Was super happy with J&K strings! The booking process was easy and they were very responsive. I requested two songs be played that they didn’t have listed on their sheet music, one was a bit obscure and they learned and played it perfectly. Exactly as I imagined! I liked that you could request specific songs be played as people were sitting down and during cocktail hour. Overall I really think they elevated the entire wedding and we had several people compliment their playing. -

Our 21st Night of September Wedding
J&K strings provided a string quartet for our Catholic church wedding. We sincerely could not recommend them enough. They were so accommodating to all our of song requests, very responsive and sounded absolutely beautiful! Also, on the day of our wedding, our trolly picking us up was extremely late and they played the entire time while everyone waited for us to get there. It was always my dream to have a string quartet at my wedding and they made all of my dreams come true! -

J&K Strings were absolutely beautiful at our wedding. The string players sounded incredible and added such an elegant, romantic atmosphere to our day. They were wonderful to work with and were happy to play my special requests — including “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift, which was everything I dreamed it would be. We had J&K Strings play at our summer wedding in July 2025. From the moment I first spoke with them, they made me feel excited and looking forward to their performance. They had a huge selection of songs in their catalog and I even asked to learn a specific song for me to walk down the aisle and it was absolutely no problem for them. They were professional, reliable, and set the tone for our entire ceremony. I am so thankful they were able to accommodate our wedding day, on a Thursday, with just a few short months notice. We loved having J&K at our wedding! Katie and Johnathan were a pleasure to work with - so friendly, communicative, organized, and professional. They played music during our reception and cocktail hour. My husband was especially excited to hear them play the Philadelphia Eagles' Fight Song and the Jurassic Park theme song, which I had requested as a surprise for him. Katie and Johnathan made sure that he was in the area when they played those. They sounded beautiful and our guests really enjoyed the music! We got married on 10-5-2024 and had J&K Strings as are ceremony and cocktail hour musicians and they were just beautiful.
We chose to have them as a trio and they did not disappoint.
Johnathan was great at helping us plan what songs we were going to use and made amazing suggestions. He was also great at keeping us on track with the planning beforehand. They responded to every email very quickly and with great detail. Even on our final details phone call they were so excited for the day! It just made us all the more excited.
We let them take the reins on what they wanted to play that day. The song selection for before and after the ceremony and during cocktail hour was phenomenal.
We chose to have everybody walk out to, "A Thousand Years" and it was perfection. They were all so very helpful in choosing some music for our unity portions of our ceremony as we had some authentic ideas (we assembled a burger at the altar and that was our unity portion lol. They suggested "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as our song and it was perfect).
It was everything I could have imagined and more. So many of my guests told me that evening how wonderful they were and how good the song selection was.
If you were thinking about having this team at any event I would highly recommend it. They are so professional and down to earth people. You will surely not be disappointed.

J&K Strings was one of our favorite decisions about our wedding! They were very professional to work with and had a large selection of music to choose from. Our music was very important to us as the bride and groom and their uniqueness and sound added to a memorable wedding day. J&K was determined to make our wedding perfect and checked in frequently for logistics. They were easy to communicate with and we did not have to worry about anything thanks to their professionalism . We were able to make our ceremony unique to us thanks to J&K. We selected the duet and it fit our venue perfectly. We were able to select songs unique to each group walking out for our ceremony which was very special. As the bride, I also enjoyed hearing prelude music before the ceremony. From Lord of the Rings to Taylor Swift, all of the music was beautifully played. Our guests commented on the beauty of the music and how our musical selections came to life. We received so many compliments about J&K after our ceremony and during cocktail hour. We cannot say enough about J&K and how they were one of the best decisions about our wedding! Thank you so much J&K!

Beautiful Music!
J&K Strings provided beautiful music for our wedding ceremony. Our guests were welcomed into the venue with the songs of our choosing (there was a wonderful selection of both classical and current pieces!). They were professional, on time, and reasonably priced. My only regret was only hiring them for our ceremony and not extending it to our cocktail hour - their live string duet added a welcome touch of elegance to our day. They also provided great input when we were looking to play a song during the ceremony; their experience helped the ceremony run smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend J&K Strings for your next event! -

We could not recommend J&K Strings enough! Jonathan and Katie were so great to work with and very talented! They responded quickly to all of my emails and questions and were super helpful throughout the planning process. We received so many compliments from guests about how much they loved the music at our ceremony. One of the guests said the music “brought her to tears”. They were the perfect touch to our ceremony. Booking Katie and John was one of the best decisions I ever made. I still have goosebumps when I think back to our big day and hearing them perform while we walked out. The music was beautiful and they are very amazing at what they do. It seems like they truly enjoy it too - as everything was seamless from the beginning when we started communicating up until the end. We still get compliments on our ceremony, and I owe it to them. Johnathon & Katie were a wonderful addition to our ceremony this past October! They along with a cellist provided beautiful string trio music for our outdoor ceremony. We didn't want to go with the standard wedding ceremony music choices and they were able to help us choose some different options. They were wonderfully communicative and understanding, and they were even able to work in a special request I had for the prelude music despite my tardiness in submitting said request. They were also great at reacting in real-time, as our flower girls jumped the gun and J&K Strings were able to cover up their mistake perfectly. We received many complements from our guests on their musical contributions. I can't wait to get our videographer's footage back so I can fully enjoy their music as well! Highly recommend them for your wedding needs! -

J&K strings was an excellent choice. Jonathan was super responsive. He allowed me to bounce ideas off him, constantly email him, and was even open to new song suggestions. We had the duo play before our ceremony began and as us and the bridal party walked in and out. They even continued to play as people lined up to congratulate us. The music was absolutely beautiful and many people commented on how it was the perfect touch. The song selection is vast but, as mentioned above, the duo are open to learning new songs if feasible! The price was excellent, the music was beautiful, and Jonathan was kind. I would recommend this duo without a doubt as we had no issues whatsoever. They were probably the vendor we were most confident in from the start. -

We couldn't be happier with the decision to hire J&K Strings to accompany our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Having them there added an extra touch of magic that made our big day so special. Johnathon and Katie are incredible musicians! They were so responsive and flexible through the whole wedding process. We requested an extra guitar and they were more than willing to accommodate having a trio for the day. I got chills hearing our song start up as we walked down the aisle. Absolutely perfect! All our guests loved the great pop covers that they played during cocktail hour so that it was an equally fun & laid back but elegant atmosphere. J&K Strings was a fantastic addition to make our wedding day extra special. Their communication from the beginning was so prompt and professional, making it easy to plan! Without hesitation, they were able to learn our unique song requests and performed them flawlessly. They also accommodated our request to practice with us at our rehearsal and ensure everything went smoothly (though if you require the same, we gave them an extra tip $$$ to share our appreciation and help with their travel costs). Johnathon and Katie went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we were hoping for, even in March 2021 in the midst of COVID. They both were so sweet, respectful of masking, and everyone loved the music! If you are on the fence with adding live music to your ceremony or cocktail hour, definitely do it and book J&K Strings!! -

One of the best decisions we made was having j&k strings play during our wedding ceremony. Johnathon was so helpful during song selection and assured us the songs we chose would flow nicely together. Katie was unable to attend, but they had a close colleague Alecia substitute on violin.
Though we did not have concrete time frames for our ceremony, they were still able to perform music that sounded as if it had been rehearsed for weeks. It flowed beautifully and they sounded incredible. As my husband arrived at the venue he said he heard them playing "can't help falling in love" - a song that holds a special place in his heart for his late grandmother which was someone he shared a close bond with. He said hearing that made it feel like his grandmother was there with him in spirit bringing tears to his eyes and setting the tone for our day. We did not plan for music during our first look, however,Johnathon and Alecia took our moment to a whole new level by playing the most incredibly sounding background music for us- it was perfect! Their performance was so enchanting. Our friends and family loved them as well!
Johnathon is also the sweetest and caring person, you can tell he puts his heart into making his clients events one to remember forever. Our only regret was not being able to spend more time with them!
Thank you so much for being a part of our day Johnathon and Alecia. You are incredible! We will forever remember the beautiful sounds you provided for us on our special day!

We are so lucky to have been introduced to J&K strings. We wanted live music to play before our ceremony, and wanted something beautiful, elegant and simple. We found just that with J&K strings. They took our personal request to play “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles and “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles-which had been part of our wedding vision for a long time. We can’t believe how lucky we are that they were able to arrange such beautiful pieces. Coming down the aisle together to “I Choose You” was emotional and meaningful for us and our guests were so enamored with the effect of the cello and violin together. -

Professionalism Personified
Johnathon and Katie are the best! My husband and I contacted several different duos and trios in the quest to find the right music for our wedding ceremony. Admittedly, we are very picky. Johnathon was super responsive, answered all of our questions, and got us set up in record time. He also happens to be a really great person as well, very kind and considerate. He made sure to check in a couple weeks before the wedding to go over our last minute details. We chose the songs for the ceremony in advance from a list provided. Johnathon and Katie also let us know that they could learn a song if it what we wanted was not on the list. The ceremony could not have gone any better! So many people came up to us at the reception to remark on how wonderful the ceremony music was. I could not recommend J&K more. Efficient, reliable, talented, kind, and reasonably priced. Easiest decision we made, and by far the easiest vendor to deal with on the big day. -

Having J&K Strings at our ceremony and cocktail hour was the perfect way to complete our wedding in the way we imagined it. Johnathon and Katie area very responsive to emails, open to new ideas, flexible, and willing to talk through anything. They really wanted to be sure that we went into our wedding feeling confident in our choice to hire them. They sent us an extensive list of options and were also happy to learn new songs if we requested them! The two truly compliment one another and make for a perfect duo. Elegant, Quirky, or Both!
Johnathon and Katie were pure delight for our outdoor wedding and made planning easy (even though I was out of state). They orchestrated a version of Mairi's Wedding for me (even including the intro from my favorite version by the High Kings) and the Morrowind theme for my husband. It made our day timeless and classic with the instrumemts, but personalized and fun with the selection of tunes. They played a mix of classical and modern songs, and we got compliments both on their skill and on how fun they were. Our photographer laughed and said "this is amazing" when they layed Taylor Swift, and my mum and sister cried over the Cyndi Lauper song they always listened to in the car together.
I cant think of a single thing J&K could have done to make our day any more perfect. -

He was quick to respond, able to communicate the capabilities of himself and his accompanying partner and offer suggestions when I was wavering with making decisions. What was most impressive was that all of our communication was done via email, with our church's music director and lead soloist taking point, leaving me able to focus on other areas of the wedding and not stress about the ceremony music. I was so excited to see my husband while standing in the back of the church, that I almost didn't even notice the music. I mean that in the most complimentary of ways. The music was another piece of the wedding puzzle that fit perfectly and seamlessly. The strings were beautiful and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I'm teary eyed writing this review, remembering how delicate they sounded and how happy I was not to have left the instrumentals solely to the church organ. If you're looking for a duo this is the pair to book. They're professional, responsive and patient which any bride in the midst of planning knows, is a VERY important quality.
