We used Heather for our engagement and bridal photos and could not be happier with our decision! The whole experience was stress free, fun, and easy. From the beginning she helped guide our outfit choices to make sure they worked well with our photo location then made us feel comfortable in front of the camera during our shoot. The photos she took were stunning! I love how dreamy and romantic they were! Heather is so talented and I couldn’t recommend her enough!

We feel so fortunate that we were able to work with Heather for our engagement and wedding day photographs. From our initial correspondence until delivery of our wedding photos Heather was extremely attentive and professional. Our photographs exceeded our expectations and we will treasure them for a lifetime! Heather is a true professional, extremely talented, and kind. Heather was amazing to work with! She really took the time to understand us and our vision of our wedding day. Heather knew our style and delivered a product that far exceeded our expectations.

Heather immediately made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, her warm personality and easy style allowed us to just be ourselves.

Heather truly captured the essence of our wedding and we are forever grateful for the pictures that we will always cherish! We cannot speak more highly of Heather or her work!

I knew photography was going to be extremely important to me so I spent countless hours searching for the right photographer. I found Heather on the Harper's Bazaar "Top Wedding Photographers" list and knew from her description alone that she was exactly who we were looking for. Her aesthetic was described as "timeless, refined, fashionable yet approachable and relaxed" - which is exactly how we pictured our dream wedding! Her work is a blend of beautiful editorial images and documentary-style storytelling. She is a talented professional but above all she is warm, calm and a joy to work with. Heather didn't just show up on the day of the wedding and start shooting, she took care to prepare and plan for the perfect shots. She wanted to understand our style vision and even visited our floral designer the day before to get samples of our flowers for detail photos. Her presence made us feel comfortable and relaxed on the wedding day, and it shows through the emotions she captured. The end product is a collection of unique, stunning images that we will surely cherish for years to come.

Heather photographed our wedding weekend last year and my husband and I could not have been happier with her work. She captured so many timelessly beautiful shots and perfect moments over the weekend. It's hard to figure out what my favorites are because there are so many! She is also amazingly personable and easy to get along with, a quality that I think is vital to getting good photography results. She is extremely professional, truly talented, and has an incredible eye. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Heather is extremely talented and an ABSOLUTE joy to work with! Heather is one of the best photographers in the industry and for good reason - our photos were absolutely stunning. Heather is a true professional and we are so impressed with how detail oriented, organized, etc. she was while also being laid-back, calm, and cool (i can't stress how important it is to like to connect with your photographer since you are with them the whole emotion filled day). She has an eye for beauty and did an incredible job capturing our emotions and telling our story through her photos. We loved working with her and would highly, highly, recommend her.

There are truly no words that can express how happy we were to have Heather as our wedding photographer. The images that she captured left us speechless. From the detail shots to the portraits sessions, and the heartwarming and hilarious candids, Heather told the story of our wedding weekend beautifully and truthfully. Working with her throughout the weekend, Heather and her team made us feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. She is such a sweetheart and sincerely loves what she does, which shows in the eminence of her work. We are so lucky to have these images forever and could not be more grateful to Heather and her amazing talent.

simply the best wedding photographer on the planet. calm, cool and can handle everything the evening throws at her with ease and grace. though she is a lovely person and anyone would obviously want her as a guest, we really didn't even notice her the entire night. and then you get the photos..... 5 star, the most beautiful photographs we have ever had taken, hands down.

I can't rave enough about Heather's professionalism, workmanship and amazing ability to capture all the moments from our wedding weekend. We had 5 events and Heather and her team did an excellent job of covering all the events. She was so easy to work with and has a warm and calm personality. Her turnaround time was incredible and we are so impressed with the quality of her photographs.

Heather is amazing. If I could give 10 stars out of 5, I would. I've started and re-started writing these comments, because I want to make sure I adequately express what a joy she was to work with, and how talented she is as a photographer. I think that Heather's work speaks for itself -- you can tell she has a fine arts background, because her photographs are not only documentary, but beautiful and interesting. Her aesthetic was exactly what we wanted, and she captured the weekend in such a way I didn't think possible. She captured the essence of it, and we have sooo many photos to show for it. She's also willing to listen, truly listen to her clients about what they want, and will work very hard to make you happy. Along with her superior talent, she's also kind, calm, funny, respectful, and smart -- the exact kind of person you want around you when things are going crazy on the big day. I honestly could not recommend Heather more -- YOU are lucky as a client if you're able to work with her!

Heather is a consummate professional. We knew immediately upon meeting her that we wanted her to be our photographer. She's kind, easy to work with and has a great personality which is a bonus on top of her talent as a photographer. She gave a lot of input on the creative process while listening to our wishes, had amazing attention to detail and worked well under the pressure of a very rainy day. Our pictures are beautiful. We could not be happier.

I knew I wanted Heather to photograph my wedding even before I was engaged strictly based on her beautiful photos I'd see on blogs. While I knew she'd be amazing, she still surpassed every expectation and make our wedding look more beautiful than I could have imagined.

What really sets Heather apart is that she goes so above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. We had a low-key City Hall wedding and were completely overwhelmed by even the slightest planning, so Heather looked at pictures of the hotel where we were taking pictures and PICKED OUT FLOWERS AND A CAKE that would complement the setting. She also completely took charge of the order of events and arranged for everything to go smoothly. We felt like we had the world's greatest wedding planner.

She is also the sweetest, most patient and most flexible person. She would respond to even my most insane questions ("What if I have a zit?! Can we photoshop it?!) right away and made us feel completely assured that everything would be perfect... which it was.

I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I wish there were more stars to give Heather because she is hands down the greatest! Everything from a professional level all the way to a personal level. She really went above and beyond for me and my wife on our special day. I don't think it would have turned out the way it did without her. We had a low key City Hall wedding in New York City and she made us feel like we were the stars of a 300 person major celebration.

I feel guilty that it even took me this long to rave about her.
My wedding back in June was truly the best day of my life (as cliche as it sounds) It's true. I really have to give credit to so many people for contributing to that, including this amazing photographer. I have trouble putting into words just how perfect and professional Heather was. She is beyond a master at her craft and has a passion that shines through her pictures. I've been following Heather's work for years. Its started when a friend showed me a collage of photos from a wedding she attended. After completely falling in love with the uniquely captured candid moments I knew that when I got engaged, she would be the first vendor I reached out to. That was certain. She was literally my dream come true photographer, and looking at the photos now allow me to relive that day so clearly. There is no style like hers.
I also have to give it up for Sas!!! who was her partner in crime that night. She killed it with her sharp eye also! Thank you so much for giving me frozen memories of a lifetime...

Hiring Heather was the best decision we made. When my fiancee and I decided to elope, choosing the right photographer became even more important to us. Our family and friends say they feel like they were there with us when looking at Heather's photographs, which is exactly what we'd hoped for. Plus, she made our little intimate ceremony look more grand, even more beautiful and captured all the love and silliness of the day. She delivered exactly what we wanted in pictures: authentic, timeless, simple, beautiful, and fun moments that capture us as we truly are. My husband and I absolutely LOVE our wedding photographs, and we can't thank Heather enough!

When searching for a wedding photographer it's easy to think only of the resulting photos and how we want them to look, and to forget about the emotion of the moments in which those photos will be captured. We could have hired a photographer that cost less money than Heather but we wanted amazing photos taken by a professional who understood the integrity of our relationship and the importance of our wedding. We had Heather for both our rehearsal night and our wedding day, during which she brought a second shooter. Together they not only captured photos that are tremendously beautiful, but they put us and our loved ones at ease, never making us feel uncomfortable or crowded, always capturing the perfect moments. There were so many instances during which I was experiencing a special moment (dancing with my grandpa, clanking glasses with childhood friends) and I would think, "I wish I had a photo of this," then I would spy Heather somewhere out of the way, camera to her eye, capturing the magic. You don't always get what you pay for, but with Heather we got so much more. She is so talented and was a true pleasure to work with.

Our wedding would not have been complete without the photography of Heather and her assistant Ashley. They both were professional and were able to capture the entire wedding experience through memorable photographs. She was prompt on inquiries and the results were exceptional! Not only were they our photographers but they were a great addition to our wedding party! We truly enjoyed them as our guests at Villa di Nozzole, they were and are still considered part of our family. We would highly recommend Heather to anyone who is interested in having their special day captured in photographs.

Heather was absolutely wonderful to work with. We got to know her over a glass of wine before our engagement photo session. Her kindness and interest in getting to know us made us incredibly relaxed. She was exactly the type of person I'd love to have as a friend at my wedding, so felt very comfortable with her being there for all the most personal moments of my wedding day. She went above and beyond during the engagement photos and the wedding day. She made sure to discuss all of our preferences before the wedding to day to make sure she knew what was most important to us to capture. Afterwards, our photographs arrived in incredibly beautiful presentation. And of course, most importantly, the photographs were absolutely gorgeous! Many look like they come out of a magazine - beautiful, artistic shots. I'd absolutely recommend working with Heather.

I can't rave enough about Heather! What can I say, she's a beast behind the lens. We've received tons of compliments on how stunning and unique both our engagement and wedding photos are. In fact, our wedding photos were selected to be featured in New York Magazine's Real Weddings section so her work speaks for itself. She really went above and beyond the call of duty, bringing amazing props for our engagement shoot and even photographing mugshots for our guestbook (we had a speakeasy theme). We not only had a blast shooting with her, but consider her a good friend now. I think whoever works with her is lucky!

Heather is a remarkable wedding photographer! Probably over 30 guests independently commented to us (bride and groom, as well as our parents) how professional and simultaneously unnoticeable she was during our wedding. She knew exactly how and where to position herself so that she did not interrupt any detail throughout the entire wedding day (she even had a camera that makes zero sound while taking photos), and even as she blended into the setting so carefully, she managed to take stupendous shots of every detail. Our wedding was quite complicated, with a single 330-person table winding through the woods for dinner and a spiral-shaped ceremony in a large (and sloped) backyard. Nonetheless, Heather's deep experience enabled her to capture the event perfectly. She was very easy to work with, incredibly enthusiastic, and very attentive to our preferences as bride and groom. Based on our preferences, she incorporated some portrait-style shots with impressive documentary photography that attended to even the smallest details. We wouldn't hesitate at all to strongly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding or another important event!

Heather was amazing from the time we first met her. She was referred to us by Susan Stribling, whose work i deeply admire. Heather's work was just as perfect. Her sweet nature and calm nature allowed us to be very comfortable and at east (and my husband and i are NOT comfortable being the center of attention). We had many questions regarding to do First Look photos or not and she gave very valuable advice/feedback and are really happy with our decision. She listened to what i was looking for in a photographer and the type of memories that i wanted to capture and absolutely delivered on it!

Heather is absolutely wonderful and her photos are ones to cherish for a lifetime!

Heather is both the consummate professional as well as a true artist. Her photos of our wedding captured not only the images but the spirit of the day and we are truly grateful for that. We are so happy to have found Heather for our Grand Central Station wedding. Her style spoke to us and she was so easy to work with. Our photos captured moments we had forgotten about and all the emotions that were going on. Booking her as an out of state couple was as easy as you can get. She responded to emails lightning fast and worked with us on exactly what we wanted and needed for our small event. All of our friends and family loved everything she shot. I cannot say enough good things about Heather Waraksa. From the first day we met, I just had this complete calm and assurance that every emotion of our day, from the tiniest details to the most intimate moments to the moves on the dance floor, would be captured. She just got us, and innately understood the little things, the little moments that we would want captured. When were not able to make one of the shooting locations work on the day of our wedding, Heather graciously offered to meet my husband and I, and our dog Wilbur, for a quick shoot when we were back from our honeymoon. She understood how important that location was to my husband, and to this day those are some of my favorite photos.

Her manner is calming and reassuring - I was never worried that she was missing something, and yet I almost forgot she was there. I don't know how she does it. And she's just so effortlessly cool! My husband and I had lived in Manhattan for 5 years and had a good sense of what we wanted for our day. But we looked to her for advice on many details, and her eye was just so on point. She also recommended our videographer, another great suggestion (Ray Estrada).

Because of the amazing service she provided, and the absolute beauty of our wedding photos, I have referred her time and time again. I regularly have guests from our wedding ask for her info, for themselves or a friend. She might be one of my favorite people in the world - I'm eagerly waiting for the next reason to work with her. Thank you Heather!

I'm not someone that enjoys having their picture taken. I was actually really nervous about this portion of my wedding. Heather makes everything so easy, natural and simply makes you feel like a princess. I wouldn't have anyone else photograph a special life event. She's truly one in a million.

My husband and I were lucky to have Heather as our wedding photographer in October 2013. She was so flexible, kind and helpful throughout all of our plans. We were a very small event (only 30 people) and even further it was a real delight to Heather in our wedding party. She was so much fun and got along so well with all of our family and friends. And she works hard! No one could believe her energy - she was literally running around the entire event non-stop for 12 hours with 3 different cameras! Our Italian family called her 'la topina', or, 'little mouse'. :) Not to mention, of course, that the images are gorgeous!!! We are so pleased with our wedding pictures and can't wait to get our album done. I especially like it that you get your own personalised box with the wedding photo proofs, which makes it more fun and a lot easier to look at all your photos at once. We got exactly what we were hoping for from our photos: elegant and stylish photography that captured all the gorgeous details of the event and the beautiful personal moments too. It was a nice plus to have all of that from someone as sweet and enthusiastic as Heather! :)

I knew from the start of wedding planning that photography was extremely important to me. I interviewed more photographers than I tried on dresses. When my fiance and I met with Heather, I knew I wanted her to photograph our wedding, not just because she takes amazingly beautiful and heartfelt photos, but because she was so cool and sweet. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and I keep trying to figure out an excuse to hire her again (though of course I don't plan on having another wedding!). Though the investment in quality wedding photography is not small, Heather was worth every penny.

What made Heather stand out from the catalogue of photographers I researched was her approachability, creativity, eye for detail and genuine interest in us, the bride and groom. Heather is a softly spoken, lovely lady, who took time to get to know us as much as possible. I suspect this is because she likes her pictures to tell romantic stories. On our wedding day for example she turned up with props that told our story: colourful paper planes (matching the overall colour scheme of our wedding) and world maps (my now husband and I met at an airport).

Heather Waraksa is an exceptionally talented photographer. I am so happy she captured the magical moments of our wedding day for us and cannot recommend her enough.

I cannot say enough about Heather as a person or her work. My wedding just wouldn't have been the same without her. She's absolutely lovely, creative as hell, so calming, easy to work with, her work is AMAZING, etc. All my guests loved her too and 2 fellow brides ended up inquiring about her services! I also used her for my engagement photos and we did a really fun boudoir shoot together as a wedding gift for my husband- it turned out so much better than I could have ever imagined. Now I'm pregnant and already planning on a family shoot with Heather- she's a part of our lives now!

Heather is an unbelievably talented photographer. She captured the most magical day of our lives beautifully. Her work is awe inspiring and her attention to detail is remarkable. From the minute we met Heather, we were not only taken with her artistic ability and creative eye but her sweet, calming and comforting personality. She was the perfect person to spend such an important and nerve wracking day with. Leading up to the big day, Heather even scoped out locations for us to take pictures--spots that truly captured the essence of New York City--the place we fell in love with and the reason we wanted to get married here in the first place.

To say that we are happy with Heather's work is an understatement. When we received our photos, we were immediately reminded why we decided to work with her in the first place. She, of course, captured all of the major moments of our wedding day but, beyond that, she captured the moments you don't even realize are happening at the time but are so happy to see when it's all said and done. Without question, Heather's work is a labor of love and we feel so lucky that we had her on our wedding day!

Heather Waraska shot our wedding on 9/15/12, and we had the most amazing experience. Everything about our wedding was top grade, including all the vendors, and Heather is truly in a class above the rest. Every interaction with her was wonderful, from the first meeting we had to get to know each other, to my late night phone calls when I had tons of questions, to the day-off. What's more, our wedding guests also commented on how fantastic she was, that she was always there at the right moment, but never intrusive - it was as if she was part of the wedding party and fit right in. She has a wonderful way about her that made everyone, including me, incredibly comfortable and at ease. She is also extremely creative and sees opportunities for beautiful moments before they happen, and captured all of them. We are in love with our pictures and our family is as well. Every important moment, person, and detail, is captured and the quality and caliber of the photos match her, the best. We can't wait for the next important milestone to invite her back to be a part of our life.

Heather did an amazing job for my wedding, and the entire process of working with her, from our engagement pictures to the post-wedding follow up, was a pleasure. Heather is a thorough professional. She is responsive and reliable. She spent a lot longer than the allotted time for our engagement photos, and it was a great warm-up for the wedding. Prior to the wedding, she was meticulous about having us provide her with information about the day-of plan, and all of the people and shots we wanted to get. On the day of the wedding, she came early to scope out some awesome scenes for photos, which was really helpful as we were, of course, on a tight schedule. She worked efficiently, but without rushing us, and made sure to get all the shots we needed, while still getting plenty of unplanned candids. She also made sure to get shots of all the details at the venue that we had worked really hard on and wanted to capture. During the wedding Heather was unobtrusive, but still everywhere at once and captured all of our amazing moments. We were really happy to have someone who took photos and directed as needed (for portraits), but did not interfere with the natural flow of the wedding as some photographers sometimes do.
And most importantly, the photos were absolutely breathtaking! They are unique without being kitschy, and artistic without looking pretentious. We got many, many compliments on them, and we are having a really hard time selecting our favorites for an album because there are so, so many great shots. Heather really did an incredible job, and we could not be happier with our photos and would recommend them to anyone. I am a professional wedding planner. I have owned my business for 10 years, and during this time I have had the privilege of working with Heather on many of my clients weddings. I have also collaborated with Heather on multiple photo shoots. Her photos are stunning and she is always a joy to work with. SO, when I was engaged, I knew exactly who to call. My wedding photos were stunning. They managed to capture the joy I felt on the day. I have always loved her, but I love her more now that my home is now filled with images that she was able to capture. She was a joy to have around on such an important day!

I VERY strongly recommend Heather. With over 200 weddings under my belt, I have worked countless photographers. There is a reason why I (and my clients) keep coming back to Heather. She is an artist who is able to capture on film the joy of wedding days. My husband and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had from start to finish working with Heather! She is a true artist and the story that she told of our wedding through her photography is absolutely stellar. We felt that she truly captured the look we were going for: warm, elegant, natural and unconventional, yet classic at the same time.

Heather's easy and professional manner makes you feel like you can relax and know you are in the most capable hands. She even offered some advice on a couple vendors to take a look at and because of Heather's recommendation, we found our most perfect officiant Susanna Weiss. Even Susanna couldn't rave enough about weddings she has officiated where Heather is the photographer...she said she always breathes a sigh of relief knowing Heather is there and won't distract anyone from the focus of the ceremony.

We couldn't be happier with our photos and are so grateful to have found her!

If you are looking for a wedding photographer who has one of the best eyes in the business, is fun/hip to hang out with and really cares about the couple she photographs, Heather is it.

Heather can spot and create the most beautiful settings for her photographs no matter where she is, and the final products are flawless. Guests barely notice her presence (a big plus for a wedding) but she captures every moment and detail seemingly effortlessly. She's a joy to hang out with -- our engagement session was a blast -- and she's totally stress free. She's also great at recommending other vendors -- she helped us find our band and it turned out to be the hit of the night.

You're really missing out if you don't check out her website and book her if you can.

We had an incredible experience working with Heather. She was responsive to all our questions leading up to the wedding, scheduled a pre-call to ensure we were aligned on the shots we wanted and was incredible day-of. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Heather Waraksa is. Her photographs speak for themselves, obviously, but they can't tell you what a chill, funny, cool, great lady she is. She is efficient, but made all of our family feel at ease; professional, but blended in well with our friends; and got the job done while having fun (at least I think she did!) We are so happy that Heather was the one to document this time in our lives. And oh yeah... our wedding photographs were absolutely stunning.

Heather is a great photographer and a lovely person. She spent the time and care to make sure we would love our wedding photos. We didn't hire a videographer, so we were entrusting the documentation to her! She has a great eye for light. Our wedding planners highly recommended her based on her portfolio and use of film.

We chose the package with a back-up photographer for 10 hours. I think this package makes the most sense for the majority of weddings.

Heather did an incredible job, she's an artistic photographer and a very personable person to work with. It was a pleasure having her be a part of our wedding and the photos we were left with are beautiful. Everyone who sees the photos tells us what a great job our photographer did.

Heather is an outstanding artist with an amazing eye. She does not produce 'stock' wedding photography. She produces photos that magazines wish they had! No two weddings are the same - and she makes sure to capture the individual nature of each wedding!
The price is high - but it plays out in the quality and uniqueness of the photos. My one comment would be that I would have hoped a base wedding album would have been included as part of the package (at the same price). That would have made me give a 5-star for value. Then again, I may not be affording the right dollar-value to her artistic abilities!

Without a doubt, Heather is a talented photographer. I fell in love with the pictures on her website and was so excited to have her photograph my small 60-person wedding. Unfortunately, Heather did not come through for me—she delivered an incomplete wedding portfolio and I’m still grappling with the loss of not having pictures from such a special, once-in-a-lifetime event.

To be specific, Heather did not take a full length picture of me in my wedding dress and veil, or a picture of the back of my wedding dress with the train down—truly beyond comprehension.

Heather and her assistant somehow missed my mother and best friend putting on my veil for the first time. They also missed me descending from the bridal suite on my way to the ceremony. There are no pictures of my father and me walking arm-in-arm as we approach the ceremony. No pictures of me in my wedding dress with my mother. And the list goes on…..

I relive the day often, wishing I had directed Heather or her assistant to take pictures of these critical moments. But after paying $6,000 for Heather’s talent and expertise, I trusted her and her assistant to capture the basic, classic images that are a part of every standard wedding portfolio. With two photographers at such a small wedding, it's hard to understand how so much was missed.

I am left full of regret and wishing that I had chosen another photographer. Knowing that I didn’t come close to getting the value out of a $6,000 investment is frustrating, but I would pay many times that amount to have the missing images from my wedding.

I know Heather has captured some gorgeous images for some very lucky brides, but unfortunately I was not one of them. I am truly heartbroken.
