Perfect Wedding DJ!

Desmond DJed our 09/07/2024 wedding and he was PHENOMENAL.

There’s two things people always remember about a wedding: the DJ and the food.

Our guests raved about Desmond. He was SO much fun and had everyone up and moving. His energy is infectious. He knows how to read a room and played straight bangers all night.

In the time leading up to the wedding, he was so patient and kind with his email correspondences. I was a little behind the ball on planning the music for our ceremony but he took it in stride and delivered.

The day of the wedding he had excellent communication skills. He was constantly checking in with my husband and I, making sure we were happy. He is extremely attentive.

He was one of the reasons our night went so perfectly and we are so thankful for him!

Fun & Flexible!

Desmond was fun to work with and had all the extras to make our wedding reception even more exciting! Fog, glow sticks, photobooth, uplighting...he had it! He was flexible and really let us bring our personal ideas to the dancefloor! Even played extras songs at the end...as no one wanted to stop dancing! Highly recommend! Super fun guy!

The best Dj in the game

I’ve hired Mr.Carter for a few events after goin to a gala and enjoying the entire way he mixes all he music. Great hype man and also knows how to engage and control the entire venue.

Best dj ever!

Desmond did an excellent job with my wedding! I gave him very vague details and instruction regarding how I wanted things done - gaps in the music selection, telling him to do pretty much anything that he wanted! He did not disappoint :) Very outgoing, solid music selection, and the premium photobooth was a major hit. I highly recommend him!

DJ/MC for my wedding

Where to start?! A true professional, extremely accommodating, and most importantly.. fun the whole night! Great experience for my wife and I's wedding. Plenty of guests let us know afterwards how much they enjoyed I Am Tha DJ throughout the night. If you need someone to not just DJ, but really MC your event, and keep people excited, look no further. Highly recommend!

Des Keeps it Going!

Desmond is absolutely fantastic. He was suggested to us by our photographer and a few of our friends who had him DJ their weddings. We gave him a few playlists to play during the day's events, and we let him know to add anything to keep the night going; let me tell you, he kept the night going even when things slowed down a bit. Desmond was thrilled to help us host a honeymoon raffle instead of doing a bouquet/garter toss, and he even came out on the dancefloor to bust some moves! He is so incredibly kind and fun to be around. Please consider hiring him for your wedding or special event!

Amazing DJ!

Desmond was the absolute best! Kids took over the dance floor most of the night but he was right out there with him dancing and having fun! The fact that he did come out and dance with everyone just made it 10x better! He is great to work with, affordable, and an all-around great DJ! He played a wide range of music and even took requests! Had to get Baby Shark on for the kids, they loved it!!

Best wedding/DJ ever.

If you want your wedding to be perfect, this is your DJ. He was nothing short of amazing. My wedding would not have been as perfect as it was, without him. He is so talented, so attentive, and even though he had some fun with us on the dance floor (which i wanted), he is so professional. I will be using him anytime i need a DJ for any event. I just couldn’t be happier with what he provided my husband and i. He made our day extra special and a for sure moment to remember.

Des was awesome! Very energetic and professional!

Dj Des was flexible with our requests, met with us a month before to get to know us and our styles of music. Responded to emails in a timely manner! The day of the wedding, he brought the best energy we could imagine to the ceremony and reception. He stayed on a schedule and made sure people were up and dancing! We had a blast and we are so happy and grateful we went with him!

Perfection!

I never could have imagined my wedding being as amazing as Desmond made it! He took all of my requests and made them work for me no matter what. He controlled my crazy crowd and even got out on the dance floor to dance with us. It was so personal and so important to us. He really paid attention to what my guests wanted and made this night the best that it could be. We also used his photo booth option and all of my guests loved it! So professional and personal and the best choice we made for our wedding!

Dotson Wedding

We met him at a friends wedding and knew immediately he was who we wanted for our special night. He was amazing and interactive with our friends and family. Each and every song fit the evening and flowed. Our friends and family raved about the music played throughout the night. We can’t wait to book him for our next big event. If good music and dancing are some of the top priorities for your wedding, you need this guy. Because I live out of town, I didn't have the chance to meet Desmond in person until I had already walked down the aisle. We had a few conversations on the phone to talk about expectations and he was always available through Facebook messenger (probably the best way to get a hold of him). Despite the limited conversations we had, I knew immediately that I had made the right choice. Desmond was incredibly flexible and easy to work with. He has a welcoming and fun personality that draws people on to the dance floor. If you're lucky, he may even join you for a few dances! Desmond helped make my wedding reception a blast and I would recommend him to anyone!

Desmond was awesome to work with! We saw Desmond in action at two separate weddings before we were even engaged and we had so much fun at both that we did not think twice about hiring him. He was very professional and really helped keep us on track on the day of the wedding. When a few minor things changed on the day of the wedding, he was able to step in and make suggestions to keep things moving smoothly. He even helped put together some special music leading up to the ceremony. Desmond is an experienced DJ who definitely knows how to read a crowd. The dance floor was full all night!!

Desmond was great from the beginning of our ceremony to end of our reception. He kept the crowd alive and played a list of songs requested by family and friends. His price and professionalism also blew any other DJ out of the water. I highly recommend him for any event!

Our guest ABSOLUTELY loved our DJ! Desmond did such an amazing job keeping our guest on the dance floor, taking request, and even joining in! He also stayed longer than we asked because everyone was having such a great time on the dance floor. Our guest also loved the props and photo booth!

Where do I start? This DJ was everything I expected times 10! no exaggeration, I booked him to DJ my wedding a whole in advanced. Desmond reached out to me periodically the whole year to prepare for our event. We met and discussed the musical needs of my wedding from the beginning to the end. He accommodated every last minute need or change that we could throw at him. The day of wedding he showed up on time and ready to party. He even worked with our officiant to better coordinate the flow of the ceremony. During the reception he provided every song the bride and I wanted to hear and then some! I had to make sure I did a review here because his services were just what we needed.

My wife and I had an incredible reception. The venue was good, the food was good, but Desmond MADE the reception. He MC'd perfectly, he knew exactly what music to play and was very entertaining throughout the night. I would absolutely recommend this DJ for your day.

You will think he is part of your family. Unbelievable value only to be followed with exceptional entertainment. We hired Desmond for our daughters wedding, but also had the pleasure of referring him to other couples. You can't go wrong with "I Am That DJ"!

I AM THA DJ was the least stressful part of wedding planning. He was prompt and uber responsive. We were running late to the reception after taking our wedding photos and he held down the fort. He made it seem effortless and made my reception so much fun. I will always look back fondly on my wedding reception memories, especially how people actually danced all night because he did such a great job with the music. He will always be my number one DJ recommendation!

Desmond was very easy to book, from the first phone call, on he was always available to listen to any concerns we had. He recommended a playlist for us after hearing a few songs we had in mind as well making it easier for us to concentrate on the other wedding plans going on. He was dressed very well at the ceremony, and his assistant with him was extremely pleasant working with us as well. Being that I know Desmond through a couple of friends, I felt I could trust him and his assistant to not be rude to our guests and they were beyond professional in their attitude. They kept the crowd very involved and kept the mood of the party upbeat, energetic, and fun as we were celebrating a wonderful day. The best part, price! Desmond was far cheaper than the "professional DJ's" we looked into. I would not hesitate to recommend Des to anyone with any taste in music.

Where do I begin, this DJ is 1st class, top shelf, classy as well as fun. I am Tha DJ was "That DJ" he is such great MC which gives you the one two punch. I had a nontradional wedding reception without the wedding party. He customized and matched my vision perfectly. We were completely blown away with his take charge attitude. He was so organized, everything just flowed. We sat back and enjoyed ourselves without a care in the world. We have such fond memories I don't think I will ever be able to thank him enough. If you looking for a great DJ "I Am Tha DJ" won't let you down.

We absolutely loved Desmond! He definitely knows how to host a a party and keep people on their feet. We had an interracial wedding and children of about 250 guests and everyone had a great time! There was music for everyone! He also brought a photo booth with props! And a fog machine for our first dance. He also got on the Since do floor and danced with our guests which seemed to hype people up. I would definitely recommend him!

We originally booked Desmond for four hours of reception music, but we wound up booking him for our ceremony as well as his photo booth. He was extremely accommodating every step of the way. While I'm sure he would've been willing to meet up with us multiple times, we only met him for our initial meeting--and that was totally fine with me, because once you dive into planning there is minimal time for extra meetings! He fulfilled everything we requested and chatted with us briefly before we entered the reception venue to make sure everything was correct. Desmond is a phenomenal MC and makes sure the energy continues throughout the whole event. I did not realize he would be the only one running the photo booth and DJ booth at the same time, but he totally hustled! We didn't notice any breaks in music or long lines at the photo booth, and I know everyone had a great time with it. The props were hilarious--they were full-fledged character masks and props instead of just little paper cutouts. Desmond even designed the logo that went at the bottom of each photo strip. Overall Desmond is a hard worker and energetic, and I would definitely recommend him to keep the fun going!
