We are so happy we chose Honored Occasions and DJ Tony for our wedding day. From our first conversations through the final song of the night, Tony made the entire process feel organized, personal, and stress-free.

He took the time to really understand our preferences and helped guide us through each part of the ceremony and reception to select music that perfectly fit every moment. One of our favorite features was the easy-to-use online planning portal that connected directly with Spotify, making it simple to build playlists and organize music for every phase of the day.

DJ Tony also did an amazing job accommodating a special request for a family member to perform keyboard during the ceremony. He coordinated everything seamlessly and ensured the transitions between live and recorded music were flawless, which made the moment even more meaningful for our family.

Tony is professional, attentive, flexible, and genuinely passionate about creating a great experience for his couples and their guests. Our dance floor stayed full, the timing of the evening flowed perfectly, and so many guests commented on how wonderful the music was. We highly recommend Honored Occasions to anyone looking for an outstanding wedding DJ.

Luke was GREAT!

Luke from Honored Occasions was great. He was attentive and took the time to chat with us on more than one occasion to make sure our experience was smooth.

When we first booked with H.O we spoke with Steve. He was professional, knowledgable, and laid back. His confidence and warmth really came across. Exactly what you need in the midst of planning a wedding!

We also had a Jazz quartet and Luke worked with the band on all the transitions.

DJ Tony kept the party going!

Our wedding was perfect, and the Honored Occasions team was part of that success. From the initial overview meetings to the final playlists and requests, Tony made sure we felt supported all the way through. We were able to ensure the "must plays" were included and knew that Tony could take care of the rest. Our guests danced the entire night, and we had so much fun! Best Wedding EVER says every one of our guest

My Husband (love saying that) got married 10/12/24.
We used Honored Occasions for the photobooth (major hit) and their DJ services. We have DJ Tony who is bilingual (a must for our wedding). He did an amazing job DJing and playing MC at our wedding. Music choices and how they were mixed were perfect. He always helped with working in our mariachi band and making the transition smooth.

The assistant at the Photobooth was great to work with. She was really kind and was on top of assisting all guest.

Honored Occasions helped enhance our wedding experience and we are so thankful that they were referred to us!

Great DJ & MC for our wedding!

We hired Damon from Honored Occasions as our wedding DJ, and he exceeded our expectations. As a same-sex couple, we appreciated how welcoming Damon and Steve (the company owner) were from the start, making us feel comfortable and excited about our Disney-themed wedding.

Damon's communication and organization were excellent throughout the planning process. On the big day, he executed every cue perfectly, from our custom processional to the grand entrance music. He kept the dance floor packed and regularly checked in with us to ensure everything was going as planned. His announcements were clear and upbeat, making him an ideal MC.

We highly recommend upgrading to include their lighting setup, which enhanced the room and looked great in our photos.

If you're looking for an inclusive, talented, and easy-to-work-with DJ, we strongly recommend Honored Occasions. They played a crucial role in making our wedding day absolutely perfect. We wish we could give them more than five stars!

Honored Occasions is the Best!!!

My wife and I were looking for a wedding DJ that would be able to help bridge and blend our two families, and two cultures, together beautifully. Anthony was our DJ of choice, and from the beginning, he has been a consummate professional, responsive, proactive, attentive, and also fun! We both really appreciated his willingness to speak in both English and Spanish in his announcements to cater both to my wife's English speaking family and my Spanish speaking family. I could tell that my family really appreciated being included in that way. Tony was excellent, highly experienced, and knew how to host the entire night. We also had a live band at our wedding, and Tony worked with the band to help make our night special, knowing when to come in and out, and when to take turns with the band in a very seamless way. Overall, I cannot say enough how happy we were with Honored Occasions and Tony. Thank you, Honored Occasions, for making the best day of our lives a memory we will never forget!

sheer perfection

My now husband and I procrastinated badly and were only a month out from our wedding and had no DJ. Luckily, we found Honored Occasions and our DJ Martin and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Martin was the absolute consummate professional. He played exactly the type of music we wanted for our cocktail hour and used our spotify playlist for the reception as a jumping off point for an incredible dance party! He was a great host and transitioned between our speakers seamlessly and didn't miss a beat introducing the special dances. You're in really good hands with honored occasions.

Great DJ Service!

We had a great experience w/ Steve's company, Honored Occasions! Steve helped us book a DJ for our 40th High School Reunion, only a couple of weeks prior to our event. (We hadn't realized that our hotel didn't have a DJ on staff) Our DJ Martin was fantastic, played the songs/genres we requested & didn't do a lot of talking to our attendees, just as we desired (we wanted all music, all the time). He did a nice job of softer music during our earlier hours when people were chatting, then revving up the music for dancing later in the evening.

We'd use this company again - thanks Steve & Martin!

Thank you to Steven and the Honored Occasions team for making our wedding fun and personal! We hired Steve at the suggestion of our wedding planner, and he was perfect for us. He provided audio and music for our ceremony and reception, plus lighting for the reception. Steve took the time to get to know us and customize our day. The best of the best!

When it came time to choose our wedding dj, there was no one else we considered besides Steve and Honored Occasions. We wanted our guests dancing all night so picking the best dj was very important to us! Come the wedding day, Steve kept the flow of our reception and after party running perfectly. From the very first song, he had ALL of our guests on the dancefloor. Our guests still tell us that they have never seen so many people dance at a wedding before, which makes us so happy because that’s exactly what we wanted! Every song choice was perfect!

One of my favorite moments of the whole day was when Steve secretly recorded our vows from our ceremony and layed them over the intro to our last song. It was the sweetest surprise and the best way to end the night!

A Wonderful Experience

I had the pleasure of working with Tiffany (DJ Ruby Blue) when planning my wedding. She was a consummate professional that truly cared about my event! Because I had a number of unusual song requests (not the traditional Top 40 songs), Tiffany worked tirelessly to make sure she became familiar with the songs and incorporated them into my wedding seamlessly. In addition, she was always available to talk through any concerns or last minute changes. In fact, we were forced to change the location of our ceremony due to weather rather last minute, and Tiffany helped us work through some issues to make sure our ceremony went off without a hitch. I highly highly recommend considering hiring Tiffany for your wedding!

Awesome DJ! Full of energy and fun!

Honored Occasions did an amazing job on our wedding day (5/25/19)! Prior to the wedding day, Steve was extremely responsive to emails and coordinated Skype call to go over the details several weeks before the big day. I really appreciated the planning website that they used and their execution was flawless! Billy and I really liked how Steve was able to take the songs that we requested to play and make it flow throughout the night. He also had great energy introducing the wedding party and announcing the events of the night. The music that was played for the party/dancing was the best! We had a blast dancing the night away, all thanks to Honored Occasions!

Everything We Wanted and More!

We can’t recommend Honored Occasions highly enough! When my husband and I started planning our wedding, we had no idea how to find the right DJ for us. We did know we wanted someone AMAZING. Boy, did we get that and more! The wonderful Steve Shanahan walked us through the entire process, start to finish. Through thoughtful, detailed-oriented, and guiding questions, Steve helped us iron out what we wanted our perfect day to feel like. He was incredibly easy to work with, generously shared great advice from years of experience, and was the perfect DJ/Emcee for us! His attention to detail and personal touches made the whole evening so meaningful. Each song was chosen and timed masterfully, and every name was pronounced perfectly. No detail was missed. The night progressed as flawlessly as if it had been rehearsed a thousand times, and yet it felt spontaneous, in-the-moment, and authentic! We truly couldn’t believe the riot of fun our guests were having--and it was all thanks to Steve’s stunning ability to read a crowd. He is brilliant at what he does, unendingly kind, and very professional; I could go on and on! Anthony "DJ Tony" Hernandez was one of our very favorite vendors at our wedding! He was not only professional and personable, but he seemed to care even more than we did about making our music selection fine-tuned to please the guests and to fit us as a couple perfectly. The Honored Occasions team is awesome and so talented. They also very much care about your vision for your wedding day and every detail. We booked them for their lighting expertise and boy did they deliver. They transformed our ballroom with their pinspots. They highlighted our sweetheart table, cake table, dessert and other feature areas of the room. They made our event so elegant and the photos are amazing.

Ryan was a fantastic DJ for our reception! From the very start, in our planning meetings with him, he was always very professional. The software they use allowed us to customize the music selection as much as we wanted in the months leading up to the wedding. Ryan was always very quick to respond to emails and texts. He went the extra mile and helped us edit the audio file for our first dance, with a very fast turnaround. He did a great job of being connected with reception guests and during the last song of the night, when the late-nighters were huddled together on the dance floor singing our hearts out to Journey, he joined us! It was so much fun to have him on our wedding team!

Honored Occasions was the perfect choice for our wedding and reception, and we are so pleased with how everything turned out. We were very impressed with Ryan at our first meeting with him and he exceeded our expectations for our wedding day in every way. He and Steve were both so communicative through the planning process and follow up, and we felt we were always in great hands. We felt that every song choice was personalized and the genres and songs we had discussed wanting were all played at the perfect times and always kept the party going. Ryan is so charismatic and did an amazing job MC-ing our reception - the cherry on top was at our last song, where Ryan mixed our spoken vows from the ceremony over our last song choice, which was an amazing surprise! We had our wedding at the Nixon Library with Steve as our DJ and he was great! We were looking for a fun DJ and Steve definitely fit the bill. He was very responsive to emails and phone calls and made the entire process very easy for us. The online planning tool gave us plenty of freedom and time to enter our song requests.

Our guests also responded very well to Steve. His announcements were easy to understand and clear. He's also excellent at leading games. A highlight at our wedding was when he did a musical chairs scavenger hunt. Super fun for the guests!

Honestly, if you're looking for a fun and personable DJ, Steve is your guy. He truly cares about making the wedding a fun experience for the guests. He's not the guy that just plays music and that's it.

We utilized Honored Occasions for their photobooth, lighting, DJ, and emceeing services. We met Steve Shanahan and Jeanette Ong in person. Jeannette was the emcee for our wedding. She’s is very talented and multilingual! Our guests spoke English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. It was extremely helpful for our guests. We had one specific request, which was we wanted the emcee to announce our grand entrance as a sports announcer in the style of the Chicago Bulls entrance. We were so lucky that we also had Ryan Moore on our wedding day. He did an amazing job!!! Ryan and Jeanette interacted amazingly well with our guests! As an added plus, they were such great sports and were able to join us on the dance floor and even took hilarious photos at the photo booth with us. They’re the best decision you can make for your audio and visual needs for your wedding.

We worked with Steve Shanahan through Honored Occasions and had the best reception ever! Nine months later, we still have guests expressing to us how much fun they had at our wedding and how the music was perfect. We had a unique interfaith wedding and Steve took care of everything for us and asked questions about details we didn't even think about. We told Steve we wanted to throw a party that no one would forget and he definitely provided. I had friends and family on the dance floor that I haven't seen even dance! Steve was very professional and encouraging throughout the planning process. He listened to every detail and works a lot through the bride and groom online portal so we were able to add songs to the "Must Have" or "Never Play" lists at home whenever they popped into our minds. Steve was so great at anticipating the crowd and adjusting to the vibe of the night. We were blown away by his talent.

Ryan was extremely professional and attentive—asking questions about our story and patiently listening to the very specific vision my husband and I had for the wedding. Ryan’s confidence and passion for his craft gave us the reassurance that he would turn our vision to reality.

On the wedding day, Ryan was punctual, approachable and SO MUCH FUN! I had three choreographed dances (accompanied by song mashups) and he hit all the cues without a hitch—there were no awkward moments or technical difficulties thanks to Ryan. We had games and events throughout the reception and he made sure to check in with us to ensure everything ran smoothly. Ryan kept the dance floor crowded all night, and I remember seeing everyone from my parent’s friends (who would never be caught on a dance floor!) to small children dancing away. His MC’ing was tasteful and not at all cheesy; my husband and I have had multiple people tell us how incredible our DJ was. I also want to mention his assistant, Jonathan, who helped keep the night going and the dance floor full. Ryan won't be someone who just speaks into a mic and pushes buttons on his laptop—he is someone who brings his A-game and gives 200%. My only regret is that I didn’t get to thank him in front of all the guests! THANK YOU Ryan and Honored Occasions for turning our vision to reality! Our guests are still talking about the wedding and it’s thanks to Ryan.

Ryan was easily the best DJ we have ever worked with. I have been to a lot of weddings and Ryan was the best. He was respectful of our time, constantly communicating with us till the big day. On the wedding day he made sure we felt comfortable and ready to go. Throughout the wedding he made sure everything that happened was run through by us. He was an amazing MC and kept the wedding moving and exciting. There wasn't any down time and he even came and did some dancing with us. I would recommend Ryan 1000 times for any kind of event. My husband and I chose to have an outdoor wedding reception at The Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica and needed to outsource lighting and A/V. We were put in touch with Steve Shanahan from our photographer and immediately we knew we were in the best of hands and decided to work with him.

And I am SO glad we did! As the wedding planner of our wedding, working with Steve was an absolute pleasure. His quick response times, professionalism, and vast experience in wedding services helped us in planning a beautiful outdoor reception. When we were all done with planning lighting and A/V we decided to also have him as our entertainment guru, which turned out to be the best decision we made in the planning process. And let me tell you why...

The week leading up to our wedding there was rain of course in the forecast. Steve and I were on the phone every other day playing through scenarios and even up until the day of our wedding Steve was available for advice. The morning of the wedding, there was still rain in the forecast and Steve showed up to our venue with two plans in place for an outdoor reception and another plan for an indoor reception. Luckily the forecast cleared and we got to have the outdoor reception that we dreamed of. That is until the forecast turned into a crazy windstorm and our guests were freezing cold!!! Within 25 minutes, Honored Occassions helped facilitate along with the banquets staff at the Fairmont an indoor dance party, which was the absolute best part of our night. Ryan was our DJ and he not only played great music, he played a huge part in making this "best day ever" happen for us. We have received endless compliments from our guests about how beautiful and more importantly how fun our wedding night was and I truly owe it all to Steve, Ryan and Honored Occassions for making our night go on without a hitch.

We worked with Steve from Honored Occasions for our wedding in March. We were planning our wedding from Northern California and he was extremely easy to work with. During our initial meeting he really listened to our random requests, and was very communicative and flexible with changes that were made prior to the day.
Steve was one of the best DJ's we've heard at any wedding we've been to. EVERYONE was on the dance floor! It was so nice to see everyone having a good time and we know that he had brought the energy to our group. We would recommend him to anyone planning an event!

Ryan was our DJ and we couldn't be happier! From our first meeting, I knew that he was our guy! He was incredibly professional, friendly, and totally accommodating. Steve was the DJ for our wedding, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s always responsive throughout the planning process and he gave us so many great suggestions in picking songs. His music choices during the reception were also fantastic. Everyone had a great time at the wedding. Steve is absolutely amazing! My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect DJ for our wedding or for better reception lighting. Steve was incredibly professional and outgoing from the moment we first met him, so we knew he would be the perfect fit for our big day. This is one of the easiest reviews I’ve ever written (if you want to skip the details, just go ahead and hire Ryan Moore from Honored Occasions, he’s fantastic).

We live in Texas, have never been married before, and we needed a DJ to perform our wedding in Laguna Beach. With everything else going on, the last thing we wanted to be nervous about was the music.

We hired Ryan and he took care of everything we asked of him. I was very specific on what music we wanted—and didn’t want—and he was loyal to our requests. Even when some of our guests begged and pleaded to play songs we hate, Ryan was the most diplomatic DJ I’ve ever encountered, denying their requests in a way that made them smile (which made us smile).

On top of arranging, mixing, and providing the music, Ryan was also there to guide us through the evening (again, it was our first time and in the moment it can be easy to forget what’s coming next). Ryan made everything smooth. We could relax knowing he would take care of everything in a way that exceeded our expectations. We could enjoy the happiest day of our lives because we made the decision to hire a true professional.

I am a picky, stubborn perfectionist who is very difficult to please. Ryan never disappointed, he gave us a perfect night and made it seem effortless. Do yourself a favor. Stop looking for a DJ. Hire Ryan. Thank me later.

Steve and his team are great! This is the second wedding he has done for our family, first my sister's and now mine! He's like part of the family. Steve was honestly THE BEST!!! Jenna from Engaged Events referred us to him & he was so accommodating. We got married in Del Mar & he was able to work with our band & step in when they took their breaks...and then be our DJ downstairs for dancing. He also emceed our grand entrance. We spoke before our big day & went over what type of songs & music we liked...and then I let him do the rest of the work. He played an array of different music & the dance floor was NEVER empty (which was one of my concerns - I hate empty dance floors at weddings). Steve was amazing! We had a hard time finding a DJ since they play such a pivotal role is the flow of your wedding. Since he's worked at the Center Club before he was familiar with the venue so that was a relief. My wife and I could not have been more please with Steve and Honored Occasions for our wedding! Steve is one of the nicest guys you'll meet! He's is extremely professional and personal, but his best quality is that he LISTENS TO THE CLIENT! My wife and I had a very complete and detailed list of songs we wanted played during the wedding reception. We broke it down into songs for seating, music during dinner service, late night, etc... We went over everything with him, and explained the feel that we wanted the wedding to have. He gave us his input and suggestions, but never just dismissed what we wanted. He tailored everything he did that night to our specific needs and desires. It couldn't have been more perfect. Steve was absolutely fantastic at our wedding! While planning the wedding, my mother and I had been disagreeing about whether to have a DJ or a live band. We ended up going the DJ direction with Honored Ocassions and were incredibly happy with the results. Steve was an excellent announcer and brought lots of energy and excitement when my bridal party and my groom and I made our grand entrance. During dinner he kept everything very classy and elegant. Later on, after dinner, he had the arduous task of combining American/Latin/European music to keep everyone both young and old happy! I am happy to say he nailed it and kept the energy flowing the whole night. Steve showed an incredible amount of professionalism, but at the same time, looked like he was having a good time too!

Honored Occasions came highly recommended from our wedding planner Katie (Intertwined Events) and we're so glad we listened to her! Steve was such a pleasure to work with and he did a fantastic job with our music (ceremony and reception) and lighting. He paid attention to our music requests and was a fantastic DJ! We had an amazing dance party at the reception and he was great about keeping the energy up! We didn't want a DJ who was too heavy on the mic and he respected our request. The lighting was very tasteful and professional in the ballroom and we were very happy with how it all looked.

Steve also did a great job coordinating with the sound technician from Terranea to make sure we were properly set up with two mics for our two officiants during the ceremony. The sound quality was very important to us and he did a great job making sure everyone could hear everything.

He was very pleasant and professional to work with and we highly recommend Honored Occasions!

Steve, the owner, was absolutely the best choice for us. He used our music list preferences, he kept our audience very entertained and kept the evening flowing. He followed our specific requests to the letter. Our ceremony music was perfectly timed, and everything was the right volume. The music for our reception was beautiful and not obnoxiously loud like in some receptions. He worked with our other vendors seamlessly. He was perfect for all ages and seems to really take cues from what is happening with the ebb and flow of events. We were so pleased with this vendor choice and you will be too! People were on the dance floor until the last dance at our Sunday wedding!

My son was getting married and I wanted him and his wife to have the most awesome wedding ever. We hired Justin to be our DJ, and weeks later I am still hearing from people that this was the best wedding they had ever been to! Justin had people on the dance floor the whole entire time the reception was going. My daughter had a wedding five years ago in this same venue and we wanted my son's to be just as incredible. His turned out better, only because Justin was so way better than the DJ we had at my daughter's wedding. The DJ can make or break a wedding. We were recently at one and hardly anyone danced the whole evening. Even those people said our wedding was the best they had been too. A DJ can make or break your event. Justin definitely made ours the best!!! It is so awesome to hear from people that your wedding was the best they had ever been to!!

Steve and Angela were perfect in every way. I could not have chosen a better company for our wedding. We got so many compliments on the music and the room looked incredible decked out in subtle lighting with our initials on the dance floor. They were flexible with our schedule as we had to move a bunch of things around but they always kept us in the loop. Best choice we made.

Honored occasions was the best choice we made for our wedding. Our DJ Justin was amazing. He knew exactly what to play and when. Our guests had a blast and we received nothing but compliments about Justin. Everyone told us over and over that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and a huge part of that was due to our DJ Justin. Justin was professional and very much in charge. He kept us right on track the whole night and even brought us breath mints after dinner when it was time for us to make our rounds with our guests. It was small things like that, that amazed me even more. Justin even seemed to enjoy himself all night and showed us and our guest a few moves. You can't go wrong with honored occasions and Justin.

Steve was so amazing leading up to and on the day of our wedding. He made our day so special and we can never thank him enough. He was patient, on top of everything, and extremely entertaining!! Our venue, unfortunately, turned into a small disaster near the end (especially the "day of planner") but he kept it afloat and we are so grateful that he were there. Steve really stepped up and went above and beyond and we really appreciated that. We plan to recommend him to everyone we know, he truly is gifted and extremely compassionate.

Honored Occasions did an amazing job for our wedding. Martin was our DJ and we loved him! He was extremely professional, respectful, reliable and just a great person to do business with. He went out of his way to meet with us beforehand and really worked hard to understand what we wanted for our special day. He was great at offering suggestions and really helped us figure out what we wanted for music, announcements, order of events, etc. On the day of, he really got our guests dancing with perfect choices of music and even joined them on the dance floor to teach them a few dances. Many of guests commented afterward that they loved our DJ and thought he did a phenomenal job of keeping the fun going and the feet dancing. I would highly recommend Martin / Honored Occasions. I am so, so happy we chose Honored Occasions for our wedding. Throughout the entire process, Steve was fun, friendly and professional, and incredibly helpful when it came to ideas and suggestions for our reception. I especially appreciated that we could chat over Skype to finalize details. Our vision was for a fresh, modern dance party and he more than delivered! Steve was great to work with! He was recommended through our wedding planner and we could not have asked for a better DJ! He worked with us on finding music, made the process very quick and painless, and kept our guests dancing all night long. We still get feedback almost a year later that he kept a great party going at the reception. If you want your guests to have fun and dance, definitely think of Steve at Honored Occasions!

I was thrilled with the level of care and support I got from Honored Occasions -- specifically, DJ Steve Shanahan -- as well as the incredible job they did at my wedding. First, Steve was in regular contact with us leading up to the wedding, making sure he knew what we wanted. He also did a great job of guiding us through what to expect at our wedding. On the day of, Steve was beyond phenomenal. From music selection, to lighting, to MC'ing the reception, Steve made sure the night was a success. The music selection was great, and Steve displayed a tremendous awareness of what songs were appropriate for given situations. He has an amazing ability to make sure guests of all ages and backgrounds are having a great time. Our wedding was on a Sunday night and my husband and I were concerned no one would dance. That didn't happen. Steve had the entire dance floor hoping all night. We had a ton of song request (kinda odd ones too) and he played them all and at the right time. We did meet with him several times to go over what we wanted and we felt more comfortable every time we left. He dealt with my crazy mom and her requests and always had advice to what to do when the "family" got all drama. We both agreed the DJ is the most important person for the wedding and we got lucky and found Steve. They do lighting and photo booth but we only booked the lighting but it really made a difference. We almost skimped on the DJ and hired someone cheaper and we are glad we didn't. Steve is worth every penny

Justin and Steve made my wedding unforgettable! The cake lighting was amazing, the wall lighting was fabulous, and Justin kept everyone dancing until the end. Everyone was giving compliments about how great the DJ was and how beautiful the cake looked. Honored Occasions was fantastic!

We absolutely loved Steve from Honored Occasions. He very easily understood what the vision for our wedding was and boy did he deliver. The music was great and the crowd danced all night long, a total shocker to us!! The lighting was wonderful too an created a wonderful and warm atmosphere, exactly as we wished it would be. Our previous experience while interviewing DJs for our wedding had been that many of them were schmoozy and a little creepy. But when we met Steve Shanahan with Honored Occasions at a bridal expo, we were immediately struck by how nice and professional he was.

We got a fantastic deal because we also booked his photobooth and we were able to add a lighting package as well. Having one company take care of three different services took some of the pressure off the planning process. I felt he gave us an honest recommendation about what a party of our size would require and he didn’t push additional up-sells for the sake of a higher bill.

He responded to my emails quickly which may not have been easy for him because they were constant. :) He was great at walking us through the planning of our reception events and had suggestions for us when we weren’t sure what we wanted.

At the reception, he acted as coordinator of events, letting us know what was going on and when it would happen, which made it so easy to sit back and enjoy our party. He played the music we liked and was responsive to song requests. He also had a great attitude and kept the energy going without being obnoxious. The lighting looked beautiful and many guests told us afterward how much fun they had with the photobooth.

I would absolutely recommend Steve to anybody who is looking for a DJ and/or lighting and/or photobooth services.

We had our wedding at Surf and Sand Resort and hired Steve from Honored Occasions to provide the DJ, lighting and a really fun photo booth. Steve met with us and we fell in love with him and his personality. He was fun (but not cheesy) and knew he would truly compliment our wedding style. He was always available to answer my questions and even skyped my fiance for all the planning meetings as he lives in Colorado. Once he found out that was fiance was in the military he offered a discount without me asking for it. They were more expensive than other DJ's but well worth the price.

Honored Occasions provided all of our lighting for our wedding. I was incredibly impressed with them from the start. They were professional, reliable and very easy to work with. They went above and beyond and the pricing was reasonable. The lights looked great the day of our wedding and our wedding pictures are incredible because of it. We has color changing lights so when the band was playing the lights were in sync with the music. I would absolutely recommend them to my friends and family.

We hired Mike from Honored Occasions for our wedding and it was perfect. We wanted a DJ that was outgoing and got our guests involved dancing the night away. He went out of his way to make sure that we were getting everything we needed for the events and checked in on us several times. Everyone was on the dance floor from the moment the wedding started until the last song and he worked hard to ensure that we were informed every step of the way. He knew what would and wouldn't work at what moments and was able to work in a lot of guest requests (which we wanted). We can't say enough about Honored Occasions.

Honored Occasions did an amazing job with our wedding. Jim played an integral role in building our reception timeline. He listened to our requests, and then built upon them and made our grand entrance, plus the entire night, so memorable that our families and friends are still raving about him! I Cannot imagine our night without his help and his ability to keep everyone on the dance floor and entertained. Jim did a great job with the balancing act of keeping everything running smoothly, and not being overbearing or cheesy in any way.

I wish there were more stars on the rating system to convey my depth of gratitude for HO and specifically Steve Shanihan. He was an amazing DJ and MC for our wedding. What I most valued in Steve:
-his planning and prep prior to the wedding--we spent hours together discussing music choices, scheduling, and any other pieces that came up in the planning
-Steve was great at informing me of what to expect and offered suggestions on how to make my wedding run more smoothly
-he is a great balance of warmth and professionalism
-he doublechecked everything (my slideshow and music selection) before the wedding to make sure there were no glitches
-the day of the wedding he ran the schedule smoothly, he played all the music we requested, he consulted with me throughout the evening to ensure we were happy with the event

Everything about Honored Occasions was fabulous. Our first meeting with the owner Steve was great. Our DJ, Martin, did more than play songs. He got everyone up and dancing and everyone had a really good time. If you are getting married, book these guys. You won't be disappointed. Also, if your budget allows, get the photo booth. We were referred to Steve from Honored Occasions by our amazing wedding coordinator Katie from Intertwined Events. the fact that she used him for her own brother's wedding is an excellent indicator. Due to my then-fiance work schedule, Steve never got to meet with him during the planning process but that was NOT a deterrent to a fun, memorable wedding. He sent us plenty of questionnaires to get to know us. It was an Indian-Vietnamese wedding that caused us a whole lot of stress planning but Steve weaved the 2 cultures expertly without offending either side and the night was as smooth as butter! The older generation (by old, i mean in their 80's and 90's) stayed till the very end to enjoy the night and the happy atmosphere that Steve and his team provided.

Music: Steve, we love you!!! our friends and family LOVE to dance and Steve did not disappoint. the transition between songs were smooth, the music was exactly what we were hoping for and we were sad when the night was over :( we kept getting "thanks for throwing a bitchi%* party" as people were leaving

Lighting: WOW! this was exactly what guests uttered when they entered our reception hall. I was pretty much leaving this up to the expert (steve) and was pleasantly surprised!

All in all, our wedding day was the BEST EVER thanks in no small part to Steve!!!

Steve and his team are so professional and provide such an amazing comfort level that when the "Big Day" arrives you know you are in good hands. He handled everything so well and all of our guests loved him as much as we did. We had quite a party and Steve was responsible for that, he kept the entire evening on track. The Bride & Groom had a fabulous time and were so thankful for his guidance on the planning and the atmosphere he created. Steve over delivers. He is a very professional and dedicated DJ. He showed early and set everything up faster than expected. His great attitude, music selection and MC style kept everyone happy, dancing and having a great time. His style was not dominating or intrusive in the least. His dedication to our wishes and a specific timeline for the evening were, without a doubt, perfect. A good DJ brings life to a party, a great DJ creates memorable moments. Steve does both. Steve with Honored Occasions was awesome. He was professional, fun, attentive to our wedding needs, played all the right music at the right time, and kept the evening running smoothly. He is in no way a "Cheesey DJ" and he made the evening a central focus on my husband and I. The photo booth was awesome as well. I have been to other weddings with photo booths and the quality of the pics were not as good as ours. Plus we got to keep a flash drive of all the pics. Steve also provided uplighting to the ballroom which looked fabulous. I would use Steve again in a heartbeat for another venue or reccomend him to another couple for their wedding.

Jim did an amazing job at our wedding!! The guests couldn't believe how much of a difference a good DJ can make. He kept the party going until the very last song. He showed up on time, kept everything on the time frame he gave us, and everything went perfectly.

We had Honored Occasions do our lighting and DJ it couldn't have been any better. Our guests danced all night long thanks to the DJ. We had a mix of people from 5 years old to my 85 year old grandparents who danced (and stayed to the very end). Steve was our DJ (I think he is one of the owners) and we knew from the get go this was going to be a party. He is worth EVERY PENNY! My advice to any brides, don't go cheap on the DJ, they will make or break your wedding. They have a nice office, friendly staff and even a room where they do color demos for our lighting (which made my parents appreciate the lighting) A+ -- 5 Stars all the way!

We used Steve from Honored Occasions who was amazing! He met with us at his office and asked us questions about how we met and what we wanted for the wedding. They had so many great ideas for us to make sure we had all the information. This was the best money we could have ever spent because not only did he MC and DJ he also helped us plan the wedding reception. We met several times to go over the timeline but on the wedding day, Tim and I had no stress whatsoever. Things were perfect. I can't recommend Steve and the entire team at Honored Occasions. In fact, we just went to a wedding in December where another one of the partners was the DJ (Mike) and he did an equally good job.

My wife and I got married on October 15th this year. Steve Shanahan with Honored Occasions was the DJ at our reception. He did an impeccable job!! The music selection and song layout was exactly what we wanted and our guests had a great time dancing the night away. He even provided the mood lighting that made the reception room look stunning. Steve was very nice and professional from start to finish and was extremely easy to work with. Lisa and I highly recommend Honored Occasions and we will definitley use Steve again in the future.
