We hired Hip & Hitched for our wedding, and working with Tim was one of the best decisions we made for the entire day. I met with TIm at a local spot a month or two before the wedding and I could tell we were on the same page. Tim was truly invested in understanding our vision and his enthusiasm for the big day really eased any anxieties we might of had. He wasn’t just a DJ — he was a guide, a coordinator, and a calm, steady presence who made everything feel effortless.
For our ceremony and cocktail hour, Tim arranged a string trio that was nothing short of stunning. The music elevated the entire atmosphere and set the perfect tone from the moment guests arrived.
Once the reception started, Tim transformed the night. He brought in an incredible team of live musicians — a saxophonist, a bass guitarist, and a percussionist — and together they created an energy that felt electric. The combination of DJ + live musicians was unreal. Guests kept coming up to us throughout the night asking where we found them. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the very last.
Tim read the crowd perfectly, transitioned seamlessly between moments, and made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. We never had to worry about a thing. He truly made the night unforgettable.

We had an incredible experience with Hip & Hitched! Tim was responsive, organized, and great to work with throughout the planning process. We had a jazz trio for our cocktail hour and a DJ/live band fusion (DJ + percussion + saxophone) for our reception — and it was amazing! The live instruments added such a fun, unique twist to the music, and the transitions between songs were seamless. Tim did a fantastic job blending our “must plays” with the perfect selections for the night. The vibe was incredible, and the dance floor was packed from start to finish! -

TD and the rest of his team at “Hip and Hitched" did such a wonderful job at our wedding on August 30th 2025. We did a live band for our cocktail hour and utilized a sax in addition to the DJ services for our reception. Needless to say, it was a complete hit! They did a great job with timing, communication in the days leading up to the wedding, and overall execution. Please use these guys for your wedding services moving forward!

From the Groom: Tim is, no exaggeration, the finest wedding dj I’ve ever seen, and I was honored to have him dj my wedding! One thing that sets him apart, he will actually dj if you want him too. He is incredibly attentive and will get down and dirty in the details if you want him too, or he can curate an amazing night if you want to leave it up to him. He is also just the nicest, coolest guy you’ll ever work with. Hire this man!
From the Bride: Planning this wedding was one of the most stressful and overwhelming experiences of my life, but it was absolutely PERFECT and worth every moment and penny. Tim is a complete professional, offered suggestions when I was clueless, has great energy, and is excellent at reading the room. He also recommend my day-of wedding coordinator from Fete and Figs, and the two of them had a secret language together to make sure our wedding day was a complete success. If I had to do it all again, I would do everything exactly the same. Tim will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

PRO:
1. Best price in 2024! Unlike other DJ who are way too greedy with inflation and provides services you don't need, TD is offering the most reasonable prices and add-ons to fit your needs and budget. We added the uplighting services and opt'ed out for additional musicians (more on that below).
2. TD is incredibly professional and experienced. We're picky music producers and needed someone who the same level of touch and technicality. With TD, you don't have to worry! He has the years, experience, and groove for it all!
3. Reliable, communicative, and supportive. He can easily mesh well with your videographers, coordinators, and team to make sure your entire event goes well. We're very satisfied with the outcomes.
CON:
1. We didn't get the additional musicians TD recommended and regret it. I think others should consider it! Having more than 1 entertainer on the dance floor really heightens the energy. Whether it's an Emcee, Drummer, Saxophonist, etc... you need that extra person as a hype man to keep the night going! +1 if they can dance and help others follow along #flashmob #tiktokdance.
2. Have a back-up plan for emergencies. If someone falls and hurts their heads in the middle of an energetic time, you'd want to know what to do to be respectful of that person while ensuring the rest of the party is still going. I recommend you to talk to your DJ, emcee, coordinators, and event team to align on an emergency plan in case it happens! One of our elders fell and had a bloody experience. Recovering from that was quite an experience, but TD and our emcee friend made it happen! -

Our wedding day using Hip and Hitched was truly a dream come true. From the moment we walked in, we were met with such warmth and professionalism. The team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, making us feel special and important throughout the entire process. Tim is extremely responsive and is always making sure he understands the vibe you're going for. We highly recommend adding in the percussion band along with the DJ--it was worth every penny! So much so, our guests were asking to tip the band because they were so amazing!
The positive energy and creativity they brought to the table made our special day even more magical. They listened to our ideas and brought them to life in a way that exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere they created was so joyful and full of love, it truly added to the beauty of our celebration.

The Hip & Hitched team was ICONIC! Our timeline was delayed, but that didn’t phase them one bit! The sound, music, and energy were ELECTRIC and we could not have asked for a better group! NO WORDS! Tim and the Hip & Hitched team brought the PARTY to our wedding! We found out about H&H's DJ live fusion band from other friends who had gotten married, and we knew after speaking to Tim for the first time that he was a good fit for us. He truly wants everyone to have a blast - and works so hard to deliver! Our families and friends were a wide blend from Latin dancers to people who never dance and our dance floor was PACKED all night long! Tim was so easy to work with on curating musical selections and the live Sax and Percussion were sooo entertaining! Our guests still haven't stopped talking about this crew. We hired Hip and Hitched to DJ and film our wedding, and they did such a fantastic job, our friends hired them for their wedding! Hip and Hitched is the best of both worlds with both a DJ and a band. I recently had the absolute pleasure of working with Hip & Hitched for an unforgettable 40th birthday party and client appreciation event. Tim exceeded all expectations and delivered an extraordinary experience for everyone!
From the first moment I contacted them, their professionalism and attention to detail were apparent. They took the time to fully understand my vision, preferences, and the atmosphere I wanted to create for my guests. Their ability to listen and adapt to our needs was truly commendable.

Would hire them a million times over!
We absolutely LOVED the Hip & Hitched team. Sion played the sax and our guests ate it up. It was such a fun vibe the entire night and Mike dealt with requests like a champ. They made our wedding and we cannot thank them enough. It was such a blast! As for planning - Tim is an excellent communicator and always got back to me in a very timely manner. Tim Degroot was the best Dj we could have ever asked for to DJ our beach wedding! We knew of him from attending my cousins wedding in atlanta and he was so good that we asked him if he could travel down to Florida for our beach wedding. He was extremely open to traveling and absolutely was the highlight of our wedding. He asked us the right questions and understood our song tastes, played the songs we specifically asked for, but the best thing about Tim was he read the room and did his thing without us having to think about it! He also had the perfect energy- not too hyper but always so upbeat and having the best time. You can tell he just loves what he does and does it well. We really could just party the night away and he just adjusted and understood the vibe of the room. I’ll never forget when he remixed all star and backstreets back.. that was so cool! UM WOW, Tim and his team definitely brought the PARTY to our wedding!
We knew immediately after speaking to Tim for the first time that he was our guy. His energy is so contagious, and he knows how to have fun. We had a lot of young adults, older adults, and grandparents at our wedding, and everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. He honored all of our song requests for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and gave his own flare to it. He took initiative, read the party, and knew exactly how to keep us dancing all night long.

We saw the band, DJ, and video crew in action at a wedding in 2019 and had the time of our lives, so, when I got engaged last year, my fiance and I immediately knew we wanted to book them for our 2021 wedding - they were the first vendor we booked, and we went with the live band with sax, bass, and percussion fused with the amazing DJ + video crew! From the initial phone call to discuss our vision to the wedding day itself, everyone with Hip & Hitched was truly a joy to work with! I can't rave enough about Hip and Hitched!!! We connected with them for our wedding through a referral, and we couldn't be happier with how professional, kind, caring, fun, and talented this team was, especially during such a crazy year for a bride! We had some big dreams of having a string trio for our ceremony, a Jazz trio for cocktail hour, and a band/DJ fusion complete with a sax player and percussion for the reception, and they made it all happen better than we could have ever imagined. On top of this they handled mics, lighting, and brought crazy energy to the dance floor that our guests are still talking about:) we loved being able to join in on the drums, grab a tambourine, and steal the mic with guests! The Hip and Hitched bands and DJ truly made our night what is was and made every step of the planning process so easy, but more importantly they made it enjoyable, special, and personable. We had already booked video, photo, and a photobooth but I have no doubt they rock everything else they also do on top of music! They are passionate artists that really care about their clients, it's hard to find such kind and hardworking talent for this value anywhere else. Where do I even start with how happy we are with Hip and Hitched!! I had no experience choosing a DJ but knew we made the right decision as soon as we booked. From start to finish, Timothy was professional, kind, attentive & responsive, and created the most fun party at our reception. The music all night (cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party) was so suited to our style and the balance of all of his selections was just perfect – not to mention the custom mixes. SO. FUN. I reached out to Tim of Hip and Hitched after seeing a few of their sample wedding videos on their site - I absolutely loved how each video captured the couple, their guests, and the celebrations so beautifully and uniquely. Tim was also quick to respond and patiently answered any and all questions. We had a two day Hindu + Christian wedding celebration and I worked specifically with Brock and he was truly incredible. We met before the wedding and went over the details of both ceremonies, which moments were critical to capture, and overall style of the final video. Brock was so fun to work with and most importantly he is SO talented. I am so grateful to have the most incredible wedding video for us to look back on and rewatch a million times. THE BEST in the business! When we were setting up a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents, I reached out to my wedding photographer for help with a DJ - she put me in touch with Tim and Hip and Hitched, the rest is history! H&H came very highly recommended and the experience was better than the hype! Our amazing Dj was able to keep a room full of people between the ages of 5 and 75 happy and dancing all night. The Hip booth, photo booth and props were a total hit and everyone is still raving about the pictures and video captured. To the whole H&H crew, thank you all so much for your patience with all of our crazy requests! It was such a pleasure working with you! Had an absolutely incredible wedding thanks to Tim at Hip & Hitched! My dream for my wedding was to have a giant dance party with all my friends and family, and this company MADE THAT HAPPEN! Tim was extremely responsive from day one, and was very communicative throughout the entire process - even inviting me to local events he was DJ'ing so that I could experience his style first hand. We hired Hip & Hitched for DJ and video crew. It was BY FAR the best vendor decision we made during wedding planning. We even had a month-of wedding planner and we felt as though Tim did a better job of making sure my husband and I were taken care of throughout the entire night. Not only did he handle business and read the crowd like a champ, he was flexible, pleasant, and friendly with everyone. The music was perfection! It was like a 4 hour sing and dance-a-long all night.
Feedback from our guests was also exceptional. The videographers were fun and chill and our bridal party had a blast with them. Hip & Hitched would be my top recommendation to anyone planning a wedding. We love those guys! -

They were amazing to work with, very professional, great communication, and truly valued what we wanted for our wedding day. We were honestly unsure if a video from our wedding would be worth it but thank goodness we decided to go with it. We will forever cherish the video that was created for us. It captured all of the special moments that you can relive and show friends & family who could not make it. Then for Tim our DJ.. There was not one person not on the dance floor!!! We had multiple people after the wedding ask us for our playlist and who our DJ was after the wedding. He has so much experience and knows how to keep a party going!!! Not only did Topher do an awesome job as the DJ at our reception, but he coordinated a string trio for our ceremony as well as a jazz trio for our cocktail hour. The prices were very reasonable, everything went so smoothly, and Topher was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. We had a lot of people tell us how much they enjoyed all the music. We absolutely would recommend Hip and Hitched for your wedding!
