Amazing experience

A Pleasure to Work With
My wedding is nearly a year away, and Helen has already proven herself to be fully capably of handling anything that I may throw her way. She has been extremely patient and professional throughout this entire process. Most notably, it took maybe two weeks (or more) before my fiancee and I decided to hire her, but she never got frustrated or annoyed with my many questions. -

Helen G Events did the décor for our wedding in Montego Bay. We were so happy with how everything came together. We spoke with Helen by phone and by email and we are happy to see that everything we wanted was delivered and arranged perfectly to our satisfaction. Helen was very responsive to our inquiries and requests, and worked very hard to meet our expectations. Helen allowed us to customize our vision for the wedding décor, and used her expert knowledge and experience to ensure to steer us when we were uncertain. We highly recommend working with Helen to design and arrange your events. -

I just wanted to find some small bottles of Jamaican rum to give to my wedding guests. I looked in the right place! These were delivered right to our resort (waiting in our room when we arrived), were carefully packaged, and were a great size to give as gifts. Our friends and family were delighted! We made sure to keep some for ourselves, too ;-) Helen was very responsive to my email inquiries. -

Helen G Events made our dream wedding a reality ! With her impeccable attention to detail our decor far surpassed expectations ! Planning a wedding from the US via emails isn't an easy task but Helen was patient , flexible and her responsiveness was outstanding ! We are very pleased with her work and it was such a great pleasure working with her . We would highly recommend her instead of Tai Flora in Jamaica . We originally were going to use Tai Flora for our decor but their slow responsiveness and unwillingness to work within our budget made us look elsewhere and we are so happy we found Helen G Events . If your getting married in Jamaica, choose Helen and her team for the wedding of your dreams! It was hard and stressful planning a wedding from another country, especially since your not there in person planning and seeing everything come to life but when I arrived at my venue (Bellefield Great House), it was absolutely breathtaking! Helen and her team went above and beyond and gave me the wedding of my dreams! Everything was perfect! I can not say this enough but Helen, thank you for everything that you have done especially your team. Everyone had a blast and I still get compliments to date. Helen G Events was more than my wedding planner. Helen was there for me every step of the way. She would give me suggestions, advice, what other people did at their wedding and comforted me when I was starting to freak out. My wedding was perfect and everything was taken care of by Helen and her team from planning to execution. I usually find faults with a lot of service oriented professionals, but Helen G made my wedding exceptional. I would recommend her to any couple and would use her services again for future major events. -

Helen was very professional, and timely when responding to emails. After an initial discussion describing what I wanted for the event decor, she was able to provide this without a hitch or any deviation from what I envisioned. Everyone was happy and someone at the party was so impressed with the decor and that they asked for her information. Hello everyone!! This small figured woman called Helen Graham and her team are the best in the world. You will never loose from hiring this company. Everyone on the team is professional and they don't waste time. They will make you and your family and friends extraordinarily happy. My husband was worried before our wedding but when he realizes how early Helen and her team started working he was the happiest man alive. Not to mention when they were finish.

My husband and I would sincerely like to thank the @helengevents team, our only job was to show up and look pretty... I was the type of bride to be who was more excited about the marriage than the wedding, leave it up to me i would have eloped. All I said to Helen was, these are the colors, I trust you make it pretty... I was no brideziller, I just wanted to show up... Seeing it all come together brought tears to my eyes, because Helen, you took what I visualized and made it 100 times better. It was a journey and a half, as there were soo many challenges beyond our control along the way but what I appreciated was how at ease you made me, you took on all the stress, had plan A-Z, and you made me glad the day I never chose to elope in the end. It wasn't easy, but you made it all worth it. Moreover most planners work alone or have one assistant, but you have an extraordinary team working with you, namely Paul and Arlene who's warm and sincere nature made what should have been the most stressful moments in my life, one of ease and relaxation making me focus on every precious moment. The one picture I regret not being able to capture, was one with not only the most organized, patient and creative planner/florist/decorator - basically one stop shop - but that of a great mother, friend and kind individual who I will remember and cherish forever. Helen, Thank you! Without you and the rest of the team, there would have been no wedding I would have eloped and my children would not have seen pure bliss captured in our greatest moment of happiness... Please know that, you kept me strong. -

I must commend Helen G Events for the wonderful professional job she did on my wedding favors. Living in the United States I knew that I couldn't travel to Jamaica with favors. I was online looking up wedding favors and saw a personalized rum bottle. I contacted Helen via email and she stated she was able to take care of everything for me. I also wanted straw fans made since my wedding was on the beach and it would be hot. She had samples of both made for my approval and they were beautiful. Every interaction was done through email I never spoke to her directly but everything turned out wonderful.
The favors were delivered to our resort the day before our wedding just as Helen had promised. I would recommend Helen G Events to any bride planning a destination wedding in Jamaica.

As I was marrying a man with the last name "Sangster", we thought having bottles of Sangster's run cream would be. Great favour to hand out. Unfortunately the liquor stores in our home province stopped carrying the brand, so I turned to Helen. She was very helpful, quick to respond, and had the bottles delivered to the hotel as promised. Our guests loved them, and a few of them picked up some extra bottles to bring home to Canada with them. Thanks so much for the help!

I chose Helen G based on reviews from this site. I must say, her services are certifiably accurate. I sought for the best, and that’s exactly what I got. She helped us find our florist, DJ, videographer, photographer, transportation, last minute changes, and personal requests. She also coordinated all of our other vendors such as the photo booth, make-up artists, venue, and officiant. Did I forget to mention she was also the decorator???? It was a pleasure to work with Helen and her team.
1. Her professional demeanor is impeccable.
2. I received better deals on a few vendors through her, than trying on my own.
3. Very communicative. This was a key factor as I live in the states and our wedding was in Jamaica. She answered any questions I had in detail promptly.
4. Supportive and suggestive. I do not have an artistic mind and didn’t have an idea of a concept for décor. Her creativity and design skills are magical.
To me, the planning process and especially on the wedding day, I wasn’t stressed. I was able to enjoy the greatest, most beautiful, fun, and definitely unforgettable day ever without any worries. It was nearly seamless. Our expectations were certainly exceeded.

I just got married at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Juy 11th, 2014 and everything was wonderful. It was a perfect fairytale wedding like something out of a dream! I really wanted the guests to receive a welcome gift from us upon arrival, as people were arriving different days and spread across 3 resorts on the complex. Also, I wanted them to receive an itinerary and welcome letter from us. Helen took care of it all. I just organized it through a few emails and paid via paypal from Kentucky. I didn't want to have to bring everything on the plane and also I'm not very crafty anyway:) everything was hands off this way and it was just taken care of. Our guests talked the entire weekend about our welcome baskets and itinerary. They felt very special receiving them! I would highly recommend Helen for anything you need for a destination wedding!!! -

My husband, Brian and I cannot say enough about Helen G Events!! To sum up our experience with our destination wedding, I have to honestly say our special day was absolutely everything we wanted, all thanks to Helen G Events and her amazing staff. We came across Helen's information on Wedding Wire and from the moment we contacted her, she proved to be knowledgeable, creative and really interested in making our day unforgettable. Most of our communication was done via email, which may make some brides uneasy, as I was initially. Helen's confidence in her abilities immediately put our minds at ease. Every detail we wanted was executed perfectly. I still have trouble believing my wedding was as beautiful and breathtaking as it was. Our family who travelled with us described our wedding day as a fairy tale. Helen's off-resort beach location, ceremony area, cocktail lounge and beautiful reception were more than my husband and I could have ever dreamed of. Everyone we encountered on our trip was fantastic, but Helen G Events' staff and of course Helen went above and beyond for us. Helen set up our stay at Iberostar resorts, got our flowers & centerpieces, put together welcome baskets for our guests, put together a kids basket for our son, surprised Brian and I with our own welcome basket, collected all of the documents needed for the wedding to get our marriage certificate ready, obtained a wonderful officiant for the ceremony, booked all vendors and handled all contracts- she did everything!! She even contacted us to make sure our family got home safe after they left.
My husband had to put on his tux, me my dress, we had to show up and have a good time- Helen literally did the rest!
If you are thinking of having a destination wedding- Go to Jamaica and work with Helen G Events!!! A million thanks to you Helen, we are truly grateful for everything you did!! -

I had originally planned our wedding to be in Grand Turk. We were taking a cruise that stopped at that port, but unfortunately the cruise line changed the itinerary halfway through our time frame. We changed our wedding location to the first port on our itinerary which was Jamaica. Our travel agent through destinationweddings.com referred us to several coordinators. After reviewing the options, we decided to book with Helen G Events. Her portfolio compared to others was creative, modern, robust, and impressive. There were many pictures of other weddings to review and we also checked out her blog, Facebook, and Pinterest before we made our decision. Helen G Events is passionate about what they do and had plenty of options. Helen G Event's prices were higher than the competitors, but we definitely got our money's worth plus more. Our wedding was fabulous and more than we expected.
We communicated solely through email. Since we couldn't do a site inspection, she was more than willing to answer every question/concern I had and she also provided many pictures and examples. For the brides that do not have the opportunity to do a site inspection, I recommend Helen G Events. It may be scary at first not to know, but I believe you will be pleasantly surprised with the results as long as you are clear with your requests. There wasn't a thing that went wrong that we noticed and her team plus the other vendors worked seamlessly and efficiently to make sure that everything went smooth and to perfection. Considering we didn't spend any time on the island prior to arriving so that we can check out the venue/caterer/baker to make sure everything was okay, their work was flawless. Every imaginable detail that I requested was brought to life plus a few additional that I wasn't expecting. All of the vendors that were provided (steel band, DJ, caterer, bar staff, drivers, and officiants) were very professional, hospitable, and entertaining. We highly recommend Helen G Events. -

My wife wanted to do the wedding by herself and was getting stressed out with the planning.
A friend recomended Helen G Events and we decided to hire them.
The service from Helen G Events was fantastic. It was like pressing the easy button.
Helen was very attentive to our needs and kept in constant contact with us which put my wife at ease. She provided excellent advice in choosing caterers and other supliers that were needed for the wedding.

If anyone is planning on doing a destination wedding in Jamaica, I have one very simple piece of advice for you. CALL HELEN G EVENTS. Entrusting Helen Graham with planning our wedding was easily the best decision that my wife and I have ever made. She could not have been more professional and ALWAYS puts her client first. We truly felt that Helen made us her number one priority. Her responsiveness and professionalism were second to none. It was remarkable how she was able to take the vague ideas that my wife had for how she wanted our wedding to look and make them come to life more beautiful and perfect than we could have ever imagined. To put it simply, she just gets it. Helen literally removed all of the stresses from planning for the wedding. She makes her client feel totally at ease and she handles her business. We heard afterward through another source of several things behind then scenes that could have been potential problems that Helen totally jumped out in front of and fixed. She never even allowed us to have a worry in the world, and just allowed us to focus on enjoying and remembering our special day. I cannot say enough good things about Helen Graham. It was an honor and a privilege to work with her and I hope that anyone planning on a destination wedding in Jamaica will read this and have the pleasure of doing the same! -

I don't even know where to begin... Helen & Paul of Helen G Events made our wedding into
something that was beyond our dreams. My husband and I are wedding photographers in jamaica

Helen Graham is simply amazing. Planning my wedding while I was oversees wasn't easy but then
I got in touch with Helengevents and everything just fell into place. Our wedding took place on the beach in Ochos Rios 3 days ago and was fabulous.
Helen was in touch with me constantly and her customer service was always on point.
She was always on hand to make suggestions for any alternatives where necessary.
On the day of my wedding it rained real bad but Helen reassured me, it would eventually stop and everything would just be so perfect. She was absolutely right the rain stopped and we had such a wonderful wedding.
Helen and her team went above and beyond what was expected and I am most grateful more than words can express. Everybody loved the wedding set up, had a few tears too. Helen on behalf of Kevin and myself we would like to thank you for a magical and truly awesome wedding day.

Helen was great!! I regret NOT using her for my entire wedding! We got married in Ocho Rios & used her services for the flowers. Flowers were beautiful! Wonderfully wrapped as I requested, full and just lovely. They were delivered hours before the wedding and didn't change colors or anything to my surprise as she ensured me!
Helen was always reachable via email and phone. She arrived on time, although our meet was quick due to the stress and busy-ness of the day...she was great and even gave me a complimentary toss bouquet due to the circumstances! I plan on using Helen again if ever needed when I'm in Jamaica, and certainly would refer her to anyone! (Don't be deceived by some images online- you can ensure whatever photos you send her she can deliver!!!)

Helen has been extremely helpful thus far in my wedding planning. I am a control freak and she has made me feel comfortable in letting go and relaxing a little bit. I found the hotel in particular difficult to coordinate with for the destination wedding and Helen handled all vendor coordination with them while continuously keeping me abreast of all discussions. She has also recommended other vendors to me that she has worked with before - having Helen as a resource has been abundantly satisfying. I can not say enough about Helen G. Events. My wedding was absolutely fabulous and I'm so grateful I chose to work with Helen. My wedding was planned in a little over 6 months and everything fell in to place beautifully. Because I was having such a large wedding coming from the US to Jamaica, I needed to make sure I worked with someone experienced and thorough. I wasn't able to come to Jamaica prior to my wedding to interview vendors and make selections on my own. Helen was Angel! All of her recommendations were perfect! She was extremely organized, and efficient. Whenever I had a question she was always available and quick to respond. We loved our decor, the flowers and the set-up. All of our guests and family were so pleased. All night everyone kept saying "WOW" Since we've been back we've received calls from so many people praising our wedding and telling us how beautiful everything was. Helen was amazing and everything truly exceeded our expectations! -

Helen is a dream. She was right on point with everything I needed to make my day the best ever. She had awesome, unique ideas that I saw nowhere else. She patiently worked with me and tweaked the designs until what I wanted matched my budget. My guests were in awe because of the great job she did. Brandon and I got married in Jamaica at the end of January in the backyard of a Villa rental. We were recommended Helen by our Rental Company and I am very happy that we chose to work with her. I was not totally sure what to expect given that I had never coordinated a destination wedding, but the end result that Helen oversaw went beyond my expectations. Brandon and I, as well as all of our guests, had a great time and thought it was all well done and well coordinated. There even was rain right after our ceremony but we were able to adjust the furniture for the cocktail hour and luckily had a tent so people could still enjoy cocktails. The only slight snafu came from our photographer who was late in providing our photos due to technical software issues he had encountered, but he was apologetic and provided us with a complimentary photobook to compensate us.
In all - I was very happy with how the wedding looked, loved my cake, and had a wonderful time at my wedding. Thank you Helen for helping make our wedding so special! -

Helen was very responsive to our requests. She has several gift packages to choose from if you don't know what you want, but you're able to mix and match as much as you'd like to make it your own. I've been so eager to write this review to give feedback on the experience we had with Helen G Events. Two months before our destination wedding, we were becoming dissatisfied with the options that were being offered from the resort and wanted to go with an off-resort option instead. After reading all the positive reviews and doing my research online, I contacted Helen and we have never looked back! Helen responded to emails rapidly (within minutes to 1 day maximum) and was patient in answering every and any question we had. She helped us to make choices for venues, food, music, etc. with ease and her experience in these areas really shone through. She REALLY listened to us and was able to create an unforgettable wedding experience for us and almost 80 guests... in under a month! The reception and ceremony decor was spectacular, food was delicious Jamaican cuisine, DJ was perfect, steel pan band was amazing, transportation/drivers were professional and very courteous! All the vendors used were of superior quality! Helen and her assistant were on top of everything from A-Z and we weren't even aware of any hiccups along the way - we only heard about them after.. they handled it all so beautifully and professionally. Our guests describe our wedding as "flawless" and "beautiful". They were so impressed that some of them wanted to know if she did work outside of Jamaica! It was really quite spectacular.. we are still on a high from our wedding. If you want personalized service for an outstanding event, you will have no regrets with Helen G Events. Helen provided wonderful services. She responded to all communication within 24 hours, and her communication was clear and to the point. Nothing was misleading, and all questions were answered immediately. The coffee wedding favours were delivered to my resort in Jamaica as promised in a timely manner. She incorporated our wedding monogram onto the logo, as well as a beautiful, scenic image of Jamaica. She provided us with ample time to review the logo prior to printing, although she did such a precise and wonderful job no revisions were required. Everyone loved the favours, and for $6.00USD they were well worth the price and convenience. I highly recommend destination wedding couples do something similar, as bringing favours for 60 guests would have cost much more and taken considerable time to assemble/space to pack. This was a simple, affordable, and appropriate wedding favour which all my guests, ranging in age from 18-82 loved to take home as a souvenir (both of our wedding and of their time in Jamaica). -

Helen took care of everything! We contacted her in a rush (about one week's notice) because we were going to Jamaica for another event and, having just gotten engaged, decided it would be a good time to select a venue. Helen made time in her busy schedule to meet with us, and although she couldn't be there herself, arranged for one of her assistants to show us several venues in Ocho Rios during our visit. With such short notice the service was great! When we got back to the States, she guided us through all the major decisions and gave us a checklist of what needed to be done. One thing I would say is that we had to be self motivated because there are a fair number of things we needed to take care of on our own and she didn't hold our hands and make sure we were handling what needed to be handled. She would check in and make sure these tasks were being handled on schedule.
She's also very busy so it may take a few days to hear back from her at times. While this was frustrating sometimes (mostly because I am a type A personality) in the end everything turned out great! The things we had made decisions on together were exactly as we wanted them and the things we left up to her discretion fell in line perfectly with our vision. This is a woman who knows what she's doing when it comes to wedding planning! It's definitely not cheap but she will give you access to all the best Jamaica has to offer for your wedding and everything will be perfect!

We used Helen and her team for floral, decor and lighting for our wedding ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner at Roundhill Resort and Villas.
We had a vague idea of what we liked from looking on Pinterest etc but the final layout of the space and the number of guests was in flux for a long time but Helen was very flexible. But most importantly she was able to interpret what we had tried to describe into a beautiful pulled together look across the two days. The floral arrangements were gorgeous but it was the lighting and accessories that really impressive - both events were at dusk and the lighting really highlighted the decor. Helen was very responsive by email which was important because we were organising from Europe. She was also able to work independently with the wedding coordinator from the hotel.
All in all we were really happy with the process and final product. It was exactly what we wanted and very pain free and excellent value for money. -

We used Helen G for wedding favours for our destination wedding, she always replied swiftly and when there was a problem with our design, she designed labels that were better than the originals!! We asked for them to be delivered to our hotel- within 2 hours of checking in there were delivered, well packaged with care. I recently got married at Secrets Wild Orchid and I just knew that I wanted something extra special for my flowers. I contacted Helen and she immediately responded! She has been an absolute dream to work with, letting me know what flowers she could get in and which ones she couldn't. Helen was a huge asset to me in planning my wedding. Originally the hotel I was with was a little bit slow in responses and I was getting incredibly frustrated. Helen was able to mediate the relationship between and provided so much assistance in terms of timing on the day of, decorations and keeping everyone organized. She managed all vendors for me which was so useful as I never had to be there to greet anyone at reception, tell them where they needed to go next, all I had to think about was getting a beer and corralling family for photos. She was so friendly and warm, incredibly quick to respond and I would recommend her to anyone interested in a destination wedding. Having a dedicated planner will greatly ease your minds if you are a controlling bride, or will take care of everything if you are a bride that doesn't care about much else except marrying the man of your dreams.

We were so pleased with Helen and her team! Steve and I were married on Dec 3rd, for what turned out to be a sunset ceremony on the beach. There was some concern about the weather that day, as it was drizzling that morning. Helen was already prepared with an alternate location when I called her regarding my concern! She absolutely transformed the rooftop terrace where the reception was held, too! The villa was almost unrecognizable!! We recently got married at Firefly Oracabessa. We used Helen G Events as our wedding organiser she was absolutely fabulous everything was just as I wanted we loved it. We were running about 1 hour late but nothing was a problem and all went according to plan. I would recommend for the support, professionalism and the excellent communication.

Helen and her staff did an awesome job pulling everything together on the wedding day. The ceremony space and reception area were absolutely beautiful. It was not easy planning a wedding from a long distance but Helen captured everything I told her I had envisioned for the day. She was able to deal with last minute issues that arose at the resort. I could not have done it without her. -

We would like to thank Helen, so much for the Wedding favors, we received great compliments from our guests. I was extremely pleased with the end product. We were travelling from Canada, and we were hoping to probably pay 50% before and the remainder after delivery, because we were not sure what to expect. But everything turned out great! -

The main service we required from Helen was the day-of coordination, to make sure that everything ran smoothly and on-schedule. She obviously takes her title of Coordinator very seriously, as everything was perfect on the day of our wedding. Although we contracted our own vendors for catering, cake, and photography, she still corresponded with them to make sure we got what we paid for.
She will follow up with her clients when she hasn't heard from them in a while to make sure they are doing okay, and will always make herself available for suggestions or advice.
She provides her clients with documents and forms to fill out so that all details are covered.
Helen and her team are absolutely great! -

I used Helen for my flowers. I had them delivered to my resort. Helen was quick to respond to emails and calls. It's very hard planning a destination wedding so for me I needed someone who was quick to respond back to emails. As for other vendors that I looked at in Jamaica, it was taking 2-3months for some florists just to respond and when they did respond back, the quotes were very pricey. I was quite impressed with the quality of the flowers and they were delivered just as I had sent to her in pictures. -

I have to say that planning a destination wedding can be quite nerve racking and downright frustrating at times, but I'm so glad that I decided to get a little extra help from Helen G Events. I used Helen's services for wedding decor and floral arrangements due to the great reviews on Wedding Wire. I would say that these reviews are accurate and in some ways, my expectations were exceeded! I think that Helen understood my vision and the look that I wanted to achieve, but used her expertise and creativity to add/make enhancements that really helped make my whole wedding ambiance breathtaking! My guests have not stopped raving about how gorgeous everything was. Helen also knows her stuff and was familiar with the resort where I got married (Iberostar Grand), so I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Helen knew exactly what to do and worked seamlessly with the wedding coordinators at the resort to deliver my dream wedding. Helen did seem a little more expensive to me than some of the other vendors that I considered and was an added expense above and beyond what was included in our resort wedding package, but I do think you get what you pay for. It was worth it. -

Helen was the best! My mother, sister and I fell in love with her the Frist time we meet. She was polite, professional and inviting.
My wedding theme was very specific with the help of my Wedding Planner HELEN; I was able to make the wedding of my dreams a reality. My wedding was in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I live in New York so I needed someone of her expertise. Helen took care of most of the work and I was able to be stress free….planning for my wedding…. I would definitely recommend anyone to hire Helen to plan their wedding especial if they plan to have a destination wedding in Jamaica.

I was searching for a wedding planner that was professional, efficient and actually responded to my needs and queries in a timely manner. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Helen who embodied all these characteristics. I contracted Helen's services at the tail end of my planning and required her assistance for tying up the final details, partial decoration and day of event coordination. Suffice it to say, I was blown away when I saw how she transformed the venue and brought my ideas to life. Would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in quality service. -

When having a destination wedding, hiccups are part of the process. Being clear and vocal about what you like and don't like is extremely important due to the fact that communication is limited to mostly emails and occasionally conference calls. Having a wedding planner as good as Helen G and her team, let us focus on other important details while they took care of everything down in Jamaica. I would definitely recommend making a trip down there at least once for a couple days to sit down with Helen G and her business partner. This allows everyone to get acquainted and come to a much clearer understanding of decor, ceremony space, reception space, etc. Doesn't hurt to share a few laughs as well! Also, it helps a great deal to do as much research as possible on your own time to gather as many ideas as possible. All in all, it was an experience of a lifetime. All the stress was worth it. Our wedding day could not have been any more successful and beautiful, thanks to Helen and her team. -

Helen was everything that we could have asked for on the day of the wedding. She was attentive, timely, and professional. In many ways she went above and beyond what I felt her job description was in helping us to plan for our stay in Jamaica and smoothing over difficulties and anxieties when in Jamaica. There is difficulty in planning a wedding from another country, and Helen was able to come through and deliver on what we asked.
I think that Helen could improve on her communication and the timeliness of her responses, as missed deadlines and lags in communication did elevate our stress levels significantly throughout the planning process. In some cases however, these issues in communication came from issues with other vendors. Overall, we were satisfied, and would recommend her. -

We used Helen G Events to help put together our welcome bags for our destination wedding. We found them online and really liked their pictures. Helen was really easy to work with and had our bags delivered to our resort the same day we checked in- they were better than expected! I was very specific on how I wanted the decor for my wedding ceremony and reception, and Helen and her team brought some of my vision to fruition. My husband and I also flew to Jamaica 5 months prior to our wedding to meet with Helen to discuss the logistics and decor for our wedding this past weekend. The decor was decent, but I figured that I would receive the "wow" factor for the price I paid, but the decor was just okay.
1) I requested each chair tie for each chivalry chair in the reception which was missing.
2) none of the floating candles were actually lit
3) I requested votive candles for each table and those were completely missing
I would recommend a couple to hire Helen as their decorator but also meet with her prior to your big day to really finalize how you want your decor. -

Ruined our day
Thankfully we have a strong network of family and friends who got us through the disappointment that was our wedding day due to Helen’s inability to plan, communicate and coordinate with vendors. Several things were not set up properly for the wedding ceremony, some guests were left without seats at the reception because of Helen’s lack of attention to detail, the wedding bouquets did not match (she claims this is bc she makes one bouquet for the MOH but I didn’t have a MOH and I was the one who noticed we were short one bouquet minutes before the ceremony), the dance floor did not match what we ordered just to name a few. Helen was not available during much of the event which made it difficult to adjust as needed. The decor and dj were fine and Helen did stick it out with us when we had to postpone for a year due to postpartum health complications with the birth of our daughter, but everything else left more to be desired. On top of that, her prices kept creeping up as we got closer to the event and she often made mistakes with the billing that we had to catch ourselves. She promised things then didn’t deliver and we consider ourselves very in love and entering our wedding day knowing that not everything would go as planned. However, the amount of things that Helen was responsible for that went wrong and the amount of money we paid her to do a poor job will always be a regret of ours when we look back on the day we professed our commitment to each other in front of our friends and family. I’m writing this hoping that other couples avoid this situation of a tainted wedding day. You deserve better! -

This woman deserves no stars. Unprofessional, unaccountable, irresponsible and lacks integrity. She is the worst of the worst when it comes to event planning. She will book you for a service and not deliver. She was booked for a wedding and on the day of the wedding she made an appearance for five seconds. Not only did she not know what she was doing but her team was also clueless as well. Imagine having a bunch of people in your wedding who don’t know what to do. This is her. Do not book her. If u do decide to book her then you deserve all that’s coming your way because she’s a scamma. -

scam artist
We had a very poor experience with Helen, we hired her to plan our destination wedding, my fiancé and I had an hiccup and temporarily called off the wedding at this point we had already paid Helen 5k. (Things happen) when I asked for my money back she did not respond to my emails (plural). when we obtained her phone number from the website she gave several stories that she was waiting for a refund from vendors. I took it upon myself to call the location to confirm, they denied she ever paid them any of the funds. it took 5 weeks for her to refund 1300$ of the 5000 she was paid. in the contract it states that there is a 1200 cancellation fee, she claimed it also said35% which is b.s she did not do any work on behalf of our wedding as to the fact that she was literally just hired. in order to get the pathetic 1300 back we had to call and text her several times a day. she was very unprofessional. I am actually a little grateful for the hiccup with my fiancé and I because we would've continued giving her money and who knows what would of happened. ( we have worked it out and hired a professional to plan our wedding, Helen is a scam artist) I have reported her and her business to all of the government officials. -

Recently had a wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica where Helen G was our wedding planner. Definitely contemplated writing this review for over a month, but I believe in transparency. If you are vendor, and you blatantly under-perform, I believe others should be made aware, before they make their decision. Getting time with her to discuss our wedding was like pulling teeth. I wondered who was paying who at times. On the day, there were things that were haphazardly organized. On top of it all, I received a complaint from a guest who said our wedding planner "was rude to them," which was the straw that broke the camel's back. When we communicated the issues there was a level of arrogance to suggest that "we didn't have to recommend her if we didn't want to." Also, a piece of property belonging to us has gone missing and there has been a complete lack of urgency and nonchalance to track it down. She also did not work well with our decor provider and overall her services were subpar, at best. -

My husband and I hired Helen to plan our dream wedding in Jamaica. We had it almost paid in full to her when my husband got sick with cancer. We ended up having to cancel the wedding. Helen said she would give us our money back until it came time to actually pay us back. She had every excuse in the book. She was waiting on vendors, then she was sick. She would not return my emails for months. Then when my husband ended up passing away, i tried to contact her again to get the money back to help with funeral expenses and still no refund. This woman has no heart and i would not recommend her to my worst enemy. It has been over a year now and she is still not responding to my emails. Very unprofessional. -

Helen G Event Planning & Design embezzled $34,555 USD from my wedding guests who had sent money to her through Citibank and Paypal for their hotel accommodations. Upon arriving to the hotel none of the 40+ guest rooms were fully paid for even though all the money was collected at least 1 month before arrival. In order for my guests not to be thrown out of the hotel I had to max out 2 of my credit cards to pay for their rooms. Helen G Event Planning & Design claimed that she wired the money a day before we arrived but accidentally put the wrong account # on the wire transaction. NOT TRUE as Citibank confirmed that the wire receipt of $34,555 USD she provided us as proof of payment did not match their bank's records. They confirmed the amount was only $3,500 USD sent to a Money Market Broker account.
Within a week of the so-called "wire mis-hap" and us threatening imprisonment, the owner of Helen G Event Planning & Design hired a lawyer to showcase that she was serious about repaying the money. Four months later I haven't received an explanation for what she did with the $ and I have had to hire a lawyer to get reimbursed for the monies over $30k USD that I had to pay the hotel 2 days before my wedding. I have spent approximately $1K USD in fees due to her indiscretion (lawyer, phone, credit card finance fees). Also she had the AUDACITY to try to collect commission from the hotel despite the fact that she didn't pay for the rooms and her contract clearly states that she isn't supposed to take commission from vendors (she has another company named Holiday Solutions which she tried to use to collect the commission). Don't worry the hotel ended up not paying her the commission and have blocked Helen G Event Planning & Design/Holiday Solutions from doing business with them until further notice as she failed to honor the contract with them.
Also her contract is MISLEADING as she charges a miscellaneous fee to all of her clients—ours was $706 even though we signed a flat fee contract. From my experience, I would NEVER recommend Helen G Event Planning & Design which also has operations called Holiday Solutions and rentjamaica as they were all involved in this fraudulent act. -
