Incredible Experience

We had hired Hilary for our wedding on Block Island, she made the process seamless and was communicative and insightful. Without her suggestions and assistance, the wedding would not have been nearly successful as it was. With her and Brian's skills, they were able to not only capture the ambiance and incredible view but also able to showcase the love and tenderness of our big day. The quality of the photography is unmatched and we couldn't be happier having Hilary be a part of our day. We couldn't recommend her more to anyone looking for a talented photographer.

Surprise Engagement Shoot During Sail in Newport!

Hilary was by far the best photographer we have worked with! She captured a surprise proposal during a sail in the best way! She helped my fiancé plan every detail (we are from NJ and got engaged in Newport, RI). She took many different shots (some while hanging from the boom!!) and had champagne ready for us as we sailed the Newport Harbor! The pictures were FABULOUS! Hilary is so sweet and so talented, she’s an absolute pleasure to work with. She made our engagement very special! We highly recommend! Thank you, Hilary for everything!

Hilary is fantastic!

Working with Hilary and her team has been an absolutely fantastic experience and I can't recommend her enough. Hilary first met Arash, my husband, and I in 2016 at my friends wedding in BI and we both knew right then that she would be our wedding photographer one day! We love her style. She's professional and approachable, and really works to understand what's important to the bride and groom. For our wedding we wanted a lot of candid photos and she did just that. We received our photos a few weeks ago and we are obsessed! They are beautiful and she did an excellent job capturing all the special moments of our wedding day.

What makes Hilary really amazing is her attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond. We didn't want to do engagement photos but she still took the time to meet with us in August and see the place where we were getting married. She even did a fun, impromptu photo shoot so we had a few photos to remember the special day. Arash is Persian, so on the day of our wedding Hilary made sure to capture all the Persian decorations and the special moments during our ceremony that were really important to my in-laws. After the wedding, Hilary checked in with us frequently, keeping us updated on when the photos would be ready and sharing a few 'sneak peeks' every week as small surprises of what was to come. When the actual photos were ready, she sent us a handwritten card and sparkling wine to celebrate as we looked through them. She's thoughtful and puts a personal touch on everything she does. It makes a huge difference and truly sets her apart.

Hilary and the work she and her team did for our wedding will always hold such a special place in our heart! We will continue to stay in touch and work with her, and I can't recommend her enough. She is a talent!

Great photos!

Hilary did a wonderful job with our wedding photos! She captured great memories of every part of our wedding (first look, ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, etc.). She was very organized and made sure she asked what we wanted photos of, who we wanted photos with, and where we wanted to take them. She even took the time to visit the venue with us and do a walkthrough of different places we could take photos the day of. Thanks to Hilary we have a ton of beautiful pictures from our wedding day we will cherish forever!

Hilary photographed our engagement and was amazing to work with! She worked so closely with my fiancé to find the perfect place to propose and make it so memorable. She made us feel so comfortable as she shot with us and the pictures she took are absolutely stunning. We have seen previews and can’t wait to get all of the pictures!! She disguised herself perfectly; I had NO clue she was there for us. We would highly recommend Hilary to everyone in the Newport area... she’s amazing, so professional, and makes herself so available to you before, during, and after the shoot!

Where do I begin? Hilary is amazing. Her artistry and vision are unmatched. She is a breath of fresh air to work with, responsive, and professional. We used her for our maternity photos and they came out amazing. We didn’t know anything about the area so she picked the perfect location AND time so we caught the sunset just right! Wish we had known about her for our wedding. She is really top notch. We are even going to try to plan another trip up to Newport just so we can have photos taken by her again!

Hilary was just outstanding. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a proposal aboard one of the schooners, the Madeleine, as we cruised Narragansett Bay at sunset. We live in Florida and Hilary was wonderfully responsive to my many questions over the internet in order to make sure she could do what I was asking. She was excellent at disguising her purpose for being aboard on the day of the event and shot so many fantastic images that we spent quite awhile trying to choose the right ones for our announcements and to print for our walls and offices. Not only did she give me all the right tips for where to be at the right time on a sailing yacht full of ropes and lines, which will look weird if they are sticking out of your head in a shot lol, but she even stayed after the cruise to catch some spectacular late sunset/evening shots along the wharf. I knew that my proposal would be a special day that we would want to have memories of for the rest of our lives and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect professional to make those memories for us. I am forever grateful to Hilary and her work!

Hilary made our small intimate wedding really come together. She listened to our ideas of what we were looking for and also had so much professional knowledge to share. We were really blessed to have found Hilary. She is a pleasure to work with and has an exquisite talent. I felt as if we were working with a friend. She went above and beyond to take our wedding photos and they came out breathtaking. I would highly recommend to have her involved for the most important days of your life. Beyond being such a talented photographer she has a great personality, we hope to use her again in the future for other special moments.

Hilary did a wonderful job capturing our proposal! The photos were beautiful and she was so gracious throughout the shoot. I was even late getting to the proposal spot and Hilary waited with my fiancé until I arrived. We are very happy and would definitely hire her again!

Hillary was so gerat!!! We got engaged at Castle Hill Inn and I wanted it to be a surprise. She was able to capture every moment from when we entered the lawn to the time i got down on one knee. After the proposal we had an awesome photo shoot with the light tower and water in the background. She was very adventurous climbing on all the rocks helping us get the best pictures.

Hilary was so enthusiastic through the entire wedding process. It is evident that she truly loves what she does and she has stunning photos that show it. My husband and I have known Hilary before we even got engaged so it was only natural for us to want her to photograph our wedding.

Hilary was very patient with us as well as giving us great suggestions for our first look photos. She was also extremely organized and knew exactly the photos we wanted when it came to the wedding, it was almost as if she knew our wedding guests.

On our wedding day, we had Hilary and her two assistants, Ashley & Jessica. They were not intrusive in any way which was something we were a little concerned about. They all were very upbeat and a pleasure to spend the day with.

We continue to get compliments on how beautiful the photos are from our wedding. Hilary captured everything perfectly. She even made some photo magic with an indoor sunset after the rainy weather made it impossible for a sunset photo.

I met Hilary at the Newport Bridal Expo and I knew immediately she was the photographer I wanted to work with. She was the only one that day that asked me questions and wanted to actually hear the answers. We spent a lot of time chatting and once I contacted her to set up a time to go over a plan/package it was seemless. My fiancé loved her as well and we really had fun setting everything up. Our engagement session was really fun and something we won't ever forget. I highly recommend Hilary for her down to earth personality and amazing photography skills. Hilary did such an amazing job on our engagement photos! When I was looking for a photographer I first looked at pricing, but once I saw some of Hilary's other work I knew I had to have her do mine. For me it was such a good experience. The whole time I was planning the photos with Hilary, I was all the in Minnesota. Even though I never got to sit down and talk with get prior to the photo shoot, she still knew how to get all the best photos for my surprise engagement.

Hilary Block is much more than an incredible photographer. She helps organize every detail for your wedding, and gives you excellent advice throughout the planning process. Hilary is very professional, responsive, and organized. We began the process by taking engagement pictures with her, which were the absolute best photographs of my husband and I that we've ever had. We were married on Block Island a week ago, and Hilary went above and beyond any other photographers I have ever seen. She spent the weekend with us, even attending our rehearsal the night before and giving us a better idea of the order of the ceremony for the next day. We truly enjoyed having Hilary there for our special day, and by the end of the weekend, it felt like she was part of our family. She is worth every penny!!! Thank you Hilary!

Hilary and her colleague Desiree were wonderful! They present themselves as friends who really care about all aspects of the wedding events. Hilary and Desiree went above and beyond taking gorgeous photos by also involving themselves in planning, problem solving and creative ideas. As mother of the groom, I know our groomsmen were a bit concerned about feeling uncomfortable having a photographer at the house before the wedding, and this turned out to be completely untrue! Desiree somehow managed to become an immediate part of the family, keeping everyone focused and calm while taking photos. Hilary B is the way to go!!!!

This was the first time we reached out to a vendor in Newport because we were not familiar with any photographers in the area since we are from New York and only vacation there throughout the year. We decided to have our daughters Christening in Newport and needed a photographer asap so we looked up photographers in the area and random selected Hillary B from the internet. Best selection ever! Hillary was nothing short of AMAZING! Her professionalism and continuity with capturing beautiful photos throughout our event was more than we ever expected. We highly recommend her for any event. Hilary took my bridal portraits at the Glen Manor House. I knew that I wanted to have bridal portraits taken prior to the wedding, but I was a bit lost after that. Bridal portraits are far more prominent in Southern bridal culture, and as my husband is from South Carolina, I wanted to honor that tradition. Hilary was amazing. She led me through the entire process from pinpointing exactly what I wanted in a portrait to finding a space that would suit my aesthetic. She suggested my mother come and we had a great afternoon sipping champagne, taking pictures and laughing. My bridal portraits hang in my mother and my mother-in-laws houses. Hilary was wonderful- I highly recommend her services.

The West Bay Family YMCA has worked with Hilary for four years now as the photographer for our annual fundraiser event. Hilary donates her servies each year, however, she treats us just like a high paying customer. Her pictures are immpecible and she captures the feel of the night perfectly!

Our experience with Hilary B. Photography has been exceptional. Throughout the entire planning, wedding, and post-wedding process the services can be summed up simply by saying that she goes the extra mile. The vast majority of our big day was planned by us ourselves, and she had the perfect eye to capture everything we had imagined. Aside from her professionalism and quality of work, she is also fun and a joy to work with. She was completely open to our ideas and vision for our pictures and provided plenty ideas of her own. We had a destination-style wedding in a place that she had never worked, and she took it upon herself to pre-scout the area and plan the shots for the big day. This was an especially nice touch. Throughout the 2+ years that we have now been working with Hilary (from our very first meeting to our current discussions about album layouts), Hilary continues to surprise us with what she brings to the table and she hasn't once disappointed. With her images, we are sure to have priceless images of our big day forever.

Lemme just start by saying Hilary is amazing. On our special day, our original photographer cancelled us and on a whim I called Hilary just a couple hours beforehand. She was so enthusiastic and put all of our worries at ease! AND she gave us a coupon!! The pictures turned out completely beautiful and I will always treasure them ;-) On top of all that, she is totally fun and creative. Even on a gloomy and overcast day, our pictures reflect our loveylovey happy mood :-D IT WAS SO PERFECT!!

Hilary was very flexible and extremely easy to work with. She listened to and considered all our ideas although almost without exception we went with her expert advice. Our photographs were superb and could really not be faulted in any way .... we were delighted with them all!

We highly recommend Hilary and will return to her for our next big event!

Hilary was incredibly sweet, helpful, and genuinely excited to photograph my wedding. I feel more direction and communication between bride and photographer would make for a seamless day to capture every moment. Hilary was an excellent photographer for our wedding at the Glen Manor in Portsmouth, RI. She took the time to meet with us at the site prior to the wedding to make sure she knew how the event would go and where the key photos should be taken, and also gave use some great ideas! We love, love, love our family photo's taken by Hilary! She chose a great venue that allowed us to capture some really incredible moments with our 10 month old son. His personality shines right through in the photos and you can tell he had a blast. Hilary was great to work with, incredibly flexible with scheduling around the baby.
