Jared was very professional and kind and did a wonderful job capturing our special day. In the end, we had over 600 photos to choose from and were very happy with most of them!

Wedding Photos & Video

We loved working with Jared and Nicole for our wedding photos and video. They were very thorough, personable, and professional. Our photos and video turned out wonderfully and exceeded any expectations we had. We love looking back and reliving all of the moments they captured with our closest friends and family. Jared also included an engagement session that was just as great! We would recommend his business over and over again.

Freaking Awesome!!!!

Hire him!!! Jared is the absolute best photographer around. With our wedding package we got an engagement session as well and he knocked it out of the park with both. He’s so good we hired him for our family Christmas photos and will continue to hire him for any other special occasion we want professionally photographed. His pictures are amazing, super professional, easy to work with and you don’t have to take out a loan to pay for it. I 100% highly recommend hiring him for your wedding!

Great experience!

Jared was easy to work with, and accommodated us in any way we needed. He made sure to get all the photos we wanted, and followed our lead when my husband and I wanted extra photos during the middle of the reception. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great wedding photographer!

Jared did an amazing job. He had great ideas and went the extra mile to make sure he captured everything on our wedding day. His professionalism and sense of humor really helped calm the butterflies before the ceremony. 😉😉😉

Excellent Wedding Photography!

As the bride I was extremely nervous and was just wanting everything to go so well especially the photos! During the photos Jared was very great with working around the weather, cause at one point it did rain. But even then he made it work which made me feel real good during and after the photos :) Jared is very open to suggestions during the photos and he always catches the right moment for a photo which I thought was incredible! He did a amazing job and I'm super thankful for the job he did. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the photos he took!

Truly the best photographer

Jared is very attentive. He captures some of the most unique moments. You will not be disappointed in his work. He shows nothing but true professionalism. As a bride you miss the beginning of the ceremony but Jared will capture it all for you to enjoy for years to come. You will be disappointed if you do not hire him for your wedding photographer or any other occasion!

Liked him so much.. I used him twice!!

Jared shot both my wedding and my family photos 5 years apart. He’s a professional whom loves his work and it shows in his final product. He was patient with the large group and captured all the special moments for me to cherish forever. I highly recommend him as your photographer!

Amazing Photographer AND reasonably priced!

Jared is great! He traveled to stl for both our engagement photos and wedding and the pictures he took were even better than I could have imagined! He captured all aspects of our wedding day perfectly. He is very flexible and gave us direction without being bossy. HIGHLY recommended!

To say Jared and his team are amazing is an understatement. He captured how beautiful, fun and perfect our wedding day was from beginning to end. Jared was so easy to work with and it felt good seeing how excited he got taking photos. You can really tell he loves his job and cares about the people he is working with. We cared about our wedding photos more than anything and I am SO happy with how they turned out because now I can relive the best day ever by just looking at them. If I could give 100 stars I would. Our photos are stunning and EXACTLY what we hoped for- candid, artistic, and in the MOMENT!!! Could not be HAPPIER J. Design Studios captured our wedding for us. They also shot a beautiful highlights video for us, as well as a full length video of our ceremony. We had a blast with the crew, too! HIGHLY recommended!!!

Jared was great to work with. He responded to emails quickly and helped me work out a timeline for the wedding. Very professional and easy to talk to. I don't usually feel comfortable take photos but with him it felt natural. So thank you very much!!!

Jared and Joanna were absolutely great! They are great photographers, extremely professional, and just overall awesome to work with. We first met Jared for our engagement session and he had awesome ideas for places to go and the pictures turned out even better than we could have hoped. During our wedding, they brought a ton of value by helping our DJ get the party going and keeping the family photo process organized. Also, after the ceremony, we took the entire bridal party to a bar for a drink before the reception. Once we arrived, the place was absolutely packed and we were so discouraged, we were about ready to just leave BUT Jared it took it upon himself to make it work by finding us a place in the crowd and ordering the drinks. They took such great care of us the entire day. We don't live in Missouri (from Indiana), but would seriously considering traveling that far just to work with them again for family photos, etc. If you want photographers that are professional, talented, and that will go above and beyond, we highly recommend J Design Studios!!

Jared and Joanna were absolutely excellent to work with. They completely went above and beyond our expectations on our wedding day. They paid close attention to all the details and really helped us through our overall wedding day. When you book with J Design, you'll get so much more than just a great photographer! They were very professional and they captured some of the most beautiful, candid moments of our day. Jared spent so much time with us during our engagement shoot as well and the pictures were stunning. We couldn't be happier with the finished products from both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. We would recommend them to anyone and only wished that we lived closer to use them more often!!

We had a great experience with Jared and the rest of his team! They were very gracious with all of the photos we wanted to take and were willing to be adventurous with us! I have been extremely empresses and never let down with J Design Studios! They photographed my Senior Photos and then again my Wedding a few months ago. Jared was really responsive and flexible, and we really enjoyed working with him! We didn't really have a specific plan or idea for engagement or wedding photos, so he really helped us by setting up our engagement photos and scouted out our venue so we had a plan the day of. Everything went smoothly, and we got our photos back very quickly, even considering our wedding was in June. Thank you, Jared!

Jared with J Design Studios is very quick to respond and very helpful in answering my questions. His prices were out of our budget, but after talking with him for a while, we came up with a special package which fit the budget. This was a huge relief! I'm very thankful for his patience as well as his flexibility especially since my fiancee and I are paying for our entire ceremony and reception ourselves. I highly recommend him!!!

We loved working with J. Design Studios. They were very laid back which made the photography sessions so much fun. Their ideas were amazing which led to some awesome photos we love (we love all the pictures). Plus they were willing to work with the ideas we had so we felt like we were more involved than just showing up and having our pictures taken. We are very happy with our choice to have them take our engagement and wedding pictures.

Jared did an amazing job with the photography as well as assisting us with so many other things. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture our day! Jared was easy to work with leading up to the wedding, and did an awesome job on our wedding day. He's flexible, professional and has a great eye! Our pictures turned out beautifully. I definitely recommend him!

Jared from J Design Studios took all of our wedding and engagement photos and we could not be happier! Not only did he act as a photographer but he also helped run the show on the day of. We were able to stay on schedule throughout the day (even with a minor mishap of a missing pocket square...) and Jared really helped to keep the whole event stress-free. We know own the rights to nearly 700 amazing photos and love the fact that we can print them with whoever we want, whenever we want. I would highly recommend J Design Studios!

Jared and JoAnna are truly amazing photographers! They were professional, flexible, and a joy to work with! Jared even braved some blizzard like conditions to give us the snowy engagement shoot we were dreaming of. On the day of the wedding we had some weather issues. The week leading up to the wedding heavy rains flooded the areas we had planned on taking the majority of our pictures. Jared was very flexible and helped us make alternate plans the day prior to the wedding and we were able to get all of the shots we were hoping for. It was a true blessing to know we didn't have to stress over this aspect of the wedding because we were in great hands! We could not have been more pleased with the photos from our wedding and engagement session. They captured the beauty of our special day and we were so happy!! We are certain we will be using J Design to help us capture all of our future life events! We highly recommend J Design to all of our family, friends, and fellow brides!!

Jared and Joanna did such an amazing job on our engagement and wedding photos! From day one they were quick to answer any questions i had, and stayed in contact with me before the big day so i knew what to expect from them. As soon as they arrived they got right to work and captured so many shots that i didnt even know about. It was amazing to look through my pictures when they were ready and be able to see all of the moments that i was not able to see on the wedding day! All of the pictures turned out incredible!! My husband and i couldnt be more happy. If your looking for a great photographer and such a wonderful team, then i highly recommend these guys!!!!

We have received so many compliments on our wedding photography! Not only were the photos beautiful and unique, Jared was always extremely responsive with all kinds of questions I had - he was very open to giving me advice about all kinds of things wedding-related. He and his wife Joanna were so professional and friendly, and were with us all day. We will definitely be recommending to friends and will use them again in the future!

Jared and Joanna are an amazing team of photographers! They are truly creative and go above and beyond to give you beautiful, timeless pictures. They were the only photographers I interviewed with and I am glad I decided to use them.
My fiance and I wanted to do a winter engagement photo shoot and Jared was so gracious in allowing us to have a winter photo shoot. He captured stunning photos and even got my fiance to smile more than once. Our wedding pictures are just so beautiful and they captured moments I wasn't even aware of.
They are very prompt in the communication and delivery of the photos. We received are wedding album 1 month after our wedding!
I can't wait to continue to use them as my family grows.

Jared and JoAnna were INCREDIBLE, I don't even know where to begin! We heard about them through a coworker of mine and knew they were from Springfield, MO (we currently live in Kansas City, MO and were getting married in KC). I e-mailed him about possibly doing our wedding and he replied IMMEDIATELY. They were able to do exactly what we wanted within our budget! They traveled to KC 3 months before our wedding and took our BEAUTIFUL engagement photos and then were here with us ALL DAY on our wedding day. They got right to work when they arrived at my apartment to take photos of us girls getting ready. The were EXTREMELY personable and professional! They also did an incredible job blending in during our ceremony and our reception! I hardly noticed they were there! We got our photos back in LESS THAN A MONTH and relived our perfect day! I would recommend them to anyone needing photographs! They're incredible people with AMAZING talent!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about J Design Studios!! Jared and Joanna are simply amazing! Our pictures literally take our breath away and we love every single one! They captured every detail and emotion throughout our magical day and truly told our story that we will now be able to relive for a lifetime through those incredible pictures. They both went above and beyond.... not only being amazing photographers that made everyone feel relaxed and comfortable, but they also did whatever needed to be done throughout the day to make it run smoothly! From helping with my dress to touching up my hair, they were on it!! They truly care about their clients and strive to help give them the wedding of their dreams. Jared was great! He worked with us on our package, showed up on time, and worked quickly and efficiently. Didn't even notice him moving around and taking pictures during the ceremony, and we got our photos quickly. Will be using them again!

If you want photographers that are fun, easy going, superbly talented, and can work with any group of people, then J. Design Studios is for you! Jared and Joanna were absolutely the perfect photographers to document our most special day. I've never been one to really enjoy having my picture taken, but their style helped my husband and I to feel completely relaxed and comfortable. As a result, we now have dozens upon dozens of incredible images that are truly "us" that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! The whole experience was a blast! If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing...except I would book J. Design Studios before reserving anything else! The photos are THAT good!! I will have to spend the next several months trying to decide which images are my favorites, but that's a wonderful "problem" to have. We will undoubtedly be using Jared and Joanna in the future! :)

My husband and I couldn't be more happy with our decision to use J Design Studios for our wedding photography. What makes J Design so special and unique is the way that they are able to capture such raw and intimate details, emotions, and moments. They really take the time to get to know their clients, and after the wedding was over we felt as if we had formed two new friendships. Okay, let me just tell you that I have worked with a lot of different photographers over the years...until I met these guys. Jared and Joanna are the most amazing photography team I have ever worked with. I love their work so much that as you read this review you might even think they bribed me. That is not however the case. The J Design Studios team has won me over with their work ethic, their fun energy, and especially their one of a kind EPIC photography work! If you want something that everyone else has... these guys are not for you. BUT, if you want truly special, personal, and intimate photos (You know the ones I'm talking about... the ones that recreate feelings when you look at them) then these are your guys for any type of photography work. They are magazine material and yet aren't pretentious about it. They definitely know of their abilities, but they are so down to Earth that it's easy to be yourself around them... and that's exactly what they want..to capture you for you, and the special memories you are making every day.

We loved our photos so much! They were fairly priced. I am a bridal consultant and have admired Jared and Joanna's work for awhile and was so excited when they agreed to shoot my wedding! When planning my wedding I looked for trust worthy people who would stay in contact to ease my mind about something falling through last minute. Jared was quick to get back to me when I had questions and that ment the world to me. My Grandfather got very sick and was hopitalized the day before my wedding, Jared and his wife were very understanding and went with the flow. Together they make a wonderful team and we have the most amazing pictures from our special day. We have continued to use them for our maternity and the first year of our sons life and have been pleased every time. I would highly recommend them to anyone just as they were highly recommended to me.

Working with Jared at J Design Studios was a truly wonderful and stress free experience. I've been to so many weddings were the photographer practically takes over the day and bosses people around.. bride and groom included. Not Jared. He captured all the natural candid moments without being pushy or rude to me, my husband and our family and friends. He let us be us and didn't interfere. 5 Stars for J. Design. We initially decided use J. Design for our wedding, because of the value. Their pictures were simply beautiful and their prices were very competitive. Jared did an a beautiful job with not only our wedding pictures, but also our engagement session. Our families even stated how much they enjoyed having him at the reception. Our wedding pictures were edited and returned very promptly, even though it was the beginning of the crazy-summer-wedding season. My only regret is that we didn't have Jared design our wedding photo book!

J. Design took engagement and wedding pictures for my husband and I. We couldn't be more pleased with them! Jared came out to our family farm and took engagement pictures there for us. He made us feel very comfortable while shooting us. The best thing about the wedding day was that he was with us the whole day. He came to the salon and took pictures of all the girls getting ready, he even went and saw the guys at another location to get their pictures getting ready too. He captured all the special moments at the ceremony and reception and we love every picture. We had so many great pictures; it was so hard to choose ones to print. i would recommend J.Design for any photography event!

My wife and i used J Design Studios for our wedding and engagement pictures this past summer. We had to reschedule our engagment picture session twice due to the possibility of weather. Jared was easy to work with and had no problem rescheduling for us either time. My husband & I could not have dreamed of wedding photographers as talented, professional, and creative as J Design Studios. The most important thing on that day for us was having all the memories captured and in a way the the pictures were unique but timeless. Jared & his wife captured just that. Jared at J Design Studio was the absolutely PERFECT choice for our wedding! He was professional, very helpful, and relaxed--it seems a bit strange to have someone who you barely know be a part of such personal moments in your life, but Jared had such an ease about him that it never felt unusual. In fact, he was actually quite helpful and supportive throughout the day without being at all intrusive. And, he a phenomenal job of capturing each and every moment of our day--big and small! We love ALL of our photos--in fact we are having a terrible time trying to narrow them down for albums, frames, etc! We are so glad we chose J Design and we'll definitely use them again in the future!

I have to add that I was shocked to see a negative review on this site--none of the comments from that review were consistent with my experience at all! I would encourage anyone considering J Design not to base their choice on that review, but rather contact Jared and Joanna and form your own opinion. I'm confident you'll have the same great experience that we did!

My advice for the couple searching for a wedding photographer would be to make sure you are comfortable with the people you are working with and as a couple clearly outline the types of photos you want so you're not disappointed if something isn't snapped. Remember to have fun!

Jared saved our wedding after a last minute cancellation left us without a photographer. Jared was able to slip us in for a quick two hour photo session the morning of our wedding that turned out incredibly well. Jared had great balance of traditional and creative photo ideas and used alot of the surrounding beauty to make truly exceptional wedding photos. Jared also had just a great personality and was very open to our input as well. He immediately put both my wife and I at ease and was very responsive to our wishes while providing great input for each location. Just a great overall experience and the finished products look amazing. I would definitely recommend.

We had a great time having Jared as our photographer in our very intimate wedding. He also acted as our coordinator in his own initiative. He just stepped up and tell us things need to be done next which we really appreciate... He quickly responds to any inquiry. We even forgot to send him our final payment weeks before the event but it was not of a big deal on him, we felt bad about it. So we did not wait for him to ask for it when he showed up :) I would highly recommend him.

Jared was so great to work with and all our pictures turned out great. Grateful to have him there on our wedding day so there was no worry about the pictures!

Not the best experience

We had Jared and Joanna as our wedding photographer a few years ago. The quality was good, but overall had a bad experience. They brought 2 of their kids to our wedding, which totally would not have been an issue, but Joanna was breastfeeding in the bridal suite while we were getting ready rather than taking pictures. My bridesmaids had to go get her to come take specific pictures, and didn’t even know she was the photographer until I pointed her out. The only pictures she took were ones I asked her to come get. Jared did amazing with the groomsmen, and then when he realized she hadn’t done any with the bridesmaids he rushed over and snapped ours really quick. Also, 99% of our ceremony pictures are shot through a candlestick. I can see where they are supposed to be artsy, but we don’t have a single picture of us at the alter without a blurred candle in our face. I also asked if I needed to give him a list of family members we wanted pictures with, and he said “I know the basics, I only need a list is there is some random cousin or something like that.” We didn’t have anything crazy, so I didn’t give him one, and in the end I didn’t get any pictures with my own parents. We weren’t given any direction and I was so overwhelmed. I’m not holding my flowers in any of the family portraits, and have my arms around the people next to me?? I didn’t even realize it at the time, but all of the portraits looks sooo odd and casual. I wish he would have told me to hold my bouquet or arrange where people should stand. It was just very unorganized, we weren’t given any direction, and Joanna basically did nothing.

Unfortunately, our experience with J.Design was very poor. Joanna got lost on the way to our wedding and missed the ceremony. After hearing all the complications she'd had, and considering the short notice in planning, my husband and I made an effort to show our understanding and said we'd still like to at least compensate her for her drive, despite the fact that we have no professional pictures of our wedding day. She thanked us and apologized. However, shortly after, while on the way to our dinner, we received several ridiculing texts from Jared, accusing us of mistreating Joanna, he couldn't believe she had had such a bad day and we'd only given her money for gas - he "hoped we felt good about the way we treated her." Very passive aggressive, inappropriate, unwarranted and harsh. We were very caught off guard by the lack of professionalism on our wedding day. I'm not one to write a negative review but I think this is important to consider on a couple's most special day.

I can not overstate how much my fiance and I regret booking J. Design Studios as our wedding photographer. We booked with him because we thought his price was reasonable, and in spite of the fact that we had heard from other brides that he wasn't very easy to work with and was very quick to be catty and defensive.

Between the negative way he talked about other brides and his refusal to honor our requests (before booking with him we asked if he would be willing to take some more posed, traditional shots in combination with his typical style. He said he would be happy to. He later told us that he couldn't guarantee that, and he wouldn't be willing to modify his style because he is an artist), we found him to be unprofessional and not at all flexible. He was also condescending and rude to us, including writing targeted comments on the pictures he posted of us on Facebook and his Facebook status, before deleting our pictures from that site entirely with no warning. Sadly, the more we speak with clients and vendors who have worked with him recently, the more we hear the same story.

All of the other photographers we have met, along with the other vendors, have been so encouraging, fun, and easygoing; they all really seem to care about customer service and making sure that the finished product not only represents their style and ability but also captures the personality of the couple. I never dreamed that we would find someone in this industry who cared so little about customer satisfaction.
