Perfection!

Mike is an amazing photographer and we are so lucky to have had him for our wedding. He is very personable and reasonable. He not only arrived early to the venue, but got all of my husband’s family and the groomsmen photos done before my arrival. He made sure he followed my list and had other suggestions that weren’t on it as well. He also got all my photos done very quickly and they came out beautiful!!! I would highly recommend HiLite Studio for your wedding and I can’t wait to use them again!

My Two Pennies

We were introduced to Mike when we took our family/engagement photos and seeing the patience he had with our 10 and 13 year olds we knew we needed to hire him for our wedding too. This man is amazing! He captures moments that you’ll never forget, they’re creative and stunning. I would absolutely recommend Mike to anyone and everyone that is looking for a photographer. Fantastic!

We had the pleasure of working with Mike for our courthouse wedding. He made us feel very comfortable having only just met him, had really good rates for having given him a week's notice (!!), and turned around amazing photos to share with our families quite promptly. We look forward to working with him again in the future.

Money well worth it!

My wedding took place in July during the pandemic and I was debating whether or not a videographer but be a worthy investment, but all in all, it sure was! Mike helped me arrange for the videographer to come and the one he sent was terrific as well. The editing job they did was fantastic and I wouldn’t do it any other way.

Hi-Lite Studios took great wedding pictures

Jim & Mike were very professional and a pleasure to work with. They were on time and spent the whole day and evening with us and had patience the whole time. They had lots of ideas for shots and listened to what we wanted also. They captured every special moment and more. We received close to 1,400 proofs after 2 weeks and are enjoying going through them - it will be hard to choose with so many good pics! Every question was quickly answered before, during and after the wedding. I highly recommend them.

Mike and Jim were so friendly and professional. From the minute I sat down with mike for a consultation I knew that I didn’t want anyone else for a photographer. We were initially attracted to HiLite for their affordable pricing, and though were were originally going with the smallest package, Mike treated us as if we were spending a fortune. We were able to upgrade to a deluxe package later on, and I was not disappointed. Between Mike and Jim I didn’t have to worry about a thing. My guests can’t stop raving about them. We received our pictures back yesterday and we are in LOVE. I am not usually photogenic so I was nervous about pictures - but I was nervous for nothing!
They have been so prompt in calling us back and communicating with us about getting our thank you cards and album done, especially as we live in a different state.
Thank you Mike & Jim for making our memories perfect!

Excellent Photography and People!

We have been working with Hilite Studios for years. From our engagement photos to wedding photos Jim and Mike have been an absolute pleasure to work with. They are so easy to talk to and the pictures have been absolutely amazing!! You really get the attention to detail and personal attention with Hilite studios that you just won’t get with any other company. Our pictures and wedding album came out better than I ever imagined! We chose Hilite studios for our wedding pictures and i couldn't have asked for anything better. Mike and Jim are are very professional and very easy to work with. The prices are accommodating and you're paying for very beautiful work. They know what they're doing and Jim's picture suggestions came out beautiful. I sincerely recommend them if you want very beautiful photos, work with photographers that are very friendly and professional, and if you want reasonable prices. we've showed the pictures to all our wedding guests, family, and friends, and they all comment on how beautiful the quality is. Jim was also very involved during the wedding that my bridal party still ask about him till' this day.

HiLite Studios was a fantastic value. We already had a photographer, but I really wanted a video for my husband and I and our parents. They offered us a great deal and we were very pleased with the quality of the final product. They did a wonderful job of capturing our special moments and getting the highlights of the day. We just got to watch and relive the day (without all the stress LOL) and we could not have been happier with the result. They were very personable and professional to work with. Highly recommended.

Mike did everything he could to accomidate a elopement on the beach in long island. His staff was personable and fun and everyone raved about how nice our photographer was. His packages were adjusted to our needs and the pictures are absolutly amazing. I Cannot say enough about how wonderful this business is. If you need a photographer please check these guys out.

me an my wife got married on valentines day 2015 and we used hilite studios for our wedding pictures. AWESOME pics! these guys did EVERYTHING we asked for with like no hesitation. they even drove with us to the hospital so we could take some pics with my grandma in bed! the price was just what they said it would be the pics were too! we even got our finished albums an stuff already! we would recommend these guys to anyone who needs professional pics!

Jim who was our photographer on our wedding was absolutely amazing. He was so patient every step of the way. He was not pushy and made taking pictures so relaxing. Last minute I wanted to take pictures on the beach and he allowed us to take that time. Everyone raved about how professional they were and the pictures came out great.

My wife made a surprise birthday party for me and had HiLite Studios photograph the event. The photographs taken captured my surprise the moment I walked into the party and provide professional quality lasting memories of the entire celebration. The photographer, Jim, was conscientious, unobtrusive, cooperative and a pleasure to work with. He was creative in the poses he arranged and gladly accommodated our special requests. Thank you to Hilite studios for outstanding job on our special day. I am absolutely amazed by the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the photos! Mike was amazing! We got our pictures SUPER fast! My friend has been married for 5 years and used another company (Velvet Studios) for their photos and she STILL hasn't received them! HiLite studios was a great choice for my wedding. We had Mike for our special day and I could not have been happier. He new how to calm me down keep me at ease. He was also very patient with my family and friends (which can be hard at times). He always had a smile on his face and kept saying how excited he was to be there. It is 3 weeks later and he called saying he rushed my proofs because he was so excited to see the outcome and wants me to see them. I highly recommend using HiLite for your photography. They also supply many packages to make it easy. There prices are great!!!!

I used hilite studios for my wedding photography and videography and they were amazing! Starting almost a year before my wedding I met with mike and he was fantastic every step of the way. HiLite Studios provided the photographer for my wedding this past weekend and I could not be happier with the service. We hit a few bumps in the road trying to obtain permits for a difficult location in Long Island City. Mike worked tirelessly to prepare the necessary paper work and make my wedding dream come true. We were able to obtain the permits just in the nick of time and I was already ecstatic. Fast forward to the actual wedding day...my photographer DON was a godsend. He was simply incredible. The morning of the wedding, the groomsmen and groom were scattered around the hotel dillydallying and I was very concerned that we were going to be late. Don basically rounded up all of them and helped them get ready!! He rode with my in the limo and helped prep me for the day. i felt like he was my very own wedding coordinator as well as photographer. When our best man forgot the rings and had to go back to the hotel, Don kept my tiger mother under control and kept the whole bridal party calm.
He was everywhere and captured every moment. I cannot express how pleased I was with Don. When Mike said that he was giving us one of the best, I thought that maybe he said that about all of the photographers, but it is so true, Don truly is the best.

Thank you hilite for making my wedding so incredibly memorable!!!

Mike takes amazing pictures - yet appears invisible during the occasion unlike some photographers who can be extremely intrusive and 'in the way' while you're trying to have FUN! Very creative, with a GREAT eye for detail and color! Super personality. A person whom you will call 'friend'. HIGHLY recommended!!

If you are looking for the best prices, quality, professionalism and trustworthy company in photograpghy and videography then HiLite Studios is your place. They are very good at what they do and make your pictures come to reality. I used HiLite Studios for my wedding and I am happy i did. We also shopped around and visited bridal shows and heard of HiLite Studios. We wanted a vendor that we could trust. We visited their studio in Commack and when we saw their work it was beautiful. Honestly noboby beat HiLite Studio rates. When I received my pictures and video i fell in love with them. The pictures came to life and brought back all the memories that we would treasure for the rest of our lives. We love HiLite Studios work so much that we have booked two events with them. We also used Hi Lite Studios for my daughter Sweet 16 in January 2012. When we received my daugther video and pictures once again we fell in love with the work and quality we received. We highy recommend anyone getting married to go visit Hilite Studios. They have two locations in Commack and Westbury. Trust me you won't regret it. They are the best in Long Island. Ask for Mike

My wife and I were shopping around for wedding photogs, came across HiLite Studios. After speaking with Mike we knew we found our photographers. Jim was our photgrapher & a true professional, we are looking at our proofs & are more than pleased with their work. HiLite was more than willing to listen to our suggestions(beach shots). Mike at hilite studios was the absolute soul of courtesy throughout the entire planning process. The photographer and videographer at the wedding were absolutely splendid. They were able to capture the entire essence of the day without getting in the way at all. Courteous and respectful from start to finish, the folks at Hilite Studios are definitely worth a visit. And the pictures and video came out great too.

After shopping around for weeks (literally) for a photographer, my husband and I finally found a business that was beyond “ideal”. We knew what we wanted, which was definitely a video and two photographers for our wedding day. We figured it was going to be the best day of our lives and we wanted pictures and a video to remember it by. (If you’re a girl as cheesy as me, I plan to watch that video every anniversary and take out that photo album every year) After all you do only get married once! Our wedding date was 10-10-10  . Happened to be the “coolest” date at the time and a perfect weekend/month to get married, but for everyone else getting married that day it was difficult to find a lot of vendors in general to be available. Our photographer was the last thing we had to book.
I can not tell you how comfortable Mike and Jim at Hi-Lite Studios made us feel when we walked into their Commack studio. They sat us down and basically asked us what we wanted, and worked with us so that they knew what was to be done on our wedding day. Not once did they push us on adding on “extras” like everyone else did. They were kind enough though to tell us what features were available, and what they were capable of doing. They explained to us what certain things meant, if we had questions they answered us, and both of them were just laid back and relaxing. They made our stressful shopping time much easier.
The price they gave us to have a combo of two photographers and a video to be taken was phenomenal! They even gave us complimentary “extras” just because. Not only did I receive a copy of my wedding day video, but both sets of parents as well. All my proofs were given back to me, and they were kind enough to even make a DVD of them, so that we could email them to family and friends. What we liked best about Hi-Lite studios was that they were some what “old fashioned”. Yes they have the technology of other photographers, but they keep the traditions of an older style wedding in tack. My husband and I are not older either; we are in our mid 20’s.
Our wedding day could have not been more complete without Hi-Lite studios being our photographer. They were on time, came earlier then planned originally as requested by the bride, who actually ended up making them wait! Haha sorry guys. They were properly dressed for the occasion, took multiple pictures, and different shots and poses. Not once did I have a complaint from family or friends that they were rude, in the way, or anything.
Looking at our wedding proofs a few months after was absolutely breath-taking. It was so hard to choose just 100 photos for our albums because out of 300 or so pictures each one was fantastic! Not only did they capture things that I was not able to see that day, but my proofs told a story of how well my day went. Our video we were able to take home sooner to enjoy. Watching the ceremony and the reception on DVD for over an hour, with added in clips of us throughout the years of how our relationship unfolded was just so significant. After reviewing the page layouts of my album, I couldn’t wait to receive it! I sat in the studio and was asking for a box of tissues because I was crying over how well my album came out. The amount of time and craftsmanship that they had put into my album was truly able to show its colors.
I can not thank Hi-Lite studios enough for the wonderful memories it has given me for the rest of my life. I would hope that for you future brides out there, this review will at least get you to visit them. I’m telling you, you will not be disappointed. I remember shopping around for all these vendors and all I did was read these reviews online, and find out from family and friends who was good or not. Looked to see if they have worked at the reception hall before hand, and considered is it because the price is so high that they will be better? Mike and Jim just happen to be two really nice guys, who are honest, personable, VERY talented, and who I would consider to be great family friends. Thanks again Hi-Lite studios!

I saw her pics and was like yeah they are nice and the price is reasonable I will give him a call. SO GLAD THAT I DID! I do photography and I know what I want and let me tell you when I saw my proofs I cried. They were so beautiful. Every picture was better that the next. If your getting married and live on long island definitely check out Hi-Lite Studios. Mike and Allen are awesome. They are friendly and make you feel so comfortable. We had so many laughs and so much fun. I have passed out so many business cards and told all my friends. These guys are amazing and I love the work they did. My wedding was May 21, 2010. I booked with Mike 10 months prior to our wedding. He was awesome. He tailored an affordable package to suit our needs. Total bang for your buck. Mike kept in touch, during the ten months, and met with myself and my husband for our portrait session. That session, was a great opportunity to get to know Mike. He even coached we through my eye blinking dilemma. On my wedding day, he arrive at the venue before I did (and I was running on time). He got pictures of the venue, that I didn't even know about until I saw the video and the proofs. As the bride, you miss so much because people are coming at you from all directions, but Mike didn't miss a thing. Our parent albums are awesome, and our video is amazing. Our jaws dropped when we saw the quality of our video (all four copies for the price of one), a gift from Mike; in addition to framed proofs from our portrait session. Mike and Jim met with us several times, so that we could see the progress of your album. It's beautiful. I whole heartedly reccommend HiLite Studios. our wedding was 10/16/10 in oneonta ny upstate....our photographer was Diane and she was amazing! she made me feel so special and beautiful and calmed my crazy nerves that day.........i would definately recomend her to any bride.....she came to my parents house about 15 minutes early and my parents live 4 hours away !!!!!!! her expected arrival time was 11:30 and she was early. she took the time to chat with us and get to know my family as well. mike at hilite has been awesome too from day 1....they respond in a timely manner to my emails and calls! Diane even took wedding pix with my great dane Elvira, knowing that my dog couldnt be at the wedding!

I booked this company for my photography because - They do amazing photography work. My sister used them back in 2002 along with my cousin about 10 years agao. and still to this day they are great. Done in a timely matter and really not expensive at all I got my proofs thank you's parent albums and my album all fro 1800 and you can go cheaper if you want. the work is amazing. there photographers are pleasant to work with. they have great people skills and I would use them for all my parties and special ocassions.. The best company I have been to...

My husband and I got married on July 7,2012 and we loved HiLite Photography. They were very resonably priced, friendly, flexible and great to work with. We got our proofs in less than a month after the wedding and they are amazing!!! Having a hard time picking the ones that we want in the album. One of the many great things about HiLites is that you can get all of your proofs printed and they give them to you already in an album. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Gorgeous photos, and videography. Very kind, polite professionals. I only gave them a 3/5 in professionalism because both my mother and I were quoted on certain prices for different things and they tried to go back on it. I had to really fight for them to stick to some of the prices they originally gave me. It was worth it though because my pictures came out beautifully.

Dianne, was very professional... But a little too tough and rude to me...
I understand that they need a break thats why there is food for all vendors working, but they didnt even accept a glass of water from us!
Pictures and work very professional though, i would have rather have a person that was a little more fresh and relaxed.

Our photographer was all right. There were places in the venue she wasn't willing to go. If one of our groomsmen wasn't a photographer, We wouldn't have professional photos of the guys. The videographer stopped recording part of my bridal party coming down the isle. There is a lot of wasted tape during the reception which could have been edited out. I am still waiting to hear back from HiLite Studios since December 2011 ; I asked for the unedited version of our wedding video and some pictures, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. The photos we do have are nice.

I wish I would've never hired this vendor for my wedding, I so regret it. I guess you get what you pay for. The quality of the dvd was terrible, seems like there was no editing , there's a part where dinner is being served that they just put in their own song, the invitation I gave them was altered and on top of it all the DVD's were not playing in my player, I went back so many times to get new dvds because they never played , I even tried other people's and it didn't work either , they at least were able to give me a new one and upgrade me to a blu Ray .. but that didn't play in my player either , very frustrating and all he can say was you need to get a new player .. everything plays in my player. Except for the dvds they've given me. When I asked if they can edit it better I was told they couldn't as it's been done .... do yourself a favor and pay a little more and go with a more experienced vendor .. I wish I had

Extremely disappointed... They pick the photos for the cheap album they give you. Most of them are blurry and out of focus. The indoor ones look like everyone stayed in the tanning salon too long. The owner mike is not returning my emails and hung up on my husband today. I'm heartbroken that my wedding photos were ruined and that mike is doing nothing to make the situation better. My whole cocktail hour is missing. Mike will also tell you that him or one of his family members will shoot the photos that's a LIE!

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. My photographer was Diane and she was soooo clueless. I really received the impression that she filled in last minute, and wasn't a "professional" photographer. She took pictures of my wedding with people having eyes closed, mouths open, and these were the "finished" pictures I was given in the end. She also took pictures of me in my backyard, and had our shed in the background of the wedding pictures, so of course those photos weren't able to be used in an album. She took pictures at the church, with dead brown flowers in the background. She did not take one complete photo of our cake. In every picture with us near the cake, the cake is cut off, so there wasn't a complete picture of our cake. I am in law enforcement, and I could have done a better job than this clown. Also, other pictures she took were not centered. My husband and I were in pictures, and once we framed them, we were off to one side in the photo, almost cut off. She never took pictures with me and my husband and his parents. I guess that is my fault for not telling her how to do her job. My niece sang at the church, and when my family went to watch the dvd, my niece was edited out, by this company's videographer. This photo studio ruined my wedding pictures. I received better pictures from family and friends which I used to send my "Thank Yous". I have seen other negative reviews made about this company, and the owner of the company, will post a memo about the bad review, stating he does not recall this person. He can lie all he wants. Do not use this company....they ruined my wedding pictures.
