  After looking at a couple of photographers, we found Jim through a friend. He was down-to-earth and easy-going, which was important for us as we were sharing our big day with him. We had an engagement shoot with him in July, which allowed us to get to know each other. Those pictures were great - full of light and composed really well without much fuss. Our wedding day experience went very well and he was there to document every moment in a way that was unobtrusive but thorough. He got us the pictures just 5 weeks after the wedding and in time for sharing them over Christmas. And… he was the best value compared to others we interviewed. We were able to have a second shooter to capture every angle at a good price.

  We loved having Jim as our wedding photographer. From our engagement photos to our wedding photos, Jim really honed in on the candid moments, the real smiles, the unexpected glances, and the magic of the night. In doing so, our pictures told a real story, and we couldn't be more grateful to him for capturing such a huge milestone in our lives - He gave us some of the most beautiful memories, and my husband and I both recommend his unique style, grace, and charm to all those out there looking for an awesome photographer.

  Jim and his second shooter Allison were both wonderful! The professionalism with which they handled the whole day definitely confirmed that I would love the end product. I felt confident that what Jim and Allison were catching would highlight everything I most wanted to remember from the day - the love that was shared! We were able to give a pretty detailed run-through of the day and I was confident that they knew what I wanted to capture. There were so many sweet moments I wouldn't have been able to see if Jim hadn't caught them and I'm so pleased I was able to enjoy them!

  It's been a year since our rehearsal dinner and we recently looked back at Jim's photographs from the evening - they were fabulous! Jim has a great eye and is great at spotting innovative and creative shots. He is very flexible and easy to work with and loves to capture interesting candid photos. He's a nice guy to boot and works the crowd great! I highly recommend him for any event.

  James Bearden Photography is highly reccomended by me, a recent bride, and DEFINITELY deserves the 5-star ratings! We were extremely impressed with both his professional attitude and the quality of the finished product. Jim always ensured that my husband and I were "in the loop" with the logistics--which is VERY helpful during a time that can be so stressful! He was wonderful to work with and truly cares about his clients. The passion he has for photography shows in the photos that he takes. Months after the wedding, looking at the pictures brings us right back to all of those amazing moments! James Bearden Photography is a definite winner!!

  Jim photographed our wedding in September 2010 and we could not recommend him more highly! We had not met Jim until the morning of the wedding and he immediately blended right in with our family and friends! Jim was incredibly generous with his time (and patience!) and we are so grateful to have had him capture our big day. Our photos came out beautifully and we couldn't believe all the special moments that Jim was able to capture. Thank you so much, Jim!

  Jim was a fantastic photographer and I could not recommend him highly enough. He captures the magic of the day in a way that is very special -- catching really unique moments shared between bride and groom, parents, family, and even guests. Not to mention he is so personable, extremely professional, totally open to hearing your suggestions and feedback, and just all around a pleasure to deal with! His prices cannot be beat -- especially given the artistic product that will last forever.
  
  He not only did a fabulous job on my wedding photos but his photos are far and away better than any photographers I've seen (i.e., those other friends have used). I wouldn't ask anyone else to professionally photograph a special occasion!

  Jim did a wonderful job at our wedding. My spouse and I held the event in Charleston, SC and Jim was very accommodating. The photos from our wedding captured the moments perfectly.   Jim was great to us. He was very professional and organized. We were able to meet and see an entire set of proofs from a wedding he shot before we signed any contracts. He took the time to get to know us and understand what kind of wedding we wanted to have and the pictures are as perfect as the day was. If I did it again, the only thing I would do differently is be more specific as the bride about what formal, posed shots I wanted. And I'm sure that Jim would be ready for anything you wanted. He's a very flexible and personable guy and is a very talented photographer.
