JP (Jonathan) was fantastic to deal with when it came to our lighting for our wedding, he found a way for the lights to match our color scheme. He also surprised us with a light projection with our names on it for the dance floor. He is very professional and accommodating and I would recommend his services. -

The Birthday Party was perfect. JP (Owner), and his crew did a spectacular job setting up our house for our sons Nerf gun war, on his birthday. He came in, got a feel for our house, too our thoughts into consideration, and offered up a few of his own, and then he magically turned out house into a blacklighted Nerf war zone. Every room was sectioned off, with obstacles to hide behind, and secret areas to hide. My son said it was the absolute best birthday party he's never had. I could do nothing but agree. Thank you, JP, and the crew from Highlights, for making this a party to remember. -

Shalini Sent on 07/20/2018I am overjoyed that my wedding planner connected me with Jonathan from Highlights Colorado. I don't live in Colorado, so I only have a very short window of time to meet him. He had another build that day in Wyoming, so he made sure to come down to my side of town in Centennial early in the morning to meet me on my limited schedule. We had a chat that was about 30 minutes, where I described my vision of an Indian wedding with one very basic and incomplete picture. From there, Jonathan told me what he could do. He was a creative and collaborative partner and you can tell how passionate he is his work. We agreed on an approach to the event design, and his estimate was about double what we had budgeted. He soon realized that I couldn't afford the ideal that we discussed, so he ended up giving me a steep discount.
I didn't talk to Jonathan at all after that day. My mother met him at the walk-through and mentioned that he is a highly preferred vendor at our wedding venue-- Spruce Mountain Ranch. This was a relief to me because the venue is highly particular about attaching design elements to the walls and ceilings and I know it can be a challenge. I didn't want to get charged by the venue for my event design damaging their building!
The day of our wedding was extremely chaotic, so we didn't get to see the event design until we did our grand entrance-- and WOW! Jonathan knocked it out of the park. You can see his perfectionism in the design and I could tell that he even threw in extra lighting (for free without telling us) in order to ensure that the room looked perfect. For an out-of-town, Indian, budget wedding, I am truly astonished by what he was able to do for us. I would whole-heartedly recommend his services to anyone looking for a creative, easy going, and efficient event design professional!

I am very grateful I hired Highlights colorado for my event. They went out of there way to make sure the event ran smoothly. I will always hire Highlights. They do it all from lighting, decor,sound and much more. They have done many events for me. I will say they are very affordable as well. -

For my 17th birthday party I got a lot of things I wanted. He set it up wonderfully. There was a little movie room with bean bags, then a dance room with beautiful lighting and drape. Plus a DJ which was great. The place was beautiful and I had a great experience working with him! -

To start off, JP had the worst communication of any vendor we had, taking days to respond to a simple question. I’m going to try to save everyone from the trauma we had to experience working with Johnathan (Highlights Colorado). We had booked JP to do our wedding decor 6 months in advance. In the beginning, felt great about working with him and he had good designs/ideas for us. A couple months later, he tells us he lost a vendor and that he couldn’t provide the floral/chairs for us and asked us to find that on our own. First of all, it was HIS vendor that he lost and HIS responsible for finding HIS own replacement, but told us to find our own replacement. After we did in fact, find our own vendor for floral/chairs, we restructured the deal. He kept our original 60% deposit and wanted to call it good when the floral/chairs account for more than 60% so we asked for a refund and he agreed to refund us. Fast forward to THE WEEK OF the wedding, I texted JP for the refund he owed us. Two days later and 4 days until the wedding, he bailed on us completely. Professional right? No, literally the worst case scenario possible. Not only that, it took he two whole days to finally refund our money after completing bailing on us and disregarded the contract HE had signed. Totally unprofessional and would not recommend to anyone. Not worth the headache. -

Highlights and Johnathan failed to perform. The provided lights that weren't charged, have (to date) refused to provide a refund for the services not rendered. Would not use them again. -

I contracted JP to produce a custom piece. He insisted on getting paid up front to pay for the supplies. Once he was paid I hardly heard from him. When I finally did he proceeded to tell me that he would only rent the items to me for the same price I paid for purchase. After much debate he agreed to credit me back. Instead of doing anything he said he would, he sent me an inflated invoice for nearly the same amount as the purchase price without refunding any of my money. I do not recommend working with this guy. In addition to all of this he again charged my credit card without my consent which I had to dispute. -

One of my clients hired Highlights for quite a bit of work (lighting & chandeliers) for her daughter's tented wedding this past September. The tent was setup days before the wedding with lighting to go up shortly after. Jonathan's team had to come back 3 days in a row to finish or fix things that weren't working. My husband and I finally ended up going to the venue hours early the morning of the wedding to replace all of the chandelier bulbs (after chandeliers that WEREN'T what the client paid for were installed) and try to rig it with a new dimmer. We never ended up getting the chandeliers to work and my client paid hundreds of dollars to buy market lights to make sure our tent was properly lit for the evening. Jonathan never came to the venue himself to try and fix anything, nor did he communicate when all of this was happening. The workers he sent were incredibly young and under-prepared, everyone had to borrow my client's ladders and supplies which thank goodness they had. When we tried to get in touch to get some sort of refund, Jonathan was MIA. Both my client and I called, texted, and emailed for weeks upon weeks with very sporadic and inadequate responses. The check that was "sent" as a refund never arrived to my client. I am blown away by the lack of respect for Highlight's clients and fellow vendors. We all make mistakes but there was no effort made to right any of the wrongs and the customer service was next to nothing. Will not be recommending to any future clients.
