Hazel was an absolute dream: professional, personable, and takes pride in her work. I worked with Hazel for her hair and makeup expertise for my wedding photoshoot early 2021.
Planning/Prep: Hazel was prompt in her responses to my questions, especially with regards to cleaning procedures and my preferred hair/makeup styles - all in a short timeframe. She reviewed my pinterest board and asked very relevant questions that helped with my decision making with other vendors (e.g. our florist). Hazel was very timely in providing a proposal and setting up a time in my calendar - she is very organized!
Day-Of: Hazel arrived extra early to our appointment, which is a HUGE plus in my book, particularly when things can easily get crazy on your wedding/photoshoot day. Hazel was wonderful to work with - she took great care in applying my makeup and working on my hair while staying on time with our schedule. She washed her hands, cleaned her brushes thoroughly, and had her mask on the entire time. Because of the short time frame, we did not have a hair/ makeup trial beforehand, but the look she created for me was exactly what I had imagined (and more, because I'm not great with makeup myself!). Additionally, although we had never met before my wedding photoshoot day, I took great comfort in having Hazel around for the first-look with my now husband, since we did not have any family and friends over due to COVID. She kindly offered to take videos/photos of us, with my husband seeing me in my dress for the first time. Couldn't have asked for a better hair/makeup experience during one of my biggest lifetime milestones.
Follow-up: Hazel checked in after our appointment to see how the photoshoot had went. She also sent a follow-up email. This was indicative of her great care and investment into her clients, which I highly appreciate.

Hire Hazel to feel beautiful and relaxed on your big day!
I love Hazel and the team she brought!!! Hazel was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding. We had only about 4 hours to do hair and makeup for 13 ladies, but her and her team made the day feel smooth and relaxing! Hazel was easy to communicate with from the very beginning. The trial was fun and comforting! I highly recommend Hazel! We all felt so beautiful!!!!

Hazel was amazing in every possible way. I gave her 5 stars for everything because she truly deserves it! Hazels quickly responsive and supportive of any direction you give. We did a trial run that I absolutely loved! As time passed, my vision for the day changed and I suddenly wanted a very different style. I reached out to her, nervously expecting hesitation or frustration. I was surprised with her supportive and delightful responses to my sudden change! Hazel TRULY wants to bring your dreams and visions to life! She is quickly responsive and supportive of any direction you give. When the day came, she took the time to craft everyone’s look to their facial structure, skin type, and desired look while keeping in mind the overall desired look I had in mind (as the bride hehe). The entire bridal party felt luxurious and drop-dead-GORGEOUS with her creations! She’s extremely knowledgeable of her products, skin types, and how they work together. She also provides extremely helpful tips and advice leading up to your event on how to achieve your best skin! I couldn’t have chosen a better artist, and neither can you! Hazel is THAT GIRL!! ❤️❤️ -

Hazel, I just want to start by thanking you so much for giving me the best bridal experience I could have ever imagined. As a little girl, you always dream of feeling like a real life princess on your wedding day and you truly made me feel nothing short of one. Your kindness, laughter, and smile are contagious. You instill confidence in your brides not only physically through your talent with makeup but also emotionally. Hazel has a gift that is undeniable when it comes to being a MUA. My makeup was absolutely FLAWLESS. I was in awe of the way Hazel left me feeling when I first looked in the mirror after my makeup trial. I will never forget telling her “I want exactly this tomorrow for my wedding” and she did just that. She listens to her clients and takes their opinions seriously. She responds to constructive criticism with grace and will fix anything you don’t like. Hazel is amazing! She’s a true professional who uses high-end makeup, and my wedding makeup stayed flawless all day and night, even through hours of dancing in the summer heat. It looked incredible in person and in photos.
From booking to trials to the big day, Hazel made everything so easy and stress-free. She’s incredibly talented, super sweet, and such a joy to work with. She also did hair/make up for my mom, sister, MOH, and niece, let’s just say everyone (all diff age ranges) loved how they turned out and the entire experience!

I booked Hazel for my wedding hair and makeup along with a few bridesmaids/family and I cannot say enough good things! From the first time meeting her at the trial, she put me at ease, listened to my wants and don’t wants , and completely nailed the vision I had with little inspo pictures to go from in terms of my makeup. I was very particular about my eyebrows and she worked her magic and they never looked better ! Hazel was such a good sport during a hectic wedding morning. I was told by other hairstylist the look I wanted for my hair couldn’t be done due to the heaviness and surplus of hair I have , but she KILLED IT !!!! She is kind, funny and so very talented! 20/10! -

The BEST service and experience
I can’t say enough about Hazel and her work. She was punctual, professional and prepared to make this nervous bride feel beautiful on her elopement day. Prior to the elopement, she kept in touch and made sure she understood my looks and preferences, and was available for questions. At 40 and with changing skin, my concern was that my makeup would look cake-y. Hazel provided me with an airbrush makeup look that didn’t make me look over done.
She is sweet, and carries a beautiful, fun energy that shines while she works her magic. I’d hire her again in a heartbeat! -

Hazel is the Best!
I cannot recommend Hazel enough!! First of all, she’s so dang sweet & so much fun to hang out with. Both my trial & my wedding morning felt like I was just chillin’ with my gal pal! Talk about easing any nerves! Hazel was extremely receptive to any critiques I had or changes I wanted to make & made me feel very comfortable in speaking up about anything I might want to change - which is a huge deal and a relief. But honestly, she recreated my inspo photos flawlessly anyway, so there wasn’t much to change! Hazel was prompt, kind, and an excellent communicator! She was also affordable for being a travel hair & makeup artist - I just truly cannot recommend her enough! She had me & my crew looking and feeling like goddesses! My hair didn’t move an inch, despite the fact that I didn’t stop dancing (badly) for even a minute during our reception, but still was a breeze to take out? Say what? And need I mention even the MEN attending my wedding commented on how my makeup hadn’t moved an inch or worn off at all by the end of our 9 hour event. Insanity!! She’s a master of hair & makeup, you guys! -

Hazel is a superwoman with an excellent eye for detail! I recently got married on May 20, 2022, but have worked with Hazel on now three MUA/hair experiences (boudoir, bridal trial, and wedding day). When I say Hazel is a professional, I truly mean that in every way. Each time I have met with Hazel, she always made me feel so comfortable and mesmerized by her work at the end. On my wedding day, she communicated with me early in the morning, arrived early (quite literally 10 minutes after my girls), and finished our hair and makeup early so I could do my first look! Before wrapping up with each bridesmaid, Hazel made sure each gal was 100% confident in their makeup look. I absolutely loved that attention to detail. It shows you that Hazel truly loves the work she does. If you are considering a MUA for your wedding day (or any special occasion), I cannot recommend Hazel anymore!

Great experience!
I have the pleasure to work with Hazel for my wedding. She did my make up and hair. I wanna start by saying that I am the type of person who never wears make up and I am just very hesitant to it. Hazel had show me that makeup can be done beautifully and customized according to each person’s desires. I was extremely please with her job. On top of her amazing job, let’s talk about her vibe and personality. She is so loving and caring. She was so patient with my little daughter and oldest kids being around, I appreciate it that very much. She is also very professional and respectful. Followed the schedule perfectly. Amazing, natural hair and makeup
Hiring Hazel and her team was a fantastic choice for our wedding! Hazel herself did my makeup and hair. I was able to send her inspo pics that I liked, and I opted to pay to have a hair/makeup trial prior to the wedding. I really liked that because not only did it make sure I knew I would like my hair and makeup, but it gave me a chance to get to know and get comfortable with Hazel herself. She is an amazingly kind person and her hair and makeup skill speaks for itself. I actually texted her the next day after my wedding because at 12:30 am, more than 12 hours after I initially got my hair/makeup done, my makeup still looked almost perfect, which I honestly don't understand how it was possible, but it was. Her sister Alexis did hair for the bridal party/moms, and Leah did their makeup. Both Alexis and Leah were incredibly kind, skilled, and fun to work with! All of my bridal party and both of our moms absolutely loved their hair and makeup as well! I can't recommend Hazel and her team highly enough! -

Hazel is absolutely amazing. I'm so grateful I found her for my wedding hair and makeup styling. There is a reason why she has won so many awards!!! I have had my hair and makeup done professionally by other stylists, but I truly feel like Hazel's style matched and enhanced mine and my bridesmaids' natural beauty the best. All of my bridesmaids agreed it was their favorite makeup they've ever gotten, and that hanging with Hazel the morning-of for styling felt so comfortable that it was like she was another member of our wedding party! Hazel was one of the easiest & best decisions I made for my wedding day. I don’t wear make up often and when I do it’s only mascara, so I wanted something natural, but with just enough glam to give me a little something extra on my wedding day. Hazel is BOMB!
10/10 for Hazel. She is a true visionary artist and has a unique creative eye. She’s detail oriented with her makeup looks and works with your features as opposed to trying doing makeup trends that may/may not work well for you. Hazel was an amazing stylist for my wedding! Right at the start of our first conversation I could tell she was sweet, warm, knowledgeable and professional. All of these qualities were important to me since I had never had professional makeup or hair services done in the past. Hazel was so helpful while I was deciding on what look I would love most of my wedding and the trial was so wonderful as well. Hazel was also great with taking feedback and making changes to my look between the trial and the wedding day based on my taste and comfort. The day of my wedding she came with her sister to do makeup and hair for me and several bridesmaids, they were both so kind, and the finished looks were so lovely. I would recommend Hazel for any event where you want to look your best! -

I highly recommend Hazel & her team for hair and makeup. What stood out immediately about Hazel is how personable she is, I felt so comfortable with her immediately. I reached out to Hazel via the Knot, I was interested in hiring her for my bridal hair/makeup and requested a trial. Hazel went above and beyond! She had a full day booked ahead of her on the day I requested my trial (my bridal shower) but she made it work. She fit me in extra early because I really wanted to experience the makeup with a full day ahead of me. I loved my makeup and received so many compliments.
Fast forward… we are about 3 weeks out to my wedding day and my venue cancels on me due to COVID restrictions. When I told Hazel she was so sympathetic and went above and beyond AGAIN. She reached out to her resources and tried to help locate a new venue that we could possibly book. Luckily we found a venue and Hazel & her team did such a great job with our hair and makeup. I have curly hair and it was so important that my hair was left natural. She executed my vision and my hair stayed in place even into the morning, LOL! Needless to say, is Hazel doesn’t just offer great services but you really feel like she becomes a friend. My family even hired her for my niece's birthday photos. -

Two weeks before my wedding we needed to move our ceremony from Sequoia National Park to Saratoga. Hazel was the most professional and expedient response that I got. We also talked about our interests in national parks. I was sold.
When she got to my hotel room she was immediately incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of the first things she said was that her son has the same nasa pajama shorts. That was such a comforting ice breaker. I don't regularly wear makeup in my everyday life, so I wasn't able to helpfully articulate my wedding look other than "ethereal". I wanted to look like a fairy and Hazel worked with me to figure out what that would look like for me. She was extremely informative and helpful. She even tweaked my wedding look after seeing my wedding dress. (She gave me body glitter, which I really enjoyed for my aesthetic. Plus I made my spouse sparkly all night. A total win in my book) Hazel is also just a swell person. She gelled really well with the rest of the vendors I hired. It was as if she was always part of our team. I really enjoyed having my make up done by her and spending part of my day with her. -

Oh my goodness, where do I begin. Hazel did make up for my engagement photos a few months ago- also, hair and make up for my wedding last weekend. Whoo hoo! What I really appreciate about her is that she genuinely and authentically cares about her clients looking as good as they possibly can on their special day. She absolutely goes the extra mile to ask exactly what kind of makeup look you are going for. She does a quick survey to make sure that you and her are on the same page, whether it be with pictures, videos, or magazines. She's open to suggesting things, adjusting things, adding things, or helping out in any other way that she can, even outside of makeup and hair. And we all know that 'things', (whether it be adding the perfect neck accessory, bobby pinning your crown in correctly, or even helping you fit into your wedding dress) are so important to us ladies on our special day. I remember the morning of my wedding I was seriously stressed and on the verge of tears and she and her sister calmly gave me words of hope and encouragement as they did my makeup and my hair. Her and her team are not only thorough and meticulous when it comes to doing outstanding makeup on a special day, but they exude a positive demeanor that is downright contagious! When you request a makeup artist to do makeup on such a very special day, you need someone who actually cares about you looking good, just as much as you do. You want someone who is highly skilled, experienced and honestly, is thorough AF. And Hazel would definitely be your girl.Beauty by Hazel Skye's reply:

I was so happy to have Hazel with me on my wedding day. She and her assistant made everyone feel so at ease and everyone commented on how great my hair and makeup were. Hazel and her sister were wonderful to work with for my wedding and I was thrilled with how my hair and make up turned out. They were very professional and fun to work with, and followed COVID precautions with masks and sanitization. I was very impressed at how they managed their time, and they had me and my bridesmaid ready to go an hour before schedule which made me feel relaxed leading up to the ceremony. Hazel was amazing to work with. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was perfect. She is super friendly, professional and extremely responsive. Even after being outside for hours in 105 degree weather, wearing a face mask for most of the night and then dancing, at the end of the night my makeup and hair still looked amazing!!! Talented with a warm personality!
I ended up booking with Hazel fairly last minute since my original artist bailed on me! I was very upset, but in the end it was a blessing in disguise! I set my appt with Hazel for my trial and it was a seamless process. She immediately makes you feel comfortable and listens to your wishes and concerns. She was so patient with me as I even tried on 4 lipstick colors until I found the one I was happy with. Hazel and I hit it off so well, I invited her to my wedding reception! Not only was she professional and so easy to talk to, but her pricing is also fair and reasonable. I now consider her a friend and will book her for my next event without hesitation. Hazel is so warm and kind and made me look stunning for my Sunday elopement at Deer Park Villa. She was able to come to my home for the trial back on Feb on a Friday, put up with my twitchy face and then was flexible enough to do just me for my elopement and she will return in fall to do me again and my mother in law, sister, mom and cousin for a larger celebration. Her flexibility and warmth and professionalism are second to none and my mom, a hairdresser, was extremely impressed with her work. Her contouring and many options for eyelashes are two things that I absolutely loved. I hated to say goodbye to her before my ceremony as i feel so close to her. Her communications are timely and thoughtful and she is quick to make edits to contracts. I am so lucky with Hazel!! -

I really don’t know anything about make ups and my fiancé is not a fan of them so when it’s time to book for a make up artist, I went to wedding wire to search for one. I usually don’t trust the number of stars or reviews, since they can be subjective, but the background and experiences of that person. Luckily, I found Hazel and she has all of those things. A dazzling reviews, good background and experiences. I immediately reached out to her and after that I knew she was the one. She’s very accommodating on what I want and is open with suggestions.
Fast forward to my wedding day, FYI you can’t and should not mess with a stressed bride who didn’t get enough sleep because she will break down and cry during her make up. That’s what happened to me and guess who calmed me down and told me that it’s my day and nothing matters but me? HAZEL!!!!! She’s not just a make up artist but can be a person who can assure you that everything is going to be fine. By the way, my make up was perfect, very simple, just like how my fiancé and I wanted. Everyone loved it and it really stayed even after all the dancing considering it was so hot that day. She also did my mom’s make up and of course, she was also poppin on that day. Hazel did my bridal makeup, makeup for 8 bridesmaids and my mom and mother in law for our wedding in September 2019.
I had a bad experience getting a makeup trial done with someone else, so was anxious when I went to my trial with Hazel but she blew me away! She listened to exactly what I wanted and made it happen, providing helpful suggestions here and there based on the look I was going for. She is easy to communicate with and responsive, punctual, professional but so warm and friendly.

I found Hazel online late in the game (mere couple of weeks or so before my wedding) and went with her due to the glowing reviews I read online. She responded promptly to my initial inquiry and was great at communicating her availability and pricing. What's more, Hazel is honest, flexible, and open to ideas without being judgmental. I don't easily trust people with any sort of personal styling on myself, but Hazel is an expert at helping you figure what you want, what works and doesn't work, and ultimately bringing your vision to life! In fact, I gave her various feedback and ideas overtime and she took them all with grace and styled me perfectly with my dress and flowers. Hazel was professional throughout the whole process -- she responded to my messages, showed up on time, and did everything as she promised in the time frame she promised. Hazel was such a great beauty stylist for my sister's wedding. She came in early in the morning to take care of my sister's hair and makeup and came back later in the day to ensure the rest of the bridal party looked just as good standing next to the bride. I had a lot of hair to work with and she was able to come up with a great style on the fly and didn't miss a single strand in making everything look picture perfect. I would highly recommend her for your next wedding, date night, or any event if significance because she will make you look like a rockstar while putting a smile on your face. -

Hazel was so easy to work with, and she clearly loves what she does. I booked her to do hair and makeup for my wedding in Berkeley. About a month before the wedding, she came to my house to do a trial run, which was totally necessary because I rarely do hair anything with my hair and almost never wear makeup. On the wedding day, she showed up before I did and gracefully dealt with our first wedding "snafu" of the day... the venue didn't want to let us in until the caterer got there. We got inside eventually and Hazel did a brilliant job with me and two of my bridesmaids, all for a very reasonable price! Would hire again if I ever get re-married (I hope I don't)! -
