  Dream come true!

  We had our wedding last weekend and it was absolutely our dream come true. Jeff has been so wonderful to work with! He answered all our questions, made sure everything was perfect, and on top of that is just a genuinely nice person. We wanted a wedding where we felt like we were immersed in the natural beauty of the forest but still have the conveniences of a proper venue and it exceeded every expectation we had. We couldn’t have chosen a spot more perfect for us and we will cherish the memory of this beautiful space in the woods forever.

  Breath-taking location!

  First of all, Jeff and Tere are the absolute best! Jeff gave me a list of affordable and reliable vendors to aid with our special day and each vendor was attentive and easy to reach. I cannot stress enough how Jeff's list of vendors made it so simple to plan the wedding! The venue itself was breath-taking. I was told by many of our guests how magical the day was and how they loved the scenery. We had an October wedding and the weather was perfect! It was sunny but cool. If you are looking for a unique forest wedding, Into the Woods is the place for you :)

  A magical experience ✨️

  Into the Woods is thee best venue. From the moment we did our walk through I knew we were going to book and I am so glad we did! Tere and Jeff welcomed us and made us feel like we were meant to be married there. If you dream of a woodsy outdoor wedding this is the place. On our wedding day Jeff was there to support and make sure the day went as we had hoped. Definitely recommend and will hopefully renew our vows in 5 years here ❤️

  Magical Venue

  Perfect venue, Jeff and Tere are incredible people; this place is simply magical. We loved getting married here!   Amazing venue

  I had a micro wedding at into the woods & was blown away by Jeff's help. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had & even picked up our cake & flowers on the day of. They truly care about the couples who wed on their property & go the extra mile. I loved that we got to pick between two ceremony sites & that they recommended spots on the property to take pictures. While I did not get to experience a full wedding on the property I have no doubts it would be amazing.

  November wedding

  In the woods is such a beautiful venue I’m so happy we went with them, Jeff and his wife were amazing even though this was one of their first November weddings with snow. They were great and communicating with them was fast and easy. Over all I’m extremely happy with having our winter wedding with them.

  Beautiful open forest property

  The property is beautiful. It’s an open field of forest with tall trees. The owner Jeff is very polite and respectful. He goes out of his way to help out with anything that’s needed. We had a vision and Jeff helped us make it happen. We highly recommend Into the Woods for a venue. We did have to hire vendors as it’s not a “package deal” venue. But Jeff does the work and has a list of recommendations for you. Such as food , bartenders, flowers, desserts, and even rentals. Our wedding day was perfect, once again I cannot stress this enough, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Into the Woods.

  A Gorgeous Natural Venue With the Kindest Host

  Into the Woods saved our wedding day, point blank and simple, and it was better than we could have ever even imagined. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to change wedding venues in Big Bear about three months before our date. We had remembered seeing Into the Woods on Instagram and gave the venue a call, hoping they would be able to accommodate. Jeff went above and beyond in accommodating our wedding and turned something that was not our original vision into something even better than we could have imagined. Our wedding day was perfect because of Into the Woods. Let's start with the actual venue. It sits in a gorgeous parcel of forest with mountain vistas and tall pines that smell simply lovely and offer great shade throughout the day. The layout of the venue allowed for our guest to explore and mingle in different sections and areas, which help to make it feel even more laid back, which is something we wanted with this wedding. And the pictures...simple stunning with the landscape of the venue. We got married in peak summer and while the ceremony was a bit sunny and warm, it was nothing some hand fans could not help to solve. The reception followed directly after and because of the positioning of it with trees in the West, it was fairly shaded the entire afternoon and the perfect temperature. Everyone commented on how beautiful the space was. The natural beauty of the venue makes it where you don't need to spend a fortunate on decor because you are LITERALLY in the forest. The restrooms were incredibly clean and a great touch that our guests appreciated.
  Now let's talk Jeff...he is truly an exemplar human being. Very thoughtful, informative, and responsive throughout the process. He thoroughly answered any and all questions we had and on the day of, he was super attentive to the needs of us and our guests, including restocking restrooms and ensuring their cleanliness to managing the parking to making small talk with them about the property. He is a true ally for LGBTQ+ people and is sensitive to any needs with that. We felt so incredibly welcomed and safe in his space and company. If we could recommend this venue a million times over, we would, so if you're looking for an inclusive, in the woods wedding venue, look no further than Into the Woods.

  Wedding of our dreams

  Jeff and Tere we’re so kind and made it easy to choose Into the Woods. We always dreamed of having our wedding surrounded by nature and this was the perfect place. Jeff was super helpful throughout the whole planning process and was quick to answer any questions. We are so thankful to have found the perfect place to host the wedding of our dreams.

  Great Venue

  My son held his wedding ceremony at Into The Woods this past weekend. It was wonderful. Jeff is very easy to work with and very flexible. The surroundings are beautiful. If you are looking for an outdoor venue and want to work with a nice, professional person than Jeff and Into The Woods is the place. I highly recommend.

  Best experience

  My Fiancé and I have had to postpone our wedding twice and change locations times because of COVID. We called Jeff at Into The Woods a week and a before we our wedding date and explained to him that our venue had canceled on us. He was so understanding and has been working closely with my fiancé and I to make sure our day is just as special as any other couple. We are so grateful for Jeff and his wife Theresa. We cannot wait to celebrate our long awaited wedding at their property. It is so beautiful!

  Best socal mountain venue

  If you're looking for a mountain venue in California, this is it!!!! The owner, Jeff, and his family own a 15ish acre property in the woods and it is BEAUTIFUL. They have leveled out a couple spaces to use for the ceremony and reception which is perfect. It's all surrounded by trees which creates the perfect backdrop. We had a 20ish person wedding this weekend and it turned out so perfect. Jeff was so accommodating to all of our needs and great with communication. Could not recommend Into The Woods more!!!!!

  Beautiful Venue, Difficult to Plan with

  We had an absolutely beautiful wedding day and had a wonderful event. There are just a few things that were incredibly disappointing while working with the venue and Jeff. We booked our date in August 2022 for June 2023. When we went to the venue we immediately loved it! It was the absolute perfect setting. Jeff worked out a plan with us because we wanted to do the elopement package because we would have less than 30 guests, but still wanted to include traditional wedding events. We agreed to number of people, tables, dance floor, and we paid for an extra hour to host a reception. We specifically asked if we could arrive early as we would do the decorating ourselves. He showed us the cabin where I could get ready and a small cabin up the hill where my husband could get ready. Jeff agreed to all of this and we paid our deposit. The next months were difficult working with Jeff. He did not reply to emails or texts we sent, to help iron out details. He often went months without responding to questions and I had to resend emails and messages. I understand we were having a smaller event, but we still needed info so that we could plan accordingly. Jeff did not confirm the dance floor or tables until 1 month before our wedding day!!! I had no idea how we would seat our guests or the space we were working with. When he did answer, he often did not know specifics or have arrangements figured out. A venue not answering questions or knowing information is incredibly stressful when trying to plan a wedding. Jeff confirmed there would be a dance floor, but a month out he did not know where it would be coming from or how much it would cost. We had to call and confirm with the rental company ourselves, which we happily would have done if we knew sooner that we needed to, but Jeff said he would take care of the arrangement. 1 week before the wedding Jeff told us he will not be able to pick up our cake and bouquet, which he said he would do many times. This all would have been fine had Jeff brought this up sooner. We had to scramble to make things work less than 1 month before our wedding. When we arrived day of, Jeff was surprised we needed a power source for our DJ (something we confirmed with Jeff months ago). He brought up several times during the wedding day that our guests need to leave by a certain time. He made my husband get ready in the bathrooms, instead of the cabin he originally offered us. Jeff seemed unhappy we needed to arrive early, granted we did not pay to arrive 2 hours early, but we booked 5 hours, which we paid for and wanted to use for our event. If Jeff needed extra money for us to arrive early to decorate, we would have paid that, but that had not been a discussion- we asked about arriving early the same day we put our deposit down. Overall, the venue setting and our wedding was wonderful. We had an amazing day! But Jeff treated us as if our day was not as important, possibly because other couples spent more money on bigger weddings. He offered us a specific package, which we paid more on top of, but treated our day like it was not important.

  We had an absolutely beautiful wedding day and had a wonderful event. There are just a few things that were incredibly disappointing while working with the venue and Jeff. We booked our date in August 2022 for June 2023. When we went to the venue we immediately loved it! It was the absolute perfect setting. Jeff worked out a plan with us because we wanted to do the elopement package because we would have less than 30 guests, but still wanted to include traditional wedding events. We agreed to number of people, tables, dance floor, and we paid for an extra hour to host a reception. We specifically asked if we could arrive early as we would do the decorating ourselves. He showed us the cabin where I could get ready and a small cabin up the hill where my husband could get ready. Jeff agreed to all of this and we paid our deposit. The next months were difficult working with Jeff. He did not reply to emails or texts we sent, to help iron out details. He often went months without responding to questions and I had to resend emails and messages. I understand we were having a smaller event, but we still needed info so that we could plan accordingly. Jeff did not confirm the dance floor or tables until 1 month before our wedding day!!! I had no idea how we would seat our guests or the space we were working with. When he did answer, he often did not know specifics or have arrangements figured out. A venue not answering questions or knowing information is incredibly stressful when trying to plan a wedding. Jeff confirmed there would be a dance floor, but a month out he did not know where it would be coming from or how much it would cost. We had to call and confirm with the rental company ourselves, which we happily would have done if we knew sooner that we needed to, but Jeff said he would take care of the arrangement. 1 week before the wedding Jeff told us he will not be able to pick up our cake and bouquet, which he said he would do many times. This all would have been fine had Jeff brought this up sooner. We had to scramble to make things work less than 1 month before our wedding. When we arrived day of, Jeff was surprised we needed a power source for our DJ (something we confirmed with Jeff months ago). He brought up several times during the wedding day that our guests need to leave by a certain time. He made my husband get ready in the bathrooms, instead of the cabin he originally offered us. Jeff seemed unhappy we needed to arrive early, granted we did not pay to arrive 2 hours early, but we booked 5 hours, which we paid for and wanted to use for our event. If Jeff needed extra money for us to arrive early to decorate, we would have paid that, but that had not been a discussion- we asked about arriving early the same day we put our deposit down. Overall, the venue setting and our wedding was wonderful. We had an amazing day! But Jeff treated us as if our day was not as important, possibly because other couples spent more money on bigger weddings. He offered us a specific package, which we paid more on top of, but treated our day like it was not important.

  I am happy to hear that you had a wonderful event at our venue. The weather was perfect that weekend, as was all of June up here.
  As our dozens of 5-star reviews, particularly for communication and accessibility show, we offer personal and frequent communication with our clients. Those are in the form of email, text and even phone calls. Going back over our dozen emails I saw one that I missed and apologized for. You apparently found us on Wedding Wire but chose to email directly, although Wedding Wire provides an easy-to-track message thread.
  As to the those things which disappointed you, it was possibly a case of you hearing only what you wanted to hear during our dozens of emails and texts preceding your wedding day. I made clear that you were paying for an extended elopement package, not an all-day wedding plan.
  You first contacted us requesting a quote for a small ceremony for 20 guests. I described our Elopement Package, which includes an officiant, florals, a cake, seating, wedding arch and access to our venue for a total of 2 hours. It is a simple, yet attractive option for those wanting only a ceremony without a reception. You stated that it sounded good and asked about adding a small, simple reception. I said that our normal full-access wedding offering gives clients access to the venue, not 2 hours as does the elopement package, but all day. Our minimum venue fee for that is $6000, does not include the cake, flowers, officiant etc of the elopement and is twice the quoted $3000 elopement. Because we had a wedding the previous day and you had only 20 guests, we could offer that for $4000. You then said that sounded good, you’d like that and could we include all of the elopement package amenities, which we of course said no to. We wouldn’t add amenities valued at $1000 to an already drastically reduced price,$4000 rather than the usual minimum $6000. By that time your guest list increased to 24.
  By the time of your tour the guest list had increased to 35. We negotiated a price, more than fair to you, that would allow 5 hours access to venue ( clearly listed in bold on contract), from 2-7 pm, and include, as you said, a small reception with family. I did say that you would be allowed to use the bridal suite to change. In emails following that you requested access to the venue beginning at 10am. I of course said no, as we needed to get venue ready for your event, but you could access the cabin at noon, which still would provide for a total of 7 hours access to the venue. The week of the event you contacted me again to insist that you have access beginning at 10 or 11 and I again said it would be open by 12. You stated that all venues allow all-day access which of course they do not. Ours is unique in the area for allowing that and is, again, available for clients who pay for the full-day wedding.
  At no time did you say you would be hiring a DJ, bartender, photographer and videographer. In fact you provided our officiant with a detailed timeline including arrival times for Dj, bartender, photographers, videographer, a timeline that you did not provide us.
  All of our clients are important to us. We clearly state what is included both in initial conversations on TheKnot/Wedding Wire and in our contract to avoid any surprises for the client and for us. In offering you an additional 2 hours access to the venue, over the stated and paid for 5 hours, we did everything possible to make your wedding day special.
