I loved HF&GC!! Joy was so easy to work with and that helped immensley. Clean, reasonably priced, and being able to set up the fay before made everything so much easier. The scenory was gorgeous and that never hurts. I'd recommend this venue to anyone.

Joy with the Holland Fish & Game Club is wonderful to work with. She gave me her personal number and always answers when I text random questions throughout the day. The venue is cost effective and its so nice to be able to bring in your own vendors for catering and DJ's, etc. This is the most laid back venue I could find

The Holland Fish and Game Club was so wonderful! Nancy, who was the contact to book the venue, was soooo nice. I could not have been happier, she was available to answer questions whenever needed. I called her multiple times to ask about last minute things and she always spoke with a smile in her voice and was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place, it is gorgeous! The only thing I wish I would have done is put something up on the dance floor so I didn't have vents in my wedding pictures. The Game Club has invested in adding lights and tulleing to the ceiling and it really added to the atmosphere of the night. Two thumbs way up!

Nancy and Holland Fish and Game Club has been a pleasure to work with! She has accommodated all of our last minute plan changes and has always called us back in a timely manner. We have found that 9 times out of 10 you have to leave a voicemail for her but she promptly returns the call with answers. The venue is beautiful and such a blank slate to allow to decorate however you wish. Wonderful experience!

What a beautiful place, the landscape is just gorgeous. Nancy was so wonderful and very helpful. Never had a problem of getting a hold of her she was prompt, and easily got my deposit back, so i dont know why others had a problem. Love this place you can use your own caterer, bar, everything, and they have no restrictions on how to decorate, which is easier for you to have your reception hall they way you vision it to be. I loved this place and so happy i made the choice to have our reception here. The landscape is breathtaking for your pictures. very affordable and absolutely beautiful compared to outrageous prices places that look like crap!

The Holland Fish and Game Club was an awesome value for our wedding reception. The new management there is extremely helpful and willing to work with you. It was very clean (they got new carpet last summer), and the blank decor allows for lots of decorating versatility. Clean-up was a breeze as well, you don't have to put away the tables and chairs when you are done...all you have to do is pick-up and vacuum. And a great bonus is there are lots of beautiful areas outside to take photographs. I highly recommend the Holland Fish and Game Club.

The Holland Fish and Game Club has a beautiful location. We took photos outside of the club, and they are beautiful. The rooms are spacious, and the layout seems to work very well. The only negative for me, was that I was unable to decorate the night before because the club was booked, but I can't be upset because it is understandable that they would want to book the rooms for both Friday and Saturday nights. Other than no early setup, everything went perfectly. I would definitely recommend the Holland Fish and Game Club as a reception venue.

Helpful, accommodating, and a really nice person. This place leaves the options open to what you want for your day. You can have whatever catering you want, whatever DJ you want, and you can bring your own alcohol for your event. There are a few different options outside to have your ceremony. The scenery is beautiful, they have a couple ponds with fountains, it is in a woodsy area and the building is log cabin. Very awesome if you're into that.

Beautiful venue and accommodating staff. The wonderful outdoor areas made for great photos and a lovely time!

Wonderful reception Venue! A little hard to work with at first...but everything got straightened out. One cool thing to point out is that there was some cool lighting already hung up for us to use. That came in handy and looked wonderful.

Wonderful place, we used the south room. There was plenty of room for guest to move around. Very simple worked well with my wedding

There are just a few people that are in charge of contracting the hall out. It is hard to get ahold of them and they do no return phone calls well. A refundable deposit is required, however, they rarely give it back.

We were looking for a budget wedding venue and initially selected this place, we were told by the event coordinator that the owners will often drink and have meetings in the lodge during the bookings (really weird but it wasn't a ton of money compared to other venues so we just kind of accepted it), the major issue was that the venue did major landscaping renovations a couple of months before the wedding, cut down lots of trees, tore up grass, and just generally made the location a lot worse. It was supposedly done for "safety reasons" but there was no communication, we only found out after doing an extra tour later much closer to the wedding (we wouldn’t have known until the week of if we didn’t schedule a extra tour), and the event coordinator showcasing the venue sounded similarly annoyed and blindsided with the landscaping both over text and in person.

She clearly understood that it looked a lot worse and offered other locations at the game club (none of which really made sense for our wedding as we were told there was another event going on there at the time that would have been in full view) but after a back and forth the venues owners refused to offer any refunds and kept the deposit when we told them we didn't want to get married there.

I would not recommend this place for an important event, the management seems completely disconnected from the event coordination, appears to arbitrarily decide on things that impact operations negatively and without communication, and are very unprofessional.

EDIT - After posting a negative review I received several snarky and passive-aggressive texts from the venue regarding the review, which kind of just proves my point about the unprofessionalism.

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. My niece had her reception here in the north hall. Holland Fish and Game failed to let us know that our reception wasn't locked (OR SAFE) from the wedding reception taking part on the south side. They have no security in place to protect renters or guests - not even a camera; nor will they hold themselves responsible when something does happen on their property.

After our niece's reception was done and we were cleaning up, a drunken brawl broke through the doors on the south side venue into our wedding reception on the north side. They burst into our side and were fist fighting and trying to incite fights with some of the men on our side. These people had blood dripping from their faces and all over their clothing. The men from our party had to remove them and we called the police and the rental manager (3 separate times). The rental manager NEVER called back. By the time police arrived, 20 minutes later, there were 40 people (from the other wedding) fighting in the parking lot. We had barricaded ourselves in the room.

They kept trying to reenter our reception area and trashed our entryway (that we were told would only be accessed by US). There were broken liquor bottles, pools of blood on the floor, broken floor and wall tiles and I even had the luxury of 2 of these fighting idiots causing $1900 damage to my vehicle (which was parked outside the door while we were loading up the back of it).

Holland Fish and Game Club acts like they've really gone out of their way to give a small amount of money back to my sister. What about the vehicle damage we both incurred? They claim they aren't responsible for any costs. We won't even talk about the mental trauma that the 25 people who had been left were subject to. I have never been so scared for my safety!

I will NEVER even attend a function here again. It may look like a good deal on paper, but beware. Even when you're not the renter, you may still be out money, just for going to their facility.
