This was my favorite venue ever. It had the view of the mountains, they gave rides down to the venue by the river. The scenery was perfect for pictures. The food was above and beyond. We had this amazing wedding coordinator. The staff was so polite and just made the experience amazing! I give this place the best rating! Seriously made my wedding as perfect as I always hoped for.

Shaunna at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa has made this process easy so far. She has been helpful and has even made time to schedule a meeting to go over little details. My fiance and I are excited to get married here December 2020. I know we are in good hands!

We had to plan our wedding from California, so we couldn't be in person all the time for figuring out all the arrangements. None of that was ever a problem thanks to Shaunna and her team at the Hyatt. She worked with us on everything, number of guests, budget constraints, even post-ceremony photo locations on the property. The value you get from this venue is fantastic. The food was great and family friendly, Shaunna was beyond responsive and helpful, and she found ways to give us extra value, explained limits they had and never tried to up sell us on anything. She just helped us figure out our vision for our wedding and reception and made it as easy as possible. I couldn't be happier with how things turned out and we were extremely worried being out of state. If you are looking for the best balance of value, ease, and beauty, the Hyatt Tamaya is the place to get hitched in ABQ.

I have always loved the Tamaya and it was one of the first places my husband and I looked when choosing a wedding venue. We got married at the Sunrise Amphitheater with the gorgeous view of the Sandias behind us. The Tamaya has an amazing team who are all incredibly nice and helpful. We planned our wedding from outside of New Mexico and having Shaunna’s help made all the difference. Our guests also loved the Tamaya — particularly hanging out at one of the many outside patios and the firepit. I would recommend the Tamaya to anyone looking for a beautiful venue where the people work to create an event that is tailored for you.

Shaunna our wedding coordinator was AMAZING! Our wedding was more beautiful than we imagined! Shaunna Skrondahl was available at all times. During our wedding day she made sure every thing was perfect. There were things we forgot that she took care of immediately. The Hyatt regency cotton wood was exactly what we wanted and was beautifly maintained. Our pictures do not do justice on how beautiful everything came out. We recommend Hyatt Regency and shaunna to anyone looking to get married. It couldnt of been any better. Was a fairy tale come true.

We worked with Shaunna who is well experienced and made sure our wedding day was perfect! We had our wedding ceremony outside at the Sunrise Amphitheater and had dinner outside under the pergola. You cannot beat that VIEW of the mountains and the sunset; it is truly magical! Everyone from the bellhops to upper management, from the time I arrived, was very attentive and accommodating. I never wanted to leave! My husband and I stayed an extra day and enjoyed the pool and restaurants. If you want a destination/vacation wedding vibe while still being close to the city, this is the place to go!

To start, I chose this venue for two main reasons - the gorgeous views at the Cottonwood venue (not to mention its private) and that it is the perfect mix between outdoors/indoors and easily accessible for out of state guests. The staff was always honest, available to communicate with, professional, and friendly. I have no regrets about choosing this venue and would highly suggest others to choose them as well!

Tamaya was incredible! The beauty and views were breathtaking, and the service was exceptional! I had no stresses the day of the wedding since everything was done efficiently and correctly. I couldn’t thank anyone more than Shaunna for making my day special since she is the event coordinator “mastermind” of making sure everything was done precisely, and was super friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this location not only for the beauty, but for the incredible service.

Highly recommend the Tamaya resort! Our wedding was better than we could have imagined. Shaunna was outstanding from start to finish. She was responsive and flexible as we both lived out of state which made some planning a bit complicated. The sunrise amphitheater was beautiful and required no decorations. Our family and guests raved about the food and overall atmosphere.

Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for. Shaunna made the planning process so easy and enjoyable. She was so responsive to our questions and was more accommodating than I could have asked for. The food provided by the chef was stunning, 5 star quality. The resort is gorgeous and hardly requires any decoration to make your ceremony picture worthy.

Absolutely wonderful experience with the Hyatt Tamaya. Shaunna was our point of contact/coordinator through the Hyatt and she was incredible. She was very good at quickly answering our many many questions (sorry for all the emails Shaunna!) She had many wonderful suggestions and insights in addition....she didn't just only "answer questions" she helped come up with quite a few of the ideas and solutions! It was a picture perfect day, and so many friends and family kept coming up to us with pure amazement saying everything surpassed their expectations. The Hyatt was also very accommodating with the meals (all of which were very delicious). A few of our guests had either food allergies or dietary requirements (ex: not just vegetarian, but vegan....or needing dairy free or gluten free).

If there is one thing I would've done better, it would've been to be less conservative with our room block, and to understand the Hyatt's room block policies a little better. With another wedding and/or convention around the same time, the hotel ended up selling out of rooms (about 2 or 3 months ahead of time) for the Thursday before the wedding (a Saturday). A few guests that came in early had to hop between hotels....not the end of the world. We had been very conservative at first, (with the Hyatt requiring 90% of the rooms in the block to be filled), but after the Thursday sold out, we amended our room block to a higher number for the Friday/Saturday nights (I think committing to 60 rooms?) and the Hyatt dropped our percentage of rooms needing to be filled to only 80%....we didn't know that was even a possibility, so definitely ask questions. If you can, talk to close friends and family way ahead of time and get good numbers of who is planning on staying at the Hyatt so you don't run into the same problem we did.

We had our ceremony outside by the Sunrise amphitheater and then bussed out to the cottonwoods for the cocktail hour/reception at the Cottonwood Pavilion.

Had it not been for our amazing service from Shaunna, we probably would have gone somewhere else for our wedding. Shaunna was absolutely wonderful and made all of our day beautiful! The campus speaks for itself and produces some of the best pictures you can imagine for a wedding. The staff was great throughout the entire night and even saved my piece of cake when they realized I hadn't eaten it, being a distracted bride. At the end of the night, they brought it out for a midnight snack for me! We had the best experience possible, and our day was just perfect!

I couldn't be happier with the Hyatt Regency at Tamaya. Our daughter was married at the Cottonwood Pavilion and it was absolutely perfect. It's such a beautiful oasis in the desert. We couldn't have picked a better venue. From the food to room reservations, Shaunna, the hotel coordinator, made sure no detail was overlooked! She even helped us surprise our daughter with a horse and carriage. Everything was so wonderful and ran so smoothly. It truly was a magical day!

We had a fairytale wedding! We got married in May before the busy season and loved the Sunrise amphitheater but weren't crazy about the ballrooms for the reception (which are normally paired together). They were super accommodating and allowed us to have the reception at the Cottonwood Pavillion, which was perfect, secluded, and had a great atmosphere. We had a buffet dinner and the food was outstanding (the artichokes! Wow!!). The staff was very friendly. Shaunna, our event coordinator, was friendly, organized, and put our minds at ease! We can't sign off here without mentioning the amazing views! Our pictures came out fantastic! We know we made the right choice with the Tamaya and would do it again!

The Tamaya is a phenomenal location for a wedding venue. My husband and I were married at the Cottonwoods. It was absolutely perfect! The venue provided our out of town guests with a taste of New Mexico, and added entertainment. Also the Cottonwoods provides intimacy for you and your guest. Not to mention breath taking pictures.
Shaunna is absolutely amazing! We had an issue with our florist, and Shaunna didn't bat an eye to try and make sure I didn't worry about anything! The rest of the staff are extremely accommodating as well.

My husband and I recently got married at the Tamaya cottonwood pavilion in May of 2017. It was like out of a fairy tail. Shaunna, one of the consultants for the hyatt was very professional and helped take a huge weight of me (the bride) during the planning of the wedding. She worked flawlessly with my wedding planner and other vendors to give me a truly fairy tail wedding. The food and staff were fantastic and the day ran so smoothly, everything to time perfectly. People let feeling like they were transported to a fairtail and I am still getti g complements saying it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I am 100% happy with my choice in venue and if I could do it all over again I would do it exactly the same way with nothing different.

Tamaya is the perfect place to have your wedding in New Mexico! My husband and I were married here on April 29th and we were very pleased with the overall experience. From day one to the wedding day, the staff at Tamaya were fantastic, making sure to listen to our needs and help us craft the perfect day. My husband and I loved that we could have a wedding at a hotel without the hotel feel. The food is out of this world and their multiple wedding venue options allow for flexibility when planning. On the day of the wedding, we woke up to snow and freezing cold temperatures but the staff quickly eased our worries and made sure to run the day without a hitch! Having a wedding here is worth every single penny!

We could not have been any more happy with our experience at Hyatt Regency Tamaya! Everything about our special day was perfect.... From the planning, communication, activities, how professional the staff were, you name it. Shauna and the staff made us feel like royalty. We got tons of compliments on how beautiful our day was. Tamaya was the perfect getaway for our family and friends. For the multiple days we stayed there, we were easily entertained. There is something to do for everyone.
Wedding day was so smoothe and coordinated, which made it stress free. Could not have been any more fairy-tale like and affordable at that!!!!!!

The Tamaya was the perfect venue. The location at the cottownwoods venue was amazing, went with our theme perfectly, and seated more than enough people! The staff was friendly, consistently checking in, and were very attentive.

My husband and I really enjoyed having our wedding at Tamaya last year. It was a very beautiful location and the staff was wonderful! They were very professional and organized. I could not have imagined my wedding any better than what Lyn and Eric helped me do at Tamaya.
The Cottonwood venue was better than I dreamed, and the permanent structure that was just recently built is perfect so that you can stay in the cottonwoods atmosphere. They were extremely professional, and were willing to do anything that I requested. The price was great for all the services that were provided. The they have a horse carriage.. do it. You will NEVER regret it.

Our daughter and son-in-law had their Fairy Tale wedding. Our coordinator was top notch. Handled every detail especially those last minutes ones. Setting was PERFECT. Reception was perfection. Food was the best ever. Was worth every penny to see our daughter's WEDDING DREAM come true.

The Tamaya exceeded our expectations! I may be biased, but our wedding was absolutely perfect. The venues was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious! I wouldn't change a thing.

This is a beautiful wedding venue and everything we needed was handled with professionalism and class. There are so many bits and pieces that go into planning a wedding, and from the moment we secured our date at Tamaya, we felt completely taken care of. It seemed like any request we had was always received with an open mindset and optimistic spirit. Shaunna was our main point of contact, and she was the best to work with! She was always so prompt when replying to all of our emails (and there were a ton!). She made us feel like we were her top client. We wanted to have a kosher-style dinner and the kitchen staff at Tamaya kindly worked within these constraints. Our pescaterian meal was divine! All the dishes they created for us were delicious. I wish I could have more of the mushroom soup and blue corn scones. Our wedding day was flawless from start to finish. We were able to be present (mentally) the entire day, as Shaunna and her staff took care of everything.

In terms of constructive feedback on our experience at Tamaya, there were two challenges we encountered, though neither were dealbreakers. We would have liked a bit more flexibility with the dessert options, as well as a different process to update our room block. Our guess is that these are corporate restrictions, with little wiggle room.

To anyone considering tying the knot in Albuquerque, we would highly recommend Tamaya as your wedding venue of choice. And hopefully, you are lucky enough to have Shaunna as your right-hand-wonder-woman-of-a-wedding-coordinator.

Eight months later and people are still talking about our wedding at Tamaya. The food, the space and the dedication to top notch service pervaded everything that took place that weekend.

My husband and I had our destination wedding at the Tamaya in early June 2018. I am from NM, but most of our family and friends flew out from the East Coast and we wanted to share the beauty of NM and the Native American culture. The property itself is gorgeous and provides amazing amenities for out of town guests such as world class golf and several different swimming pools and nature trails. It is a unique property which is hard to find, that has the local culture perfectly mixed with amenities and services expected of a luxury resort. The wedding planning group, headed by Shaunna, was amazing and catered to our every need throughout the planning process. On the night of the wedding, I asked for Rose wine, which wasn't included in our alcohol package, and without even a second thought, we had rose wine flowing all night! This is a special place, and we would get married again at the Tamaya in a heartbeat!

Beautiful venue pictures were amazing

We had our wedding here just four months ago and it was absolutely perfect. The wedding coordinator was very organized and responsive. There were only a few details that weren't as clear as I had originally thought but it was all worth it in the end. The food is excellent, the venue is wonderful, my guests really enjoyed the entire experience as this was a destination wedding for all of us. We did the single course menu, and it was great. They set the wedding suite up for us to use so I could get in my dress and not have to sweat in it all the way from the house we rented. The suite was set up with chocolate strawberries and champagne for our honeymoon and it was excellent. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful venue and amazing, friendly staff.

Just like everyone says Shauna is amazing, we had initially started off with a different planner there who was terrible with communication but felt so much better when Shauna took over. She was great at responding and trying to work with us. We were planning from out of state and she definitely tried to help as much as possible. The only thing that could have been better was he food, it was great in the tasting but so dry on our wedding day.

I went to the Tamaya salon for my wedding day hair and makeup. I was a little hesitant because they told me they just did consultations without actually doing the hair and makeup ahead of time, but rather just to discuss what you'd like. I was ok with this idea since I'd spent over $200 doing a trial with Arte de la Mano on Alameda (which turned out awful), but still a little nervous about it. They seemed to not know what to do with me when I came for the consultation (in their defense, the stylist who was doing my hair was out sick) and I felt like it was a waste of time for me to drive all the way out there. However, the day of, my stylist was super sweet and professional and communicated with me effectively. She listened to what I told her and discussed my photos with me. My hair and makeup turned out beautiful. She asked me questions about what I wanted, and was very helpful when I didn't know what I wanted (I rarely put on much makeup - so I'm often clueless). Overall, I was very impressed, not only with the service, but with the low price for such quality work.

My husband and I wanted to be married in a special place surrounded by family, friends, natural beauty and a touch of luxury. The Hyatt Regency Tamaya delivered! The resort amenities, food, and staff were great! We look forward to spending more momentous occasions and vacations at the Tamaya! We definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency Tamaya as your wedding destination.

Was married May 5, 2018 in an outdoor ceremony here. The resort is absolutely beautiful and made an amazing back drop for pictures and the ceremony. Shaunna was our contact and was very helpful, kind and professional with all our interactions. Our guests were impressed with the resort and service provided. A little pricey but I believe it was worth it!!

This Place was Awesome! it was such a perfect place for our perfect day!! One thing that i was a little upset with was our meal that we paid 35.00 a plate for wasn't what we had picked out in the tasting, but after the wedding they gave us a free weekend to make up for it so that was good:)

I was married in the newly built Cottonwoods Gazebo and Ballroom in the bosque on the grounds of Tamaya. The view and the facility really can't be beat. The event staff Tamaya employees are excellent and very willing to help with any requests or issues and on the day of the event they really take care of you. However, I became frustrated at times with the length of time it took to respond to emails and phone calls (some of this was due to some changes in staffing).

As far as value is concerned, I think that there are other options in the area that have the same wow factor at a better price. Our contract included a cake (if we brought our own there is a $4 cutting fee per guest), I was hesitant at first but was told the pastry chef could do almost anything and was shown beautiful pictures of past creations. Well let me just say this, our cake was ugly and nothing like the pictures I sent to the chef. I was slightly disappointed with the linen options that Tamaya provides, especially since they seem to be a popular choice for many large events. Our options were very basic white or black, green banquet chairs and flimsy wooden folding chairs for the ceremony. There are other areas in which I believe Tamaya could improve but I also know I am nit picky, but for what we paid in the end I really felt that there should have been a bit more offered to us and at the very least a pretty cake.

Value is my biggest knock for Tamaya, other than that our wedding was very beautiful and well executed (minus the fact we bought and paid for a champagne toast for each guest which never came, we were comped for this mistake but its still frustrating). I would also like to applaud the hotel staff (not just the event staff) for being extremely kind and helpful. Everyone at the hotel was willing to go above and beyond to ensure all of our guests had a wonderful time.

I got married out at their cottonwood pavilion. It was out in the woods and they provided bussing to get guest out there. They have a lot of rules but over all I enjoyed the location. They are a bit overpriced for drink and everything was in house, so no outside drinks. They food was wonderful and had option for my buffet style wedding. They do offer plated options. They did make me my southern style sweet tea after I debated with them about it. Over all they did their best to help me have my perfect day and worked to see if they could make it happen and it did.
