Would highly recommend!

We were very happy with the work that Eric and his wife did at our wedding. He took his job very seriously and the pictures looked fantastic! His advice helped us finalize our timeline and ensure that we got all of the shots that we wanted most. Plus, he did a great job working with our dog during the photo shoot!

Eric and his wife Anna were a pleasure to work with. I was a little bit nervous that we hadn't met with Eric in person before our wedding to get to know each other, but in the two weeks leading up to the wedding I had a couple phone conversations with him that made me feel completely at ease. On the day of he was extremely professional and entertaining. He had our entire family laughing, and I really appreciated having his wife there to step in and help adjust my dress and hair, I think I even spotted her taking some pictures as well! The thing I appreciated the most was that Eric stayed beyond his leave time so that he could capture our last dance and exit. Turns out, one of our favorite pictures was the one he captured during the last dance, and if he had left at the agreed upon earlier time, we never would have gotten that shot. We started getting pictures back the DAY AFTER the wedding! I could not have asked for a better experience, I definitely recommended Hoffland Studios.

Eric is such an artist in the work that he does. Our wedding was is April perfect for the outdoors and the weather was great. He captured moments that I will cherish forever. I woul not consider myself photogenic but Eric somehow disprove that by the results of my bridal and ceremony pics. You did good Eric no disappointments here. I would highly recommend Hoffland Studios for anyone looking to have lasting memories captured in print.

Found Hoffland Studios through WeddingWire. Loved our engagement photos! They were gorgeous! They were extremely flexible and understanding of our crazy work schedule. Truly accommodating! Really didn't want to mention this because they were really amazing, but one comment is that I felt like a lot of the shooting time was taken away due to Eric spending a lot of time switching lens and adjusting lighting.

I have nothing but great things to say about Hoffland Studios! I saw their booth at a bridal expo and knew instantly that I had found my photographer. Eric and his wife Anna were so great to work with throughout the entire process. I always got prompt responses from them, which definitely isn't always the case when communicating with wedding vendors. Eric is so gifted at what he does. The photos that he creates are truly magical and unlike anything else out there. They went above and beyond to give us engagement pictures that were exactly what we wanted. I had a certain vision for our engagement pictures including an outdoor session and a request to have a tree with "twinkle lights". Eric didn't let me down! He searched the area to find the perfect tree, he brought his own lights, and even figured out how to use his car to provide the electricity to light up the tree! If that isn't going the extra mile then I don't know what is! After seeing our engagement pictures, I couldn't wait to see the wedding pictures. And once again we were given stunning photos! We got over a thousand pictures of the wedding and seriously every one of them is amazing! The experience and pictures we received from Hoffland Studios exceeded my expectations. What I got from them was better than anything that I could have imagined. I recommend Hoffland Studios to anyone that is looking for a wedding photographer! Don't hesitate, book your wedding now!! You won't regret it :)

Eric did such a wonderful job capturing our wedding. I am not a person who likes to be on a schedule. He was able to keep me on track and capture our moments without making me feel directed. Our outdoor wedding was turned upside down(almost literally) when Hurricane Patricia hit. Eric didn't miss a beat making us look like a million bucks in the weather. He also captured the most breath taking photos of us in the rain. Truly made my wedding day more special than I thought it would be!

Words can't express how great Eric is. I got married in August outside (what was I thinking) he took the most perfect shots for my bridal potriats and for our wedding. He captured all of the moments I was looking for. He and his wife are awesome, I am so glad I chose them, I wouldn't have had any other way.

We can't wait for Eric to take our pictures. He took my sisters wedding photos and they were SO gorgeous, I always knew I wanted him to take mine as well. My fiancé and I don't take many photos and are in desperate need of some AMAZING pictures. I recommend him to all my engaged friends!

Eric took engagement photos for us in the downtown Alexandria, LA area and then out at Inglewood Farm. He was enthusiastic and helped us feel comfortable about being in front of the camera. The images he captured were incredible -- truly brought tears to my eyes to see our happiness in the pictures. I could not have imagined a more fun day with better results. Working with Eric and Hoffland Studios was so easy and so fun! They were very timely with turnaround of the wedding pictures and also the printing of the pictures took no time at all. Eric has an awesome personality and was so fun to meet with and share ideas with. Being in the wedding business I have worked with Hoffland Studios on many occasions and I would not have chosen anyone else to do my own wedding. They are amazing, there is so much creativity and passions behind each picture!

Eric was absolutely wonderful to work with. He’s funny, creative, and made us feel comfortable right away. He walked us through the entire process, giving us ideas and suggestions to make sure our wedding day was perfect. Eric captured so many special moments and had such creative ideas throughout our engagement pictures, bridals, and wedding day. Eric really takes pride in his work and is passionate about capturing the moment. We found him punctual, creative, funny and overall able to bring beauty and class to an amazing day. He captured the moments and worked the room to get everyone. It was a great experience and if you see his work on his website, you can see he is talented.
Overall, his creativity and ability to capture the best shots makes him a professional above any other of the photographers we interviewed. Further, he delivered and was willing to go to great lengths, like inviting us to meet in New York City, to capture engagement shots. Amazing wouldn't you agree?

We planned our wedding from California and had our ceremony at Ashton Gardens-Houston. We had looked at several photographers web sites and appreciated Eric's site and talent. We scheduled an appointment and met at his studio. Eric was on time and provided us a lot of information. When we left our meeting we were excited about Eric photographing our ceremony.
The day of our ceremony Eric and his assistant were on time and setting up. Eric and his assistant took all the photos on our list of family members, since family members came to Texas from California, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Washington State, and Montana. Our family had a good time working with Eric and his assistant and even took photos of them at the reception. Our daughter asked if Eric would come to San Diego to photographer her wedding next year because Eric was easy and fun to work with.
We highly recommend Eric as your photographer he was on time, easy to work with, and does beautiful work.

I used Eric as my photographer for my wedding and bridal portraits at Ashton Gardens and he did a PHENOMENAL job! I absolutely love all the pictures. Normally, I am not great in front of a camera but he made me feel so comfortable and at ease that it was not a problem. During my bridals, he was playing music through the speakers of my ceremony site to make it more fun and comfortable. Also, any time I had questions (may it be from hair to make-up to even flowers at one point) Eric answered anything and everything. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time and is very knowledgable with weddings in general. If you want everything to run smooth and easy and have great pictures from your wedding, Eric is your man!

Eric Hoffland with Hoffland Studios did an absolutely amazing job capturing all the special moments the day of our wedding. The pictures tell the story and hold so many precious memories. Eric is so much fun to work with. I love that he is so creative with his photography. It's obvious that he loves what he is doing and it shows in his work. I actually just picked up our wedding album and I can't put it down! It's like I'm getting married all over again everytime I look at the album. It's been one year since Hoffland shot my wedding and engagement photos. I want to hang so many photos up in our house, since they are so unique. Our engagement shots are unique - not just us sitting around in matching shirts. We used the Hotel Galvez and the beach as our backdrops. Even though Galveston beach isn't gorgrous like other beaches, Hoffland colored our photos in such a way that made the beach beautiful.

I cannot stress how important wedding photos are, it happens once and photos and video are all you have to relive the moment and share it with others. Our package was expensive, but services were provided for 10 hours on the wedding day, engagement shoot, meetings and album production. You get what you pay for - most of our shots were amazing and our album is sleek and fun at the same time.

I set aside time before the wedding to do bridal shots, since my makeup and hair were already done. Eric chose the location where to do shots based on lighting, it just so happened he liked the lighting in my hotel room's bathroom (sounds strange..) however, I have wonderful shots from it. The largest bridal shot I framed in our home, is from one of the bathroom shots ;)

Our photos were featured in the magazine Houston Brides, it was fun for our friends and family to recognize us. This wouldn't have been possible without photos by Hoffland Studios.

My only disappointment was that some of the shots I wanted were over-exposed so I didn't have everything on my list.

If you want photos that are UNIQUE, albums that are high quality and can afford it, I highly recommend Hoffland Studios.

We are so happy to have Eric as our photography. Both the engagement and wedding photos came out beautifully. During the process, he and Anna made us feel at ease, especially during our wedding when a lot of friends were standing around. Our relatives and friends were all thrilled about the final presentation. Those images will bring us life-long memory and happiness for sure. I absolutely loved my pictures, Eric did a wonderful job and EVERYONE who has ever seen our photographs comments on how great they are! He is a master at the photojournalistic style and the pictures all end up looking like magazine shots! The only complaint I have is that he does try to sell you a lot of extras and I personally felt pressure from him. Other than that, he was great and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Eric did a spectacular job on our photographs. They are so much more artistic than the typical wedding photography you see of posed photos...he did a great job capturing our special moments. Along with our package which included all the digital photos (fantastic!) and a photo album we ordered several large prints that also turned out beautifully.

We had a small wedding and he was quite entertaining to work with at our events. I would highly recommend him and would use him again for other services.

My wife and I used Eric for our wedding a year ago at Royal Oaks Country Club and he simply did an amazing job! He not only captured all the classic shots one would want from his or her wedding, but he also incorporates a contemporary element to enhance the overall look and feel. We used Eric for both my bridal portraits and our wedding photography. He has a very artistic style of photography and captured many sweet moments from our big day. When our pictures were posted after the wedding, our friends were blown away by how gorgeous they were, especially thanks to Eric's editing and post-effects. He has a very loose style of direction and tries to keep the mood very light and upbeat. If anything, I would probably have preferred a bit more explicit direction and feedback from him during the portraits as I sometimes felt nervous in front of the camera.

Overall, we were very pleased with the beautiful outcome and I would definitely recommend Eric to any friend.

A wonderful photography pair. My pictures are incredibly beautiful. I did spend quite a bit of my money on the photography, but it is the only thing I have left now. It has been a little harder to reach them now that the wedding is over though, thats the only negative.

eric and maddy are phenomenal to work with during your event or session! they have a great balance of professionalism and friendliness, and they make you feel at ease when they are capturing your moment. They are punctual and reliable for the big day (which is a must criteria for every bride!). Their vision and talent translate beautifully in their photos. The pictures are fabulous, and they make sure to get all of the shots you asked for. You probably will not find better in Houston. Although, when they get busy, they get busy! and that's the reason for the one mark down. I waited for a month to see my pictures, when the contract said the proofs would be available 2 weeks after the client's event. I was a little frustrated with this, especially since 3 other brides I knew from the greater houston area who had the same wedding date as me but different vendors had their wedding pictures uploaded onto facebook before I had even had a chance to see mine, but when I expressed my concerns eric was very understanding and had our pictures up within 24 hrs after the 1 month mark and my corresponding email.

11 weeks waiting and no fixing

Beautiful pictures, he know how to keep the moment. We had a outside ceremony and got great pictures.
Pictures are made in a blink of a eye and it can happened, that the background is not perfect, but as a costumer you should not see this. Picture wishes, which he didn’t felt thrilled with, he has not uploaded (also not after asking).
We expected more for over $2000 and also waited 11 weeks for our photos.

Services were never rendered

On January 7th, I paid $250 as a 50% deposit to reserve services with Hoffland Studios. The provider stated the deposit was required to reserve my spot but did not clearly state that it was non-refundable. Furthermore, no services were provided, no work was started, and no expenses were incurred on my behalf.

After I followed up requesting a refund due to the lack of service, the provider claimed the deposit was non-refundable based solely on the phrase “I need 50% to reserve your spot,” which was never clarified in writing or discussed further.

As there was no signed agreement outlining a non-refundable policy and no service was performed, I believe I am entitled to a refund. I have made good faith attempts to resolve this directly, but the provider has refused.

Since posting my honest review, I’ve received several follow-up messages from this individual that only further confirm the concerns I originally had. His tone has become increasingly aggressive, disrespectful, and manipulative. These messages have made it abundantly clear that working with him is not only unprofessional, but potentially unsafe—especially for women.

As a pregnant woman, I’ve been on the receiving end of insults and emotional pressure from someone who was hired to provide a service, failed to deliver, and has since refused to issue a full refund as agreed. I am sharing this experience to help others avoid the same treatment. I would caution anyone—especially women—against doing business with him.

Do not be fooled

My husband and I were looking for a great photographer to capture our wedding day back in September of 2021 and we thought Eric was a great match! Red flags from the beginning!! He forgot about our initial meetings we set up to discuss the big day, what we wanted and what we were looking for - he did not communicate with us at all. I ultimately let go of this first experience as I really was impressed with his previous work listed on his website and we rescheduled a meeting day. Out of all my venues he never participated or communicated at all until I would have to contact him multiple times in a row several times just to get his attention. Fast forward to a few days before my wedding,,, he wanted to sit down with my husband and I to go over the big day one more time, he wanted to rearrange my entire wedding schedule to fit his needs and mind you he never reached out to me prior until 3 days before my wedding!!! So of course I said no!
Wedding day: surprisingly he came on time, other than that Eric made all of my guests and myself uncomfortable making inappropriate jokes and even hitting on some of my guests! This is completely unacceptable.Fast forward to after the wedding it took him nearly 3 months to deliver our wedding photos!!! 3 months!!!when the website says up to 4 weeks? I would ask for updates he’d say he was working on them and they were to be delivered that same week, then it’d be the time he’d deliver and he’d still not have them and he kept pushing out further and further! My patience was running thin! Then he told me he had to go to the hospital for a week and wasn’t going to be able to deliver the photos. I understand emergencies can happen but mind you we were in month 3 at this time with no photos and it was becoming suspicious. Needless to say after multiple times asking for the photos- he delivers them through drop box. NONE OF THE PHOTOS ARE EDITED!! NONE!! When the website clearly states they will be fully edited. None of my photos came out as his “portfolios” depict. We also did not receive…” All collections include wedding day consultation, edited photographs, Canvas Gallery Wrap, Wooden USB Heirloom Box engraved with your names/ wedding date and myself on your wedding day.” He is a SCAMMER do not do business with him and do not waste or lose money on this man. He will lose your trust. He is notorious for not taking accountability for his lack of professionalism and behavior. I will not be surprised if he responds to this review deflecting and lying to cover himself. I’ve seen it in previous reviews. This day was the most important day of my life and he took a huge part of that away.

Pictures were beautiful, but it's not supposed to be only about the pictures. For the amount we paid him, we expected GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. We could have gotten beautiful pictures elsewhere along with excellent customer service. Our experience was horrid, and we cannot look at our pictures without a sense of regret. He needs to hire someone to do the communicating and interacting with his clients.

Please DO NOT RUIN your wedding experience by using this photographer!!!! Dealing with Eric was THE SINGLE MOST FRUSTRATING relationship I’ve had in my wedding and overall as a customer! I believe he was an average photographer, but he was unorganized, unprofessional, and absolutely RUDE! He was overall VERY difficult to deal with. He posted my gallery 2 weeks late after SEVERAL emails from me. I can’t even continue writing about all the problems we’ve had with him, and working with him felt like dealing with a used car salesman. Pictures are very important and I’m so sad we went with this man! Thank God we have a great video!
