The most BEAUTIFUL wedding venue in the KC area!

Thank you Hawthorne House for making my wedding dreams come true! From the moment I turned onto the property for the first time, my jaw dropped. Everything about the venue is stunning. We had our ceremony in the chapel, which was a DREAM! Bright natural light, wooden pews, grand piano, white exterior, big staircase, a rod iron bridge surrounded by trees -everything was so simple and beautiful, & that isn't even all of it! The reception space - the wrap around porch, bridal suite with a BALCONY, hardwood floors, natural light, gold chandeliers - I mean I could go on and on, but it was a literal dream come true. Everything was so beautiful that we hardly used any additional decoration besides flowers and centerpieces! Thank you Elizabeth for answering so many questions, being a joy to work with and allowing us to have our wedding at HH! We still have people telling us how beautiful the venue was, even 5 months later!

The Perfect Venue

We cannot say enough amazing things about Hawthorne House. It is beautiful, all inclusive and well managed. They were so easy to work with and so helpful on the weeks and months leading up. We used this location for our bridal photos to get ready, ceremony at the chapel, reception and cocktail hour. It included all alcohol needs and all of our photos were used on the grounds! Highly recommend even if it is expensive.

Our wedding was a DREAM COME TRUE!! Hawthorne House was absolutely gorgeous and our guests raved about it!

We lucked out and had perfect weather, allowing us to use the porch and lawn which looked beautiful and green in early Sept. The chapel and reception hall are so pretty on their own that they did not need a lot of decor -- we used candle votives and greenery as our center pieces and it took my breath away when I first saw it!

Not only was the space exceptional, but Adona and her team were organized, friendly and quick to reply to ALL of our crazy questions!

The bartenders moved fast and kept our guests happy.

I would highly recommend using this venue, especially if you want to use the outdoor space! Thank you for making our wedding the best day ever!!

Amazing! The chapel and reception hall are at the same location. Easy to work with, beautiful, and hardly any decorating needed.

This venue is the perfect place for your wedding and reception for two main reasons: (1) It is utterly gorgeous inside and out, and (2) the staff and in-house services make planning your wedding a breeze! Once you book the Hawthorne House, you don't have to find a caterer or a bartending service, and you don't need to find vendors for tables and chairs, linens, tableware, and etc. It's as close to one-stop shopping as you can get!

I cannot recommend Hawthorne House enough. From the big ideas down to the small details, everything was covered. Irene is an exceptional owner, incredible chef, and organizer extraordinaire. Adonna did an impeccable job running everything the week of the wedding. I am incredibly pleased Hawthorne House will forever be the place memorialized in my wedding photographs.

The Hawthorne house was great for our wedding and reception. Della was extremely nice and helpful throughout the whole process. Angie was our coordinator and she did wonderful. She even went as far as to clean my wife’s dress for a good ten minutes after spotting a stain. The property was outstanding, we had an outside ceremony, but they kept assuring us if the weather went south they could have to chapel ready in no time which was very good to hear. The entire staff made our day enjoyable and easier. All night we were receiving compliments on the event.

Wow, wow, WOW! I just got married at the Hawthorne House on Sunday, September 4, 2016. From the very first encounter to the very last the associates of the Hawthorne House were amazing! I cannot say enough good things about them. I loved everything about my wedding at the Hawthorne House. It may be a litter pricer than other venues but I can honestly say it was worth every penny spent. The HH team not only treated my husband and I with the best service but everyone they encountered. I had several guests at my wedding compliment me on how nice, friendly & accomodating everyone was throughout the wedding. Della and Angie, our Reception Coordinator, were stellar! I couldn't have asked or hoped for better ladies to work with. I would pick the Hawthorne House a million times over as the place to have my wedding and reception. 10,000 thumbs up! Thank you, Hawthorne House!!!!

My husband and I got married here on August 13, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I got so many compliments on the venue, and how beautiful is looked. The grounds are kept so nice, especially during the heat of the summer, and the grass was green and beautiful and the flowers planted around the venue looked fresh as well. Della and Adonna were so incredibly helpful throughout the whole planning process - it really showed on the day of the wedding! Everything went so smoothly - it was truly a stress free day! This venue was perfect in every way - you won't be disappointed!

Hawthorne house is the best wedding venue in KC. The staff is so kind, personable and knowledgeable about the wedding industry. They genuinely cared how my wedding planning was going and always greeted me with kind works and a smile. The venue is beautiful and has all a bride could dream of. Spaces for both outdoor and indoor weddings and receptions as well as getting ready rooms that your hair and makeup artists will love to use. Stop searching and give Della a call, because Hawthorne house is the perfect place to say I do.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Hawthorne House and would highly recommend it to all couples wanting a fairy tale wedding. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony options, as well as a variety of background setting for your photographer. The reception room is gorgeous and the food delicious. I really appreciate Hawthorne House's staff and all they do to make sure that we are able to get everything we want/dream about for our wedding. I'm so excited to have our wedding ceremony and reception here in July! They have an amazing staff, facility and property that makes things look simple yet elegant.

Everything about The Hawthorne House was perfect! Our wedding planning and wedding day went by without any issues or stress because Hawthorne handles just about everything. The venue is stunning and the service and quality of food was top-notch. They made sure everything was what we wanted and were more than helpful answering questions or suggestions. If I could go back and do it all again I wouldn't change a thing!! Thank you Hawthorne House!

My husband lived 1200 miles away when I was searching for our wedding venue so my father went every where with me to help make a decision. We went to around 15 venues and felt that all of them were just so-so. Either their yard needed to be better kept, their carpets needed to replaced, and so on. We kept finding reasons to not use them. When we finally pulled up to the Hawthorne House, we just couldn't believe how beautiful and well-kept it was. Then when we walked in there was no turning back. We couldn't imagine celebrating with our friends and family anywhere else- it was perfect. THEN, we met Della and fell absolutely in love with her. We booked our date that day and we could not have been happier with our decision. Between Della and Adonna, every question we had about planning a wedding (which was a lot) was answered very quickly and always with additional, helpful advice. There was not a single hiccup in the day because of them! Not to mention the food was amazing and the service was perfect. If my husband and I had to do it all over again there is no question in my mind that we would choose Hawthorne House. They took care of us better than anyone could have through the entire process.

Hawthorne House was the first venue we looked at when looking. It was so enchanting that I knew I had to get married there! I loved the grounds, the people, everything. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. It was stunning. All of our guests couldn't stop talking about what a gorgeous place Hawthorne House was! I loved that the Chapel and Reception venue were on the same grounds. I loved being able to take all of our pictures on the grounds as well because they have some really beautiful places for photos. The staff at Hawthorne House was simply amazing. So helpful and willing to answer and crazy questions we had throughout the planning process!

It is hard to put into words what Hawthorne House was to me on my wedding day. It was more than just the venue, the staff really knows how to make you feel special and they help you every step of the way! The venue space itself is beautiful and accommodating to whatever you are wanting. Della and Adonna are both wonderful ladies that actually care about you and want your day to be special and everything you always wanted it to be. They take the time to talk you through everything and answer any questions you have, no matter how silly it may seem. The staff takes a lot of the stress out of planning your wedding, which allows you a chance to enjoy your planning process all the way up to the big day. I couldn't have done it without the help of Della and Adonna! Thank you ladies so much for making my dream wedding a reality! :)

The Hawthorne House was the venue of my dreams. I didn't even know it was there until I got engaged and started looking at my options. If I had it all to do over, I would choose the HH again. They took care of everything and made it so easy. The property is beautiful, the food is delicious, and everything is so convenient since it's all in one location. While it is expensive, the HH is worth it. I have zero complaints about them. Very helpful staff who took care of everything we needed and we had the venue all day and didn't have to worry about another wedding the same day since they only do one wedding per day.

The Hawthorne House was amazing! I found their website online and booked them without having seen the venue in real life. When I finally did see it, it was better than I could have ever imagined! It was so beautiful and perfect! The staff was incredible and went above and beyond to make our wedding day exactly how we envisioned it to be! The staff answered all our questions in a timely manner and did everything they could to make our wedding day exactly what we wanted! The reception was perfect, too! The food was delicious!! We had family with serious food allergies and they were so careful to ensure no cross contamination! Staff was so sweet and understanding they took away any possible stress. I highly recommend this venue!

Hawthorne House was the perfect spot for our June wedding, but it was the service that left the most lasting impression after we got married. Della was available for any and all questions I had- she was quick to respond and had all the information I needed at the drop of a hat. Adonna was a godsend the day of the wedding. She took care of every detail and made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand at all times. She even made a sign for gluten free cookies for us, helped bustle my dress and was available for anything else we needed. I can't recommend Hawthorne House enough- we got so many compliments not only on the beauty of the venue but also on the food!

Working with The Hawthorne House was amazing, the staff was so helpful and their response to emails was on time always. I will miss talking with them often as they made our day perfect. The venue is absolutely perfect and the grounds are stunning. I couldnt be more pleased to of worked with such an amazing venue and every one who came to our wedding was wowed by the whole place! 200% I would recommend them to anyone! Dream Day was a success!

Loved everything about the Hawthorne House and their staff. They thought of everything! Very well organized and accommodating! They even got a safety pin for us just minutes before the wedding started when a button fell off a tuxedo! I am so happy we chose Hawthorne House, many wonderful memories of my daughter's beautiful wedding! If I had another daughter, I would want to go back to HH for her wedding! Love! Love! Love!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Hawthorne House in August. Perfect is the only way to describe our experience. Della was amazing to work with. She is so helpful and makes the whole process stress free. The bridal and grooms suites upstairs are perfect for getting ready. I had hair and makeup artists come on-site and there was plenty of room for my large bridal party to all get ready and hang out. The events of the day all ran smoothly and the wedding coordinator did a great job keeping everyone on schedule. We had a buffet dinner and people were commenting on how good the food was all night. I can honestly say there isn't one thing I would change about my wedding day, The Hawthorne House was truly perfect!

Where do I even begin!? I got married in July and I couldn't be happier with the results at The Hawthorne House. Della is the girl you want to talk to about anything from when you pick your date to the day of, she is there for absolutely everything. When picking a day for the big day make sure you plan for a least a year in advance depending on the day you want. I had a Friday wedding, though I was very hesitant about it being on a Friday, it was the best decision I could of made. A Friday wedding at The Hawthorne House is a little cheaper. Also, I got to set up everything that I needed to set up the day before, on Thursday which was such a big help. They do have a wedding coordinator that you meet with a few weeks before the wedding which she was very helpful. She's there from the beginning of your big day to the last person leaving that night. Pricing is a little high but you defiantly get your moneys worth here. You do get to pick certain packages that can defer your price. As in if you wanted appetizers, an open bar & what you wanted at the bar, etc. For the craziness for the day of they do have two separate rooms for the groomsmen and bridesmaid. The bridesmaid room is such a help because you can get ready there and not leave the venue the whole day. Overall, I really don't think I have anything negative about The Hawthorne House and would suggest this to anyone looking for a beautiful location for the big day!

First off, I can't say enough good things about the Hawthorne House!! I was an out of town bride and Della went above and beyond to accommodate and help me with all the details. My plan from the beginning was to have an indoor wedding in the chapel followed by the reception. Last minute (the day of the wedding) we changed our minds and wanted it outside. That was "no problem" and they had it set up. It was so wonderful to not have to worry about changing locations either. We even got ready there. Really, I couldn't have dreamed of a better wedding! It was flawless!

I looked at a few places for my wedding but once I visited Hawthorne House I knew it was the right place. The chapel & Emerson room were perfect for what I had envisioned and the day was absolutely perfect - there is not one single thing I would change!!

The staff of Hawthorne house was very accommodating and easy to deal with. They offered suggestions when asked but were not the least intrusive. I am very happy with my decision and highly recommend it to anyone considering it!

When my husband and I got engaged in the summer of 2013, I already had my heart set on the Hawthorne House as my venue. My sister had her wedding reception there and I was blown away by the beauty of this place. Dela and the rest of the staff made planning our ceremony and reception so simple. They were always so friendly, professional, and helpful during this busy and hectic time. They all went out of their way to help us and make this experience very special for us. Everything the Hawthorne House had to offer was ideal! They have separate bridal and groomsmen rooms upstairs from the reception hall for the wedding party to hang out and get ready in which was very nice! The chapel was the perfect size and very charming. We were able to decorate how ever we wanted and were given plenty of time to do so. We had a live piano player that sounded amazing in there! The house and the land it is on is gorgeous! It made for the most beautiful pictures. The inside was absolutely stunning! When the candles and chandeliers were lit, it was like a dream. The music sounded great in the reception hall and the dance floor was big enough to fit both of our families who all love to dance. Everyone had such an amazing time. Everything was so organized and the entire day and night went so smoothly which takes a lot of stress away from a nervous bride. I couldn't have asked for more. I couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else and I strongly recommend it to any new bride and groom!

It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL venue and the food is AMAZING! I cannot tell you how many guests complimented the food and said that it was the "best wedding food" they had ever had. The venue is so convenient and wonderful. I would highly, highly recommend Hawthorne House!!

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Hawthorne House. The staff did a great job throughout the process making sure things went smoothly. They were prompt in following up when we had questions leading up to the wedding. On the actual day, Adona did a great job - the timing of events was so smooth and without a hitch! We also really enjoyed the food. The best part about the Hawthorne House is the setting. Our pictures turned out beautifully! If you're looking for a venue that will think of everything, Hawthorne House is definitely the place.

Hawthorne House was everything we could have ever dreamed of and so much more! This venue and location holds a special place in my heart as I grew up on the same street many years ago and I always said I would get married there. Irene, Della and the entire staff are truly amazing! They were extremely organized and our wedding day was the happiest, most calming & stress free day we have ever experienced. Hawthorne House has everything! The charm, the chapel & venue... Makes it wonderful to have it all in the same location so you & your guests don't have to travel after the ceremony. After the ceremony, a simple walk across the bridge up to your reception is most ideal for any bride, groom & guests. I relive our wedding day every day and we're extremely satisfied with everything Hawthorne House stands for! Simply breathtaking!

Not only is Hawthorne House as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures, but everyone we worked with was fantastic! They make sure every detail is perfect on your special day and you can trust them to provide the quality of service that you need when planning a big event. Della and Adonna were great about answering any questions we had and helped make things as stress-free as possible. The food was excellent at our wedding reception and the service and care given throughout the day was the best. They went above and beyond my expectations. Every detail was perfect and they were delightful to work with. I can't recommend Hawthorne House enough! They made my dream of a fairytale-like wedding come true!

The Hawthorne House went above and BEYOND for my wedding day. This was the only venue my fiancé and I looked at, because it was exactly what we wanted. It helps to work with a staff that has been there for a VERY long time, and they are all so passionate at what they do. From day one Della helped us through every step, and gave us exactly what we were wanting. She answered all of my questions, and assured me that our day would be perfect. Irene and her kitchen staff cook such amazing food, that they made it hard to choose! On our wedding day, all 140 people were served HOT delicious food and we received SO many compliments on the professionalism of the staff at dinner. I literally CANNOT imagine my wedding day without Adonna (the wedding coordinator). She took care of everything and then some on my wedding day. She coordinated with vendors, and made me feel relaxed. Even when my shoe broke 15 minutes before my ceremony, she helped me realize that everything is perfect :) I would get married over and over at this venue. Thank you all SO SO much.

This is a breathtaking venue. A little on the pricey side but turned out to be worth every penny! Our wedding day was perfect. Della and our wedding coordinator, Adona, were so great. The day went off flawlessly. I love that they have the option to have the ceremony inside or out and that you can decide the day of.

We had an absolutely splendid time at Hawthorne House for our daughter's July wedding. One of our guests summed it up well when they said, "the wedding venue is simply enchanting!". The entire day was amazing and everyone we worked with at Hawthorn House was gracious, professional, helpful and kind. From the initial informational session to the end of a most memorable wedding day, everything was done with the utmost of care and courtesy. Words just can't give the atmosphere of this venue justice. It lives up to it's reputation of being the best! The food was warm and absolutely delicious, served by a pleasant and efficient staff. The Chef even took time to personally greet the bride and groom which was special!
Additional vendors we chose complimented the venue and worked especially well with the staff at Hawthorn House. The first and best choice we made with the start of the wedding plans was to choose this venue, Hawthorn House, the perfect place to start a lifetime of marital love for our daughter and her husband!

From the moment my daughter chose the Hawthorne House, we felt as if everything was well under control. Bella took care of the initial paperwork, and then Adonna came to the rescue when the wedding cake was ruined on the way to the wedding! Hawthorne House went above and beyond for my wedding! The entire staff was amazing. Della did such an amazing job leading up to the event and helping us prepare for everything! Then Adonna was flawless on the day of the wedding. I did not have to worry about one thing. They woman and staff took care of EVERYTHING! We did a significant amount of research before deciding to have our daughter’s wedding and reception at the Hawthorne House. Our goal was probably every parents’ goal regarding wedding planning; specifically, find a quality place that will ensure a lasting memory for your daughter, her husband, family and friends. After much analysis and comparison across several venues available in the Kansas City metro area, we decided on the Hawthorne House mostly due to its resounding reputation across the local hospitality business community. A friend of ours (also a wise father with a couple weddings under his belt) gave us some valuable advice during our planning process – over the years the memories of that special day may slowly fade but rest assured your daughter’s most vivid memories will be framed against the venue backdrop. Our advice? Go first class, go with Hawthorne House and you’ll never regret it.

We had an amazing time at our wedding and reception at Hawthorne House! The staff was all extremely helpful during the planning process! We met with Irene at our initial visit, and she was absolutely wonderful! She clearly takes a lot of pride in her business! Della helped us throughout the planning process! She always very promptly answered our emails and phone calls! Michelle was our coordinator for the rehearsal and wedding! She helped make both days run smoothly! All of the staff that worked the day of the wedding were very professional and helpful! Our food was absolutely delicious! We had the Walnut Dijon Chicken, Lasagna, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans, and received many complements from our guests on our food choices! Our guests also LOVED the venue! It is absolutely gorgeous, and spending the whole day there the day of the wedding was amazing!

The Hawthorne House was the perfect venue for my wedding! The entire experience from our first meeting to wedding day was wonderful! Our school recently held our PROTOCOL event at the Hawthorne House. It was amazing! Our students and parents loved the facility. The staff members were both helpful and professional. The food was delicious. We would definitely schedule another school event with the Hawthorne House!

If there was a place to give 10 stars I would. Della and Adonna were perfect, great and any other wonderful word to describe them. For a mother of the bride, they took care of everything and more. It was like the wedding was on auto-pilot. It allowed me and the mother of the groom to just enjoy the wedding. It also helped the bride to be stress free and enjoy. The bride smiled the whole time with no worries.

I cannot say enough good things about The Hawthorne House. They are simply amazing. I had my heart set on The Hawthorne House from the very beginning and they surely did not disappoint. I felt like it was worth every penny we spent.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We had a gorgeous ceremony outside, in front of the gazebo. We had probably the most perfect weather a bride could ask for, but it was such a relief to know we had a beautiful chapel for a back-up plan in case of rained. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.

The food was delicious. The staff was amazing.

During the planning process, Della was there to answer any question I ever had. I swear towards the end I was bugging her at least once a week about something, but she was also so helpful and accommodating.

The night of the wedding, they took care of so much. Adonna coordinated our ceremony and reception and she did an awesome job. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. At the end of the night she had packed us dinner, cake, some extra chex mix and put that in the Limo for us. She also made sure my cell phone was in my purse and that my purse was in the limo for me.

Almost every one of my guests came up to me to tell me that our wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings they have been to, and I will give most of that credit to The Hawthorne House.

Della and Donna were very helpful and we appreciated all that they did to make this a special, memorable occassion. Food was delicious and plentiful. Bar staff was accomidating. Great grandmother has Alzheimer's and a waitress made up a special plate of food for her and cut it up into bite-sized portions just for her!!!

As soon as I saw this venue, I knew nothing would compare, so we booked quickly. It didn't disappoint. The staff were amazing and very quick to respond to my questions quickly!! Everything was perfect and everyone kept commenting on the food and how beautiful the Chapel and Reception site was. We had a lot of lighting on the tables, which turned out great with their lighting. I 100% recommend having your dream wedding here.. I know I did! The Hawthorne House was the PERFECT venue for our daughter's wedding on 11/5/11! Everyone on the staff worked to ensure that our every need was cared for and the result was a beautiful and personal wedding experience.

Having both the ceremony and the reception at one site was a plus for our many out of town guests as it eliminated the need for them to navigate from one location to another.

We spent the day there - getting ready, watching our wonderful florist set up for the reception, having beautiful wedding photographs taken, and enjoying our guests!

This truly is the BEST place for a wedding in Kansas City!

Hawthorne House is so beautiful with its hardwood floors, green landscaping, outdoor porch made for summer evenings, gazebo etc. I couldn't have been happier with the venue. The staff was great. The wedding ceremony and reception were both picture perfect.

The Hawthorne House was the most beautiful place every. We got married at the Chapel there and even though the day was over cast and extremely windy, the pictures taken there are outstanding. It was the perfect place for our wedding. And the owner Mrs. Sparks is such a wonderful lady. She was so very accomodating to us even though it was at the last minute that we found the ceremony location. i would definately use that facility again.

They were amazing to work with! Della definitely knows what she's doing and so does Donna, the coordinator. Everything went smoothly and absolutely nothing went wrong. Everyone loved the food too. We used their in house DJ, Wendy, and she was amazing as well. She played practically every song I gave her and didn't play anything I wouldn't have approved of. We also brought in some candles ourselves and they lit them all for us which I thought was great. I'm so glad we had the wedding here! Everything was beautiful.

AMAZING VENUE!!!! The employees were so nice, the food was fantastic, and the venue itself is so beautiful!!! My husband and I fell in love with the Hawthorne House upon visiting the site. We booked our wedding date on our first appointment and did not see any other venues. All of the Staff at the Hawthorne House was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The food is wonderful! Our wedding was amazing and we are still receiving compliments from guest who attended the wedding about how beautiful the chapel and reception area was. When we first toured The Hawthorne House, I immediatly fell in love. The property is truly stunning. I loved everything about it - the mirrored dressing rooms, the classic chapel, the georgous reception hall, the scenic trees, the white porch! This place is like a set for a wedding catalogue! And Della and Adonna were so helpful. My mom and I must have called them with questions a couple dozen times and they were always so accommodating. Adonna was my coordinator and she was a pleasure to work with! She made sure everything ran smoothly on our day. The staff was professional and the food was outstanding!! We received so many compliments on our dinner. I highly recommend the turkey! If you're considering The Hawthorne House, go and see it in person. The property is truly a dream wedding venue!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the Hawthorne House and I would definitely recommend it to future brides in the KC area. It is truly a beautiful venue with countless opportunities for gorgeous photos. The staff was great, especially Della and our day-of coordinator, Adonna. They made sure every part of our special day ran smoothly. Everyone always says "Don't sweat the small stuff, inevitably something will go wrong with your wedding," but with the Hawthorne House I can honestly say our wedding couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you Hawthorne House!!!

We had our ceremony at a church and just our reception at Hawthorne House. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very helpful, always prompt to answer our emails or return our phone calls, and very friendly, too. It was also nice to have a venue that takes care of the food and drinks instead of having to deal with a separate vendor.

I had my August 31st 2014 chapel ceremony and wedding here. Absolutely love everything about this place. Della ans everyone here are very friendly. The food is absolutely fantastic! Everyone loved thr place. Only complaint from guest were when speeches were being made you could hear loud loises from the back that sounded like dishes banging around when they were being washed. Other than that it was very beautiful and I wouldnt of changed my mind of having it there. Pricey but if your wanting elegant classy the food and the venue is worth every penny. Thanks to everyone that was so great!

The Hawthorne House is absolutely beautiful and the food they offer through their in-house catering is amazing! Our guests raved about the location and the food and we still have people talking about the Hawthorne House and our menu 3 weeks after the wedding. We had our service in the chapel and our reception in the Emerson Room. The staff was wonderful to work with and were very nice people. Both my fiance and I were living out of town while planning the wedding, so we had to rely on communicating with our vendors through phone, email, and our parents. The staff made the long-distance planning very easy.

I could not have chosen a better place to have my wedding reception. Della was a pleasure to work with in dealing with all of the details until the day of the wedding. Adonna made the evening run smooth and care free. The food was amazing, my guests said the best reception food they have ever had!!

I told my husband we will get married again next year just to use this venue again!!

The Hawthorne House is an all-inclusive venue, which in the grand scheme of things was wonderful and cut down on so many outside vendors. Some may consider it pricey, but you truly get what you pay for and more. The food was amazing, the quality of service of wonderful and I am so happy we selected them as our venue. It was beautiful.

Hawthorn House is a pretty location for a summer wedding. The gazebo, lawn and porch were clean and pretty.
Appetizers and dinner were delicious, drinks and wine prompt.
Office staff, onsite coordinator and servers were all professional and helpful.
Upstairs dressing rooms for bride, groom and attendants were comfortable and spacious enough to accommodate hair and make up for 6.
Alternate venue for ceremony in case of rain was an onsite Chapel.

The Hawthorne House is a gorgeous site. The staff was wonderful to work with and really helpful. It is a bit pricey and I didn't like that I had to pay the bar price for anyone over the age of 12 (12 and under get kids meals). I think that policy should be changed.

The Hawthorne House was a wonderful choice for our venue. The setup was perfect and they took away a lot of the little worries I had about the reception. I liked that a DJ and the catering services were included in the fee and they also took the responsibility of setting all the tables and gift table, etc. The grounds were beautiful and we were able to spend the entire day at the Hawthorne House getting ready and taking pictures. It was nice to not be under a time crunch. They have adorable rooms for the wedding party to get ready in. The women that I worked with to set everything up were so kind and very attentive to what I thought was important. They were also very timely and organized with the billing, menu setup, etc.

There were only a few things that I didn't like about the Hawthorne House, and in degree of importance, they were very minuscule. We were unable to bring alcohol on the premises and had to purchase the alcohol through the Hawthorne House. The only reason I didn't appreciate this was because we really wanted to pick out the wines and be able to take home the unused alcohol. We also were not able to take home the leftovers of the food served. Lastly, it was somewhat difficult to taste test the options on the menu for our dinner. We were only able to taste test an item that had been chosen by another bride. So, on the day of that person's wedding, we had to drive up there and get a carry out box of the food. There were some items on the menu that we really wanted to try and were unable to because no other couple had chosen it for their wedding.

Having the ceremony and reception at one site was invaluble! I also loved having the coordinator who took care of everything on my wedding day so I didn't have to! It was so wonderful that my mom and I could enjoy the day and not have to run around making sure everything was in order and everyone was where they should be. The food was wonderful, the music was just what I wanted (and requested), and everyone danced and had a great time.

The Hawthorne House is absolutely beautiful! The porch is perfect to still get great pictures even if it's a little rainy! It's also wonderful to not have to worry about coordinating food and alcohol! It's all right there and taken care of for a stress free day!

Our wedding coordinator was awesome. They don't like it when you want to make changes to catering- even weeks in advance. Overall, a great experience. Beautiful and unique.

The Hawthorne House provided a beautiful place for our ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held outside and was just stunning! The inside reception in the Emerson room was more perfect than I ever could have imagined. The DJ they provided (Steven Tinsley) was amazing. The wedding coordinator they provided was also wonderful. She remained calm and clear head, and kept the day running smoothly. The food was also excellent!! The day was perfect. The place is quite pricey, but I would say it was worth the money in the end. As far as flexibility goes, they have a lot of strict rules, so that was an area that was a bit more difficult. But the day was perfect thanks very much to them!

I would recommend pricing out how much you think you'll spend before securing this venue and keep in mind that they will not budge on their very high food and alcohol prices, regardless of the volume you achieve. Very beautiful venue, and great staff - just extremely expensive and rigid on pricing.

Horrible experience with re-scheduling due to COVID

We scheduled my daughter's wedding at HH for 6/6/20. We paid the $7,000 venue fee upfront. Because of COVID, the wedding could not be held on that date. HH told us that per our contract we could re-schedule within the calendar year so we re-scheduled for 8/21/20. As that date grew closer we felt uncomfortable holding a large event on that date due to the virus. HH would only allow us to re-schedule within 2020 without paying a new venue fee. We wanted to re-schedule farther out than that. We could schedule in January - April 2021 by paying 50% of a new venue fee and after that, it would be a new venue fee in full.

After going back and forth with HH our options were these:
1. Hold the wedding prior to 3/31/21.
2. Schedule farther out and pay a new venue fee, after we had already paid a venue fee of $7,000.
3. Go to a different venue and forfeit our $7,000 venue fee.

We opted to go with a different venue for the wedding, which is happening later in 2021, and Hawthorne House kept our full $7,000 despite the fact we weren't holding a wedding at their venue.

Please be sure you ask the venues you're considering what their re-schedule policy is. That's true in general of course, but especially so in these times. We had no idea we would be rescheduling the wedding once, let alone twice.

Incidentally, our new venue did not require the full venue fee upfront. All of the other venues we toured the second time around had much more forgiving policies than HH during this pandemic. And all of our other vendors, without exception, worked with us. Even our caterer who is not approved at our new venue.

We are not difficult people and would have loved to have held the wedding at Hawthorne House, but we couldn't stomach staying there once we knew we were going to have to pay a second venue fee.
