  Best band for our wedding or your private event

  Hella Fitzgerald is simply the best. They've got that old school cool, sexy sax, amazing lead singer vibe. I used them for years for private parties and corporate events.. and just hired them for my wedding in October. Easy to work with, great communication, on-time, and most importantly.... FUN. Our guests are still talking about the band 2 months later.

  This band is amazing!!

  This band is so killer! They played super fun dance music that was a great variety to get lots of different folks out on the floor. I am a local musician so I have known Lilan and the band through the music scene for years and I expected them to be amazing and they actually managed to be even better than my, already very high, expectations!

  Fantastic!

  We hired Hella Fitzgerald for our wedding reception and were so glad that we did. They were fantastic! Professional, energetic and brought all of the vibes! The band is really good and the lead singer has such a smooth, lovely voice. Perfect match for our vineyard mountaintop wedding!

  If you can book this band for your wedding then you’re hella lucky. Some of our guests are professional musicians (one is a professor and couple were orchestra members) and they themselves told us they were the best wedding band. The MCing, professionalism, quality of music and vibes are all perfect. In fact my biggest regret is taking too many golden hour photos and thus cutting into our band time. It was THAT good

  Highly Recommended!

  Hella Fitzgerald provided the music for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. In one word: Fantastic! All of the band members are very talented musicians, and band leader, Lilan, is on top of everything, a great communicator. and excellent MC! The band learned/performed several songs for our special dances (father-daughter, mother-son, and first dance), and even personalized them as we requested. Their music got all our guests up and out of their seats dancing, and kept the energy up the entire night!

  Music brought magic to our morning wedding!

  My fiancé and I wanted a simple wedding but with great food and music. Hella Fitzgerald made our wedding really fun for all our guests! They were extremely professional from start to finish of the event, assisting our family member officiant with all the audio and music for the ceremony. Our morning wedding was so special and unique with their creative sound-- and our families tore up the dance floor! They were very open to being flexible with our event and were an extremely worthy addition to our budget. Cannot recommend enough!

  incredible wedding band

  I am so glad that we booked Hella Fitzgerald for our wedding! We had a very diverse crowd at our wedding, and I was worried that it would be hard to find a band that would appeal to everyone and get people dancing, but Hella exceeded our wildest expectations! Everyone was out on the floor having a great time and people told us over and over again that it was the most fun they've ever had dancing - all thanks to Hella. We're also salsa dancers, and Hella Fitzgerald managed to adapt some of their songs to fit a salsa beat, which was a completely unexpected delight for us. This band sounds as great live as they do on their demos, and they are fun and professional and will make any night a party to remember. Lilan was a pleasure to work with during the planning aspect of things too. Book them!

  The Best Wedding Band in Town

  Hella Fitzgerald is SUCH a fun band to have at your wedding. My husband and I were searching for a band that specialized Jazz, Funk, R&B and other more classic genres of music. They had us on our feet and dancing the night away. We had not one, but two ripped pants on the dance floor that night (including the groom's) which I consider to be a true testament to how talented and entertaining they were. They helped arrange our ceremony music as well (we went with a harpist) and handled all of the sound set up. Lilan was great at MCing the night. Thank you Hella Fitzgerald for making our wedding ROCK and for being so flexible and helpful throughout the uncertainty of planning a wedding during covid. Our guests had a blast and so did we!

  Incredible Entertainment!

  Hella Fitzgerald exceeded my every expectation! Working with this band from start to finish, they are really a class act. I booked them for a high end gig in SF and the guests and clients could not stop talking about how incredible the entertainment was. Lilan and her team were incredible to work with, and their product was incredible. I would recommend them to anyone in a heart beat!

  Lovely band!

They played a terrific mix of genres as well as classic and unique songs at our wedding that got every guest grooving on the dance floor all night. Hiring this band for your wedding or other event is a worthy investment, and guests will fondly remember it long afterwards. Kimiko, the lead singer, also did a flawless job setting up and managing the sound system during the ceremony and reception, too. There were no issues with sound quality during vows, speeches, or dancing which allowed everyone to fully enjoy the moment. Their band manager was responsive, kind, and very professional and provided various options to fit our event needs and budget. We’re grateful to have had the best band at our wedding and highly recommend them!

  Best wedding performers ever!

  We are so happy Hella Fitzgerald was able to be such a big part of our wedding! They really knew how to bring down the house with their powerful sets. I highly recommend them for any party. Lilan was clear and communicative leading up to the big day and the band stayed true to their schedule. A++ performance!

  August Backyard Wedding

They set the perfect vibe for our cocktail hour, performed a brilliant version of a specially requested Chuck Berry classic for our first dance, and played wonderfully throughout the reception, even helping the old folks to get on stage and sing a few of their own songs!
  
  Not to mention that the whole event went off much smoother because they provided wireless lapel and handheld mics for the ceremony and speeches.

  We recently had the pleasure of having Hella Fitzgerald play at our wedding (5.12.18), and we are so incredibly happy that we did. Our band was led by Natalie and Tasche, who were both incredible musicians with loads of energy, enthusiasm, and charisma.
  
  All of our guests RAVED about the band. They definitely set the perfect tone throughout the event: for the ceremony Tasche played lovely and well timed renditions of two classical pieces I requested, the cocktail hour and dinner featured a selection of their jazz, swing and blues cannon, and the reception was brought to life with their incredible soul, funk and contemporary selection. I requested they learn a new song for our first dance, and their rendition was so far and above the source material I had sent them. Both Natalie and Tasche have such beautiful and powerful voices, and with each song I was blown away. Their range was so fluid and impressive!
  
  Lilan, the band leader, was the epitome of class and professionalism in her communications with me, and her correspondence was always prompt. She checked in with me multiple times before the event, and her planning shone through in the effortless flow that characterized the event. I made a few last minute requests for the break music, and she graciously accommodated them.
  
  If you are considering a live band for your event or wedding, do yourself a favor go check them out live at one of their many regular engagements! We were already wedded (haha) to having some live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and their prices were extremely competitive compared to those of a short engagement band and typical DJ. Our reception was made SO SO SO much better with their live music and energy. Any wedding DJ can play the same top 40 hits for your reception, but none can compare to the enthusiasm, musical talent, and pure JOY that you will experience with Hella Fitzgerald at the helm.

  Hella Fitzgerald was the dream band for our dream wedding. Thorough communication, detail oriented, beautiful live sound, an eclectic mix of music from the classics/jazz/R&B/modern and a ton in-between, and some of the sweetest and most kind musicians I've ever met -- the magic they provided for our recent wedding was beyond what we expected even after reading their stellar reviews.
  
  Lilan helped us coordinate and put together the perfect band package for our wedding in the Bay Area. We had some special requests and the band was more than down to help make those a reality. The band provided a special arrangement of music for our ceremony, played during our dinner and then for our reception. Lilan also provided emcee duties for every piece of the reception - from introductions to the money dance, and bumped our party up to the perfect degree.
  
  These musicians aren't just the most professional musicians I've worked with in my entire career, they take their craft to another level, and the magical quality of music they laid down the entire night gained the love and adoration of all our guests.

  Hella Fitzgerald was the dream band for our dream wedding. Thorough communication, detail oriented, beautiful live sound, an eclectic mix of music from the classics/jazz/R&B/modern and a ton in-between, and some of the sweetest and most kind musicians I've ever met -- the magic they provided for our recent wedding was beyond what we expected even after reading their stellar reviews.
  
  Lilan helped us coordinate and put together the perfect band package for our wedding in the Bay Area. We had some special requests and the band was more than down to help make those a reality. The band provided a special arrangement of music for our ceremony, played during our dinner and then for our reception. Lilan also provided emcee duties for every piece of the reception - from introductions to the money dance, and bumped our party up to the perfect degree.
  
  These musicians aren't just the most professional musicians I've worked with in my entire career, they take their craft to another level, and the magical quality of music they laid down the entire night gained the love and adoration of all our guests.

  The fantastic musicians and singers of Hella Fitzgerald were not only the featured stars of our wedding celebration that we were super excited to just listen to and appreciate with our closest family and friends, they played beautiful music throughout the event, from great piano solos of our chosen processional and recessional songs during the ceremony, to fabulous instrumental music to really set the scene and tone during the cocktail hour, to the highlight of the night: the dancing and celebrating with the full band rocking the house. Lilan, the band leader, was also our emcee for the night, and she did a perfect job keeping the energy up and positive and keeping things moving. Truly inspired live music is such a privilege to enjoy, and we felt so lucky to enjoy it with our loved ones in a celebration that will always be so dear to our hearts. Thank you, Hella Fitzgerald! We can't recommend you more highly!!

  A musician's dream

  Per the recommendation of our wedding planner, we worked with Hella Fitzgerald for our wedding in Big Sur, CA in August 2023. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
  
  I am a musician myself and had a lot of specifications for what I wanted throughout our ceremony, first dance, and dancing portions of the evening. And I mean a LOT of specifications! Music is something I am very particular about.
  
  Lilan worked closely with me on everything from which 2nd singer to hire to match the feel we wanted (the band works with various singers) to learning new songs that we had requested to adjusting songs to specific BPMs!!! She never seemed to lose her patience with me and would text me randomly with ideas or singer leads. One time she even texted me a couple vocal riffs she sang into her phone to see what I would prefer.
  
  We wanted a fun, sexy, big band feel and a talented group of musicians who could perform soul, Latin, swing, R&B, and everything in between. That is exactly what we got.
