Professional, personable and fun!!!

Reverend Burden exceeded expectations in all ways. She took time to meet with us to understand our needs and then personalized the service in a way that was inclusive, fun, and serious. We are a mixed faith couple, and our families were each wanting their respected faiths (Christian and Buddhist) to be respected in the ceremonies. There was a need to get this right, and Julie did just that. Both of our families complimented the service. She was just professional in all ways. We received numerous compliments on the vows and professionalism of how she conducted the service. If you are looking for a minister who can speak to the needs of families with varying faiths, and want a formality but also levity in your wedding - we highly recommend her. There might be less expensive options but I found her pricing spot-on for what she brings to the ceremony. I highly recommend taking her up on the consultation piece since that's where she has a chance to get to know you.

Highly Recommend for premarital and officiant services

There were several officiants we considered during the wedding planning process. Julie stood out to us because she offered premarital counseling as a licensed professional counselor and officiant services. She is easy to talk to and responsive. We were a long-distance couple and she was flexible with us arranging virtual and in-person counseling sessions. We reflected on different subjects during premarital counseling which was thought-provoking and helpful to have a third person facilitating that conversation. She worked with us to customize our ceremony, which was beautifully written and well-executed. We are grateful that she was a part of our wedding planning journey as fiances to now husband and wife. We surely will miss our counseling sessions with her and we plan to do our best to put the lessons we learned into action throughout our marriage. Thank you again, Julie.

Great experience

Julie was thorough and helpful guiding us through this process. During the consultation before the wedding she walked us through everything we needed to know and pointed out aspects we hadn’t yet considered. She was very open to our suggestions and working with us. The day of the ceremony went great. She is well spoken and had a nice ceremony prepared.

Excellent Prep and Ceremony

Julie was absolutely outstanding! She met exactly what we asked for at our ceremony as well as providing excellent guidance before the wedding via her prepare and enrich course. We could tell she really cared about making sure that we were happy and had what we wanted.

All the above was especially appreciated with the odd time we are living in right now. Julie was flexible for all meetings, and was able to meet via video chat to discuss whatever we needed.

Please consider using her for your wedding, you won’t be disappointed!

Julie was amazing! My husband and I made a last minute decision to get married and Julie was so flexible. We were able to get an amazing ceremony that was somewhat custom to us within a week! She is very professional and helpful. I will always recommend her!

Excellent Communication and Ceremony (Despite COVID)

Through COVID, Julie did a great job meeting with us via Zoom and talking about what we wanted for our wedding. She was very upfront, responsive, performed our in-person ceremony respecting social distancing during COVID, and even sent our signed marriage license with a tracking number which she provided us with the same day. We had our license back in a week. We are very happy Julie also did a great job for us on such short notice - less than three weeks to be exact, due to the changes caused by constantly changing laws. If we had to do it all over again, with a larger party and longer ceremony, we’d happily choose Julie again.

Fantastic Officiant

From our first meeting, to the rehearsal, to the wedding itself, Julie was nothing short of professional, warm, genuine, and kind. Planning a wedding is no small feat -- Julie took the time to get to know us, crafted a beautiful ceremony, and kept us smiling when nerves threatened to take over. Special Ceremony

We reached out to Heart Filled Journey needing someone to do a small ceremony on a very short notice. Julie responded quickly. She gave us a very intimate ceremony at our home. Wedding Officiant

Rev. Julie Burden was a joy to work with and made our wedding so special! We had a last minute change in the officiant and Rev. Burden was patient and thoughtful enough to make it feel like we’d known her for much longer! We got numerous compliments on her readings and overall presence at the wedding. Would highly recommend her to anyone needing a wedding officiant!

The BEST officiant!

Julie was amazing from the first phone call I had with her! She was very communicative and organized. We also did premarital counseling sessions with her. She is very patient, kind, and has an enormous amount of empathy. She helped us with communication skills and also we got to know each other better, which I think helped when it came to the ceremony.

We were nervous about having a meaningful ceremony when we didn’t know the officiant prior to being engaged but Julie blew us away! We did a customized ceremony and we didn’t know the first thing about what to include, but Julie had examples and suggestions that helped to make the right ceremony for us. Her words were so kind and she includes all the guests in the ceremony. We received endless compliments at the wedding and after about her. She also took care of mailing in our marriage license. Thank you so much for being part of our day, Julie!!

We knew Julie was right for our wedding from the moment we first spoke. She really got to know us and what we were looking for in our ceremony. Julie was wonderful! I found her a week before our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the ceremony. We met with her a few days prior to the event and she went over everything with us; from the time she would get to our home to the way she was going to file our marriage certificate. We had to rearrange our wedding and lost our original officiant. We found Julie on the internet. We liked the way she was presented online. We made contact by email initially and then went to her premises with only two days to the wedding. We instantly clicked with Julie She understood exactly the type of ceremony we wanted;; Christian led but relaxed. On the day many guests commented on Julie’s ability, how everyone felt at ease instantly and that she had the right degree of laughter and seriousness. From meeting with Julie, and with only two days to go, I felt absolutely confident that we had made the right decision in choosing her and we’re so grateful for having found her. She did the best job on the day of all officiants I have seen at weddings ever and we couldn’t be more grateful to her for making our ceremony so special.

Julie was so professional and helpful as an Officiant. She took the time to really let us customize our ceremony to what we wanted it to be. Our biggest requirement was incorporating our children into the ceremony and she was able to do that. From the first meeting with Julie we knew she was the perfect person for our Wedding Ceremony. She made the process so easy with the choices of Vows to the choice of wording for the ring exchage. Even though we had only had a couple of meetings I felt like she was able to prepare and perform a ceremony for Kevin and I as if she had known us for years. My family asked how long we had known Julie and were surprised that we had only met her a couple of times to plan the ceremony. She was even more personable than we had expected! It was the Best Day Ever!

We couldn't have been happier with the services we received from Reverend Julie. From our first phone contact with her my fiancé and I felt very comfortable with Julie. She has a warming personality and was very pleasant to work with. After our initial phone interview we met at her office and she took the time to go step by step through all the different parts of the ceremony and got our feed back on what we would like. We decided to have her do a completely customized ceremony for us and everything came out better than expected. On the day of the ceremony everything went just as planned. It was truly a lovely ceremony and we couldn't have asked for anything better.

We loved Julie's demeanor and she made us feel calm during the ceremony. She was well prepared and seemed to really care about what we wanted. We requested a non-religious ceremony and didn't feel judged or looked down upon because of it.

Julie was able to accommodate all our requests and addressed any concerns. Both of our families loved her and we loved that she was able to provide a ceremony that worked for my husband and I as I am a spiritual person and he is not. Although she is very professional she did interact with us and the family in very warm way and commanded the room well when she needed to.
I would recommend Julie's services to anyone looking for an officiant that is not affiliated with a church but who is experienced and professional. I'm so glad she was part of our wedding day.

Reverend Julie Burden is absolutely the best wedding officiant! Julie is warm, kind, funny and thoughtful in her approach to making weddings memorable. Julie made our wedding so much more special with her openness and beautiful vows. Julie asked me and my husband to take a deep breath and be present in the moment and it truly helped us to focus on each other and the vows that we repeated. Julie added some very special touches throughout the ceremony that left us and all of our guests either laughing or a little teary eyed. She truly loves what she does and conveys the kind of unconditional love and acceptance that everyone desires in the ceremony that she performs. She made our wedding such a beautiful experience for us, our family, and all of our friends in attendance. She is simply the best and we are so grateful for her. She brings more meaning to the vows by remembering lost loved ones and asking those present to support the couple in ways that enrich their union. Julie is the best! Having her as our officiant made our small ceremony very special to us. I was able to schedule the ceremony with her the same week I first contacted her, so I'm very grateful for her flexibility. I felt comfortable with her and her style made the event meaningful for us without feeling too traditional. We met with her at her office, and I appreciated that she gave us clear directions on how to get there. We had a celebration a few weeks ago with our family to participate in our cultural customs, but now we truly feel married thanks to Julie!

Julie officiated my civil wedding ceremony at 09/21/2014. She's super easy-going, very organized and perfectly on-time. Usually she will have a meeting with the couple before the ceremony, to go through the process and customize the words. Within the ceremony, she will dress up exactly as you requested, and comfort you from the beginning to the end. I don't think I'm able to find an even better officiant to be there.

Reverend Julie officiated out wedding service and was remarkable. She gave us several options for the readings and provided guidance based on our experiences. She returned calls promptly and was flexible with the location of our wedding.

From the moment we arrived Julie made us feel welcome and at ease. She walked us through the ceremony and all the steps following the ceremony. Julie was very patient with us while getting a few family members on line through Skype and FaceTime. Her readings were beautiful and touching, when she saw that I was getting misty eyed, she immediately made me feel at ease by acknowledging that tears are perfectly acceptable. I would recommend Julie to anyone looking for an officiant.

Julie performed our vow renewal on with less than two weeks notice. She was very easy to work with and made us feel very at ease in what can be a stressful time. She made sure that she and us were well prepared for the event. We would highly recommend her for your wedding or vow renewal. We cant say thank enough!

Julie covered all the bases! We have a blended family - she new exactly how to operate in that situation, she had great suggestions, she included my boys in the ceremony, etc. She built a ceremony around our wishes, wants and desires. She was on time. She did not waste our time with over planning. We got exactly what we wanted from her. I hope I don't need her again - but if I do, i have her number!

Reverend Julie was incredibly professional, kind and wonderful to work with. She offered the perfect mix of guidance and flexibility when creating our service, and was by far the most professional (and timely) vendor we worked with during our wedding process. It was a pleasure to have her officiate!

I loved having Julie as our reverend! She talked with us before the wedding and helped us plan a wedding that reflected who we are as a couple. I really saw her strengths during our rehearsal. I felt like our wedding coordinator was not giving the group a very good idea of what to expect the day of the wedding and Julie was able to step in and lead the group. That helped ease the anxiety knowing that Julie had everything in control. She was on time to every event and was easy to get in touch with during the wedding process. The ceremony was perfect and I felt like she was the one that reminded me to take a deep breath and be in the moment with my husband.

Everything was beautiful. Julie offered us support and kept things flowing. All of our guest raved about the readings she picked and the whole wedding in general. Everyone liked Julie and was impressed with everything she did for us.

Rev. Julie did an awesome job! She is very easy to work with and is very attentive to making your ceremony include anything and everything you could possibly want. We met with her about two months before the ceremony to go over our ideal ceremony. During the meeting I realized I didn't really have as many specific ideas as I thought. That was no problem however Rev. Julie was quick to offer suggestions or ideas that we might like to include. Having said that, I felt like after the meeting we didn't really give her much to go off of to create our ceremony. The final product of our ceremony was perfect! It was like the whole time we were talking with her, she was absorbing information about our personalities and our relationship. We had many people compliment us on how eloquent our ceremony was. I would definitely recommend Rev. Julie! I feel like she was perfect for me and my husband who are church-goers, but really didn't feel close enough to our church to have someone there officiate our wedding.

Looking back, one of the best choices we made was choosing Julie to officiate in our marriage ceremony. She made us both feel so comfortable and at ease during the most important part of the day. Julie was our officiant for our wedding on 3/16/13 and I would HIGHLY recommend her to my family and friends. Julie was absolutely amazing! During the (stressful) run-up to the wedding, Julie provided us with guidance and calming words. I think that Rev.Julie Burden was great. She came out to out house and performed our wedding. We are planning on having our BIG wedding for all our family and friends in Dec and have already asked her to renew our vows for us at that time. My mother lives over 300 miles away and she was on speaker phone during the whole service. Thank you Mrs. Burden. It was great.

We found Julie online, called her, met with her, and felt extremely comfortable. She helped walk us through everything and made it almost effortless. She was fabulous during the ceremony. She was a part of it, but kept the spotlight on us. Many of our guests commented on how well she officiated...which strikes me as telling, as that is generally not what they focus on. Words really cannot express the gratitude that I feel towards Julie for what she did for Eryn and Marcellus. As a mother, I felt the most important thing was to give the two of them tools and strategies for a successful marriage, not just a pretty service. Eryn and Marcellus started working with Julie 6 months before the ceremony to learn communication and partnering skills and through that process she helped them develop a ceremony that no one who was there will soon forget! Eryn and Marcellus have already met challenges in their marriage, but instead a pulling them apart they have grown together and I believe it was the work they did with Julie that prepared them to meet these challenges.
