User1782690 Sent on 08/26/2014Great experience with Hudson Valley. Kim was very helpful and worked with us through changes that we needed to make. Only concern was that it took a bit longer to get the contract than we would have liked. Prices were competitive. Buses were clean and in good working order. Drivers were professional, helpful, and were in constant communication. Very reliable and we would definitely use them again. -
User1286619 Sent on 08/14/2013This company was great ; our driver arrived early and was a great help. He loaded. Our bags on the 24 passenger bus then moved them to the 54 passenger bus while we were in the church.
We arrived on time to the reception as well did our guest that were picked up at the hotel and he returned to the reception early as well. Overall there were no problems with this vendor.

The planning process was easy with them! They were responsive and courteous. However, our contract was for a small bus to pick up the groom early in the day, and take him, one way, to the ceremony. A few hours later, different vehicles were supposed to shuttle guests to and from the hotel/reception at the start and end. THANKFULLY, the reception shuttling was fine. However, earlier in the day, while in my limo to my ceremony, I received a phone call that the bus for the groom and his groomsmen (11 of them) never showed up. When called and asked where he was, the driver said, "on my couch where are you?" SO unprofessional. Family members had to individually shuttle 12 men to my ceremony, and then as I was lined up to enter the church, the bus pulls up to the church honking, SO inappropriate at the start of a church ceremony, to a place we did not need him, because the groom and groomsmen were coming in a different limo after the ceremony, so his presence was pointless. As I mentioned, their shuttle service at night was better, but we even had a wedding planner that called to confirm timeline, sent out a vendor timeline through email, and our conversations were clear. Had we not had family willing to jump in and drive our groom and groomsmen a half hour to the ceremony our day could have been a lot uglier. -

Hudson Valley Charters disputed the original review from my wife's account and then Wedding Wire removed the review because the contract was in my name and the contract wasn't countersigned by THE VENDOR. So Wedding Wire decided that our contract, email coorespondences and proof of payment wasn't enough to show proof that we were actual clients of this poorly run bus company, I decided to make my own account to WW to ensure this review can hopefully help another couple avoid the stress we dealt with on our wedding day.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
We paid & contracted 2x 56 person buses for Saturday 9/25. Unfortunately, only one bus showed up to the hotel where our guests were staying, leaving well over a dozen of our guests stranded and forced to Uber/Taxi up to our venue which was over 40 mins away. Due to Hudson Valley Charter’s lack of ability to deliver the second bus, our ceremony was delayed by 25 mins which ultimately cut into our reception and dancing time.
We specifically contracted 2x buses to avoid this exact issue as Taxi/Uber's are scarce in the area as compared to NYC where most of our guests were traveling from. We were so embarrassed that our guests had to find their own transportation due Hudson Valley Charter not providing the second bus. Hudson valley Charter tried to blame another company that they outsourced the buses to and said it wasn’t their fault that the second bus never arrived. We had no idea we weren’t getting buses from the company we had signed contract with.
This could have been resolved if their team was able to effectively communicate throughout the wedding planning process and provide the second driver's phone number, but they never followed up with that information. To add to that embarrassment, my husband was dealing with multiple people from Hudson Valley Charter while he was trying to enjoy our wedding morning/afternoon. The gentlemen from HVC was extremely unprofessional and unorganized at communicating the timeline. Avoid the stress, embarrassment and headache and use another company for transportation, the cost you’re “saving” because their prices are more affordable are not worth it. You truly get what you pay for.
