I would 100% recommend the statehouse as a ceremony venue. The event staff at the Statehouse were wonderful and very accommodating. On my wedding day, the Statehouse was so beautiful and everything went so smoothly. All of my guests were wowed at how beautiful the place was and how perfect the venue was for our elegant, classy wedding. I would definitely recommend as a venue for wedding ceremonies. Note that I only had my ceremony here and had my reception somewhere else.

There is not a bad thing to say about the Indiana Statehouse wedding staff! Tracy was on top of my emails and responded promptly. They were very flexible letting us come to see the venue and helpful as to how the stage would be best set up for our event. Ned set up our stage and was there at the rehearsal to be sure there wasn't anything else we needed. He was very helpful and even gave me his number to call him if we needed anything at all. It was a very affordable place and the beauty is unsurpassed in my opinion! I felt like a princess walking down the stairs to my prince. We left via horse and carriage and even though they have a problem with the security gate outside we didn't mind. Three different people ran to the gate and had to manually open it for the carriage! Everyone was nice and helpful and I can't imagine having a better venue anywhere else!!

After much research, my husband and I chose the Indiana Statehouse for our ceremony venue. We really desired to have a venue that would provide beautiful photo ops, that would allow for us to have our friend officiate our wedding, and that was affordable. The Indiana Statehouse was the only place we found that meant those three requirements. Having our ceremony there exceeded our expectations. The wedding pictures were not just beautiful, they were phenomenal!! Our favorite photo op in the Statehouse was one of the staircases. One idea for any of you who choose to get married there is to have your father walk you down the staircase once the bridal procession song begins. Many guests loved that part. Also I was really worried about the music clarity being poor in there but it wasn't at all. We just made a CD of wedding songs and had my sister in-law play the music off of a stereo hooked up to their podium that had a speaker on it and the music sounded great. This was a very inexpensive route to go and it worked out wonderfully. Just some ideas, but I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding ceremony. It is a very classy place to get married!

We could not have been happier with our experience at the Indiana Statehouse. The building is beautiful, and Tracy and her staff went out of their way to answer questions, provide on-site tours and do the set-up we wanted. You do need to book this site well in advance, and the available ceremony and rehearsal times are limited.

We knew that we wanted to have our wedding ceremony at the Statehouse because it's a beautiful & affordable venue. We didn't really bring a lot of decorations but I looks beautiful in the photos. We had a string quartet, which the acoustics are perfect for. There's not a day of coordinator, so you'll want to make sure you have someone who knows what they're doing (can tell who when to start walking down the aisle, cue musicians, officiant, etc) but we were lucky and had a friend who had experience with that to help us out. The one bad thing is that we didn't know until the day of the wedding, only one of the doors would be open, so after the wedding I heard a few people had problems getting in and had to walk all the way around to the other side of the building. Not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience. Overall we were very happy with our ceremony venue.

The Indiana Statehouse is the best kept secret in the Indianapolis wedding industry! We were married in the South Atrium on 9.27.14 and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff at the Statehouse were very helpful but I would highly recommend having a wedding planner to help you with logistics, timing as a coordinator/wedding lady does not come with this space. The atriums are so beautiful and require very little decoration. They provide plain black chairs for your guests and they are simple and don't draw attention to themselves so there is no need to bring in other chairs. The value of using the space is incredible BUT it does book up very far in advance (we booked over a year before our wedding day). We are so happy with how our ceremony turned out and highly recommend an Indiana Statehouse wedding!

We're not quite married yet, but have been so excited by the tour we had of the Rotunda and Tracy has been amazing! We originally planned for a longer ceremony, and when we changed our minds, Tracy quickly took care of our reimbursement.

Althought I never actually met the woman who you make the arrangements with (twice we had appointments and she wasn't there), Ned is awesome! He is the one who really gets things done! The site was so beautiful! You don't need any flowers or decor. Ned sets everything up and takes it all down. It was great!

The Statehouse Rotunda is an incredibly gorgeous venue and you get a lot of bang for your buck! Everyone at our wedding thought we spent at least twice as much as we did when we booked the Rotunda. Tracy is amazing to work with and gave me so much help! Ned, the site manager, had our entire ceremony set up 24 hours before so we could change anything we needed to (although we didn't need to). The only "negative" I would say is that you have to be very well organized / have a wedding coordinator or trusted friend to handle logistics because absolutely everything is DIY. It's not like a church where you have a lot of things as a given from the start. If you want linens you need to rent them yourself, if you want candles you need to provide them yourself, there are a limited number of microphones, etc. There is not a private place for your wedding party to hang out, either. And you must get ready elsewhere because the bathrooms are tiny and not well lit. But none of those things will be a problem if you plan in advance and know what to expect! We were 100% happy with the Statehouse Rotunda and are SO glad that we were married in such a gorgeous, historic venue!

A beautiful venue, but some what of a pain to use. You need to do a lot of work on your own. I never met with the contact person, and some details weren't clear from our emails. They were however flexible when misunderstands came up (booking over our rehersal, setting up the wrong side of the building, etc). You can't beat the location, though!
