Amazingly Delicious!

Our wedding venue partners with Homestyle Desserts, and thank goodness they do! We loved our take home tasting, which allowed us to have a fun unexpected date night, while taste testing some amazing cakes! We also took a number of other delicious treats home, because it was impossible not to.

They delivered our cake timely the day of the wedding, and it was exactly as ordered, and just as delicious as we remembered!!! We wanted something classic and simple, and it was truly perfect.

I know you're supposed to save the top of your cake for the first anniversary, but we couldn't help ourselves and have been enjoying it all this week, and plan to get a fresh one each year to celebrate! Just an excuse for more delicious cake!

Fantastic cake!

We got our cake through a package at Chalet on the Hudson. It felt a bit risky agreeing to a bakery before having tried it, but since it was included, we went with it. I'm so glad we did! The cake was fantastic. It tasted like great old-school bakery cake. We got a black and white cake. People actually talked about how good the cake was and we can't wait to have some again for our anniversary. Highly recommend Homestyle Desserts.

Wedding cake

Our wedding cake was delicious!! The cake tasting was super quick and easy and they made our cake exactly how we wanted it! Everyone loved it!

Karla who works with Homestyle made our cake. It was STUNNING. White birch with our initials on the front and on the back a DRAGON (a surprise for our subtle Game of Thrones theme wedding). Not only was the cake design on point but the cake tasted delicious. So many guests complimented the cake saying just that, that usually it looks nice but doesn't take good or vice versa. Thank you Karla and Homestyle for making our dream cake!

Our wedding cake was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Homestyle was recommended to us by our reception venue and they could not have been easier to work with. The tasting was fun and the employees were professional and responsive. Usually the cake at weddings is just so-so. This cake however...everyone is still talking about how it melted in their mouth! We ordered the double chocolate temptation cake with cheesecake filling. Ohhh so good!!

We LOVED our Wedding Cake! We went with the "people pleaser" and it sure did live up to its name... my guests RAVED over the cake. Normally a cake either looks good or tastes good... but in this case it looked BEAUTIFULLY elegant and tasted DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this bakery for a HIGH QUALITY GREAT TASTING FABULOUS LOOKING Wedding Cake!

Homestyle Bakery made our wedding cake for our wedding at Ceola Manor earlier this month and it came out amazing! Our cake tasting was delicious a few months ago and they created the cake exactly how we wanted. I would absolutely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a wedding cake!

They were able to do pretty much whatever we wanted. Our cake was delicious, and looked exactly like what my wife had asked for. One short consultation/tasting, and they had everything they needed. The cake arrived on time, looking and tasting great. Not sure what more one could ask for.

I am not a huge fan of cake in general, but when I tried Homestyle desserts bakery - they CONVERTED ME!!! My fiance and I went to the tasting on a sunday morning, and there was a line out the door for their bakery goods. That was the first good sign that we chose the right bakery. The tasting was quick & easy. We looked through a book of cake designs and immediately fell in love with one of them. Rose then brought out a plate full of cakes for us to try... For someone like me who doesn't like cake I wasn't looking forward to this part... but to my pleasant surprise, I LOVED EVERY CAKE I TRIED... I loved it so much it was hard for us to pick which one!!! We ended up picking chocolate cake with chocolate moose filling AND vanilla cake with cannoli filling. It was the best of both worlds so everyone could have a flavor they enjoy. On our wedding day, the cake was exactly like the photo we picked - simply beautiful... and the taste was even better than i remember!!! All my guests loved our cake as well as the Italian cookies we placed at every table. I recommend this bakery for wedding cakes, for any baked goods, for BBQ deserts...for everything!!!... your mouth will thank you!!!

most delicious wedding cake EVER! (and I don't even usually eat cake!) Easy to work with, make an appointment, taste some cake, pick a style from their book (or bring a photo of what you like) and done! These peeps know their business! The most delicious cake will be delivered hassle free to your wedding.

The cake was done exactly as discussed. They even sent me pictures of the flowers done different ways for us to pick which one we wanted. The cake was delicious! We wish the bakery was closer to our home because we would use them all the time.

We ordered our wedding cake from Homestyle Bakery. I went into our initial meeting with a lot of ideas, but I didn't know how to make them all work together. Homestyle Bakery took everyone of my ideas and turned them into a beautiful design. When the cake arrived at the wedding, I was blown away. Every detail was meticulous and perfect. ...and it tasted amazing too! I can't wait to eat the top tier on our anniversary!

I absolutely loved my wedding cake!! We chose a vanilla cake with strawberry cheesecake filling. It was delicious. We have been to weddings where the cake was gorgeous but not very tasty at all. This was definitely not the case at our wedding. Our guests still tell us about how much they loved our cake 3 months later. The bakers were great to work with and they created a beautiful cake, it was exactly what I wanted. There is a reason this Bakery has been around for so long. Great business.

Best bakery ever!!!! We had the strawberry cheesecake fling for our wedding cake and it was absolutely delicious. It was decorated exactly the way I wanted it, it was beautiful. My guests still talk about how good our cake was and our wedding was 3 months ago. You won't go wrong with this bakery.

We got married on August 16th, 2014 at The Chalet On The Hudson. Our Wedding Cake came from Homestyle Desserts Bakery in Peekskill where we live and it was absolutely delicious! We had prior experience with Homestyle as I had ordered my Grandmother's 90th Birthday Cake from there two years prior. For the Wedding Cake, we decided on the Strawberry Double Temptation which has two layers of sponge cake filled with cheesecake and strawberries topped with whipped cream. It was amazing! We received so many compliments on the cake afterwards. It was very nicely decorated in our colors of blue & purple; with ribbons and hydrangeas. The owner and staff at Homestyle are extremely nice and very helpful in assisting you to decide on decorating options. I would definately recommend them for weddings, parties, specialty cakes, etc.

Delicious! The food tasting is welcoming and wonderful. I was a little worried at the beginning because you are forced to pick your cake out of a book HOWEVER, they have INCREDIBLE choices AND will work with you to customize it as needed. Everyone raved about how amazing the cake tasted and looked. It really was mouthwatering.

We got our wedding cake from this bakery. It was absolutely delicious. The tasting was good too. The staff was very nice and helpful. They have a wonderful website with samples of wedding cakes to look at.

We had to use Homestyle Bakery, as part of our venue package but I would recommend them to anyone! The cake was DELICIOUS and looked exactly how I wanted. We worked directly with the owner, Rose, who was so easy and accomodating. I showed her a picture and she's like no problem, I can do that. And she did. It came out perfectly! She was so helpful and friendly!

When I met with Rose at the bakery she was so friendly and easy to work with...they designed a cake based on my vine with leaf invitation...it came out amazing and tasted amazing too!

The perfect cake

Homestyle Desserts Bakery did a beautiful job on our wedding cake! Homestyle was one of the bakeries we could use as part of our wedding package with the Thayer Hotel. We chose Homestyle because of their flexibility: we were able to mix and match many different flavor options to make a cake that was delicious and unique! The cake tasting process was easy, fun, and delicious. The staff were all extremely kind and excited to help. The cake was delivered the day of without issue and was gorgeous. Highly recommend Homestyle for any event!

Highly Recommended!

Our wedding was over a month ago and all anyone can still talk about is how delicious our cakes were! The bakery was super easy to work with over the phone since we live far away, and was even able to accommodate an order for 100 cookies last minute (two days before the wedding). Amazing, delicious treats and great people!

Julie and Homestyle Desserts Bakery were TOP NOTCH. We used them through Inn Credible Caterers for our Brotherhood Winery Wedding and they were fantastic. The cake tasting was one of our favorite things to do. Every flavor was delicious and the combinations were varied and dynamic. We took a risk going with carrot cake & cream cheese filling for half but then went traditional with vanilla cake and custard with strawberry for the other half. I truly don't know which we liked better. We wanted a simple yet elegant cake and that is what we got but some of their examples are truly remarkable and out of this world. There's a reason our "inn credible" caterers only work with this bakery! We saved the top of our cake for our one-year anniversary, but I have a feeling we'll be putting an order in for a fresh cake come November 4, 2018!

We got our cake as part of our package with our venue, so I can't speak to value really. But our cake was gorgeous and delicious! We did the yellow cake with strawberry cheesecake filling, but we tried several options and all were very yummy.

The photos on their website have fresh flowers and ribbons on the cake, but time (I left the cake decisions till the last minute) did not really permit me to arrange for those or for a cake topper. So instead they made cream flowers for no extra charge which we loved. It really looked beautiful.

We got our cake as part of the package through Bear Mountain and were a bit hesitant because overall we wanted out cake to taste amazing and didn't want a sheet cake. We visited Homestyle and they were unbelievably nice and had a line out the door of customers! Our cake was beautiful, they matched the flower colors to our wedding colors and it tasted fabulous. Definitely a must use, for a wedding cake or even as a bakery.

Please note that many of the ratings do not apply in this review: our venue works with Homestyle Desserts Bakery to do their wedding cakes. As such, I didn't work directly with them other than during the cake tasting, and we didn't have to pay them. This review is mostly based on the quality of the cake.

We went with the "People Pleaser" cake (although at the tasting, they were all delicious). It has layers of vanilla cake, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and cannoli cream, so there really is something for everyone. They had a large variety of sample designs to choose from and the one we picked was executed really well on the final product. Many of our guests said the cake was delicious (although admittedly I was too busy dancing to have my own piece!), and it seemed very fresh.

My only qualm is that part of the design included ribbon, which we were tasked with providing to the bakery. I sent the ribbon with ample time and never heard back from the bakery, so I assumed they had received it. When I saw my cake at the reception it didn't have any ribbon on it. It's a small issue and the cake looked beautiful without it so I didn't really mind, but I wish I would have gotten a follow-up (a quick "hey we haven't gotten your ribbon yet") just so that I could have either re-sent it or have been prepared for a ribbonless cake.

*Side note: we also got some bakery cookies to go while we were doing the cake tasting, and they were all really, really good.

I'm not a big cake fan but I got a chocolate cheesecake wedding cake from Homestyle and it was absolutely delicious! They also did a great job decorating in the autumn theme I requested. Amazing job!

Great dessert and wedding cake!

We got our wedding cake and plated desserts from Homestyle and everything was delicious. We made custom trays that included traditional as well as fun pastries and cookies, and they worked with us to balance them out. Our cake was delicious and we were really pleased with everything we ordered from them!

We started out thinking we would just do a token cake and then have donuts. Once we had our cake tasting, we decided to get a four tier cake and then some because it would be a crime not to serve each of our guests a slice of that deliciousness.
My fiancé hates carrot cake. But he loved Homestyle's.
We are going with something they call the people pleaser which is yellow cake with cannoli filling and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. All served in one slice.
I would kill for this cake.

Got a delicious wedding cake from Homestyle. We were a pretty simple cake but they were able to change the color of the frosting to match our theme and the cake tasted delicious. What more could we ask for!

My venue, Clubhouse at Patriot Hills, already contracted with this bakery so I didn't get to choose them myself but nonetheless they were excellent. The cake was beautifully decorated and was extremely delicious. My guests were extremely happy with our cake selection. I would recommend their services.

Our venue had a partnership with Homestyle Desserts Bakery, so we only had to pay extra for the special design we wanted, which was $150.

My fiance basically created the cake--it was vanilla cake, cheesecake, raspberry preserves and chocolate cake.

The design was suppose to be an eatable map (travel themed wedding). When we saw the cake, something like a map was on it, but it wasn't close to the pictures we had discussed in the meeting. It looks like they didn't end up using the eatable paper, and just made a clump of land and water with blue and green icing.

It tasted great, but the look wasn't the vision.

Our cake was amazing! I was just annoyed that when I called and asked to make sure things were all set for the wedding, the women rushed me off the phone without verifying who I was. But other than that, the cake was phenomenal!

We worked with Homestyle for our wedding cake because Patriot Hills worked with them and our cake was included in the cost. When I called to make my cake tasting appointment I was somewhat disappointed with the customer service I received. The woman on the phone was not exactly welcoming and I had to give my information several times; as if she wasn't paying attention.

The day of, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of baked goods in the bakery. Everything looked delicious! We had to wait a little while for our appointment as the previous one ran late. When my husband and I finally sat down we were told to look through the books for a cake. The woman was not the most friendly and only really answered questions I asked rather than explaining what was included or what was extra from the start.

The cakes in the books were beautiful; however, I had to push past feeling a little pressured to pick one that I liked and looked through about 4 of 5 books until I found one. Once decided on the style, the woman brought about 6 slices of cake on one plate, named them all in one shot and walked away. We couldn't remember the names of the cakes and she didn't return for a bit to ask her.

Despite my uneasy feeling when we left the bakery, the day of our wedding the cake was one time and in place at our reception. It was beautiful and looked exactly like the picture we had chosen and they had used the ribbon I mailed to them for the cake. On top of looking beautiful, it tasted delicious. We can't wait to cut into it at our one year anniversary!

If you can get over mediocre customer service then I would definitely suggest Homestyle. We were very happy with the final product.

Unfortunately the custom design we requested for our wedding cake did not come out as we had specified. The cake was still beautiful and was definitely delicious! I would use caution if requesting something a bit more unique or custom, you would probably be better off choosing one of the options they are more familiar with creating.

My caterer gets the cake through them so I don't think I had any choice but to go with Homestyle Bakery. Two different people I spoke to at Homestyle were rude and not very helpful. I sent them pictures of what I wanted my cake to look like and received no response. So I called them to follow-up and when I spoke to someone over the phone I was told it shouldn't be a problem. My actual wedding cake did not look like the ones in the pictures. However, the cake was delicious. Not mind-blowing but delicious for a wedding cake. If you are dealing with this bakery for your wedding cake, keep in mind that they are NOT responsive with emails. Suggested way to deal with them is via phone.
