The Best Band!

This band absolutely rocked my wedding! They brought incredible energy and a solid song selection aligned with my preferences that had everyone up on the dance floor. Jimmy and his crew are very talented and friendly. I appreciate them traveling all the way from Chicago to Cleveland for my special night. Their performance was sensational, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Hey Jimmy is Outstanding!

Hey Jimmy gave us the night of our life. They are so talented in everything they do. They are very easy to work with and will provide anything you need. They went above and beyond the entire night to make sure our guests were entertained and happy. They are overall excellent people. We had so much fun with Hey Jimmy at our wedding, I hope to see them live again!

Great Time All Around

Hey Jimmy did a wonderful job with our wedding. We had a Jazz Trio during cocktail hour which was beautiful. Once dancing began Hey Jimmy did a great job knowing exactly what to play and the dance floor was always bumping.
Hey Jimmy was fun too as they didnt even mind our rowdy guests that wamted to dance on stage with them at times. I would reccomend them to anyone who wants their wedding to be a great time!

Hey Jimmy Made Our Wedding Special

From planning to performance, Hey Jimmy really shines. We had some very specific requests that they not only accommodated, but went beyond our expectations. With their energetic performance the dance floor was packed from start to finish. Our guests gave us a lot of great feedback about how great the band was as well as requests for their contact info which is the best compliment.

Best band in Chicago PERIOD!!

Hey Jimmy is absolutely amazing!!!! They hit it out of the park for our private event. Our V.I.P. told us he saw Hey Jimmy at a wedding and was blown away. He said hire them no questions asked. Jimmy was so cool, easy to work with and humble too. Which was impressive considering who he has worked with in the music business. The singers (Nick and Christa?) were so good. What chemistry! We'll hire Hey Jimmy again next year for sure.

We couldn't be happier

Love love love Hey Jimmy. They made me feel like the bell of the ball. The dance floor was full all night and we were so happy. So many people called us afterwards and said "Who was that band?!!!! Hire them fast before someone else gets them. We beat out three other couples.

Amazing! Made our reception stand out.

Best wedding band!

When my (now) husband and I sat down to discuss important pieces we wanted to have for our wedding, having a band was definitely at the top of our list. And his first comment was Hey Jimmy! He had been to two weddings where they played and I actually had a co-worker who had them at theirs as well. It was simply a no-brainer for us and boy are we glad that we had them!

They were fun, engaging and knew how to get the crowd on the dance floor. I've had SO many people tell me how much fun they had at the wedding and it was certainly a huge part thanks to Hey Jimmy. Several people have reached out wanting their name for future events.

One of the other things I appreciated was that my dad had inquired about having a mashup of two songs for our "father-daughter" dance. Jimmy immediately went to work on putting this together and shared it with us beforehand to make sure it was perfect. I thought that was beyond thoughtful and so appreciated.

Thank you for making our day memorable and giving us some amazing memories that will last a lifetime!

Thank you Hey Jimmy - The Best

Hey Jimmy have played at a few corporate events that my husband and I have been at, so we knew we wanted them for our wedding (having a band was our splurge). Boy did they deliver! Even though we had a small wedding, the dance floor was full up until the very end. Our guests kept on talking about how great the music was (even now!). They played all of our must-haves and also played enough variety to keep everyone engaged. Having that mix is so important! Can't recommend enough.

Hey Jimmy! Had Over 200 People Dancing All Night!!!

Holy cow! That sums up Hey Jimmy! about as well as we can without using words I shouldn’t in an online review.

We booked Hey Jimmy! to play for our wedding reception and to have an acoustic group for our cocktail hour. They did both phenomenally. Guests felt welcome and invited as they arrived because Hey Jimmy! was there to greet them. And they sounded amazing.

Perhaps the biggest endorsement we can give Hey Jimmy! is that they kept over 200 (out of 250) people on the dance floor all night long. Almost as soon as Hey Jimmy! started playing around 7:00, everyone got onto the dance floor. The size of the group on the dance floor never went down, and we extended to get them to play even longer, lasting until 11:30. The groom was dancing the whole night, and he normally hates dancing! And there were so many people dancing at once that the dance floor was vibrating drinks off nearby tables.

Hey Jimmy! was able to make our party so much fun because they sounded so incredibly good and were so engaging. They mixed their sound so well that their music sounded better than any recording a DJ could have played. And because they had both a male and female vocalist, they could and did play nearly any party song imaginable. We also gave them little direction on what kind of music we wanted played, and they consistently picked the right song for the right moment. Last but not least, they were open to and excited about incorporating all of the personal touches we wanted to include along the way; they even let our cousin play DJ during a break.

Hey Jimmy! is incredible, and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone that asks who they should book as a wedding band.

Thanks to Hey Jimmy ...EPIC NYE Wedding!

From the moment the dance floor opened until the 1 AM finale, the dance floor was full. Speaks volumes of a great band. Played to the crowd all different genres - old & new. Terrific MC, vocalist, & talented musicians. Had drums, guitars, saxophone. vocalist & sound specialist working room acoustics. Jimmy met us at venue before the wedding to review introductions, logistics, & made suggestions. Also determined best room location for band. Worth every penny. Guests are still raving about the band. Highly recommend you forgo a DJ and go with them. You won't be disappointed!

Best wedding band ever!!!!

Hey Jimmy was simply amazing! They came so highly recommended. We have some celebrity friends that hired them for a VIP party and said we must have them play our wedding and we are SO glad we did. Jimmy was so professional and so sweet to work with. The dance floor was so full it spilled over on to the carpet. Everyone raved about our wedding and the band. I can't say enough great things about Hey Jimmy! The band was responsive to all of our requests for songs for our wedding reception, but they were also able to read the crowd and play songs that kept people on the dance floor all night long. People still talk to me about how much they enjoyed the band at our wedding. Hey Jimmy even went the extra mile to send a very special greeting to one of my students. I knew I wanted to hire Hey Jimmy to play our wedding when I saw them play at a friend's wedding a few years ago, and they truly exceeded my already high expectations.

We can't give Hey Jimmy a deserving review because of how much we enjoyed and appreciated them at our wedding.

We had our wedding in a tent in Central Illinois and faced thunderstorms and tornado warnings that caused delays and mid reception moves. This could easily have ruined the party but with Hey Jimmy there it was a minor blip in the night. They played whenever they could and thoroughly entertained the whole crowd. About 5 songs into the dancing portion of the night, lightning struck and the power in the tent went out. The whole part ended up moving inside (including the band!). They were willing and able to completely tear down and reset up inside to keep the party going.

It ended up being the best night and wouldn't have been the same without Hey Jimmy. We have constantly been getting asked "What was the name of the band" and hearing how much everyone loved them!

Highly recommend them with the Gold/Brass option (even came through the dinner service and played!)

We are so happy we hired Hey Jimmy for our wedding at Bridgeport Art Center! Jimmy and his team got everyone out on the dance floor the entire night! They are so talented and can play such a great variety of music from oldies to today's hits. Hey Jimmy was awesome for our wedding at the Newberry Library in November 2016. They played the songs we prioritized, they engaged with the dance floor, and they generally made our wedding a fantastic party. Jimmy was easy to work with leading up to our wedding, and everything was seamless that day. We received multiple compliments and several people asked how we found Hey Jimmy – we continue to receive compliments months later! And, the price is far more reasonable than the bigger companies out there enabling us to go with a live band rather than a DJ. In short, don’t hesitate to book Hey Jimmy!

Hey Jimmy was the perfect choice for our wedding band! They had spot-on song selection for our crowd, with exceptional sound quality and vocal talent. The female vocalist killed it with every song!! They were able to keep the dance floor packed all night, playing one incredible song after another - no gimmicks needed! We had family and friends visiting from across the country, and all of our guests couldn't stop talking about what a amazing band we had! We would easily choose Hey Jimmy if we had to do it all over again. Thanks for making our wedding a true celebration!

We were fortunate to attend another wedding where Hello Nuvo was playing.... hands down they were the best wedding band we had ever heard. When my husband proposed, the decision on our reception band was an easy one. Hello Nuvo can play absolutely anything and cater to both young and old audiences. Their energy and showmanship really engage the crowd to make for a fantastic evening. I would HIGHLY recommend this band for a wedding or any event that you want your guests to have a blast. In addition to being a great band, Jimmy was very easy to work with and was super flexible with our requests. Lastly, we got married in Detroit and were worried about the cost of bringing in a band from Chicago, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were quoted for the bands travel. This band is top notch and a great value. I cannot say enough good things about them and you are missing out if you do not check them out.

Hey Jimmy! was excellent at our wedding! They were able to meet all our of needs from a 2-part father daughter dance to any and all requests. I've had multiple guests ask the name of the band cause it was the best they have heard at a wedding! Would highly recommend Hey Jimmy to everyone!
Only thing that was difficult was communication beforehand, I assume becasue they are highly booked, sometimes communication was spotty. But all came together for the big day!

Booking Hey Jimmy was hands-down the BEST decision we made when hiring a band to play at our wedding reception. Our guests continue to rave about how amazing our band was. They had people on their feet immediately following the special dances all the way up to the last song. In fact, one guest stepped on glass midway through the evening and refused to go to the hospital because she was having too much fun dancing.

If you are thinking about booking a band for an event, Hey Jimmy is your band. Jimmy, the manager, is very easy to work with and does everything he can to plan an evening that best meets the personality of your crowd. They are always learning the newest, most popular songs, but still play the oldies everyone loves. The atmosphere they create is truly incredible. We only wish we had another big event to plan so we could hire Hey Jimmy again.

To our wonderful band-THANK YOU for helping us to create an unforgettable night. We hope to see you play again someday.

Honestly could not have asked for a better performance. These guys brought energy, variety, and talent to the table. Dozens of people have told us how amazed they were by the packed dance floor driven by Hey Jimmy. Price was also great and they delivered all we could have asked for. If you are looking for a great time, energy, and fun, these guys are it. If you don't want these things, you have separate issues.

I'm a little biased because I've used Hey Jimmy for several of the events I've planned... but that's because they're AWESOME. So I knew I had to hire them for my wedding! Jimmy was so patient during the planning process when we constantly changed our minds about what elements of the band we wanted - we ended up adding on a horn section and two additional female singers - SO worth the money! We also had a lot of requests - do not play songs, must play songs, intro songs, announcements, etc. It was a lot of detail and HJ didn't miss a beat! (Pun intended!) They even let my brother play drums for a song that was meaningful to us! Hands down, the thing that everyone was talking about after the wedding (and is still talking about!) was our band - the dance floor was never empty, and our guests didn't want the night to end! Thanks, HJ for making our wedding so much fun!

Hey Jimmy did an outstanding job performing at our wedding. We had first experienced them at two of our friend's weddings and were so impressed. We are still ,after 4months, receiving compliments from our guests. They have told us how much fun they had at our wedding because the band was so good, the dance floor was packed until the very end. The one thing we both wanted was everyone to say how much fun the reception was, and that was accomplished because of Hey Jimmy. They perform all the perfect songs and are able to get everyone out on the dance floor. Every expectation we had was exceeded, made for a perfect evening! I highly recommend hiring Hey Jimmy for your wedding, they are well worth it!

Hey Jimmy was everything we wanted and more! They literally made our wedding day the most amazing dance party ever. They played all of our special requests and even learned a song on the spot that one of our wedding guests requested. It was such a blast! All bias aside, we had one of the most fun weddings we had ever been to thanks to Hey Jimmy! We had so many complements on the band and they sounded amazing! I was a little concerned before booking because I warned by the venue (Pazzo’s at 311 – which we also highly recommend) that sound (echo) may be a concern if we have a band or dj play in the atrium area due to the marble and high ceilings. The venue usually recommends having the band/dj in the restaurant area for better sound. I really wanted to have dancing in the atrium area. I expressed my concerns to Jimmy from Hey Jimmy even before formally booking and Jimmy visited the venue. Jimmy discussed where the sound system and speakers would be set up and confirmed there would be no sound issues since they have played in much larger venues like the United Center. I felt at ease after meeting w/Jimmy and we ended up booking them and had them play in the atrium area. They sounded awesome! The talent, song selections and sound quality were great and literally everyone (from my ten-year old niece to my 70 year old aunt) was dancing! Jimmy was so nice and accommodating. He even played special request songs not on their song list for the special dances (mother-son, etc.). We couldn't have been happier with Hey Jimmy! We highly recommend! Book now!

To every bride and groom out there--stop searching for a wedding band and book Hey Jimmy NOW! I can't give them enough 5 stars!! Thank you thank you thank you for literally been the best band ever!!!! My new husband and have been getting nonstop messages, calls, and emails from friends and family saying how you are literally the best band they've ever heard at a wedding or an event and we couldn't agree more! Hey Jimmy exceeded all of our expectations (which were very high!) and made our night so special, memorable and fun! I honestly have never heard a band this great in my life and I listen to a lot of live music. The dance floor was PACKED and people were having the best time from start to finish! They are professional, prompt, nice, fun, cool, hip uber-talented and not cheesy! They played every song we asked for and even learned some new ones just for us! They are seriously THAT good! A band at your wedding will set the ton for the whole evening. My husband and I were very particular about the band we wanted for our wedding. The band needed to a Pop/country/rap/ party band that was not just another boring wedding band. We were suggested to go see Hey Jimmy live and we knew they were the band for us! Not only did we get Hey Jimmy but we also got Hey Cowboy at the same time for our wedding! They did an amazing job playing current Pop/ COUNTRY / and the wedding favorites. We are huge country fans so we were so excited they could mix in all the pop country songs we wanted and our guests were too. Everyone was on the dance floor the WHOLE night!!!! including my husband and I. They were exactly what we wanted and easy to work with. Everyone said how amazing the band was. One person even told me that they thought the exact song was playing from a DJ but it was the band because they sounded exactly like them! Another person told me they couldn't wait for the short break of the DJ songs to get over because the band was THAT GOOD! Thank you Hey Jimmy/Hey Cowboy for making our wedding the best nights of our lives and the best wedding ever!

One word...AMAZING!! People may say that they are the best wedding band but Hey Jimmy is actually the best wedding band! Jimmy is just wonderful, so flexible and accommodating! The lead singers, Laura and Matt are an amazing combo (there was even some Iggy rapping going on). The drummer selected from our song list and kept the dance floor packed all night! The horns and lead/bass guitars were awesome too. Just wow, thank you!

Hey Jimmy? They were AMAZING...and were troopers when the bride/groom paid for that extra hour (they went with the flow)...it was great! The MC was super fun, the tech was so helpful, the speaker for the ceremony/mic was perfect...and the raw talent they had was amazing!

Everyone was blown away...just please let everyone in that band know that they made the night and I am recommending you to any future brides to be that I book.

We had Hey Jimmy for our anniversary party and they were awesome! The crowd loved them. Everyone was on the dance floor all night. Contacting them and arranging them was super easy. This band is made up of extremely nice, polite, fun people and they really know how to keep a party going. Can't say enough good things about them!

This class act filled the dance floor with foot moving tunes that all generations were able to enjoy. From the solo guitarist at our ceremony and trio guitarists during cocktail hour to the full bands outstanding performance that lasted all night, Hey Jimmy kept the energy high and our guest entertained. They truly were your “iPod come to life” kind of band that was a pleasure to work with.

Can't rave enough about Hey Jimmy. I went with them because they were SO low maintenance and flexible (especially when compared with other wedding band options)... but they blew everyone away with how great they were. Also, I had a last minute request for a song, and even though they said they were done with their show, they played that song (unprepared) and it meant so much to me and my family for personal reasons. ..."Oh my goodness, I don't know where to begin! 'Hey Jimmy' exceeded all of our expectations!! Surely you could tell how much our group LOVED LOVED LOVED you guys!! We heard sooo many great comments from our guests about 'our band'. Expect many referrals. There were friends of mine there whose husbands NEVER dance. They did Friday night. Another, who has an extremely shy 11 yr old son, watched her son cut loose on the dance floor. Lots & lots of happy people leaving town that night. We can not wait to dance with you all again! We were laughing last night about when our daughters get married, the wedding date will not be chosen by when the church or the reception hall is available. Hey Jimmy was amazing!!! When we had a question leading up to our wedding night Jimmy and Glenn were always available for us. They made us feel so calm and confident. Hey Jimmy played our first dance song live and it was amazing. I cried. The first note the dance floor was full all night long. The variety they played was amazing. So many people coming back in to the wedding hall thought an Ipod was playing. Hey Jimmy literally sounded like the original artist'. Adam is awesome, Jimmy is a such kind soul and the band is SO entertaining. Hey Jimmy was the smartest decision we made for our wedding night. We would reccomend to anyone to hire Hey Jimmy. They are affordable and were there for us every step of the way.

We want to thank you for making the evening so INCREDIBLE! Our guests have not stopped raving about Hey Jimmy since the party started! Tim and I knew that our friends and family came to have a great time and dance the night away but you guys brought so much energy even those we figured would sit most of the evening out didn't leave the dance floor! We've had several people ask about you guys for upcoming events (even some who inquired how far you'd be willing to travel). Many people had to remind themselves throughout the evening that you were a live band and NOT a DJ as you guys were so spot on, the music almost sounded like a recording of the originals!

AMAZING! I cannot say enough about how great this band was for our wedding- September 28th. They were absolutely worth every penny. They are great musicians who can play all different genres of music and had the dance floor packed the entire night. We paid extra to extend our reception at our venue in order to have the band play longer. Don't upgrade the food or the linens, don't emboss your invitations... book the band.

My wife and I saw Hey Jimmy at a friends wedding and knew that we had to have them at our own reception. Glenn was easy to work with via email and was quick to answer any questions. He also worked closely with our wedding venue to make sure the day went off without a hitch. He sent us an extensive song list, which made it easy to choose which songs we wanted to be played at the wedding. They took care of the introductions for the wedding party as well as handling the job of emcee for the night. The band kept the dance floor packed from the moment they started playing. Hey Jimmy can seamlessly go from a classic Motown hit to the newest pop song on the radio. Our guests continue to rave about how much they enjoyed Hey Jimmy at our wedding. I would highly recommend them for an unforgettable night.

I had never been to a wedding with a live band until I had the chance to see Hey Jimmy perform at a reception this past summer. They were fantastic! My fiancé and I had to be up at 4am the next morning in order to catch an early flight, and we had originally planned to leave the wedding after a dance or two. We ended up staying much later than we had expected because we didn’t want to stop dancing! Hey Jimmy was high energy and really got the crowd going – the dance floor was packed the entire time! I was so impressed by their stage presence and ability to crank out one hit after another, spanning decades of music. I would love the opportunity to see them play live again!

We hired Hey Jimmy to play at our wedding and they were FABULOUS!!!!!! Jimmy also played acoustic guitar for our ceremony and played music we had picked on an ipod for our cocktail hour and during the reception dinner. They are an amazing band and everyone had a blast at our wedding, stayed until the end and danced all night long. The dance floor was packed and you could tell everyone was really enjoying themselves. I hate when I go to weddings and nobody is dancing and everyone leaves early. Hey Jimmy made our wedding the best wedding ever!! We would recommend them to anyone. If you want a great band for your wedding, definitely hire Hey Jimmy. They play all over the chicagoland area at different bars and events so you can check them out before you hire them. Trust me, they are the best!!!

We used Hey Jimmy for the band at our wedding in July 2011. They were awesome and kept our guests dancing all night long. We had many comments about what a great band they were and how much fun the wedding was, we even had guests that didn't want to leave! We paid extra to have an additional female vocalist with the band, and it was worth every penny. Lauren was an awesome addition to the band and did a stellar job. Hey Jimmy was very easy to work with. Since we were planning from out of town, we corresponded mostly by email. The band always replied quickly and we did not have any issues. They learned our first dance song - Breathless by Better than Ezra (they did mess up a few of the words, but I don't think anyone but us noticed). They also played a few of our requests even though they don't technically take requests. Any song not on their playlist they loaded onto their iPod and played during their break. All in all Hey Jimmy made our wedding reception extremely memorable and the huge party that we wanted.

Live music was the splurge my fiance and I agreed on - and Hey Jimmy was worth every extra penny! I wanted to have an any-thing-but-typical wedding, and they delivered. We checked them out by crashing another wedding they were doing nearby (FABULOUS!!) and hitting a show at a local bar. The dance floor was packed, and they covered great music over a 40 year time span. They spend a lot of time with me making sure they played what we wanted and got the feel right. Many guests mentioned how much they enjoyed the party/band, and a few even told me that Jimmy's guitar rendition of "All My Love" as the bridal party walked down the aisle brought them to tears. I honestly felt like I got a steal of a deal with this band-so glad my planner (Simply Perfect by Melissa) helped me find them. Best of all, they play locally so we can go see them again any time. Snatch these guys up while you can!

We knew long before we were engaged that we wanted Hey Jimmy to be our wedding band. They did not disappoint! The dance floor was packed the entire night. We received so many compliments on them and are thrilled knowing everyone had such a great time. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We went with the gold package, which features a horn section. My husband pushed for this and initially I wasn't so sure. Wow, was I wrong! Getting that package was worth every penny. Hey Jimmy played at our wedding last month and was the life of the party! I can honestly say it's the only wedding I've been to where the guests did not stop dancing from the second speech were over until the lights came on. The dance floor was even packed during the bands only break! Most wedding bands take multiple breaks, but Hey Jimmy kept on playing and only took one! We'd recommended these guys to everyone. Also, the lead singer was on the Voice this season!

They also provided an acoustic guitarist for our ceremony, and a jazz trio for cocktail hour. Both of which were equally amazing as the band itself.

My fiancé and I date-nighted to 5 bars before we landed on Hey Jimmy @ Social 25. We were not looking for a pop-ish band filled with Katy Perry, but a band who could hit every decade and do it well. We instantly knew they'd be a great fit.

Hey Jimmy blew it out of the water! They exceeded our expectations. I was warned with our atrium venue sound could be an issue, and they nailed that too. One of my favorite parts of the whole night was watching how happy my now husband was when they played his favorite song by Talking Heads.

I also felt they were a great value. They took care of cocktail hour, brought in a pianist for dinner, and we were able to add a horn section that KILLED IT.

Do Not Hire This Band.

I seriously don’t even know where to begin. We could not have been more disappointed in Hey Jimmy after being SO excited by all their videos and recordings. What they advertised is completely false. Jimmy hired random people to play at our wedding, and it was really NOT a good experience.
Some terrible things include:
- Sound checks were not made which resulted in both the bridesmaids entrance as well as the first speech screeching
- Kirkbrides had to request that the sound be lowered as it was not checked and was so loud. Gordon Green said they have never experienced the sound levels which then distorted everything.
- The songs L+A requested were not played. Example is they wanted Pink Pony to play when bridesmaids came in which they did not. The "must play" list that was sent and was not followed. This was in addition to our phone call with you reviewing the requests. It was as though the playlist wasn’t reviewed or honored.
- My Way and NY NY which played early in the evening and had special meaning were played again at the end of the night. Why play again when so many other songs should have been played? And it took away the special moment when they were first played.
- The male vocalist was off key on a lot of songs. You could not understand him. Some songs were completely off beat and tempo as well.
- The female vocalist was better but not reflective of what was shown on line.
- The horn section SAT the WHOLE time. Horns were added on as we wanted the energy. There was no energy.
- We requested no slow songs but they played anyway.
The DJ did not play the songs we requested- ie: Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, among others.
- The announcements were not made so guests didn’t know about several of the key items we wanted pointed out- ie: Photo Booth, cake, East Coast Truck, McDonalds

Unprofessional and shady

Hey Jimmy Band is super unprofessional. While musically they are great, they are completely shady. We hired Hey Jimmy Band for our wedding and Jimmy was so unresponsive we weren't even sure we had a band a few weeks out from our wedding. When he finally started responding he looped in another woman who we hadn't seen in any videos and made it seem like she'd be the lead singer but the rest of the band would be the same, including Jimmy himself on bass. Low and behold the night of our wedding we had an entirely different band, Jimmy was nowhere to be seen. Turns out Jimmy and the actual Hey Jimmy Band were playing a different wedding that night. So unprofessional, so deceptive. No bride wants surprises that big on the night of her wedding. Go with any of the other professional band organizations in Chicago, do not waste your time on heartburn with Hey Jimmy.
