August 26, 2023 - Our Dream Wedding

Julie and her team at High Performance Lighting made our wedding weekend dream come true. HPL was a part of our welcome party and a huge part of our big special tented reception. Our August 26, 2023 wedding at the Beaufort Hotel was everything we dreamed of and all thanks to HPL for playing a huge role in this. Julie was the best to work with as we wanted different and unique items used for our lighting in our reception tent, and Julie was able to custom order exactly what we wanted. They even helped us customize our bar with a special rigging for floral as well as special rigging throughout the whole reception tent. Julie and her team knew exactly what they were doing and we knew that we would be in great hands from the very beginning. Our lighting and event production design was exceeded perfectly! We couldn’t not ask for a better experience with High Performance Lighting.

So Amazing!

We are so glad we chose to work with High Performance for our wedding. Julie was great to deal with and made the rental process go smoothly. We went with the 6' Geo Square and 5 Bamboo Shades (Leyla, Harbor, Dome, 2-Stone). This was hung over our dance floor and truly elevated the room!

High performance was amazing. We used their square Edison board with dangly lights and it was INCREDIBLE!! They were so easy to work with and I highly recommend them! You can tell they care about their product.

Professional and easy

Very easy to work with, was immediately put at ease that they would deliver on what we wanted and took into account any special circumstances that might arise (if it rained, making a tent pretty for a ceremony). Highly recommend.

Awesome service and execution

Julie was one of the most helpful and delightful people we had the pleasure of working with to plan our wedding. And this team knocked it out of the park on the wedding draping and lighting. I appreciated see the inventory ahead of time at their showroom. They even went out of their way to make sure we got the best value for our budget, including a cost share with a wedding ahead of ours at the same venue and recommending a smaller (but still grand) floral chandelier to better fit our venue space.

They lit up our world

High Performance Lighting did an excellent job providing all of our lighting needs for our Wrightsville Manor wedding. From the edison bulb string lights in the courtyard to the chandeliers dangling from the Oak trees where we had our ceremony, everything was perfect.

Beautiful Lighting!

High Performance Lighting helped with our wedding two weekends ago. They did SUCH a beautiful job. They took care of the set up and take down. We were just able to enjoy the Edison lighting and hanging square board over our dance floor. I am SO very grateful for everything they did! They went above and beyond what they were hired to do, and I couldn’t be more appreciative for the work they did. I would definitely recommend working with HPL!

Awesome to work with

High performance lighting helped add that unique and romantic touch to our wedding. Everything was perfect I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day. They even helped hang the chandelier my mother in law made which went perfectly with their copper drums against the brick.

Exceptional design and service

We booked HPL for our wedding, and it was such a great decision! HPL was easy to work with, kind, and helpful throughout the whole process of planning our wedding. Their creative touch was just what we needed to bring our vision to life and created a warm, romantic vibe at our venue. We met with them to view lighting options for bulbs, chandeliers, lanterns, etc. They truly are experts at what they do. We had to reschedule our original wedding date due to Hurricane Florence. HPL was kind, empathetic, and helped us promptly rebook. My favorite design element for our wedding was a wall of hanging lights/greenery (they worked with our florist, Fiore) that was absolutely beautiful. Guests were commenting about how pretty it was all night. I highly recommend HPL to every bride in Wilmington.

That chandelier!

High performance was super friendly and very helpful in the design process. I told them the look I was going for and they executed it perfectly! At one point I wanted to add uplighting but they said it would wash out my twinkle lights and take away from the look! It meant a lot that they were honest with me. Looking back I realized it would have washed out my beautiful twinkle lights. HPL helped me achieve my perfectly lit romantic wedding. I would highly recommend them!

High Performance is THE place to go to if you need lighting for your wedding. They are extremely affordable, professional, and super helpful. These guys are great to work with, especially when it comes to weddings in the Wilmington area. We used them for our ceremony at The Atrium and reception at 128 South and the immediately knew what we were looking for and what looked good in the space. They were able to work with us on our budget and find a solution that matched what we had budgeted and still kept our vision for both venues. They are also super responsive, and you can tell they are very knowledge regarding all the venues and vendors in the Wilmington area. We would definitely suggest HPL!

All I can say is that the lighting sets the tone. High Performance Lighting did an amazing job professionally done easy to use. Great service. If your on the fence about lighting or this company I highly recommend them. We had an out door beach wedding it turned out beautiful. Worth the money!!

Choosing High Performance Lighting was hands down the best decision I have ever made !!! Let me start by saying Mrs. Myrtle is the sweetest lady I have ever met in my whole life!!!! Honestly I feel like I hit the jackpot with her and this company. Over the year and a half of planning my wedding I have grown to have a wonderful relationship with Mrs. Myrtle as she feels like a family member to me. She made the planning process so easy and I am one that is so indecisive and even after changing my mind a million times she didn't say one thing out of the way to me about changing my mind a million times. I stopped by many times To sit and talk to her and go over the plans for my lighting and I enjoyed just sitting and talking to her . My chandeliers and uplights at my reception looked like a fairytale and was what made the whole room look absolutely amazing!!! She even stopped by on the day of my wedding at the reception to check on me and to make sure things were going great!! You can't ask for better customer service than what she gives. She was absolutely my favorite vendor that I got the pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to everyone!!!! They go above and beyond with excellent service and beautiful ideas to make your wedding day a fairytale dream come true!!!

High performance was great! I only used them for Edison bulbs under the tent at 128 South, but they looked great! They were also on time for setting up. They are a little bit pricier than other lighting companies in the area but they are very professional and they have such a good reputation that I decided to use them and I'm very glad. One less thing to worry about!

High performance lighting was absolutely wonderful! They did the lighting for my daughters wedding and it was beautiful. My advise is to book these guys! Rob and Steve truly held my hand, gave me great advise and didn't oversell me. They even told me what I didn't need that I thought I did. I chose HPL after combing through reviews, lighting website photos and Pinterest pins of actual receptions. At our initial meeting I requested a style and combination of lighting I had seen on the internet. After attending Wilmington’s Courtyard and Cobblestone’s event, I saw lots of other lighting options that HPL had set up at different wedding venues and changed my mind about what would be best for my daughter’s reception. I had no idea about the variety HPL offered! I met again with Regina and was able to take a look back in the storage area. Regina helped me design the perfect look for my daughter’s wedding, not a copycat of one that had been done before. There was no high pressure sales pitch to increase what I rented either. She just really wanted my vision to be achieved. Everything on the wedding day was set up perfectly at Bakery 105!

I feel like giving them 5/5 gives the appearance that I want to just breeze through this review and pick the easiest options but that is so not the case. HPL deserves every spec of these 5 stars! Steve and his team were so easy to work with and extremely flexible with all of our new ideas. I swear my mom and I said out loud to each other on multiple occasions "I think these are the nicest people I've ever met..." You will not regret going with HPL for your lighting and décor needs. I had tears in my eyes walking into my reception and seeing what they had accomplished.

Our wedding was outside in a tent and High Performance provided all of our lighting. We had Edison bulbs streamed all around our venue...it was perfect. Turned out just how we pictured! Very easy to work with! Thank you!

We rented extra lighting, this gorgeous Edison Bulb wooden hanger to server as the back drop for our ceremony and a large black wire chandelier that we filled with flowers. It turned out perfect! High performance lighting was communicative throughout and worked with our wedding coordinator for drop of and pick up. We didn't even need to communicate with them day of because everything was taken care of ahead of time. We visited the show room and they have tons to offer!

High Performance Lighting set up our lighting at our wedding venue, the tent on the deck was gorgeous with twinkle lights and chandeliers for the ceremony; once the evening began with dancing under the tent it was even more brilliant with the lights mimicking the stars outside. I had to arrange my vendors via phone as I live across the country and was planning the wedding for Wilmington. High Performance was courteous, professional and designed a lovely event just by discussing it over the phone, they are experts at their profession and made the venue gloriously beautiful!

Loved working with High Performance! They were always very responsive and of course, their lighting at my reception was beautiful. I had a wooden chandelier piece over the dance floor wrapped in greenery and it brought the entire room together. There was also an event at the same location as my reception a few days prior and they threw in the lighting for that event for free! Would highly recommend!

High Performance Lighting was great to work with and did an excellent job lighting the courtyard for our wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center. We choose HPL because they come highly recommended as are so familiar with the Wilmington venues. We knew we could trust them to do a phenomenal job and they came through 100%. They provided beautiful string lighting for our wedding and also went above and beyond by hanging draping and a custom typography flag for us in the venue (which they figured out how to do for us when we couldn't!) Without question I would hire them again and recommend them to others.

High Performance Lighting did an excellent job for the wedding weekend. After discussion with Regina, we only ended up using Edison Lights, but once the decision was made, all arrangements for installation were done with the event coordinator.
Since we had a Welcome Party on Friday night and the Reception on Sat, they installed the lighting on Thursday so we really got a 2 for 1 deal. The lighting added so much to the ambiance of the evening and I was so happy we went to the expense of getting them.
I could not have been more pleased with my interaction with HP and the professionalism they displayed.

There is no other way to describe high performance lighting other than perfect. They worked with me beautifuly through the whole process and came through on my day better than I could have dreamed. The whole team is great, every other vendor in the area knows them and has worked with them so the integration was seamless. I used Edison lights and up lighting with them and they even worked with my budget when I thought I'd have to cut out the uplighting 2 weeks before my wedding. They gave me a fantastic deal so my dream wedding could come true. I owe them so much.

I had the best experience with Ms. Myrtle and Steve at High Performance! They both exceeded my expectations from the beginning to the end! Steve and his team provided gobo lighting for the dance floor and a special effect lighting that gave an ocean wave effect at my reception. This was perfect for my beach wedding and reception! They also provided me with the generator needed for my beach ceremony.

Ms. Myrtle made me feel as if I was her only client. I really appreciate her patience with my many changes and her effective communication. I HIGHLY recommend using High Performance! You will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough about the staff from High Performance Lighting. My daughter got married along the Cape Fear River at Watermark Marina and we clearly weren't on the same page when we went to discuss lighting. Regina was so patient with us. Over weeks she sent pictures and gave us feedback on various lighting plans but never made us feel obligated or pressured. Their selection was beautiful with a variety of different options. In the end we went with Arbors and simple lamp lighting. We set up banquet tables for dinner seating underneath and around the arbors. We hung lanterns and Spanish moss from the top of the arbors and along with the lamp posts that created soft but ample lighting, we were able to create the magical atmosphere we had hoped for. They were even flexible with the set up time to allow us to decorate without time constraints. Highly recommend.

If you're wanting a great quality, wonderful company for all your lighting needs - High Performance Lighting is the WAY TO GO!! They were so unbelievably kind to both me and my husband as we were planning our wedding. They answered any questions we had, no matter how many emails we sent over. Everyone at High Performance lighting was very polite over email, on the phone, and in person. And they were so flexible! A hurricane came through the day before our wedding - and the day before that, they called us and were very respectful of our confusion and frustration on what to do. During the entire process when we had to change things, they worked with us and were extremely flexible. And last, but definitely not least, the lighting was ABSOLUTELY beautiful for our wedding!! Great to work with ahead of time. Everything looked great. We lost power to the fans for the start of our event for a period of time (huge downpour an hour before event), but they came and fixed the problem when called. Steve was very concerned when I told him of the time (45 min- an hour) we spent sweating (outdoor event--in the 90's) and was willing to work with us on cost. We lost time being unable to contact them quickly, so they are trying to have their phone # somewhere on equipment.

I had talked to High Performance kind of last minute for lighting at my venue after deciding that I wanted some Edison lights both inside the reception space over the dance floor and under the tent on the patio outside. HPL did an amazing job at our wedding! Out of all of our decorations, the lights stole the show! We were particularly difficult customers to work with because we wanted to purchase some our lights and then have HPL install them on the day. There was a lot of back and forth about which lights to buy and HPL gave their opinions on what we had found and what needed to be changed. They helped us through the whole process! Not only that, but when they actually received the lights we purchased, there was writing all over the lights that didn't look good. HPL spent time with acetone literally rubbing the words off of our lights by hand for I think 3 boxes full in order for those lights to look perfect! The rest of the lights, they decided to use their own lights, which we had not rented, without charging us, because their lights didn't have writing on them!! Can we talk about over the op, amazing service! Wow! Thank you so much for what you did to make our lights and decorations so perfect! You all went way above and beyond and I cannot say thank you enough for all you did to make our lights perfect for our big day! Also, I haven't talked to a single person about our wedding that hasn't mentioned the beautiful curtain lights around our tent!! It MADE the tent!! THANK YOU!

High Performance Lighting is amazing. The lighting you choose for your venue can make a huge impact on the space and is well worth every penny. Their set-up for Bakery 105 really takes the space to the next level. We chose an Edison light curtain on the back wall and Edison lights over the dance floor and cocktail space outside. The lights provided a romantic feel and were truly beautiful. The folks at HPL were always quick to answer all of my e-mails and were INCREDIBLY patient with me when I could not make up my mind with what lighting to choose - and when I changed my mind several times. Steve and the team were wonderful to work with! They were prompt with their feedback and responses and provided both our venue and our reception area with chandeliers and Edison lights. Both of my venues highly recommended using High Performance and now I know why! Thank you guys for helping make my day so magical!

High performance provided such beautiful lighting that really helped bring the romantic look of our venue forward. Their service is impeccable, and have it down to an art. For any lighting needs, I would highly recommend them. I have never felt as comfortable in a vendor as I did with them!

The lighting from HPL for our June outdoor wedding was absolutely gorgeous!! I described the lights I wanted and they brought it to life. I would definitely recommend them!!

High Performance Lighting came recommended through our venue, and they did a great job! The Edison lighting looked great and we were very happy with the service. Easy to work with and very reasonably priced.

My wedding planner advised me from day 1 that lighting is something that is often overlooked but has a huge impact in wedding design, and I'm so glad I listened! I had Edison lighting at my wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center -- it added such great ambiance and was a great touch for a minimal budget. Steve's team was very easy to work with and helped me come up with great ideas - would highly recommend them! Thank you!!
