Party Starter!

Party over here!! That's exactly how it felt with DJ Jam Music behind the turntables at our reception. DJ Jam was punctual, professional and knew how to read the crowd to ensure the musical selection met our needs. We would definitely recommend DJ Jam for future events.

Engaging and in tune with everyone's needs!

We were drawn to John's services after seeing the stellar reviews left by many couples after hiring him. He was as good as promised, and more.
In particular, John's calming, engaging, and grounded presence helped us and our families and friends to feel welcome, at ease, and celebratory during what could otherwise have been a stressful experience. I would highly recommend this gentleman and his craft!

Highly recommended

I cannot rate him high enough! He did a wonderful job as our DJ And also with each of the weddings games we played. He also had a beautiful display of our wedding monogram that went perfect with our venue. He was very professional but also accommodating as we had a few last minute tweaks in the ceremony. He definitely had the dance floor packed all night and I couldn’t recommend a better DJ to have at your function, wedding etc. Thank you again for your wonderful services. -The Montgomery’s

10 STARS!!!!!

We decided to hire DJ John Young because he was highly recommended by our wedding planner based upon the style of our wedding, and music selections we needed. The process was easy! He actually sent a questionnaire with pertinent info to make sure he had all the info needed for song selections, types of music/genres, what not to play, etc. He responded to our emails & answered all of our questions as well. He even came to our final walk through of the venue and we had a chance to meet. I was kind of a bridezilla, so that meant a lot to me and my now husband. It showed us that he truly cared about his clients, took the time out to come, go over & finalize any last details. We also used his services for our up lighting. It put the finishing touches on the lighting for the ballroom. When the night was over on our big day, we received sooooooo many compliments of what an AMAZING job he did!!!! My husband and I were super busy taking additional photos, we didn’t get a chance to enjoy all of the music, but our guest did. We were sent videos of dance routines, couples together & guest enjoying themselves. I was actually sad that I didn’t get a chance to party with them. When we had to cut the daddy/daughter dance due to my dad not feeling well, he didn’t miss a beat or get upset. He kept the party going. Our family, friends, church members & co-workers cannot stop talking about the great job he did. For all of you bridezillas out there, rest assured DJ John Young is the best! As you know some vendors are slow to respond, don’t throughly read emails & can be unprofessional. It makes you wonder & worry about the “what if’s” for the big day. No worries with him! He arrived hours early to set up, had his black suit on, played our song selections & kept the energy high throughout the night with guest. If I could give 10 stars I would! A true professional & you can tell he loves what he does. For me, this was very important for all of our vendors we hired. Someone who genuinely cares & enjoys what they do for a living. You know that they will give 100%. Make sure to book DJ John Young of JAM MUSIC. You will not be disappointed!!!

Highly recommend JAM MUSIC

John is very good at what he does and you can tell he genuinely loves it! He had the tall task of following up two musical acts from the ceremony and cocktail hour, for a very diverse and energetic crowd. Pop, Rap, reggae, dance hall, and country! He found a way to get it all in and keep us entertained! John listened to our wishes and wacky requests and made them work. He has a handy dandy worksheet to fill out that helps him MC your evening, and prepare a song list that will keep your crowd jamming all night! What a party! Thanks JAM MUSIC!

Birthday party DJ

Jam Music met all my expectations and then some. All the requested songs were played along with ones in same genre. Guests were out of their seats and on the dance floor. Jam also provided gobo and uplights that enhanced ambiance of the venue. I would definitely hire again.

Cj John responded whenever I had a question promptly. Very, very professional....crowd enjoyed the music. Kept everything running smoothly. Definitely can tell he’s a master of his craft. I’d use him again for future events as well as recommend to anyone looking for a good solid person.

Our wedding was small and simple, and John was really able to be flexible and cater to that. We had a lot of music requests as my husband isn't American and he was able to get all our favorite songs from his country. All of our guests were very impressed!

The services provided were above board excellent. Mr. Young is an excellent DJ and very attentive to the needs of the customer and guest of the event. The selections of music played were perfect for the guest and the bride and groom.

John Young made our wedding day a phenomenal experience. He kept the schedule going, kept people dancing, played all of our favorite songs. Having a two cultural wedding, he made everyone feel welcomed and everyone had a great time. Will definitely refer him and work with him again in the future! He's patient, kind, professional and he definitely knows his stuff! He was on time, prepared and there were no bloopers. Wonderful DJ!!

It was a great experience working with John and DJ Ray from Jam Music. They were very professional in every phone call we had prior to our wedding. I was very worried about the music dynamic as my family and my husband's family are polar opposites (one side prefers country and one side prefers rap/hip hop), but we had people out on the dance floor the entire night! We had a slight surprise when the musical selection for our first dance was played and appeared to be an acoustic version rather than the one we had practiced too, but that was the only little thing and it really wasn't that big of a deal in the scheme of things. JAM Music was amazing and we would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a great DJ!

John Young/Jam Music kept everyone dancing the entire night. Sometimes weddings can create a difficult task of trying to cater to all age groups but Jam Music did an excellent job at keeping everyone entertained with old jams and current hits. We utilized Jam Music for our ceremony and reception, both of which were seamless. We will definitely utilize John Young/Jam Music for any future dj needs.

I hired John to be our DJ at our June 2017 wedding and could not have been more pleased with his work! From our very first meeting, I knew that he understood the mood and vibe I wanted to create at our wedding. Dinner featured old and new love songs that really touched everyone in the room. I remember looking over during dinner and seeing several guests grooving along with the music - that was exactly what my husband and I had been hoping for. Music after dinner could not have been more perfect. The entire crowd was up dancing and I'm not sure folks ever really sat down. Everyone commented it was the best wedding they had ever been too (which, I know, guests tell every bride!) but I must say, our wedding was such. a. good. time. John was a huge part of that. Should I ever host another party, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him at all.

Jam Music is a must have at any type of special event. Their DJ's are professional and provide just the right atmosphere to ensure that your guests are having a good time. I have utilized Jam Music for a birthday, a wedding, and several school assemblies and they have always surpassed my expectations. I know they are good because my guests keep saying who is the DJ, they are playing the best music. When several people tell you that at an event you are hosting and everyone has a smile on their face, you know you have a winner.

Jam Music provided DJ services for both my wedding ceremony and reception. Amazing job!!! Jam Music was very professional, responded to all emails/text in a timely manner, and played everything song I wanted to hear. They were on it, from announcing the bridal party to making sure the order of events were in tack. Everyone had a great time and thought John was a fantastic DJ. I will definitely use Jam Music again for my DJ needs.

I absolutely LOVE DJ John and JAM Music. He DJ'd my wedding several years ago, my husband's 30th bday, and most recently my husbands 40th bday. He is professional, kind, and kept the music on point the entire night. My guests keep telling me how much they enjoyed the event and the music. My husband's only complaint was that the party ended too soon. In his words "I still had another hour left in me!" Lol! Thanks Mr. DJ for making our event another one to remember.

I received a quick response regarding his availability. John expressed a sincere interest in knowing every type of music and every song the guest of honor wanted played and ensured that they were played at the event. John was the icing on the cake for my wedding! He was professional and responsive right from the start. The music selection that I wanted for my ceremony didn't exist so John created what I needed and it was perfect! And the reception...words can not explain! My guest are still talking about how fantastic the DJ and music was for my NYE wedding! Everyone felt like they left a wedding and went to a NYE party...EXACTLY what I wanted. One of the groomsmen was also a DJ and he was even raving about how great a job John did! A million thanks!!

DJ Ray Jones from JAM Music was extremely professional and responsive. He showed a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience on how to direct a wedding and make it flow seamlessly. He was directing traffic and making sure people knew where they needed to be when they needed to be there and he coordinated with the venue with little need for direction from us. He helped us to have the best day of our lives. We would definitely recommend him to others.

John Young/JAM Music was AMAZING AND AWESOME! My guests loved him and are still talking about the birthday party and the music weeks later. I was very impressed and pleased with the website, their professionalism in doing business, the follow-thru when preparing for the party, and his ability to keep my guests dancing all night with awesome, clean-versions of all of the great music we wanted to hear. We all had a great time and John helped to make my party memorable for both me and my friends. Have shared his contact information with many already and will definitely use his services again. 5 is the highest rating this survey allows me to give. Yet, John/JAM Music is truly a 10!!!!!

I had the pleasure of working with DJ John at my wedding August 6, 2016. My request was somewhat out of the ordinary, as I had 9 Bridesmaids/9 Groomsmen/ and two Ushers. All of which I wanted to come in on different songs at the reception. We met a few months in advance and I provided John with a color coded excel sheet, and he executed it flawlessly.

The part that I really loved is that our guests had formed a Soul Train line, and for some of the guests, John made certain funny comments, and I'm assuming he gauged the age of the individual then played a song according to that person! This was a huge hit and got other people on the floor dancing as well.

Oh, and I can't forget the lighting, Gobo, and draping.... loved that too, lol.

John was a great DJ. My guests loved him. He was extremely responsive to all of my emails and calls leading up to the wedding - he always responded within a couple of hours. He kept the guests dancing all night. We had so much fun, I didn't even want to leave my reception when the horse and carriage arrived. John is fantastic and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a DJ for a wedding or any other event! He truly went above and beyond to make our wedding a success!!!

DJ John Young was amazing! Not only was he flexible with sharing the reception with the band but he went above and beyond to play songs that kept everyone dancing! I hired DJ John Young to DJ my 40th birthday party, my theme was 90's. I gave John a few songs that were a must, but I told him to just keep my guest on the floor and that's exactly what he did, everyone enjoyed the music and stayed on the floor. I would definitely hire him again for future events.

From the very beginning John was professional and timely. He gave his professional suggestion/opinions. He was well rounded and knowledgeable in his field. He was dressed professionally and even wore a mask to be part of the masquerade theme. We danced all night he hit all areas and brought back many memories from high school danced as well as college parties. DJ John Young was very attentive to how we wanted the flow of music to go from the start of the wedding ceremony until the end of the night. Transitions throughout the night were seamless. This vendor would be an excellent choice for whatever type of event you have scheduled. As a DJ not only are his rates affordable and his music tailored to your musical requests/what would be appropriate for the occasion and keep the guests happy but he also comes to the event in professional attire with an impeccable set up. I thought his set up added to my décor rather than detracted which I have seen from other DJ's. He was timely, entertaining and exceeded all of my expectations. Do yourself a favor, forget the rest and choose Jam Music with DJ John. You will be glad that you did. Everyone at my moms birthday raved about his music selection and wanted to book him for future events. Trust me, you will not find a more qualified DJ at such an economical price. I would have paid double for the services he provided but lucky for me, I didn't have to and neither will you.

I am not sure where to begin when it comes to reviewing the exceptional service I received from Jam Music. Everyone who has gotten married gave me one piece of advice when it came to music for my wedding ceremony and reception which was “Make sure you hire the right DJ for your wedding as the music can make or break the vibe of your wedding.” All I can say is that I hired the right company and DJ.

From the very beginning DJ John was very responsive and attentive to me and my husband to be needs regarding music selections. DJ John also has an amazing personality, he is very pleasant, friendly and professional. When I first spoke to John Young of Jam Music, I instantly felt a connection that Jam Music was the company for me regarding my wedding day music. John Young not only looked at me and my husband like clients but also like family. Whenever I called John he answered and was able to answer any questions I had. I felt so comfortable with John and Jam Music that after my second call with him I knew my wedding day music would be FANTASTIC.

On the day of August 3, 2014 (my wedding day) DJ John service was impeccable and so was his style (black suit and tie). I had a vocalist sing as I walked down the aisle. DJ John and the vocalist never met nor had a rehearsal, only a sound check; however no one knew there was no rehearsal between the two as everything was flawless and perfect. As I walked down the aisle everything was just perfect.

DJ John had the reception jamming (hence the name JAM MUSIC) he played all of our requested songs and was a great MC. Everyone was on the dance floor and having a good time. During and after the reception ALL of our guests told us that the DJ was awesome and I totally agreed with them. For your next event if you are looking for a DJ who will deliver and go above and beyond for you, I would highly recommend you go with JAM MUSIC as you will get nothing less than phenomenal service.

JAM Music provided their DJ services for my husband's surprise birthday party. I initially contacted them on Tuesday, with the party scheduled for Saturday evening of the same week. They contacted me within 2 hours and indicated they were able to available...This put my mind at ease that the music would be hot, as I had worked with them for the past 10 years for both personal and corporate parties. They DELIVERED! They were set-up on time, so that guests could enjoy music until I arrived with my husband for the surprise. Not only was their set-up extremely professional but the DJ was able to play music that had our guests (ranging in age from 16 to 65) up and dancing during the entire party!!

I would highly recommend their services and they are the only DJ service I work with from fashion shows, corporate events and personal parties. I have referred their services to other family and friends, who continue to use them as well. They truly exceed expectations every time!

John did a great job working with us to plan music for our wedding. We had pretty specific tastes and he had no problem accommodating our requests, securing the music and making our last minute changes. He also provided a custom monogram that was fabulous. John was absolutely amazing from Day 1 that our wedding planner (Desiree, Dejanae Events) recommended him. We were beyond pleased at each encounter that we had with John. He is professional, on time, and very flexible. We had about a 260 person wedding reception and the age range was from about 20-81. We specifically requested that he make sure that all music was appropriate and fun for all ages. Everyone had a blast, he was organized, came to see the wedding party in the holding room to check our order and presence before introducing everyone. John stayed until about 12:30pm, made reminder announcements about the photo booth, and he topped off the night with a special mix for just the 14 person wedding party after everyone left the reception. It was great and so much fun!! We love John and will recommend him to anyone. Being an 80's baby and coming from a family who loves music, we enjoyed his company and presence. Oh right, and he comes with all his own lights, equipment and all. He's just awesome at a very affordable price.

John Young is a talented DJ who will keep your party rocking. He can spin for any crowd from a 30 year old's wedding, to a high school dance to a 50th birthday party. His selections are always appropriate for the crowd and he keeps everyone dancing. Some DJ's are cd-players and let a song play from start to finish, but John demonstrates precision cuts and blends that won't let you sit down! He is amazing. My family and friends hire him for every event and I highly recommend him. He’ll give you the highest quality service for a great price. You will not find a better DJ - anywhere. You can get light shows and fog, some with video screens… whatever. It’s skill with the music that makes a party fun and John will bring it every time.

John really "got" our audience and played to the crowd, which ranged from 21-66 years of age. At one point EVERYONE was dancing. He has all types of music. I would happily hire him again. He also did an excellent job with the lighting and GOBO for our event.

The DJ did an amazing job the night of our wedding. We had guests of ages varying from early 20s to 70s and everyone had a great time!! He did a great job of playing music that would appeal to everyone during dinner and he appropriately transitioned into more of "party style" music as the guests began "letting their hair down" more and more. Planning a wedding overseas isnt easy and we were nervous about having a DJ we didn't know or couldnt communicate with prior to the wedding. The resort was going to provide their own DJ but we had to communicate via email only. Fortunately, John was able to travel to our wedding from Chicago and everything was wonderful. We had great music for the post wedding cocktail hour and the reception. He did a great job as a MC as well. Everyone enjoyed the music and I would definitely recommend this company. He was very professional, responsive and flexible. Great job Jam Music.

John was a very professional DJ and was very flexible to our needs/wants. I was happy to know that he arrived at our venue a day prior to the event to visualize how he will be placed and how he would provide our introductions. Overall John was the perfect DJ for our wedding!

John Young of Chicago is an attentive, professional DJ who listens to your vision. The music at my wedding was so amazing that everyone danced their shoes off. He is definitely a reliable person who takes a geniune approach to making your day even more special.

DJ John Young was amazing! He was able to get every dancing, from my grandparent to my friends! He was able to accomodate all the music requested and was extremly professional. The best you could ask for!

John was absolutely phenomenal! We submitted several "must play" songs and John centered his musical selections around those songs. There was absolutely something for everyone present. People didn't leave the dance floor until John was packing up his equipment. Highly professional and highly recommended!

John Young was absolutely the best deejay. He played the most appropriate music for the various segments of the wedding reception. The music was calm and easy during dinner, he played all of the appropriate songs for the dances and toasts. He even searched for an instrumental for a surprise solo that I (the bride) wanted to do and emailed it to me beforehand to practice if time allowed. Finally, the dancing portion of the party was the part of the reception that made it a PARTY! EVERYONE who came said it was the best party that they'd been to in a while. Now this was a reception, but it was also a celebration and we celebrated to all sorts of R&B, Hip hop, soul, house music, and traditional wedding line dances all they way to the end of the reception time. People stayed to the end and had sweat their hair out and taken their shoes off because they had so much fun. He was the best, I'd DEFINITELY recommend him for your wedding reception; he's very professional (wore a tuxedo), handled all matters professionally and made our reception a party to remember!
