    Beautiful Day

Hotel Albuquerque was an amazing venue!!! We had our ceremony in their outdoor pavilion and our reception at Casa Ecencia (also at the hotel). Both were beautiful. The staff was wonderful and took care of everything! The food was soooooo good. I highly recommend Casa Ecencia as a wedding venue. It is a great alternative to the boring hotel ballroom but has all the convenience of having a hotel take care of everything for you. It is a large “house” with lots of beautiful rooms for guess to congregate and mingle. We had food and bar stations set up throughout, so no one had to wait in line for either. I did not have to hardly decorate it at all. All my guests were wowed by it and thought it was one of the best weddings they had been to because of unique venue. The staff was VERY helpful and responsive and met all of our requests. I am so grateful to them for all they did to make our special day unforgettable!

    Absolutely wonderful!!

Hotel Albuquerque was the perfect location for Our wedding .
We started planning in 2019 after I fell in love with the chapel at the hotel, it is beautiful and it was just what I wanted for our wedding in March of 2020. Everything was going to plan and then the pandemic started and our wedding was canceled 2 weeks before it was supposed to happen and I was devastated but there was nothing anyone could do .
Hotel staff was amazing since day 1 they were constantly updating us and we rescheduled our wedding for a year later. We started working with Beth who is the corporate director of catering who filled in as our coordinator for the day and she was absolutely amazing She went above and beyond and answered every single question we had. We let her know we wanted something more intimate and not as structured as a normal before covid wedding and she was helpful in getting it set up the way we wanted. Adrian the hotel manager was also phenomenal! He made sure we were comfortable in our room when we arrived and we truly could not ask for more. Days before the wedding we noticed hotel staff getting everything ready for our ceremony, they were cleaning the grounds and getting the fountain ready. We were their first wedding in a year. Everyone was so excited for us. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff was extraordinary. I was stressing out before ceremony and forgot to eat and they ran up to my room with snacks. Then it was time for they ceremony and my anxiety was taking over Beth told me not to stress and that everything was okay. She was right everything went as planned. Finally we get to our reception we picked the Fireplace Room, which is a smaller enclosed room off of the Garden Pavilion with french windows, hardwood floors, vega ceilings, and the fireplace. We selected this room because we were having a very small gathering due to current restrictions in place due to covid but it was still amazing and wouldn’t have it any other way. Wait staff was also amazing with all of our guest, they accommodated us in every possible way. We would not change a thing, and would give Hotel Albuquerque the highest of recommendations they truly went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you Beth and Adrian and everyone involved with making our wedding day unforgettable.

    Cutest chapel...EVER!

My daughters' wedding was amazing. Lindsay was there every step of the way and everything went smoothly. I should mention I only had two weeks to find a venue and plan the wedding; my new son-in-law is in the military and received orders to relocate. Off I went, found Hotel Albuquerque, the cutest little chapel, and Lindsay. Thank you so much!

    Beautiful venue!

Hotel Albuquerque was a great venue for our wedding ceremony. The outdoor pavilion is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when all of the greenery is blooming. The backdrop for the bride and groom is also beautiful, and our pictures came out wonderful! The staff was also very helpful throughout the wedding. Lindsay became the coordinator midway through our planning, and she was great in helping plan all the details we needed. During the rehearsal, she was very helpful in organizing everyone and making sure everything ran smoothly. On our wedding day, Lindsay and Brittany both were very helpful in ensuring everything went smoothly as well. They set up our decor, and, even though the day was unexpectedly windy, they were helpful in ensuring there were no problems. They tied down certain decor to keep it from blowing and, when the wind blew one of the unity sand glasses off of the table, they were quick to clean it up. We appreciated their help throughout the process, and the venue was beautiful and we were thankful to have our wedding there!

    The perfect ceremony

Our ceremony was under the pavilion and was certainly magical and the perfect backdrop for photos. We did have a rocky start as we have met 3 different event coordinators since we started looking into Hotel ABQ for our ceremony. Carin was amazing, quick to respond and always remembered us. When she left, I appreciated an email from her letting us know she was leaving and someone else would contact us. Insert Lindsay, who reached out by email to introduce herself and always responded quickly to our emails. We were able to meet in person with Lindsay and felt comfortable with her taking over. Needless to say, Lindsay had it all under control and directed us as needed. We had no issues, things ran smoothly and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Loved it!

A solid choice for an indoor wedding

We had our ceremony at the chapel on site at Hotel Albuquerque and our reception in the Franciscan Ballroom. Both spaces are beautiful. The staff we worked with are very professional and the whole service was very streamlined with how many events they do. I think it's a really great venue for the price, particularly if you're planning an indoor wedding in Albuquerque. The catering was also provided by Hotel Albuquerque (and required as part of using the venue). The food was done well, and there was plenty of food. The only real negative of the catering is lack of good vegetarian options for the plated meals. We were only provided a single option for a vegetarian meal.

After reserving a spot in Summer 2017, my wife and I held our wedding reception in June 2018 at the Hotel Albuquerque. Honestly, it was phenomenal in every way and exceeded our expectations. Specifically, Carin the event coordinator, who joined the Hotel Albuquerque midway through our planning process was phenomenal. She really went above and beyond, and helped us to tailor the reception to what we had in mind, while having a real eye for providing guidance when we needed. The days before the wedding she really helped to simplify the process and take as much off our plate as possible, including coordinating the entire setup process. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff was phenomenal. From the hostesses to the bartenders and wait staff, our guests were treated phenomenally, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Despite all of this, we were easily able to come in under our wedding budget. We would not change a thing, and would give Hotel Albuquerque (as well as Carin) the highest of recommendations.

When initially booking with hotel abq it was roughly 2 years from my wedding date. We fell in love with the chapel on grounds. Throughout the course of the 2 years the hotel changed wedding coordinators 4 times. The Last coordinator, Chelsea really made this review 5 stars! She is attentive, personable and truly prioritizes her clients. She understood the frustrations I had having Been through multiple coordinators and having to explain our wedding vision over and over again. She connected with us on a personal level and made our day perfect. The day of the wedding she was wonderful. She checked in to ensure everything was perfect!

Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town gave us the wedding of our dreams! Everything came together with minimal stress throughout the whole process. Beth, the wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic! The food was wonderful! Hotel Albuquerque is also very familiar with vendors around Albuquerque. Everything available at the hotel was so convenient for our whole wedding weekend! If we had to choose all over again we would definitely go with Hotel Albuquerque again!

Liz and the entire staff of Hotel Albuquerque did an AMAZING job!!! The whole process up until the day of went soo smoothly and that was thanks to Liz! She really knows what she is doing and works to make sure that everything is set up the way you want! Our reception room turned out perfect!!! We had one of the ballrooms that has the option of the new LED lighting that changes colors, and it was TOTALLY worth it!! It made the reception even prettier having the changing of the lights. Everything was setup the way we talked about and the whole night went great! Not a single problem and again, the entire staff did a wonderful job! Another thing I have to rave about was the food!! We received so many compliments on the food we had! A lot of guests said it was the best food they've had at a wedding. You really cannot go wrong having your wedding at Hotel Albuquerque! It is such a beautiful hotel and it is perfect if you are having out of town guests as it is right by Old Town! Highly recommend it!!!

I picked Hotel Albuquerque because of it's central location and it's all-in-one service. I loved that the ceremony and reception were all there and that my guests (about 75% out of towners) were able to easily walk down from their rooms for the festivities.

When I booked the venue I worked with Liz, who was easy to communicate with and very nice. About a month before the wedding Liz moved into a new job and was replaced by Beth. At first I was a little freaked out with it being so close to the wedding, but Beth was great!!! She was able to pick up right where Liz left off.

Overall I am very happy with Hotel Albuquerque as a whole. The rooms were nice, the chapel was perfect and the reception was everything I wanted and more! Also, the food was so tasty! I totally recommend them!

We used Hotel Albuquerque for our reception space only since the ceremony was in a church. Half way through the planning process my planner was switched to Liz and she was wonderful to work with. The first planner I worked with, Kelcy, was wonderful as well. The majority of the time we corresponded via email and both were very prompt in their responses. I felt like I sent so many questions but they were always courteous and kind. I also worked with the room sales team for the room block and they were equally as great.
I met Liz face to face for the first time when we had the final meeting for all of the details and I left that meeting so happy! Liz is a perfect fit for her job! She is so on top of things and she has such a wonderful demeanor. I had a number of items that I brought in myself, and she took everything in with my instructions and her and the staff set up everything perfectly. The ballroom looked wonderful! She even set up addition lighting in the ballroom just to make the linens in the room 'pop'!
The food was just as good as the tasting! We received so many complements, especially for the steak and enchiladas - they were a hit!
All in all, I'm so happy we chose Hotel Albuquerque for our reception space! The entire team went above and beyond to make the event special for my husband and I!

Liz and her staff did everything to make sure our big day went off without a hitch! They really made sure to have everything just as we asked and even kept a to do list specifically for us so we never missed a tasting or an appointment.
The chapel is absolutely beautiful and our entire guest list with no problems. There was also a huge room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in. There was a floor to ceiling mirror for getting ready as well as numerous other mirrors. It fit the entire wedding party and both sets of parents.
The reception was just perfect. The room showed off the southwestern heritage of the region but was still elegant. Everything was just as we had asked for it to be, from the table set up to the centerpieces (that the hotel actually provides!).
The menu cannot to be topped. The food was delicious and all came out piping hot. On top of that, Liz and her staff made sure that my husband and I were served absolutely first so we could eat before having to make the rounds.
Everything that had the opportunity to go wrong was completely covered by the hotel staff so there would be no errors. I couldn't thank them enough when the whole night was over!

Hotel Albuquerque was wonderful to work with. The Chapel is absolutely beautiful and needs very little in way of decorations due to the overall structure design. Our wedding was very small (only 36 people, including me and my husband), so we had our reception in the Fireplace Room, which was a smaller enclosed room off of the Garden Pavilion with french windows, hardwood floors, vega ceilings, and of course, the fireplace. The chairs that the hotel offer are very comfortable but lack a great look to them, and I simply did not see the point in doing chair covers, so I opted to use the illusion of color and lighting and went with black overlays and lavender napkins (black and lavender being our wedding colors). The black overlays distracted the eyes from the chairs and the lavender napkins created an array of colorful "pop" at the table, combined with the color-changing centerpieces that I created and the wedding favors. Once the sun went down, the entire room looked spectacular and was like being in our own little private capsule of romance. I LOVED IT!! Best surprise of all was the ice sculpture that comes with our package! This was TRULY BREATHTAKING!!! And the food was AWESOME!! I HIGHLY recommend this venue for a bride who wants an all-in-one package and doesn't want to mess with the ceremony in one location and reception elsewhere. The entire staff was 100% professional and our honeymoon suite far exceeded my expectations from our initial tour when we were looking a year prior (much larger and had a great view).

    One enchanted evening.

To the wedding planner staff at Hotel Albuquerque,
Boris and I have been busy with married life, moving, etc. but we both wanted to send you and your team a special Thank You for the outstanding job your entire staff did for the Evans Venet reception soirée.

All the workers, waiters, and helpers did an outstanding job going above and beyond our expectations on the service and attention to detail.

Please forward our deep appreciation to Beth, Chris, and all the others involved in making April 28th such a perfect evening. Our guests (professionals who’ve attended many soirées) were enchanted and very impressed. I won’t hesitate to recommend Hotel Albuquerque and the wedding planners and staff for any important event, big or small.

    Most sincerely,
Susan Evans Venet and Boris. ❤️👍🏼

Liz and the team at Hotel Albuquerque were wonderful to work with! It was very professional and clear from the beginning, and our reception was wonderful. People mentioned they liked the food as well. Hotel Albuquerque really helped create a beautiful celebration for us. The only downside was that we happened to get married on a very busy Holiday weekend, so it sometimes felt like a wedding factory. Everything else, however, was perfect.

After searching many of the outdoor options for a wedding venue, we decided on Hotel Albuquerque because it was the best choice when we considered organization and planning (day of), style, and value for our money. Hotel Albuquerque was the only venue where we could have an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception, and a day of coordinator. The staff at Hotel Abq made everything flawless the day of our wedding and took care of all of the details that anyone else in the wedding party could not be in charge of on such an important day. Everyone who was at our wedding said it was the best wedding they had been to, and most of that is credited to the staff at the venue. Great food, excellent service. Definitely a top venue choice in ABQ.

I wanted to have the ceremony and reception in the same location to make it easier on our guests and this did the trick! The hotel was able to block out rooms at a discounted rate which helped for the holiday weekend. Our ceremony was in the chapel and everything went smoothly. The transition from ceremony to cocktails to dinner was seamless and everyone found their way easily. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The wedding coordinator was so organized and had great recommendations for other vendors as well. I would recommend the hotel to anyone!

Hotel Albuquerque was our selection for our reception venue for our wedding on September 10th, 2016. Meeting in person with Beth was amazing she was very accommodating. The only downfall was the follow through on the payments and also emails with any questions we had. Our wedding day was perfect and everything was set up as we had planned. One of the best decisions we made!

The night of the wedding everything from the linens and china to the meal was spot on. The event captain anticipated our every move and made sure they were taken care of. We were a little disappointed that the hotel had signs up for a wedding following ours and it confused our guests, however, they rectified the problem as soon as it was brought to their attention. We also had an issue with a conference booked in a room between two weddings and the "noise level" but again the hotel staff took care of us as soon as they found out we had issues. The food was amazing and the hotel was very flexible with changes.

The hotel is very beautiful, and there were a lot of places to take pictures! The guests really enjoyed staying at the hotel and the food was incredible. It was a very enjoyable wedding.

While it was a beautiful venue and location, it was a struggle to get any response from the staff. It would take 4 days for an email reply and didn’t have the time to call the hotel and have them chase down the people in charge. It took us traveling four hours from our home to get answers and to find out the hotel wedding coordinator no longer worked there. The group block manager only gave us 10 rooms for 150 people. I emailed to get a contract for more rooms twice, and never got a response. I wouldn’t have chosen any other place to get married as it fit my vision perfectly, but the staff and management need work.

We loved the decor of this venue for our reception. When we originally booked with them, about 9 months before our wedding, we didn't like their wedding coordinator and ended up working with their catering manager, who was awesome. Well as the wedding got closer we came to find out that the catering manager no longer worked there, and the wedding coordinator that we didn't like had been replaced with another wedding coordinator that we didn't like. She wasn't very accommodating or helpful. In the end, everything went ok (despite rearranging the tables three times on the day of the wedding, which I, thankfully, wasn't there for but my husband was). Everyone is still talking about what a beautiful wedding it was and we had a good time. We were so busy that everything was such a blur anyways. If I had it to do over though, I wouldn't use them again. I just fell in love with the southwestern style of the place.

    Disappointed

Our biggest disappointment with Hotel Albuquerque was that our cards were stolen at some point during the wedding (as were the cards at another wedding at the hotel that night). You would think with how much you’re paying the hotel you wouldn’t have to worry about this. We’ve learned that this has happened before at this same venue, so just be aware of that when considering Hotel Albuquerque.

We also worked with three different event planners while planning our wedding here. It was as if our wedding was just being passed along from person to person, causing a lot of miscommunication. There were long gaps between email responses due to this.

The food at our tasting was cold, however many people complemented the food at the actual wedding. Just thought that should be noted as well.

While our wedding was beautiful, Hotel Albuquerque just didn’t live up to the hype. With the poor communication, high price and lack of professionalism, I might consider having your wedding elsewhere.

Beautiful location! Terribly unprofessional, disorganized staff. Would take 3-5 days to get a response from the vendor. They switched coordinators and didn't tell me till emails started bouncing. Poor, POOR quality of service during dinner. My poor guests were without water often. Was promised our wedding topper- did not even get that. Beautiful location, but I wouldn't suggest this experience to any bride. Definitely added to my stress throughout the process.

This venue responded to my email fairly quickly, but never followed up with me. I contacted several places and in the scramble of emails, I ended up losing the email that was sent to me. From the images in the email, the venue looked very beautiful and seemed very put together. The event location was included in another email for another location as well (Casa Escencia) and through the correspondence, I was unclear if it they are the same location or if there is a separate area / hotel managed by the same company. All in all, the venue was beautiful and I've been there for other occasions, the email was very polite and included a pricing menu, however there was no follow up on my inquiry to view the location and as such, I feel that they lost points for that.

Hotel Albuquerque provides a beautiful venue for your wedding, however you must be prepared for severe customer service issues such not responding to your calls/emails, misplacing your tasting dates, inability to provide financial accounting and most importantly misappropriating your personal items with no hotel/management accountability.

I booked my wedding at Hotel ABQ 1 year in advance. I should have anticipated problems after the innumerable voice mails and e-mails to even discuss booking the venue. During the year leading up to my wedding, voice/e-mails were unanswered, deadlines were missed, financial accounting did not occur and multiple phone calls/e-mails were required to get a response for any questions.
The wedding event planner is inattentive, uninterested and does not follow thru. She even shared her dislike of weddings/rehearsals in the chapel where my guests were sitting during our rehearsal.

I provided specialty beverages for my wedding after consultation with the wedding planner. I was assured that the hotel staff could manage this. Beverages were ordered with the understanding that there would be overage and that it was to be returned to me after the wedding. In spite of requesting a return of the unused beverages immediately after the wedding, and multiple phone calls following the wedding, I was informed that my specialty beverages were used by the hotel staff for other events at the hotel. Hotel management did nothing to replace/refund or acknowledge the theft of my property.

Please don’t use the Garduno’s restaurant in the hotel for your rehearsal dinner. The food and service are terribly disappointing. Select another venue for your dinner and bridal breakfast or you will be very dissatisfied.

My wedding day was the only thing that was perfect. The team worked very hard on that day to ensure that everything went well.

Proceed with caution and low expectations if you decide to have your wedding at Hotel Albuquerque.

    A Wedding Nightmare

We held our daughters wedding here and it fell so far below expectations in so many areas and basically ruined their special day. It was totally unacceptable on so many levels. The only upside is that it was a beautiful venue and the food was exceptional, what we got of it. However, the Hotel Albuquerque did not give us what we paid for and fast food places gave better service. One would have never known this was an upscale hotel.
It started the night before. You are promised a one hour rehearsal with the $2000 rental fee of the chapel and you are promised someone to work the equipment. However, there was no one to work the equipment so we could practice with the music so naturally the day of the wedding, the music did not go as the bride and groom had wished. Then there was the matter of the fruit and cheese trays that were to be served to the bride and groom’s dressing rooms, never happened. Then there is the hour of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres that ended up being 45 minutes with the hors d’oeuvres being put away early and the bride and groom and most of the wedding party not getting any. Then there was the matter of the tables being placed in the hot sun instead of under the pavilion which resulted in a guest fainting and many guests getting up and down to go inside or to their cars to cool off. When the bride and groom made their entrance the sun was directly in their eyes and there was no one around to help move the table so the groom and his friends moved their table. There was no staff available to even ask to move the other tables. The Sun issue later resulted in most of the guests leaving the wedding early due to being overheated and consequently not feeling well.
The BIGGEST disappointment was the wait staff. They were not only unfriendly and rude, they did not know how to wait tables and spoke little to no English. They had three wait staff for almost 70 people who were obviously not trained. They served the wrong food to the wrong people even though it was clearly marked on their place cards and they shorted us 5 steak dinners and said they were out of steak and left guests without food until we went and made them bring the guest an alternative meal. They skipped tables and didn’t bring them bread. And guests had to fight to get their food. Guests got up and got their own water because they were not refilling the water glasses. Which was totally unacceptable on a hot day. When it was time for the toast, guests were supposed to have champagne or sparkling cider. Many guests, more than I had originally thought were left without either, and some who wanted champagne got sparkling cider and visa versa. We would not recommend this venue. If we could, we would have given “0” stars for service.

I could never get any help!

My daughter is special needs and we are planning a wedding for next year. The marketing department for this venue is awful. They are off site and are terrible for responding and contacting us. Supposedly they only will set up appointments to visit the site M-F. We could never really get ahold of anyone except through email. We finally just gave up. There are plenty of other venues in town. Albuquerque is pretty big - why waste our time on this place. Yeah it's cute, it's old, it's nostalgic, but if is the way they are going to treat us up front - are they going to be this way through the entire preparation of the wedding? No thank you!! I'll pass.

Do not book hotel albuquerque! Run!

Do not give Hotel Albuquerque any of your money or consideration. Two weeks before my 200 person wedding, Hotel Albuquerque’s callous and uncaring staff informed me that they had booked our ballroom for another more profitable event, seven months after we signed a legally binding contract to reserve the ballroom. They offered no reasonable recourse - falsely “offering” a room which was only intended for 150 people, cramming more guests per table than comfortable or safe. When we explained how devastated we were, the Heritage Hotels President challenged us by repeatedly saying, “sue me” - which we are navigating now, but nothing will compensate us or our families for the stress, sadness, and betrayal of Hotel Albuquerque. My most important day was ruined by selfishness and desire for profit, and the courts only offer so much for consumers against big organizations such as Heritage Hotels. Throughout the legal process, Hotel Albuquerque has refused to show good faith and continues to bully me and my family, forcing us to endure an arduous legal battle. Hotel Albuquerque continues to withhold our deposit, despite the fact that they were the ones who cancelled the event, causing severe financial and emotional strain. A beautiful time in my life became tear stained and completely sleepless, as my focus was forced away from meaningful details to a lawsuit. My only choice now is to tell our story as many times as possible to as many people as possible so that others can avoid the heartache my family suffered.

This ballroom issue was obviously a huge and unforgivable action. The ballroom is the heart of my issue with Hotel Albuquerque. I will add a few issues I had with planning as well, just in case this was unconvincing:
    1) The wedding coordinator was unorganized and would not email back within 1-2 weeks (I had to follow up almost every time). At first, we were impressed by the person who was marketing the venue to us- but once the contract was signed, we were quickly passed off to a disinterested and uncaring staff member.
    2) The staff were unaccommodating for small requests (my partner and I are both active duty, and hotel ABQ would not work around our deployment schedule to plan a tasting… also, my grandmother can only eat well done steak, it took a week or two for us to fight for one well done steak)
    3) The food (we finally attended the tasting just a few weeks before the “wedding” that didn’t happen) was below average especially for the price
    4) Overall, since I have now unfortunately had the experience of working with all levels of Hotel Albuquerque and Heritage Hotel Staff, from coordinator to President the customer service is abysmal. Double booking a venue could be rectified many ways (i.e. by offering another hotel within Heritage Hotels or offering money to move the event elsewhere - something other hotels do when this issue arises), but Hotel Albuquerque didn’t have the decency to rectify the chaos they caused. They continue to make our lives miserable.
    5) Since this has happened, we have spoken with members of our ABQ community and within just a few days already heard of two similar instances of Hotel Albuquerque choosing profits over couples looking to get married.

Do yourself a favor, save yourself the heartache/headache, go literally anywhere else.

I called for over 2 months with the intention of booking my wedding with this venue. They never once called me back. I emailed, left 4 voice mails with the director and not a single call back.

My fiance and I had visited the hotel months prior for a showing and we fell in love with it. I called in, money in hand ready to have the wedding of our dreams. After not hearing back for over 2 months, I had a good cry and started looking again.

It wasn't until a wedding expo that I let them know what happened did they start to call me back.

We found the perfect spot. I guess things happen for a reason. I could only imagine how negligent they would have been had we hosted our wedding there.

I used to feel at home in this hotel, frequenting the restaurant and their patio however I will no longer give them my patronage since they couldn't give me the decency to even acknowledge a hopeful and later desperate bride. Side note: we had to delay our wedding date due to this.
