What a wonderful experience our couple had at this Wedding Venue. The new owners have really thought of everything. From landscaped gardens for the ceremony site to the natural wooded area complete with a bridge for the perfect 1st look location. The venue has an amazing bridal suite complete with a Hair and Makeup lounge with beauty chairs and lit mirrors all the plugs anyone could need. There is also a Grooms Sport recreation area for them to be kept separate from the bridal party and in total "guy" comfort. The Golf Simulator and the full sized pool tables shows they didn't skimp on any of the luxuries. Andrea is generous and attentive and so helpful. I would work with them anytime. They accommodated our couple's wishes and showed their passion for what they do. I will be referring all my Michigan Brides to Hidden Grove Estate and know they will see the magic too! -

Wedding Venue
We said “I Do” to Hidden Grove Estate and couldn’t be more excited! After reading previous reviews I almost didn’t inquire, but something told me to reach out and I am so glad that I did! HGE is under new ownership and Andrea has been nothing short of amazing to work with! She has been super helpful, kind, responsive, and accommodating throughout the process thus far. I can’t express how happy we are with our decision to choose HGE as our wedding venue and we look forward to continuing to work with Andrea! -

Wonderful Venue!
Lorie was wonderful with responding and helping my big day be as stress free as possible! The rooms were perfect for those who stayed the night. Breakfast was always ready to go, delicious, and hot. Any time anyone had a question someone was there to help right away. She does stay on the property however you don’t even know someone is there! I would 110% recommend this for a wedding venue. I do not have many photos of the inside however the outdoor wedding we had was perfect!! So much room for my guest to sit and the photos turned out amazing. There is a river and a bridge that is wonderful to take photos on as well! It was such a big help that you are only responsible for the decorations you want. They set up all the tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception which is such a lifesaver! -

Excellent! Lorie is wonderful to work with. We had to postpone our wedding 3 times due to covid and she worked with us all through it. The place is beautiful the grounds are just gorgeous and the hospitality is supreme! Definitely highly recommend! -

The Wheatfield Inn exceeded all of our expectations!
We started out with a three-year engagement for the very reason to make proper preparations for our big day. We wanted to take our time and pick the best of the best when it came to our vendors from our wedding coordinator to our photographer. The venue was no different, we wanted the best for our size of the wedding, approx 100 total (They can accommodate up to 150 however). Most venues limited us to "their package." In other words, we had to use their food service, their bartender their DJ, get the point? We wanted to use who WE chose, again the best of the best. Simply put, the Wheatfield Inn was extremely accommodating! We rented the Inn for the entire weekend and it was perfect for the wedding and reception! No driving to the reception after the ceremony! Not only that, but the Inn had rooms for most of our wedding party to stay in for two nights and their breakfast menu is gourmet quality! Lorri and staff was a dream to work with, they along with our vendors made a weekend and wedding day that will never be forgotten! Very elegant and very beautiful! If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue, we strongly recommend talking to Lorri. You won't be sorry! Their attention to detail is unsurpassed and just like you, she wants your wedding day to be perfect... -

Wonderful Weekend
Great venue. My husband and I as well as our bridal party loved being able to stay right at the property. The weekend package allowed us to have rehearsal dinner there, decorate and set up Friday night and I stayed Friday night with my bridesmaids. We woke up to a wonderful breakfast provided by the Inn and then got ready for my big day! -

Great value in a beautiful location
We had our wedding at the Wheatfield Inn and it was amazing. We went for the platinum package and it is definitely a great value. It was so nice to have the whole place to ourselves for Friday evening for rehearsal, then stay the night and have it for the wedding day, and then sleep just upstairs after the reception. Breakfast is also provided both days and it was great! We were affected by the pandemic and moved from May to August and even quickly had to replan the reception to outdoors on short notice, but we were able to come to a plan together to get it to work outside. We had a small wedding and we had the best time. I'll cherish the memories we made at the Wheatfield Inn! -

10/10 Would NOT recommend The property is beautiful, but my experience surrounding my wedding was deeply disappointing and extremely stressful. In the weeks leading up to the event, new restrictions were introduced after our contract was signed, limiting décor and add-ons we had already planned AND paid for. Some add-on pricing also increased close to the wedding date without notice. Pricing just increased as much as she implemented regardless of what it was when the contract was signed. On the morning of my wedding — while I was in makeup — I received a call demanding a $500 fee be paid asap and in cash. I asked if it could be deducted from the $1,000 deposit paid the day before and was told “no”. Being pressured for payment on my wedding morning was overwhelming and unnecessary. I was literally in the makeup chair get hounded for more money due to their oversight. There was Zero compassion shown for me as a bride! Throughout the event, staff focused heavily on rule enforcement rather than support. My catering team struggled with load-in due to the layout, and when they asked to use an unused utility cart on-site, they were denied. Vendors were given an extensive list of strict cleaning rules the week of the wedding. There were no trash cans placed outside during cocktail hour, yet I was later charged for any every small item found on the ground. Very petty and penny pinching was the name of the game. As a Black bride, I did not feel welcomed or supported. A comment from the owner, Andrea, was made to my white wedding planner referencing this being their “first ALL Black wedding,” which added to my discomfort. My wedding planner told me the day before my wedding that she was uncomfortable with the owners attitude towards my wedding party. Every vendor I used with the exception of the Photo Booth, came to me with complaints regarding the owners attitude. I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed. Weddings should feel joyful and supported. Unfortunately, my experience felt tense, monitored, and financially pressured at multiple points. This negative experience absolutely affected my wedding day! I would not recommend. This is my honest account of what occurred.

If you are black, don’t walk but RUN! The owner of this establishment was an absolute dream to meet but a nightmare to work with around the time of my wedding! She made every vendor I had uncomfortable including my white wedding planner, whom she told “This is my first all black wedding” . My guests and I were watched like a hawk thee entire wedding day and evening. Her staff demanded to be fed before my guests and even argued with my catering staff. There was not a single trash can outside for the cocktail hour or near the smoking area but I was charged for cigarettes on the ground. My bartender, catering team, and Dj received an extremely thick rule book the week of the wedding that enforced the strictest cleaning procedures that they had ever seen. They had to bring outside cleaning supplies due to the many required deep cleaning rules.If ANYTHING is left in the grass from your wedding party, you will be charged. The staff is not there to help, I repeat not there to help. They are there to enforce only. My catering team had an extremely difficult time bringing in their food, service items, and cleaning equipment due to the setup of the entrance and small kitchen. When my catering team was struggling to bring all of their items in they discovered that the staff had a utility cart with wheels not in use and of course the staff said “No” once again. It truly felt like no one was there to make our day feel special, easier, and absolutely not happy. They treated the day like they were simply there to inspect, enforce, and charge us more money!
On the morning of my wedding I was called by Andrea WHILE IN MAKEUP and charged $500 (I think that was the amount) fee…. And then she demanded that she receive it within an hour of her calling me. It was an oversight on HER part but yet I was expected to get it to her right away…. In CASH! I asked could she take it out of the $1000 deposit that she received the day before and the answer was “no, I rather use that money for anything that will go wrong during your wedding”. Again, no regard for the bride or groom! The worst part of my experience was the many rules that were made AFTER I signed our contract that blocked the many of things that I payed to have. I read her book of rules thoroughly and only when I would request to have something, i.e a decal or dance floor or fog would it become a problem which turned into a new rule. In no way did they try to make the experience pleasant, the word NO seemed to be the only one used with us. She also raised prices on all of her add-ons closer to my wedding so be careful with those details as well. The bottom line is exactly what Andrea told my wedding planner…. She is simply not comfortable or experienced servicing a fully black wedding at her establishment. She was extremely off putting and my experience as a bride was extremely negative in the weeks leading up to and most importantly ON my wedding day. Every single vendor I had with the exception of my photography team felt like this was the worse wedding venue they had ever experienced. They literally pulled me to the side one by one with a list of complaints regarding the staff and how they were being treated. This is not the place for you if your guests or vendors are more than 50% black or if you would like to do anything out of the ordinary that is posted on her page. Ethnic weddings, run!
