibly easy to bring your own vision to life. 10/10 recommend! -

Jan Serr October Wedding
Jan Serr studio was the most wonderful place for our October wedding reception. Aside from the gorgeous view of the lake, trees changing colors, and Milwaukee sunset, Katie and her team were extremely professional and attentive. I worked with Katie/Saz's/San Jerr for a little over a year and I never had a negative experience. They did everything in their power to give me my ideal wedding and I cannot thank them enough. I have been getting messages since the wedding regarding not only the beauty of the venue, but also how incredible Saz's food is! -

Highly Recommended Venue!
Jan Serr, especially Katie was the best to work with for our wedding venue and catering! Katie was extremely quick to respond and helped to accommodate for all of our specific asks. We did a few firsts at Jan Serr: (1) requested for cup ramen (Asian ramen noodle snack) as an added late night snack, (2) inputted a window installation to bring more greenery (worked with Jane Kelly Florals), and (3) had a Korean Drumming group perform right before dinner.
All of this went so smoothly. Additionally, Katie would go out of her way to make recommendations to keep our schedule moving along smoothly and even ways to save on cost!
Katie was extremely attentive and present throughout the whole planning process and especially during the tasting, final walk through, rehearsal, and the day of. She's a big reason the planning process went smoother than anticipated.
A HUGE bonus is how delicious the food was! The plates we got were booked perfectly and most importantly not dry which is pretty common with wedding caterers. The food tasted just like it did during the tasting.
Working with Katie from Jan Serr, Jane Kelly Florals, and Sound By Design, the venue was turned into a beautiful spot our guests had so much fun celebrating in.
Lastly, this space is also used for performances and concerts which helped to ensure our sound quality was top notch. I had a friend that mentioned she thought the music was being performed live at one point because the sound quality was so great.
Highly recommended and an extremely affordable choice for a wedding venue! -

My now husband picked out this venue and I fell in love with it too! We loved the industrial feel as well as all the windows!!!! Saz's was amazing as well. Everyone said it was the best food they had at a wedding! Katie was so amazing and helpful in the planning process. We want to relieve the day over and over! -

Stunning Venue, Fantastic Views, and Expert Catering
Our hearts were so full choosing this venue! Jan Serr Studio and Saz’s exceeded all of our expectations (& our guests). From the very beginning, Katie was accommodating, easy to work with, professional, and knowledgeable about options for the space and catering. The venue truly is as beautiful as it is photographed (& even more breathtaking in person).
Venue - We chose to flip the room and every detail was executed flawlessly. The back room was large enough for our entire party to hang out comfortably, touch-up after pictures, and store our belongings throughout. The cocktail area (Gallery) was a fun way for guests to enjoy drinks and appetizers while appreciating the installations. The balcony/outdoor area was important to us, so guests could get fresh air and/or to partake in our Cigar Bar without going too far (the view of Lake Michigan was an added bonus). The ceremony/reception in the main area was incredible… The high ceilings, large windows, open space, and view of the city were fantastic. The beauty of this venue is that you can use it as is and decorate minimally; or you can go above and beyond without feeling like you’ve overcrowded the area.
Catering - We chose family style entrees and received so many compliments on the service, quality, and quantity of food. Everything was served warm and brought out/cleared quickly. The bar service was fast and very friendly – no awkward long lines with thirsty guests. We also chose the Late Night snack options (Saz’s Festival Station) and dessert (Greebies donuts) which were an absolute hit.
We were so pleased to have been married at Jan Serr Studio! And it was an absolute pleasure supporting Saz's, a Milwaukee food staple.

Dream Venue
We had originally booked this space before COVID, not knowing what the next few years would bring. Katie was an absolute dream to work with making sure we felt comfortable and were able to host an event that was not only fun, but safe for our families. Saz's provided great options, phenomenal food, and some of the best service I have ever received at a wedding! This space is an open canvas and our guests cannot stop telling us how amazing our wedding was. Whether you have a party of a few hundred, or a party of 30 like mine - I highly recommend Jan Serr! -

Exceeded all expectations!!
We worked with Katie Hoffman and Saz’s Catering at Jan Serr and all I can say is everything exceeded our expectations!! We had a vision for what we wanted the space to look like visually and it turned out better than we hoped! Not to mention the food was amazing! We chose Saz’s without knowing them prior to selecting them and the food is as good as the reviews state. Our tasting was delicious and we didn’t expect the mass produced food for over 250 people to be the same quality as our personal tasting but it was just as good if not better! We had SO many compliments from our guests about the food. And lastly, Katie was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire process. She was quick to respond to emails/calls, so accommodating and overall just a great human and person to be around. The rest of the wait staff the day of our event was no different from Katie. All efficient, kind and exceeded expectations. We HIGHLY recommend Jann Ser Studio and Saz’s Catering. -

Yes Yes Yes!! Have your wedding here! Jan Serr is the most incredible wedding venue in Milwaukee! It was exactly what we were looking for in an industrial loft space. Right when we walked in we knew we had to book it! Katie from Saz's catering made it so easy every step of the way with menus, drinks, billing or any other questions we had. I would highly recommend this venue! All of our guests were stunned and were complimenting the space all night! -

The best modern/industrial wedding venue in Milwaukee!
Jan Serr Studio was the best choice for our wedding venue! It was the perfect balance of modern and industrial with an INCREDIBLE view of Milwaukee! The coordinator was absolutely amazing. She was very informative and helped make the evening run smooth with the team we had there. So thankful that the spaces they had available were customizable for whatever style we wanted! Best day ever!
Jan Serr was exactly what we were looking for! We loved the open space with ceiling to floor windows. We added some of our own decorations to the beautiful industrial style to make it into our dream wedding. All of our guest complimented on how different, but awesome Jan Serr was. As a bride that was exactly what I wanted to hear! I wouldn't have changed a thing aboit.our special day. -

We had an incredible experience with this wedding venue and couldn’t be happier with our choice. The location is perfect for out-of-town guests and the top floor and balcony have amazing views of downtown and the lake that make for beautiful photos.
The space worked perfectly for our reception with just shy of 200 guests; the dance floor was a huge hit and stayed packed all night. While the venue requires catering through Saz's, they exceeded our expectations in every way and accommodated our guests' dietary restrictions. I recommend the Petite Filet (cooked perfectly!) with rosemary mashed potatoes.
This review would not be complete without mentioning our event planner. She helped coordinate everything with the vendors and explained everything so that the wedding day would be stress-free. The staff was professional, organized, and attentive throughout the night.
We received so many compliments from guests about the views, the food, and the overall vibe. If you’re looking for a venue with a great location, views, and a team that truly knows how to run an event, we highly recommend Jan Serr Studio. -

I would highly recommend this venue for your perfect wedding day. We knew we wanted a space with a wide open dance floor with a modern/industrial feel, and this fit the bill perfectly. I have a big family and was looking to accommodate a wedding up to 300 people, and Jan Serr offered more than enough space. As they do many events beyond just weddings, they offer a lot of different style options for your event (though each decoration rental is a cost separate from the space rental). We worked mainly with Katie throughout the process, and she was incredibly responsive and incredibly kind.
The only catering option is Saz's as the company owns the space. As a native Wisconsinite and former Wauwatosa resident, I was quite pleased with that - though it's absolutely not the bar food you're used to! They had many menu options and great packages to pair with alcohol at an affordable rate. We opted for the buffet option to allow flexibility with our guests, and there was more than enough to go around. Katie and her team even worked out individual vegan options for a couple of our guests.
Instead of the traditional cake cutting, we opted for the ceremonial champagne pour (pictured) which was incredibly beautiful (though I would be wary if you are a bit clumsy like me, the tower is understandably precarious). It was a wonderful non-traditional option to have.
We also rented the lower floor for our cocktail hour as the room was turned over for the ceremony. While Saz's team cannot guarantee who the artists in residence will be, we found it added another layer of flavor and fun to our wedding, and who doesn't want to walk around a gallery, cocktail glass in hand, in your best dress?
Katie was not available for the day of our wedding and we had a substitute day of coordinator. She was very nice, but I will note she seemed a bit frazzled throughout the day - nothing at all went wrong, though! We had an EXCELLENT head of waitstaff who went out of her way to make the day feel extra special for us.
Overall, I wouldn't change a thing about our wedding. One point off for flexibility as there is only one catering option, BUT the catering menu is quite extensive and offers a lot of variety, including for dietary restrictions. My ONE regret is that we ordered the late night festival foods package and we were too busy dancing to enjoy any of the offerings! -

Amazing views of Milwaukee in a unique industrial space
Jan Serr was a beautiful venue for our wedding! It accommodated a larger guest count with ease and the huge windows made a beautiful backdrop especially during the stormy weather we had! Katie from Saz’s was great. She worked with us for an extended period due to COVID circumstances and did everything she could to make our vision come to life. Things were a little rocky at first back in 2019 but that was when they were a new venue. I think they’ve really straightened out the kinks! This venue is a blank canvas to make whatever your vision is come to life!

Spectacular Views
We got married 08/05/23. It was a beautiful August evening so the patio balcony was well used by our guests and we got so many compliments on the views and the beautiful space. The food and service was great! They were quick to respond, flexible, and so helpful with everything during our planning process.
My few negatives are VERY minor- the amount of prep time they give vendors is too short (only 2 hrs which is not a lot of time for unloading, set-up, and clean-up. My florist who has been in the business for 20+ years was surprised by the timeline.) There was an issue with the late night snacks- we did the Saz’s famous platter and the food didn’t all come out at the same time (I think the mozz sticks were weren’t ready and came out late so less were eaten and people didn’t realize more snacks had been put out. Again not a big deal but wanted to mention.) Lastly, they kept the lights on during dancing until aroun 9:30-10 when I got a few comments so I went to the staff to ask them to turn them down - just wish I as the bride wasn’t the one who had to bring this to their attention. Overall, we highly recommend Jan Serr and throughly enjoyed our wedding but wanted to bring a few minor things to -

We recently held our wedding at Jan Serr Studios, and overall, it was a wonderful experience! From start to finish, the staff was incredibly timely, responsive, and well-coordinated — we always felt taken care of, and the day ran so smoothly thanks to their organization.
Our guests are still talking about the beautiful atmosphere and backdrop — the space truly made for a memorable celebration. The food was delicious, and the catering team did a great job ensuring everything was served fresh and on time.
There were a few minor downsides: we felt a bit limited in some of the décor options we wanted to customize, and the food pricing was on the higher side. However, the overall quality, service, and experience made it well worth it.
We’d absolutely recommend to other couples looking for a well-run, beautiful venue with great food and a team that truly knows how to make the day special.
