We had our wedding October 12, 2024, roughly around the time the Line Fire was slowly gaining 100% containment. We were super worried about the possibility of canceling, but Jeff (the owner of the venue) put us at ease with consistent updates. From the constant communication and flexibility of being able to visit the site a few times, we would not have chosen any other site than this. If you want an outdoor wedding in Big Bear… look no further! From the fresh air, trees, lighting, temperature… Everything about this venue is an outdoorsy couple’s dream! (So yes, make sure your guests dress for dirt and wood chips) Even if guests aren’t too outdoorsy, they will be satisfied to know that there is still a cabin with flushable toilets, and space heaters that Jeff offers to rent with the venue if need be. This is an unforgettable venue and we’ll forever hold this sweet little spot in Big Bear near and dear to our hearts. 1000000% recommend this venue as your mountain/outdoor wedding for any season. -

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience at our wedding venue, Into the Woods! Jeff and Tere were absolutely amazing—extremely helpful, accommodating, and genuinely kind. They made the entire process feel smooth and personal. They’re incredibly reasonable and truly care about making sure it’s your special day.
The venue itself is stunning - hands down the most beautiful setting we could have imagined. From the moment we saw it, we knew it was the perfect place for us. We’re so grateful for everything Jeff and Tere did to make our day unforgettable. Highly recommend! -

Lord of the rings vibes ❤️
Words cannot describe how wonderful our wedding day was. Jeff and Tere are gracious host and the venue is so so so beautiful!
A few things that I really loved! If you have kids coming to your wedding, don’t even worry about them being bored. That was my main concern since I have a younger brother and lots of kids coming. But watching my youngest brother play with all his cousins was such a treat. The kids kept themselves entertained in nature and the adults very much had a relaxing time. Nothing made me happier!
Beautiful spot to take your photos for the day of the wedding. My husband and I are in love with being in nature. The smell of the woods, fresh air and the beautiful night sky once it was dark made it all very ‘lord of the rings’ vibe for us. If you can’t tell by the title, my husband and I are huge LOTR fans. So in love with our photos and how they came out! So they have a lot of spots to take the perfect photos, a cute chimney that gives a rustic vibe and the golden hour is to die for!
Another thing is Jeff and Tere are the best communicators and because of that, it made everything so much easier and smooth. I’m a bit of a stress ball sometimes and them being able to always answer any questions I had and getting to me quickly was something I do greatly appreciated! The day of the wedding, literally no stress because I knew exactly what was happening and everything that was communicated to me, was done. I only felt so excited to be marrying my best friend that I kept bouncing on my feet hahah. (Literally video evidence of it when I was at the alter)
The vendors that they hand pick are top tier! Made it so much easier for us to find the vendors we needed. And Jeff is fantastic at helping you pull the vision together of where all the vendors can set up. They are really involved to help make our vision come true. It made our wedding so magical and I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism, kindness and patience for helping make this wedding go as smoothly as it did.
Overall, 5 out of 5 stars! The most beautiful venue, with the coolest name. You can’t go wrong with ‘Into the Woods’, big bear really is a magical place. -

Big Bear has been a special place in my fiance's family for generations. It began with his father going every summer as a child, and it being the meeting ground for family vacations. Our parents met for the first time at Maggio's, we went on our first camping trip together at Hanna Flat, and we unofficially dedicated a tree in my fiance's grandmother's honor. Getting married in Big Bear was really important to us, however we knew we wanted to be somewhere that was more intimate and surrounded by nature.
We found Into The Woods with a quick Google Search and instantly were drawn to it's beauty. We decided to visit the venue, even though it was covered in snow. This was the first venue we toured, and there was just something magical about it. Then we met Jeff.
Jeff is an amazing person, both professionally and personally. We talked with him at length about our wedding, but also about life in general. Jeff is someone who you can trust to be there for you throughout the planning process, and the wedding day itself. The day of our wedding, Jeff helped ensure vendors knew where to go, and he helped with parking and other needs that came up throughout the night, so as a bride, I didn't have to. My wedding party, specifically my maids of honor, really appreciated how much he was willing to help out with.
Into The Woods has a vendor list curated by Jeff after discovering the best vendors that serve the area. Us not knowing anything about wedding planning and not having a planner found this incredibly helpful. Our photographer ended up being someone who captured our love in style we wanted. Our dream of serving tacos at our wedding happened seamlessly as World Famous Tacos is one of the vendors. Our tables and chairs were beautiful. The bartenders were absolutely out of this world -- our guests couldn't get over how delicious they were. Getting to have our cake from a local bakery we go to each time we visit (SisterMySister) was the icing on the cake (; Overall, his vendor list made it easy for us to book who we needed to, and it was easy to trust them as we knew Jeff would only steer us in the right direction.
As a bride who had a vision for her wedding, Into The Woods made it easy to achieve that vision. It is a blank canvas, which is something I really valued. I wanted to embrace our surroundings as our backdrop, and that's exactly what we did! Our wedding was "camp" themed, and everyone truly embraced being outside together the entire evening. When the fairy lights turned on, it created such a magical area to dance with our loved ones. The bathroom onsite is perfect for guests of all ages, and the bridal cabin was large enough for my bridal party of 9, myself, and my mom to get ready.
Jeff, if you are reading this, thank you for helping our day be so magical. We adore you, and we cannot wait for anniversaries to come so we can visit again soon. We will always keep in touch. -

Into the Woods is thee best venue. From the moment we did our walk through I knew we were going to book and I am so glad we did! Tere and Jeff welcomed us and made us feel like we were meant to be married there. If you dream of a woodsy outdoor wedding this is the place. On our wedding day Jeff was there to support and make sure the day went as we had hoped. Definitely recommend and will hopefully renew our vows in 5 years here ❤️ -

First of all, Jeff and Tere are the absolute best! Jeff gave me a list of affordable and reliable vendors to aid with our special day and each vendor was attentive and easy to reach. I cannot stress enough how Jeff's list of vendors made it so simple to plan the wedding! The venue itself was breath-taking. I was told by many of our guests how magical the day was and how they loved the scenery. We had an October wedding and the weather was perfect! It was sunny but cool. If you are looking for a unique forest wedding, Into the Woods is the place for you :) -

Perfect venue, Jeff and Tere are incredible people; this place is simply magical. We loved getting married here! Everything about our day was perfect, and a lot of credit goes to Jeff and Tere for having an amazing list of vendors as well as a perfect and beautiful forest venue. In the woods is such a beautiful venue I’m so happy we went with them, Jeff and his wife were amazing even though this was one of their first November weddings with snow. From the very first moments we stepped foot onto this venue, there was an immediate love and we BOTH knew this was exactly where we were going to have our perfect wedding! From the twinkle lights to the enchanted forest feel outside and truly everything in between; this venue was beautiful, sentimental, family friendly, and honestly everything a future husband and wife would ever want on their big day! Into the Woods saved our wedding day, point blank and simple, and it was better than we could have ever even imagined. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to change wedding venues in Big Bear about three months before our date. We had remembered seeing Into the Woods on Instagram and gave the venue a call, hoping they would be able to accommodate. Jeff went above and beyond in accommodating our wedding and turned something that was not our original vision into something even better than we could have imagined. Our wedding day was perfect because of Into the Woods. Let's start with the actual venue. It sits in a gorgeous parcel of forest with mountain vistas and tall pines that smell simply lovely and offer great shade throughout the day. The layout of the venue allowed for our guest to explore and mingle in different sections and areas, which help to make it feel even more laid back, which is something we wanted with this wedding. And the pictures...simple stunning with the landscape of the venue. We got married in peak summer and while the ceremony was a bit sunny and warm, it was nothing some hand fans could not help to solve. The reception followed directly after and because of the positioning of it with trees in the West, it was fairly shaded the entire afternoon and the perfect temperature. Everyone commented on how beautiful the space was. The natural beauty of the venue makes it where you don't need to spend a fortunate on decor because you are LITERALLY in the forest. The restrooms were incredibly clean and a great touch that our guests appreciated.
Now let's talk Jeff...he is truly an exemplar human being. Very thoughtful, informative, and responsive throughout the process. He thoroughly answered any and all questions we had and on the day of, he was super attentive to the needs of us and our guests, including restocking restrooms and ensuring their cleanliness to managing the parking to making small talk with them about the property. He is a true ally for LGBTQ+ people and is sensitive to any needs with that. We felt so incredibly welcomed and safe in his space and company. If we could recommend this venue a million times over, we would, so if you're looking for an inclusive, in the woods wedding venue, look no further than Into the Woods. -

The property is beautiful. It’s an open field of forest with tall trees. The owner Jeff is very polite and respectful. He goes out of his way to help out with anything that’s needed. We had a vision and Jeff helped us make it happen. We highly recommend Into the Woods for a venue. We did have to hire vendors as it’s not a “package deal” venue. But Jeff does the work and has a list of recommendations for you. Such as food , bartenders, flowers, desserts, and even rentals. Our wedding day was perfect, once again I cannot stress this enough, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Into the Woods. -

Jeff and Tere we’re so kind and made it easy to choose Into the Woods. We always dreamed of having our wedding surrounded by nature and this was the perfect place. If you're looking for a mountain venue in California, this is it!!!! The owner, Jeff, and his family own a 15ish acre property in the woods and it is BEAUTIFUL. They have leveled out a couple spaces to use for the ceremony and reception which is perfect. It's all surrounded by trees which creates the perfect backdrop. We had a 20ish person wedding this weekend and it turned out so perfect. Jeff was so accommodating to all of our needs and great with communication. Could not recommend Into The Woods more!!!!! -

My Fiancé and I have had to postpone our wedding twice and change locations times because of COVID. We called Jeff at Into The Woods a week and a before we our wedding date and explained to him that our venue had canceled on us. He was so understanding and has been working closely with my fiancé and I to make sure our day is just as special as any other couple. We are so grateful for Jeff and his wife Theresa. We cannot wait to celebrate our long awaited wedding at their property. It is so beautiful! -

We had our wedding last weekend and it was absolutely our dream come true. Jeff has been so wonderful to work with! He answered all our questions, made sure everything was perfect, and on top of that is just a genuinely nice person. We wanted a wedding where we felt like we were immersed in the natural beauty of the forest but still have the conveniences of a proper venue and it exceeded every expectation we had. We couldn’t have chosen a spot more perfect for us and we will cherish the memory of this beautiful space in the woods forever. -
