We had such a great experience! We are from Cincinnati and wanted to elope in Indianapolis and I came across Indiana Wedding Design. When looking over the options we chose the Canal Wedding so we could come back to the spot that we said our vows sometime in the future. I did have some questions so I sent them in online. Angel called the same day to answer my questions and learn more about what we were looking for. She was incredibly sweet and professional. I went online shortly after our conversation and booked our wedding. A couple days later, Sara Dodson, who was going to be our officiant called me. Talking to Sara about what we wanted for the ceremony and planning everything was effortless. She truly cared about what we wanted for the ceremony and took the time to talk to me and go over detail. Fast forward to the wedding one month later, it was short and perfect, just like we wanted. Again, Sara was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for the ceremony. She also gave us advice and instructions on what to do next as far as getting the offical copy of the marriage certificate. I definitely recommend Indiana Wedding Designs.

I couldn't have had a better day. I decided at 9am Friday while I'm at work that I wanted to get married that day. I ended up on Indiana Wedding Design website. Angel popped up and asked if I had any questions. It was great I had a lot of questions. Most important, did she have any openings for that afternoon? I really wanted the canal wedding around 4. She did. The site was next to the fountain under this beautiful tree. Angel was so sweet, excited and professional. The whole experience was just what I wanted. Officiant - Angel was the perfect fit for our officiant. She kept everyone laughing and has been such a lifesaver! She helped me keep my marbles together the day of, and I couldn't be more grateful. Angel even helped me get my daughter ready for the ceremony and put my veil on! Some of our best pictures are from the smiles she put on our faces! I am so glad we found Angel and her team. From the moment I heard Angel's voice over the phone you could feel her joy and passion for her job as an officiant and I knew my daughter and her fiancé would fall in love with her. She did not disappoint them when they met. The wedding service was fun and simple just like the couple wanted. We had also hired her and her husband to bartend at our venue and they did a fabulous job given the hot weather and having to work outside. They were quick and had the crowd laughing constantly with their great sense of humor. Highly Recommend Indiana Wedding Design. Just wish I would have found them sooner to use their other services.

Indiana wedding designs gave my husband and I such a great wedding. Angel married us and Jillian was our photographer the both of them have such a great spirit and was very professional. Jillian was prompt with our wedding album she told 24 to 48 hours on our photos ,but had them ready for us the same night and the photos are amazing. Angel really made our wedding perfect and absolutely memorable. She was always available to chat (we chatted over Facebook usually, which was awesome for me), met with us beforehand, and was always very prepared. The day of our wedding she said she had already done 5 others that day, but she was still top-notch and fantastic! We went with a shorter (about 10 minutes) "Christian Light" ceremony, and our guests said it was great. Angel is incredibly lively and even got the audience involved (they all shouted "kiss the bride!" after we exchanged our rings and it was hilarious). She also took care of getting our license signatures quickly before the ceremony (for me) and right after (for my husband) and mailed it out for us. If you're looking for a vibrant, lighthearted, and even fun ceremony, Angel is the lady for you!

Working with Angel was fantastic! A few days before the ceremony, she called us to get to know us and get a feel for what we wanted to say during our vows. We requested her help to incorporate my husband’s daughters into our ceremony. Her words were beautiful and so sentimental. She made our wedding so personal and memorable!

Angel is hands down the best wedding officiant in the Indianapolis area. She was so warm and inviting to us and super professional. I had emailed her on a Thursday morning to see if she had any openings that Saturday and less than 10 minutes later we had a time and place all set up! Her personality is so much fun and you feel like you've know her forever after just one conversation! Angel did a fantastic job with our ceremony!!! We couldn't have been happier!! We called in the morning and she fit us into her Sunday. She was very pleasant, professional, friendly and most of all flexible. We forgot our marriage license had to go back home, in the course of doing so my fiance' dropped and shattered his phone. Of course neither of us wrote her name, number or address down!!! Who needs that with Smart Phones right LOL. We were late to our own wedding but she was so gracious enough to reschedule for a later time. She made our special moment just that - "SPECIAL"!! Would recommend her to anyone. Angel Bodenhamer was our officiant and she was amazing! Her home was beautiful and she provides a beautiful space both inside and out for the ceremony. We hired IWD for an officiant, day of coordinater, and DJ. The price point for all of that was amazing and definitely lower than what I would've paid anywhere else.
Angel was there for our rehearsal, and thank God for that, because it would've been rushed by the venue if she wasn't there.
Sarah did our coordinating and was the officiant the day of. She did amazing! She took all of my stress away. If you're debating on whether or not to get a day of coordinater, do it, your day will go so much smoother!
Something happened with our original DJ but Angel ended up getting Matt Rawlings from another company to DJ for us. He did very well and everyone loved the music.
The only problem we did have was it took a while to get a final invoice and copy of our revised contract. But we understand that they are very busy and are dealing with many other weddings.
Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend IWD!

I booked Angel about 9 months before the wedding. I fell in love with her positive and upbeat attitude -- she seemed genuinely excited about my wedding, even though she had never met me. As a bride, sometimes it feels like you're going through the wedding machine and it's tough to find a vendor who makes you feel "special" -- but Angel had a way of doing just that. Plus, she was so flexible in allowing us to write our own ceremony.

When I booked her, I asked if I would be getting her specifically on the day of the wedding. At first she said "If not me, then someone else on our team." I told her that I wanted her specifically and would only book if I could reserve her. (After all, I wanted to know who I was going to be working with on such a personalized ceremony.) She agreed and we set the date. She added me on social media and kept up with our wedding developments over the rest of the year. I sent her drafts of my ceremony script. I kept telling everyone how excited I was for our young, spunky, bubbly officiant!

Then, 30 minutes before the rehearsal was scheduled to begin, she Facebook-messaged me that she had a "family emergency" and wouldn't be able to attend. I was very disappointed but fortunately she sent a backup (Sarah) in her place. Sarah came prepared and ended up doing a great job, so I have no complaints about that. Obviously emergencies happen, and it was a good thing that Angel didn't leave us scrambling for a backup.

The one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is that Angel's social media posts during the rehearsal seemed to indicate that there was no such emergency. (E.g. a photo of her dressed up, smiling, funny caption, apparently coming from a hair salon). However, I certainly don't know for sure and wouldn't want to jump to unfair conclusions. But I did leave with the impression that I was "just another day of work" to Angel and that when she had something better to do, she simply found someone to cover for her. I get it -- bu

Lack of Communication

Everything started great and our officiant Lori was so helpful and fantastic. We were told we'd get an email about our photos the next day but then, silence. Reached out to the business repeatedly through the week but no response. Our officiant helped us get in touch with the photographer and we discovered all of our wedding photographs were lost. A corrupted disc literally lost every single picture. Photographer offered a replacement session but the ceremony is over, guests are gone, flowers are wilted and hair and make-up etc....we decided we just wanted that part of the package refunded. Again, silence from Angel and the business.

Do not use them for your wedding

Got married and she didn't have our cupcakes. Then she apologized and said she would refund now I have been trying to get a hold of her with no response from text, email and phone calls. I don't know if she even filled our marriage license... Very upset and will be filling a civil suit against her if not resolved before the lock downs are over..

Frustrating at best

I originally was supposed to have my wedding date on in April. I there was no communication or anything after the week before our wedding. Everything was good to go and then we heard nothing. We obviously understand the COVID19 did mess many things up and we completely understand the emergency. I was patient and worked with this company. I tried email, facebook messenger, text, and calls. None were received or returned. Eventually I did make contact with her assistant who was trying to sort through things. This was later in the summer. I was informed of a family emergency which I completely again understood. I told them that my expectation was a refund as they broke the contract by not guaranteeing my wedding date. I would understand if we had to cancel for some reason or could not use that date and could not reschedule. I informed them I would be filling against them. They said they were going to send a refund. It was never received and was never given to us. They then refused to return calls or work through anything. The last straw as I responded to a facebook post about getting a refund. It was removed after many of us that are frustrated with this service so far. I am sure that she is a nice person, and I will not say whether or not this is deliberate or just someone who should not be running a business and has gotten themselves in over their head. However, I would use caution with booking them as they seem to be doing this often. I know personally that the hardest thing was watching my wife getting upset and worried about whether we could keep our original wedding date plans or not. The limbo was beyond what I could tolerate. Now I inform them here publicly and for others that expect my communication from the Township small claims court. I will update this post if they decide to work with me and show them some courtesy if they show me some. However, I doubt it and they will likely say that I am exaggerating or that I did not follow procedures or something of the nature. Please if you would like to have a better review by all means contact me. I would until further notice avoid any company that uses this owner and affiliates. I would also be wary of their customer service as it seems to be very hit or miss.

Do not use them!

I debated on posting my review, even though I told the owner that I would be posting a negative review, because I come from a family of small business owners and know how reviews can impact the business. The more I thought about it, I would be upset if my experience happened to another couple. I'll be honest, if I could give them a negative review, I would.
Let me just start by saying that I was super excited to use this company to get married. Like everyone else, Covid19 changed our wedding plans, so we opted to get married on the canal and only have a few family members there. We booked our date (5/20/20), paid our fee (on 5/4) and received our confirmation email and text. Due to the courthouse being closed, we had difficulty getting our license, we called & text IWD several times (5/14), but never received a response. In the end, we were able to get our license, we called and text again to give an update, but no answer, no reply. The day was getting closer, but we had not heard a single word from IWD since the initial call when we booked everything. We started getting nervous that something had happened and we started looking at other options and started calling/texting IWD again. After the seventh or eighth call, we finally got a hold of someone, on 5/19. The office manager, Shelby and the owner, Angel, assured us that someone would be there, as planned, on 5/20 at the spot they set up to meet us at. The owner, Angel, personally assured us that someone else would be there since she was supposed to do the ceremony but was dealing with some personal issues. We were given an apology for the lack of communication and a family emergency excuse. No worries, we would still be able to get married. Family flew in from out of state and showed up…we drove to the canal and waited, and waited, and waited. We called, text, emailed – but no one bothered to reply. We all waited on the side of the road, dressed up, family waiting in cars and on the street, but no one from IWD bothered to tell us that they weren’t coming. Eventually IWD did reply to a text, advising that they were still trying to find someone to show up, but that the “best they could do” is marry us the following week. I requested a refund, but they told me that they have a “no refund policy” – I explained that their policy is if we do not show – not that the company doesn’t show up. I’m not sure if they understand the concept of getting married, you know, planning a day, having family there, etc. - it’s not like we placed an order for food and they lost the order, it was meant to be a special day and their lack of professionalism was icing on the cake.

We ended up using SAME DAY WEDDINGS – who, at the last minute, came to their office to perform our ceremony. We did not have the canal wedding that we planned for, but SAME DAY WEDDINGS saved the day and got us officially married. They apologized for the OTHER company not doing their job and potentially ruining our day.

After several weeks, on 6/8, the owner answered the phone and gave me her family emergency story again, apologized and stated that she would issue a refund. A week later (6/15), still no refund and they still don’t answer calls, texts or emails. I had to go through my bank to get my money back.

If you’re even remotely considering using IWD for your special day, run the other way and use someone else!

Owner stole my money for items

The owner of this company, Angel Bodenhamer Mason, sold me items on Marketplace, and accepted payment through Paypal to this company account. She never shipped the items, and stopped responding. When I continued to message and post asking about them, she blocked me. This company has lots of google reviews indicating fraud, and has an F rating on BBB.

Run far far away

This is a HORRIBLE idea. Stay away. I paid her the deposit far in advance. When covid happened, she assured me she had my new date available and would contact me two weeks out prior to the wedding. My wedding planner contacted her a few times before she responded to set up a time to do a video chat. I confirmed with her the morning of and then NOTHING. She did not "show" for the video chat. Then she did not respond to my messages or the messages from my wedding planner. After, I spoke with another vendor regarding my problems and was informed this is by far the first time she has heard of this happening. So do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction so you don't end up like me two weeks out from a wedding without an officient.

Officiant No Show, ruined day, still no response

The week before the wedding Angel promised my fiancee things were good and they'd finalize details the day before the wedding. The day before the wedding, silence. My fiancee was in a panic, tears, and an emotional mess with 20 hours to go before our friends and family would show up. She reached out to the person who was supposed to be signed on as the photographer to find out she'd never been contacted and was booked for another event. It was then that we realized we weren't getting married the next day. You can only imagine the hurt and stress my fiancee was going through. We scrambled trying to find any other options which is difficult on such short notice. Over a month later, Angel and the Indiana Wedding Design still continues to post on their web page and Facebook acting like they are an upstanding company while ignoring any calls or texts from us about our deposit or why they chose to steal from us and ruin one of the most important days of our lives. It's sad. This wasn't just a dinner, this was our wedding. Maybe this was truly a good company at one point but they have changed to the point of only theft and deception. I hope no one else has to go through what we did on what should be a happy and stress free day.

Stay away from this business

One of the most unprofessional owners I have ever worked with. Angel is upbeat and will make many promises until she has your deposit. Once your deposit is secured, good luck getting in contact with her. We were left stranded without a wedding venue less than 48 hours before our wedding. GO ELSEWHERE!

Terrible Communication

We did not have any issues with IWD before or during our wedding, our frustration started after the wedding.

About a month after our ceremony we sent a request to our county clerks office for a copy of our marriage license. We didn't hear or receive anything in the mail for a week so we gave them a call, they told us they never received our license. THIS WAS SOMETHING IWD SAID THEY WOULD DO. and we never had a chance to get the license after our ceremony, Angel disappeared taking the license with her.

Over the next two weeks I tried contacting Angel/IWD through: 1) calling/voicemail, 2) text, 3) calling our venue, 4) Messaging Angel on Facebook, 5) Messaging IWD on Facebook, 6) Emailing IWD through their website, 7) County clerks office called Angel, 8) Called from multiple different numbers in case she was just ignoring my calls. Each method was tried a couple times over the course of two weeks - I heard back ONCE. She said they would look into it and then heard nothing.

Fast forward to today, 2 months after our ceremony, my husband and I had to go back to the courthouse, pay for ANOTHER marriage license, pay for the judge to sign our certificate, and now 2 months and another $100 later we are FINALLY legally married.

I am beyond disappointed that this is how they treat their clients. Use an officiant that will value you and take care of your needs, or at least respond to your communications.

The worst Vendor!!!! They take your deposit and then they don't respond to you after!

We would just like to say that first, our wedding was BEAUTIFUL. I thought it would be very important to share my experience because for some this could've ruined their day! I acquired a list of recommended vendors from our venue and Indiana Wedding Design was on that list for officiants. When I reached out to Angel it seemed like she would be a great fit, but shortly after that she stopped replying to our messages and stopped answering our calls, nothing 2 weeks before our wedding!! After reading reviews I knew we weren't the first couple shes done this with. I was told initially that Angel would speak with us prior to the ceremony to get to know us and how we would like our ceremony to go. I called multiple times, months in advance to schedule this and finally got it scheduled 3 weeks before the wedding. I called on the scheduled time and of course no answer. I continued to try to reach out and spoke with their "call center" so many times and I never had a returned call. So the day before our wedding I met Angel at our rehearsal. It was quite ridiculous that we had to discuss in front of our entire family what we wanted from our ceremony. Then the day of, 15 minutes before my ceremony (NO JOKE), some other lady showed up to do our wedding!! Angel never called or even text me! I had to find out from the venue that it was a completely different person performing the ceremony and that Angel was "sick"! They then had the nerve to ask for payment! Unfortunately, I already paid the deposit and requested I get that back (I'm sure I wont get that back). I did not let this ruin my entire wedding day and the lady that married us did fine, however, the situation was absolutely unprofessional. Even the venue, Mill Top, said they had never had this happen and were extremely disappointed in how it was handled.

Do not choose this company!! It is unprofessional, unorganized, and our family was so disappointed.

We would just like to say that first, our wedding was BEAUTIFUL. Now we havent ever written a review before, but we figured we would to let you guys know what happened to us, because for some this could've ruined their day! But we were adults and chose to handle everything accordingly! At first we had Angel say that she would be our officiant, (we were in the military, so we planned most of our wedding from Virginia, we weren't moving to Indiana until that late July, our wedding was in September). At first she seemed liked she would be the perfect fit , but shortly after that she stopped replying to our messages (she read them though, we have screenshots!), stopped answering our calls, nothing 2 weeks before our wedding!! After reading a review that was posted maybe a month or two ago we knew we weren't the first couple shes done this with. So the week before we get a call from someone completely different, (Jimmy) he says he will be our officiant, he meets up with us, and assures us he will have the ceremony to a T! Fast forward to our wedding day we receive a message from angel that she will be our officiant again. She rushed our ceremony, didnt do what we asked, she even almost got the ceremony start time wrong, (Screenshots available for that as well) and ran out immediately after the ceremony was over, we didnt even have a chance to pay her! Hahah but that didnt ruin our day, we hope you all choose wisely! We went through some other stuff with her trying to take our marriage license, and "send it in herself", just read other reviews before ours to see what shes done with other couples!

Anywho the list goes on, she was unprofessional, unorganized, and our family was so disappointed we went with her, but what can you do when it's a week before the wedding??!

I went to IWD specifically asking to have Angel as our officiant. She agreed and was very helpful for many months of our engagement. Whenever I had questions, she was quick to respond and she even helped us make connections with our photo booth vendor (DappyHays), who was excellent. 2 weeks before our wedding, I tried contacting Angel. She did not respond to my 4-6 messages. Finally with 4 days left until wedding day, I contacted IWD with a phone number she did not have on file and did not give my name up front. She responded quickly and acted like she hadn't received any of my messages. She immediately apologized for not getting back to me sooner. We got everything organized for the big day and I was feeling much better.
On the day of our wedding, a woman I had never met before introduced herself to me as our officiant. I did not receive a call, text, email or Facebook message from Angel explaining her absence. It was so important for our wedding to be led by someone we knew and trusted and Angel knew that. After the ceremony, I sent Angel a text acknowledging the job well done by her officiant, but also explaining that we were VERY upset at the lack of communication. It really threw a wrench in our day since we had to basically explain how we wanted our ceremony to go only hours before we said I do. My text was not at all rude or angry, but Angel still read my text and did not bother to respond.
The only thing I regret from this experience is paying in advance. I honestly think if I would have waited to pay her on the day of our wedding, we would have been a higher priority for Angel. If you go with IWD, do not pay up front.
Overall, a poor experience.

When we booked Angel as our officiant through a company she was previously affiliated with, I was incredibly excited to put up a review of her. She seemed kind, interested in our ideas, and excited about our wedding. We met with her at Thanksgiving, and she ensured us we would have a draft of our ceremony by Valentine's Day! for our April ceremony. Angel suddenly ceased all communication with us. We could not get any sort of response through a variety of methods of communication. I'm very disappointed in her behavior and wanted to warn other brides to be very cautious when considering Angel as an officiant. Unfortunately, it sounds like we are not the only couple Angel has blown off. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
