Amazing Cake

We used Isgro's for our wedding on 5/11/24. The cake was amazing! It was exactly what we had hoped for. The design came out perfectly and we had so many compliments. Not only did it look great, it was one of the best cakes I have ever had! We went with the chocolate chip pound cake and did a small vintage heart cake with a sheet cake for guests. The delivery process was so easy. We would definitely use them again for future cakes!

Beautiful Vintage, Romantic Cake!

Isgro made our cake for our wedding at the Museum of the American Revolution, and it was stunning!! It was perfectly piped with a vintage yet modern look and feel. Was exactly what we wanted! We had multiple guests rave about how delicious the cake was, too - chocolate chip pound cake with buttercream.

Elegant and delicious!

Oh my gosh our cake was incredible!!! Everything at Isgro is delicious, but they went above and beyond for our wedding cake. The tasting was so much fun, and picking our flavor and design was very easy. I also ordered a groom's cake from them as well and the team was very attentive and created something so perfect for my husband. For the wedding, we had 140 guests and a 4-tier cake and it was more than enough! Everyone loved the cake - we did chocolate chip on the inside and a vanilla buttercream frosting. We wanted a simple, elegant design and boy did they deliver. We will absolutely work with them for other significant events!

Haven't had our wedding cake tasting yet, but Isgros bakery will be doing our wedding cake. Heard from our wedding venue that they are the original cake boss! Cant wait to try it.

Such yummy cake and great people

We decided on Isgro after doing tastings at one other bakery. We had attended another wedding with Isgro cake and remembered it being absolutely delicious. Turns out, it wasn’t just the cocktails talking! It also helped that Isgro is less than two blocks away from our house. It truly is a neighborhood bakery, but lives up to its reputation in Philadelphia. The cakes are deliciously moist and flavorful. It was difficult to decide what flavor(s) we wanted to go with. We ended up going with alternating layers of vanilla chocolate chip and raspberry swirl (although lemon was a top contender as well). The wedding cake coordinator at Isgro was easy to work with and clearly knew what she was talking about, giving us recommendations on how much cake we would need given our guest count and other dessert options. They made us feel really special every time we went there, and sent us on our way with complimentary cookies or cannolis. Not only was their cake delicious, but it was also significantly less expensive than the cakes offered at some of the other premium bakeries we had looked into. As an added note, my husband even enjoyed eating the leftover cake on our anniversary after it had been frozen for a year!

Exactly the cake we wanted

Isgro's is a legend in Philadelphia, where my fiance and I both grew up and got married. One of the details that clinched our venue for us was that their package came with an Isgro's cake. We worked with Natalie to set up our tasting, which couldn't have been easier (or more delicious!). When we loved both the chocolate chip and the lemon, they were able to do two layers of each flavor for our cake (and also let us customize the decorations, alternating on each layer). On the day itself, I made sure to make time to sit and eat every bite of my slice. It's a good thing that the top layer is at my parents' house - I'd be sorely tempted to dig it out now rather than wait for our anniversary!

Chocolate Chip Pound - YUM!!!

We didn't have much wiggle room in terms of choosing a bakery as Isgro's Bakery is partnered with our venue, The Sheraton in Valley Forge. I am so pleased that we had to have Isgro's because the cake was Phenomenal!!! We chose the chocolate chip pound cake with the butter cream frosting and everyone LOVED it!! Definitely recommended!!

Delicious!

Isgro's Bakery works in conjunction with Pen Ryn which made it very convenient for us. Not only was it our wedding day but it was my grandfather's birthday and Isgro's was able to make a special cake for him! We chose a chocolate chip cake for our wedding cake and a red velvet cake for the birthday cake. Both were fantastic and beautiful!

Isgro did a great job with our wedding cake! Our initial meeting was easy and quick and we all loved the chocolate chip cake best! On our wedding day the cake arrived at our venue and it was perfect! Everyone said how yummy it tasted. Thanks Isgro for being a delicious addition to our special day!

A cake from Isgro's was included in our wedding package from Pen Ryn Estate in Bensalem. Working with Isgro's to design our cake was very easy, and Tina was very friendly and helpful. The samples were delicious and the cake itself was beautiful and exactly what we asked for (alternating layers of buttercream icing rosettes and buttercream icing dots). We did have to pay a little extra for some things that we selected, but we felt that it was worth it.
Our guests said the cake was delicious, but we only got to try the small piece when we cut the cake during the reception. It seems that it was so good that people took extra when they left, which I guess was a good thing. Overall, we were very happy to have our cake from Isgro's.

From our consultation to seeing our wedding cake in person, I could not be more pleased!! The cake was everything we had envisioned and more. The incorporation of the Eiffel Tower into our cake with our wedding color was amazing. I would definitely recommend this bakery.

Isgro Pastries was part of our package with our venue. I was excited to work with them as they have a great Philly presence. I scheduled the appointment more than 6 months in advanced, and while other bakeries cancelled on me, when I followed-up with Isgro, it was not a problem. We chose a Saturday at noon to do the tasting - I recommend doing something earlier in the day when parking isn’t an issue. It wasn’t too bad for us, but parking in Philly is hard to begin with. When we showed up, Tina took us to the back of the bakery in a little kitchen with a dining room table. She got to know us and our wedding, then proceeded with the tasting. As it was with our venue, we had limited options, but we could pay to upgrade certain things. Each cake was delicious, but we went with a simple marble cake as both me and my husband enjoyed it. Tina sketched out our cake and gave us a copy. Tina provided us with her phone number and email, should we need it, but we never did. I made no additional contact with them, and when I walked into our reception, I was amazed at how beautiful the cake was! It was everything we wanted, and Tina’s design was true to the execution. They were a great and easy-going vendor, and it was so satisfying to be able to set up the one appointment with them and know it was all handled.

My wedding cake was included in my wedding package with my venue and I would not have it any other way! Tina (at the bakery) was fun and easy to work with and made sure that we got a beautiful cake without spending a penny more than way already included. I didn't have a specific idea for the cake decorations, but I left some flowers with them and the decorator did a beautiful job! Even if they weren't included, I would highly recommend using them.

Isgro's Bakery is the best! We had a couple bakeries included in our wedding package, so we decided to have a tasting at Isgro's. We met with Tina, tasted cakes, expressed our vision, and we automatically knew we wanted to use them to make our dream wedding cake. Working with Tina was great, she was very professional, and she really went above and beyond to make our experience perfect! Our cake was so beautiful, everything we expected, and MORE! We did 2 flavors, Raspberry & Chocolate Chip. It was so moist and flavorful! We had so many great compliments! We really can't wait for our 1 year anniversary to have more! Our cake was delicious and beautiful. Our 4 tier cake from isgro's was included in our wedding package. I had no idea what I wanted the cake to look like. My husband to the decorative lead and it was gorgeous. I even recently ate a piece that had been frozen and it was still moist and delicious. Make sure you schedule the tasting months in advance because it takes a while to get it.

the cake we got from isgros was amazing. they helped us with our vision and the tasting was really fun, we went in the back room with coffees and ate cakes for breakfast. when we were there they even showed us some of the behind the scenes of the bakery and some cakes they were delivering that day. we got so many raves about our cake that we couldn't even save the top layer we ate it three days later! we will be coming back for a special 1 year anniversary cake from isgros and we cant wait.

Woowwww! Customer service worth writing about. I was very upset after realizing the cake vendor I originally chose was unable to complete the cake I asked for. We have 2 chances and drive from MD to DE both times! I ended up firing the cake boss. So at the VERY last minute (1.5 weeks before the wedding) I had to find a replacement. The Waterfall suggested Isgro and we took off work to travel for the meet. The Waterfall was right about this family owned business- tasty and affordable.

She worked in my tight budget to provide a cake that was pretty, tasty, had assorted flavors, and was on time! I came in with a vision that would add about $300 to my price. She looked at me like a crazy person and suggested I spend that money on shoes or another wedding element I'd like.

Although it was the furthest bakery on my list from the Waterfall it was the best.

Isgro's works with my venue; I never heard of them before - but apparently they are quite popular! Me and the fiance went for the cake tasting over the weekend - cake was GREAT. We are doing choc. chip and plain pound cake. I am keeping the design of the cake simple because I made a busy-looking cake topper. Tina was wonderful! She had great suggestions to tie the cake design in with the topper. I will update my review after the wedding, but so far they are a pleasure to work with.

Post-wedding update: The cake was PERFECT - it was absolutely beautiful and soooo tasty - all of the guests loved it!

I can’t even express how amazing Isgro’s Bakery is. First and foremost, Tina was SUCH a pleasure to work with. She reached out and was so sweet and really made the process fun. I explained that neither one of us were going to come in for a tasting and felt extremely confident allowing her to do what she does best. She went over the options, flavors and design. We created a custom cake with beautiful scroll on each tier and ribbon in gray and navy. We decided on alternating layers of chocolate chip and raspberry swirl, which was absolutely delicious. Not only was the cake BEAUTIFUL, but it was one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. They take such pride in their work and their reputation speaks for itself. Tina was hands down one of the BEST vendors we worked with and truly made the process painless. I wasn’t nervous for one moment doing everything over the phone and never going in for a consultation or tasting. Tina really delivered and hit it out of the park. We are excited to order a small cake for our anniversary. We can’t thank Tina and Isgro’s enough for being part of our special day and truly delivery and phenomenal product. We recommend anyone looking for an amazing wedding cake to look no further. Isgro’s rocks and Tina is absolutely AMAZING to work with.

A wedding cake from Isgro's was included in our wedding package. I give Isgro's my highest recommendation. Our wedding cake turned out so beautifully, and Tina at Isgro's was incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout the process. I was extremely busy prior to my wedding and Tina really helped me to finalize the details and the final product was delicious to eat and gorgeous to look at.

The cake from Isgro's was included as part of our wedding package at Pen Ryn Mansion. Even if it wasn't, this would definitely be the place we would go for a wedding cake. We worked with Tina who was amazing. The process of tasting our cakes and deciding on design was a breeze. The cake was absolutely delicious and looked gorgeous! It was so good, that after the wedding I ordered my husband's birthday cake from there. Highly recommend!

Isgro’s was the preferred baker for our wedding venue and I am so happy that they were. It made it so much easier that our cake was included with our wedding package and I didn’t have to worry about finding a baker on my own. I wanted a simple, but delicious cake and they gave me just that. When I went for my tasting, they only had a few options (all pound cake), but it was still so hard to choose because everything was so good! We decided to go with the vanilla pound cake with chocolate chips and a vanilla buttercream frosting and it was amazing! I got so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful and delicious our cake was.

A cake from Isgro's was included in our wedding package and I was so delighted to work with them! We couldn't do a cake tasting, since I was planning from the West Coast, but Tina was great at talking me through the choices. Isgro's was flexible and accommodating to my design and flavor requests. They executed the the cake flawlessly and I was so pleased with how the cake looked. Last but not least, it was delicious!! We had two flavors: chocolate and raspberry pound. Both flavors were moist and not overly sweet. The buttercream was light and complemented each flavor beautifully. My husband and I (and our guests) thoroughly enjoyed dessert! Isgro's Bakery is a great bakery to work with for a wedding cake!

An Isgros cake came with our venue package. It was absolutely delicious and just what we wanted. You will go to South Philly to have a meeting with them to taste all the flavors and pick your design/colors. We actually had the florist decorate our cake in the end, and it looked very elegant. We picked chocolate chip and raspberry pound cake, the other flavors are plain and lemon. This is a famous bakery with excellent cakes!

Our venue worked direct through Isgro's. Book your tasting farther out than you think you should-they book up quick! It was very hard for us to pick which flavors we wanted but ended up going with the marble pound cake and buttercream and our guests loved it. Our cake was very simple but absolutely beautiful and delicious. They were very easy to work with. Can't wait to eat the top on our 1st anniversary!

Tina!! the absolute best. Absolutely accommodating, met with my wife and I as well as our parents and we all got a taste of their amazing cakes. She takes the time to work with you on what you want, show you pictures of how it will look and what you actually need to make your cake work without overselling. People always say they don't remember the cake, our guests are still raving about it.

We had a four tier cake from Isgro Bakery for our August 8, 2015 wedding and loved it. Our guest have raved about the great tasting cake, the lovely appearance and cake detail. From our initial tasting at the bakery and designing of the cake, we felt like our desires were heard. Seeing the cake on the wedding day, gave us joy as it was lovely & exactly what we wanted. Looking forward to next year's anniversary when we can eat the top layer. :)

Tina was so wonderful to work with and very accommodating! When I met Tina, I had just been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I had called my venue to see if there was any way I could have my cake tasting done before I started chemo as I was told that I would lose my ability to taste from the medication. Tina was able to get me in two days later, 10 months before our actual wedding day. She went over and beyond to help us and that, alone, equals 5 starts to me but I cannot write a review and not write about the CAKE! Our wedding cake was out of this world! We're lucky that they put two slices aside for us because there wasn't a single piece left by the end of the night. Everyone was raving about how delicious it was. It was THE best wedding cake I have ever had, hands down! I also recommend trying everything else the bakery has to offer; they are phenomenal!

My husband and I are so pleased with Isgro's Bakery! The cake was included with our wedding package with Belle Voir Manor in Bensalem, PA. Tina was so sweet to work with and she responded promptly via email when needed. My brother who usually doesn't care for wedding cake, ate a few slices! The raspberry pound cake is a must for a summer wedding! Although I only got to sample a few bites, the cake was very moist and the design was exactly how we wanted. Thank you for provided us with a delicious, beautiful cake!

Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect! I was able to stay in my budget and still have my dream cake. We used 2 different flavors of pound cake, Raspberry Marble and Butter. It was absolutely delicious even when we had a little left over (not talking about the anniversary tier) 2 weeks later when we returned from our honeymoon! It was completely in white, with alternating tiers of buttercream frosting formed to look like rosettes and draping pearls. friends of my guests even raved about it when my friends posted the pictures online. This cake was a part of our wedding package at Pen Ryn Estate.

Our wedding cake was AMAZING! It looked just as we envisioned and tasted even better! Our guests have since told us it was the best wedding cake they've had. We chose to do alternating layers of chocolate chip and raspberry swirl... highly recommended! You should definitely take the time to taste the cakes prior to your wedding and discuss design options. Tina was a great help and the staff very friendly!

Isgros was one of the bakeries we were able to get our wedding cake from through our venue (the mansion). Isgros also happens to be one of the best bakeries in south philly, so we definitely lucked out! We had a nice elegent design, and working with igros was easy! we went for our tasting, picked our design and they handled everything from there directly with the venue. Everyone complimented the cake for the look of it and the taste! We didn't eat cake that day, but definitely had multuple cakes from isgros in the past and they are amazing :)

Truthfully, we used Isgro's for our wedding cake because they were the vendor associated with our venue and the cake came with our package. We were so relieved that we didn't need to shop around for yet another vendor in another category. Besides, how different could wedding cakes be?

OMG! I have never had a more delicious wedding pound cake in my life! We even got compliments from our guests about how moist and tasty the cake was. Many of them even commented about how they hardly ever see traditional pound cake anymore, but when they do, it's usually dry and flavorless. Not this cake! This cake was incredible!

Not only did it taste heavenly, but it also looked gorgeous! It matched our theme and style perfectly. They have so many different styles and designs to choose from, though, that we really couldn't go wrong. Tina, their wedding specialist, was absolutely the best! She was so down-to-earth and accommodating. She made suggestions regarding the different tiers of our cake that we would have never thought of. We ended up getting a completely differently flavored top tier just for us - I can't wait for our first anniversary to eat it!

As if the wedding cake wasn't enough, we decided to have extra desserts for a grand dessert display. Tina ran with the idea and worked directly with our venue's head chef to make sure everything was seamless. Our guests were wowed with the selection! Every cake and pie was positively scrumptious! We also provided boxes for our guests to take some desserts home - not one crumb was left behind! Did I mention their prices are reasonable, too?

We are lucky that Isgro's is right in our hometown. I will never buy another pastry, cake or pie anywhere else!

A Philadelphia tradition, Isgros, has some of the most amazing pastries and desserts. So when this bakery was bundled with my venue, I was very excited for my wedding cake. The staff and especially Tina made my cake exactly how I had envisioned it. They were able to add ribbon and leaf accents and create a work of art. It was very tastefully done and was not over the top. The cake was moist and delicious and I can't wait to eat the rest of it.

We met with Tina, she was extremely helpful and our cake was wonderful. We were very pleased with the taste and look of our cake. Tina went out of her way to help us, she was aware of a problem that we had with our venue, and she was fantastic in making the selection of our cake flavors and decorations a very pleasant experience. From the tasting to the day-of, Isgro's was wonderful to work with. Tina was thoughtful and creative in working with us to design the cake that we wanted for our travel themed wedding. She made sure to communicate with us through email and by phone if necessary. The add-on costs were reasonable. Of course, the cake was delicious, too! We were extremely happy with everything.

The cake came as part of our wedding package. It was absolutely delicious, not to mention the presentation was beautiful. Everyone raved about the taste, each layer was different. They did exactly what we asked and accommodated us during the tasting. You can smell the bakery a block away. Everything was so delicious, and just like a mom and pops place. My mother was absolutely thrilled when we found out that my venue gets their cakes from Isgro's, and now I know why! Not only was our cake totally gorgeous and delicious (SERIOUSLY, delicious!), they were a pleasure to work with. Isgro's Bakery was an ideal choice for our wedding cake! After a generous sampling, we decided to have a three-layer cake with chocolate chip on the top and bottom layer and a raspberry marble middle layer. Our guests told us how much they loved the cake! Let me tell you, even if my venue didn't have a contract with ISRO, I would still have had the cake made by them! My husband and I booked our wedding cake through our venue and Igor’s was one of their preferred vendors. We worked with Sue and she was a pleasure! She shared her ideas and experiences with us and provided constructive feedback when asked. Since I already knew what cake design I wanted, it made my consultation so much easier. We had a 5 tier cake with different flavors and butter cream icing. The cake image I provided was in fondant, which was way out of my price range (since my cake was included with my venue package), well you could never tell with the butter cream icing. The recreation was done perfectly. The cake was moist and the icing was rich; it literally melted in your mouth! All of our guests raved about the cake!!!!!

Wonderful cake! We had a raspberry swirl with confectioners icing... it was delicious. Our guests loved the cake! Very flavorful and moist. We had many compliments. We also did plates of mini desserts and petit fours. They were so adorable and delicious! One of our friends enjoyed them so much that she called the wedding venue the following day to find our where the desserts were from.

Highly recommend this bakery for your wedding dessert needs or just a great spot for a delicious treat.

Very friendly during our cake-testing and every cake we tried was outstanding. I am not a cake person by any means, but all these cake samples were moist, fluffy & delicious with a great variety of selections.
They made the cake look gorgeous on the wedding day & it was just as delicious as the samples were.

Our wedding cake was included in our package at The Merion in Cinnaminson. The cake was provided by Isgro's Bakery in Philadelphia. I had a tasting at The Merion and was not too impressed with the cake so I decided to schedule a tasting at Isgro's. I would recommend this to anyone planning a wedding at The Merion. Isgro's has more flavors to try. My parents and I had the tasting at Isgro's. The cake was super moist and delicious. I had a hard time choosing which flavors I wanted. Isgro's will allow you to choose more than one flavor. They also have a variety of designs. Isgro's does not do over the top wedding cakes. That is fine with me because I thought cake quality was much more important.

I gave Sue a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like but I had specific wants for the colors...it turned out perfectly! They were able to replica the picture, and it was yummier than what we had at the tasting. Our guests still talk about how delicious our wedding cake was!

Isgro's was the bakery that my reception venue is contracted with, so I did not have a choice but to use them. However, the cake was delicious and still is about 3 weeks later. We got a chocolate chip and raspberry swirl pound cake. I can't wait to eat the top layer on our one-year anniversary.

Isgro is a fabulous Italian bakery in Philadelphia. Being that they have been in business for decades, I decided to have them provide my cake. I was thrilled at the way it came out. Both in appearance and taste it was exceptional. I think it may have been my most favorite part of the day!

Isgros was wonderful! Our tasting was so much fun, and they were so flexible and easygoing. And during and after the wedding, we did not stop hearing raves from all of our guests: our cake was DELICIOUS, beautiful, and exactly what we wanted!

Isgro's Cake came with our venue package - which was great because they're a famous local bakery. It was also great because they knew exactly what they were doing. We had a basic cake but it was gorgeous. They were professional and super easy to work with. It didn't hurt that the cake was delicious too!

Delicious Cake

We chose Isgro Pastries to do our wedding cake for our August 31, 2019 wedding at the Merion. With the Merion, you get a choice of 3 different cake bakers included in the package. We did do tastings and got quotes at all three. Isgro was definitely the best of them in terms of taste. They were middle grounds in terms of cost (you had to pay extra for certain designs, different flavors of cake on different layers, etc). However, all bakeries charge extra for different things. Honestly, the only thing I am upset about (and the reason I didn't give them a perfect score) is that they messed up the design of our cake. I wouldn't be as upset if I didn't verify the design with them the week prior to the wedding. The cake ended up being beautiful, it just wasn't how I was picturing it. The cake also tasted amazing, per my guests. Unfortunately, we never got to eat the lemon cake (which was one of the deciding factors on choosing them - trust me, it is AMAZING!). We worked with both Tina and Natalie, and both were a pleasure to work with. We ended up choosing marble, raspberry, lemon and chocolate cake.

I personally never hear people rave about cakes at a wedding but I couldn't believe how many people raved about how amazing our cake tasted and how beautiful it looked on display. Isgro had a great cake tasting set up and for a very small cost allowed us to pick two flavors (my husband and I can never agree on deserts). With the help of the team I was able to design a cake that matched our theme perfectly. This bakery knows what they're doing!

Tina was amazing. The wedding cake was the one area where I had no idea what I wanted. She sat with us and drew up a cake that was even more beautiful in person. She took our budget into account and let us know where to get some of the decorations to save on cost. The cake was delicious too!

Isgro made our very cute cake! Thou it was nothing like the picture we showed them. (Since we opt out the founant to avoid the couple hundred dollars extra costs to just butter cream... but it was simple and cute! It was exactly as we discussed it during our meeting.

Ms. Sue was the one helping us and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed working with Isgro very much.

Our cake was part of our wedding package at Valleybrook but we paid a little extra for another tier. The cake is by far the best wedding cake I have ever tasted. We chose plain and chocolate chip for our layers. The cake was so fresh and delicious that there was barely any left. Maria was very helpful in helping us design our cake and gave us great ideas and pointers. Overall, I was very happy with our cake. It looked one-of-a-kind.
