    Great to work with. Very calm and friendly. Helped me be at ease the day of. Puts together great photo books. Good selection of services offered in packages. Very flexible about adding and subtracting items to get the perfect set of services.

    I chose Jody because he had a good choice of packages at good prices, which included an image CD at no extra cost (this is rare). Although he was not prompt in responding to our emails/phone calls when we were asking to see our photos (he should change the "2 weeks" in the contract to "2 months" to be realistic), I do feel overall like he was a good choice for us. He has a quiet personality and blends in well with the guests, suggested poses and arrangements, and chose good spots and angles around our chapel to shoot from. We got great candid shots of all the important moments, including sweet ones like Auntie pinching a toddler's cheeks, and quality photos of the wedding party. If you have a pretty location, hair and makeup done, and value candid and classic shots, Jody will get you some wonderful photographs of your wedding!

    FIRST OFF: DO NOT USE THIS MAN.

    I received a Groupon from my sister-in-law as a gift for J. Herndon Photography. I looked up his reviews and they weren't good... but it was a gift, so I contacted him. I mentioned that his reviews left much to be desired and he chalked it up to bridezillas and a lot on his plate, but assured me that he was fine now. There was some confusion about the time and place, but we quickly worked that out. We met up at the designated time and place and he was very personable.

    He told me that he'd have my pictures on a disc within a week and if I didn't hear from him, I should call him. I called and called and called. It was two weeks later and he hadn't put the pictures on a disc. He told me to call him back in a few days. I told him to call me when it was finished. After another week of calling and getting no answer (and not being able to leave a voicemail), I emailed Groupon.

    Groupon stepped in. They told me I should hear back from in within three business days. I did not. I called and called until he picked up. He said that he though he called me and that my photos had been finished. I asked him to mail them to me. He told me to save postage, he'd just drop them off. That was a week ago. We are less than six blocks away.

    It's been almost two months and no pictures.

    This is the worst photographer. He has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. He does not respond to emails or phonecalls in a timely manner. Please, whatever you do, do not waste your time or money with him. It will make your wedding experience awful!!

    I bought the Jody Herndon photograpy session on groupon. Overall this has been a horrible experience, from many phone calls and emails trying to schedule the session. He has a voice mail box that was constantly full so you could not leave a message. I finally had the pics done. After multiple texts to him and many they are ready responses. It was initially going to be ready in 4 weeks, then 7 then 8 and it finally took 11 weeks to get the disk. Then I was to select 2 pics for the 5 x 7s. I have still not recieved those. It has been 5 weeks since I told him my selection. He texted me at 3 am (Completely unprofessional) 2 weeks ago to say they were ready. I have sent multiple messages for me to pic them up or him to mail them to me with no response. He needs to be taken off groupon because I cannot imagine other customer experiences. The pics were very impt to me of my children and the entire experience has been very frustrating. It is my worst customer experience I have had. I did not have him for a wedding, but I would hate for someone to choose him for such a important event and have such a stressful time getting the final product.

    I purchased a gift certificate through Groupon for Jody's photography service, and he left myself and my parents nine grandchildren with zero pictures from our photo shoot. He seems nice at first, but lacks any professionalism at all. He came over and did the photo shoot at my parents' house and promised the pictures would be available 2 weeks later when he returns from a family trip. I emailed him about the pictures when they were due and he responded saying he needed a few more days. I made numerous calls after that for over a month and I never ever heard back from him. He even charged me an extra $30 by only cash or check to come to our house because he said it was further than he is used to travelling. Jody is the very LAST person anyone should hire for photography if you expect to walk away with even one picture. Again, he seems nice, but don't let that fool you if you expect him to provide you with your pictures too.

    Warning to Others: Do Not Do Business with J Herndon Photography!!!
    Wasn't a wedding, but a family photo shoot. Service was purchased through Groupon. We made numerous attempts to contact photographer to schedule our shoot. Voice mail machine was frequently full and photographer wouldn't return our calls. We finally reached out to Groupon to ask for a refund. Groupon instead contacted photographer to encourage him to follow up. We finally heard from him and scheduled our shoot. When the day arrived, there was rain in the morning, but the weather cleared up and was beautiful. Earlier in the day, photographer actually reached out and suggested we consider the possibility of rescheduling, though no decision was made to cancel. We made numerous attempts to communicate throughout the day via email, text and phone call to verify shoot was on as planned. Photographer responded to none of it. Our family got dressed and showed up at the location at the appointed time. The photographer never showed up. We waited for two hours with our three kids and he never showed up. Finally, we got a text from him saying he'd had a "family emergency" and hadn't taken our contact info with him to the hospital, very odd since we were texting and calling his cell phone, leaving our number in messages and he didn't use that information. I read later where this photographer has a habit of making excuses for failed or long-delayed delivery of his product, that he has an 'F' rating from the Better Business Bureau--and now we know why. Buyer beware. We were only out the amount of the Groupon, the amount of the haircuts, and the time we lost waiting around for a photographer that never arrived. I can't imagine entrusting something as important as my wedding to this person. Completely undependable and not the least bit professional in the way he conducts his business. Horrible customer service. Take your business somewhere else!

    Do not use this photographer! I interviewed five photographers and I thought his easy going personality would mix nicely with the wedding party. HE also had a very nice portfolio of work. At the time when I hired him there were no negative reviews to be found on the internet. He did show up to the wedding and took some really great photos, but here I am 21 months after the wedding still waiting on my bridal album. I finally received the prints of the photos (printed off of snapfish of all places) and my CD approximately 7 months after the wedding. Approximately 15 months after the wedding we received the parent's albums after calling constantly. He is nice, but is not professional and should not be in business. His responsiveness is non-existent and if you ever talk to him he is full of excuses. I only received a portion of my product after emailing, calling, texting and going by him home multiple times. I seriously doubt I will ever receive my bridal album. I am now going to be out of the expense of using another vendor to print my album. Please note that he most definately was not the cheapest photographer. Do not leave one of the most important times in your life up to the guy, because you will be sadly disappointed and out several thousand dollars.

    Future Brides..make sure you save the contract! Mr. Herndon was very personable and flexible....BUT.....we have been married for over 2 months now and still do not have our wedding pics. The contract specifically stated that the pics would be available for viewing in 2 to 3 weeks. He had all sorts of excuses why our pics weren't ready....busy, sick family, etc. We have made numerous phone calls and sent emails and still no response from him. Looks like we won't be getting our pics any time soon. I do NOT recommend him to anyone!
