Perfect Vows

My wife and I wanted to renew our vows on Oahu. I was nervous about planning the event from 4,000 miles away. Yet when I first talked with Kahu, she put my mind at ease. Kahu is very professional, understanding and a great communicator. We talked for 1.5 hours and she made it a point to get to know me, my wife, our kids and our story. She made great suggestions and told me exactly what to do so that the ceremony would go off without a hitch. The ceremony itself was in an amazing location (Makapuu) and Kahu did a fantastic job. She is sweet, spiritual and included my daughters in the ceremony. I cannot imagine using anyone else and Kahu gave us an experience we will never forget. I now consider her a friend.

Exactly what we wanted

I've been meaning to write this review to write this review for far too long. Kahu Pomai married us right before the pandemic in February and made our dreams come true. She made us feel so grounded and loved at the same time. We couldn't have imagined a more magical ceremony and Kahu. Her photographer took the most beautiful photos too. All in all it was beyond perfect. Kahu Pomai is the cream of the crop!!!

Look no further Kahu Pomaika’i your answer

When my husband and i decided to elope, we were aware that we were gonna get married by a stranger. However, we were looking for a stranger that would care about our special day as much as we did. I did research, called several other vendors and they all gave me the vibe that it was just business for them. Literally my conversations with them didn’t last more than 5 min. Until I found Kahu Pomaika’i, the first time we talked, we were in the phone for over and hour, we got to know things about her and her family and she got know us. At the end of the phone call, it felt like we have known each other for years. Then we knew she was the right person. She truly cared about us and made sure our day extra special. There are no words to describe how amazing our ceremony was. We feel so blessed, lucky and grateful to have had her preside our ceremony over. Not to mention, the great choice she made with our photographer Debbie. She was awesome to work with and we can’t wait to see the pictures. Anyway, thank you foreverzzzz Kahu Pomaika’i !!!

Thank you for making it special!

Kahu Pomaikai was a real treat to have at our wedding. She grounded both my husband and I before the ceremony; held our hands, breathed with us and gave us words of encouragement. We were both super nervous. During the ceremony, her words brought me to tears and my husband and I felt more connected as each moment passed. I knew I made the right decision with Kahu. I wanted a very special wedding and her beautiful, unique, spiritual ceremony fit in perfectly with my vision.

Too Good to Be True!

We knew we were in good hands from the very first time we spoke to Kahu. She made us feel so special and loved and I was stunned by her ceremony! My husband wanted to go with someone more traditional, but I'm so glad I didn't listen! My family had never been to a wedding so different and spiritual before. It was a nice change to anything we've seen before with our other family members ceremonies. At the end my in-laws even complemented me on my choice of officiant! Mahalo Kahu!

A spiritual Hawaiian experience

I've been meaning to write this review for months, but our wedding ceremony blew us away! We loved the ho'oponopono and felt so spiritually light afterwards. Our guests commented about how much they loved the Hawaiian ceremony too. We plan to make a return trip to the islands to have kahu renew our vows when the time comes!

A great wedding

The most magical day

Our wedding was absolutely perfect! I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ceremony. Makapu’u beach was the most beautiful beach I have ever been, too. Kahu was amazing to work with. She is so personable. She made our wedding easy, and stress free.

Perfect Ceremony on Oahu

Absolute perfection in every way. If you get married on Oahu she is the best of the best! We did so much research into who we should have marry us. When we found Kahu Pomaikai there was no question she was who we wanted. Her communication with us and passion for what she does was amazing. She is a true blessing for any couple and cares very much about every detail. It was a rainy day when we arrived from New York for our private ceremony on the beach at Turtle Bay. Our ceremony could not have been more perfect for us. It was exactly what we wanted. Amazingly, the rain stopped when we started the ceremony and picked up after photos. It didn't matter what the weather was because we knew it was still perfect. I do believe that her prayers helped it to stop for us. She is a kind caring person and we are so glad to have had her marry us. It was beautiful, everything she incorporates for you into the traditional Hawaiian ceremony is a memory that you will have forever. We can't wait to come back in five years and see her again to renew our vows :) -Tammy & Tony - New York State.

Goosebumps!

Getting married by Kahu Pomaikai was more special than I could've imagined. She helped my husband and I plan everything from my beautiful wedding bouquet to the best videographer. She is filled with love and her light shines so bright. Our family is in love with her and we are too. We are already planning our next trip for our ohana blessing on the beach with Kahu.

One Stop Shop!

I looked all over the island for a cost effective way to have a Hawaiian wedding. My husband and I wanted something small as we had no guests and only wanted photos on the day of. Some of these places wanted to charge thousands of dollars for a simple beach ceremony and I was not having it. After researching on the internet and finding Kahu, I was much more pleased with her pricing and I was able to get it done for a fraction of the cost of these other companies and hotels. I found the location myself and hired Kahu to marry us and handle the photography and it worked out great. The photos turned out amazing and we were both very pleased at how everything worked out. Thank you Kahu for making this a great experience for us!

Great family run business!

We are so grateful for Hawaiian Aloha Blessings and Kahu Pomai! Her and her sons did an amazing job at making our day that much more special. Kahu's words touched both my husband and I in a way that brought tears to our eyes. Her son's conch shell brought shivers down my spine! Was the most sensual experience of my life. She met us spur of the moment was on location at the most beautiful beach in Hawaii! The whole reception was broadcasted on Facebook live so our friends and family could live stream the ceremony! STOP! No Need to continue searching. Hawaiian Aloha Blessings is the BEST in town. I had done lots of online research from Miami, FL and can't stress how difficult it was to find someone that would be accommodating and willing to chat over the phone as easily as Renee Pomaika'i was. Our initial conversation was a little over an hour. We discussed everything from wedding plans to everyday personal stuff. It was a true getting to know you intro which I think is important because you want to feel some sort of connection with an officiant that will be performing this beautiful ceremony for you and your partner. Our communication was constant via e-mail which was very easy and helpful especially when dealing with beach permits and so on. Once our special day arrived we met 30 minutes prior to the ceremony and we chatted some more and ran through step by step of our ceremony. The ceremony was truly magical, spiritual and amazingly beautiful. We highly recommend Hawaiian Aloha Blessings to everyone looking for an amazing Hawaiian wedding. Mahalo nui loa

Having Kahu Pomaikai as our minister was the BEST decision we made! She is so warm, calming and funny! All of our guests loved her and we all agreed it was the best wedding ever. I was pretty nervous that day but the Kahu held my hands and breathed with me until I felt better. Every time I look at our wedding photos I get the chills! Choosing Kahu Pomaika'i to be our officiant was the best decision we could have made. Getting married by Kahu Pomaika'i was a joyful and smooth process. When we started our search for someone to marry us in Honolulu we weren't exactly sure where to begin. We knew we wanted to get married in Hawaii but we didn't know where and by whom. Making the journey from Australia was a long one but it was well worth it. We feel so fortunate and blessed to have found Pomaika'i online. From the moment we spoke to her on the phone we felt comfortable and knew we found the right person. She made everything so easy for us. The day of our ceremony was magical and I can't imagine it being any better than it was. We loved the hoponopono and felt a release when Kahu blessed us. Getting married by Kahu Pomaika'i was truly incredible! Our ceremony was so beautiful and spiritual, I couldn't have asked for more. All of the wedding ceremonies I have attended in the past where kind of boring, quite honestly! Ours was intimate, heartfelt and magical. We held our ceremony near the Kahala Hotel on the beach and it was perfect. During the ceremony Kahu pointed out an Iwa bird circling above. Truly magical! Kahu Pomaika'i made our ceremony feel like a spiritual piece of heaven. It's hard to put it into words… I know it sounds cheesy! She was calm, relaxed, fun, personal, engaging, and deeply centered/grounded.
She included special memories and personal references in the ceremony, and grounded us into the moment before even walking down the aisle. Our guests were different ages and traveled from all over the world.
Pomaika'i delighted everyone from the most conservative to the most liberal... and we truly couldn't have asked for a better officiant. Her reviews are not hype, she is the real deal.

It seemed like it was going to be a struggle to plan a destination wedding and to find an officiant we could connect with on a deeper level. It was not the case at all! As soon as we had emailed Kahu Pomaika'i it was such a lovely moment, we couldn't have thought of anyone better to have united us on our day. When my husband and I decided to get married in Hawaii we were not sure how to get started. After searching online, we quickly found Kahu Pomaika'i. We filled out the questionnaire right away and received an email from her the very next day. We spoke on the phone and arranged the various details including the conch shell blower and ukulele musician and Kahu made it such an easy process. The day of our ceremony was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our ceremony was so intimate and lovely, it was everything we had hoped for and more. We truly felt blessed and we plan on returning to have Kahu renew our vows. Our small wedding consisted of just my husbands parents and my parents. Nothing big, just a cute little ceremony on a green grass lawn overlooking the ocean. However, previously to my wedding I had never heard of big ministers that perform such intimate ceremonies. Kahu Pomaika'i explained to us that these types of ceremonies were her favorite and it showed. The words were heartfelt, the blessings were real and felt amazing and overall, we had a ceremony that was quiet and beautiful and perfect.

It has been over 2 months since my vow renewal and I think that I have waited long enough to finally do this review! My husband and I have been married for 15 awesome years and for our 15th wedding anniversary, we decided to pack up and head to Hawaii for a few weeks and get married all over again! It was the first trip in years where it was only the two of us, as our kids are all grown up and moved out now. It was a beautiful and relaxing trip and the energy that we wanted to keep during our stay was pretty loose/calm and that translated directly to the main highlight of our island vacation; our vow renewal. Kahu Pomaika`i was very accommodating to our laid back mentality and she made it easy for us to do as little worrying and work as possible leading up to the ceremony. She guided us as to what to expect during the vow renewal, but since it was just us two and Kahu Pomaika`i, it was pretty straightforward and effortless. As for the ceremony itself, it was just what my husband and I wanted. It was calm, inviting, spiritual and very heartfelt. This part of our time in Hawaii was undoubtedly the best part of our whole stay and it set an amazing mood for the rest of our anniversary celebration. All I have to say is thank you so much. It was truly a pleasure to be married by you!

Kahu Pomaika`i was a perfect fit for our cute and intimate Hawaiian wedding. Her and her sons showed up 30 minutes before our ceremony started and grounded my fiancee and I, as we were extremely nervous about the day. In addition to that, Kahu Pomaika`i made us feel safe and comfortable and was extremely friendly and loving towards us.

Throughout the ceremony, we were blown away at how touching and meaningful the words were and we are still amazed at how different (in a great way) the ceremony was. It was unlike anything we have ever experienced and we are so glad that we picked her for our sacred and blessed wedding day.

A big thank you to Pomaika`i and her boys for all that you did for us! It was truly special!

I was in a nail-biting time crunch to find an officiant/minister after being dumped by two wedding planning services for wanting to hire a photographer separate from their packages. Well, those two companies did me a huge favor! I then found Kahu Pomaika'i and realized it was all meant to be. She is such an amazing soul! My husband and I were so thrilled with her words and ceremony. Beforehand, she was very thorough and informative, while bringing a calmness and ease from what I dealt with prior. Kahu Pokmaikai is the best. We were on vacation from Ireland and wanted a blessing which acknowledged our lives as a couple and family. Kahu Pomaikai seems to sense who you are and what's appropriate for you as well as sensing and channelling the natural environment. She bestowed the Ho'oponopono blessing and core values of living harmoniously. Her lovely son took pictures. The sky opened with cleansing rain and the Iwa bird descended. Kahu Pomaikai married my husband and I at the Sacred Healing Pools at Makapu'u Beach on Oahu and it couldn't have been more perfect! She really made my special day a day to remember, along with her son Max. It was an authentic traditional Hawaiian wedding and I felt so blessed to have her presence there, her energy and presentation was strong and brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend using Pomaikai's blessing services, we couldn't of found a better Kahu. She helped pick out the flowers for my Haku Lei, suggested the beautiful healing pools, and I felt a genuine loving presence from her! My favorite parts of the ceremony were when her son Max blew the conch shell, it was magical and vibrated through my soul, Pomaikai also did the most amazing chant and prayer like nothing I have ever heard. I feel so blessed and grateful to have had such a memorable and spiritual wedding day, thank you so much Kahu Pomaikai for making my day so special and one of a kind! So much love to you & I hope you continue to express your beautiful talent and make people just as happy as you made us.

Kahu Pomaika'i married us on a Tuesday at the Makapu'u healing pools on Oahu. We wanted a ceremony that was traditional Hawaiian and Pomaika'i was perfect. We felt a connection from the beginning and knew she was the Kahu for us. Our wedding ceremony was everything we dreamed of and more. I don't think we could have found a more perfect person to marry us.

If you want an authentic Hawaiian wedding, I highly recommend contacting Renee Kahu Pomaika’i with Hawaiian Aloha Blessings.
A few months ago, my only child returned home to Oahu to have his dream wedding at the beach. Renee went above and beyond in helping us plan for the wedding. She helped us find the best location, order the most beautiful flowers, and rehearse for an intimate ceremony.
After patiently listening to our family’s desires for my son’s dream wedding, she recommended we have the ceremony at the Healing Pools of Makapu’u Beach. This place was magical, with an amazing view of Rabbit Island in the background. This area is also kid friendly which was great because my darling granddaughter was the flower girl.
Renee helped us to pick out and order the amazing Hawaiian flowers, which included the gorgeous Haku Lei for the bride. She also coordinated a fine young man named Max that performed the Hawaiian Conch Shell Blowing, and he did a remarkable job.
My favorite part of the ceremony was when Renee Kahu Pomaika’i recited The Lord’s Prayer in Hawaiian.
This wedding, and all of Renee’s help, was truly a Hawaiian, Aloha Blessing and a dream come true for my son and our whole family. Thank you so much to Renee for all of your Aloha!

Kahu Pomaikai's weddings bring together the beauty and spirituality of the Hawaiian islands. I have been to a few weddings in the past (brother, sister, cousins) and I found that this wedding was different from the non-emotional and robotic priests that I have seen. Instead it was a lovely ceremony that brought even the men to tears. I will never forget this amazing day and I would 100% recommend this to anyone that wants a special ceremony that only this angel of a woman can provide.

Great Service

Kahu Pomaika'i performed our wedding ceremony .. It was a beautiful ceremony! I'm Hispanic and my husband is Asian. We wanted to do something different and went with a Hawaiian ceremony. Kahu Pomaika'i spoke to us for an hour and went throughly guided us through the process.. Very flexible with what we wanted. All our wedding guests loved the ceremony.. We even incorporated our own personal vows.. She also calmed both of us both because we were so nervous and anxious up there..

Kahu Pomaika'i Gongob married us June 30th,2014. Ceremony was filled with warm love and smiles. My side of the family is Japanese and doesn't speak English, however, they all understood what she meant when she was marrying us. Her smile and words touched everyone's hearts and I cannot be any happier that she married us. We also had Ukulele player who Kahu Pomaika'i refereed to us and he was amazing! We also had his auntie dance Hula for us, which was also amazing!!! I highly recommend Kahu Pomaika'i and her team!!!

My wife and I renewed our 30 year vows on May 23rd in Makaha on the beach in front of the house we had rented. After doing some research we came across Kahu Pomaika'i and after reading other reviews contacted her in January. We had a really nice conversation and were very happy she was free on May 23rd. Our 3 grown children came to Hawaii with us and Pomaika'i organized flowers and leis for all of us for the ceremony. It was around 5.00pm on a beautiful evening and was very spiritual. Pomaika'i included our children in the ceremony and it was very special. We also asked her to include an Irish blessing that we gave her and she did so without hesitation. We all chatted for a bit after the ceremony, there was no rush. We feel that we will remain friends with Pomaika'i . She is a really nice person and we could not have been happier with the renewal of our vows.

My husband and I just married in Hawaii this past New Year's Eve 2013. We made our wedding plans in quite a hurry and we were in need of someone who could handle making arrangements in a short timespan along with providing some comfort during a joyful but still tumultuous occasion.

Kahu Pomaika`i delivered and then some. We wanted a spiritual but nonreligious ceremony that also represented the traditions of Hawai'i and it was intimate, memorable and fully appreciative of the uniqueness of our union. Our ceremony was at Waialae Beach Park just east of Honolulu based on Pomaika'i advice and it was a breathtaking location. Her son and photographer, Po, did an amazing job with the pictures and everyone has been raving about them since our return a couple of days ago.

I told her personally and wanted the people who read this review to know that during our ceremony she demonstrated high skill with respect to nurturing interpersonal bonds through ceremony and through the strength and genuineness of her person as a Kahu.

She has our continuing gratitude for playing an essential role in one of the first and most important events of our new family.

Kahu has the energy of the angels. She is warm, loving, and so very spiritual. She officiated the wedding of our dear friends Gayle and Kate and her words and blessings were spot on. I feel fortunate to have randomly found Kahu Pomaika'i via a google search, and after having a beautiful ceremony a few days ago I truly feel like finding her was meant to be.
My husband and I decided to renew our vows while celebrating our anniversary in Hawaii. We wanted a "backyard" ceremony for just the two of us and we wanted it to be very calm, quiet and beautiful, with the focus being on our marriage and the love that we feel for each other. In order to have this I knew that we would need the right person at the helm and from the minute I found the Hawaiian Aloha Blessings site I new I had found this person.
Within a day of my filling out the questionnaire on her site with our information, Pomai reached out to me letting me know that she loved the idea of our quiet backyard ceremony, and we planned to speak about it in more detail. We chatted for over an hour about many things in addition to the flow of our vow renewal ceremony. She explained a lot about customs and values that she as a kahu and as a hawaiian holds dear and walked me through what she was going to do during our ceremony to incorporate these values and customs. I learned a lot during our talk and was immediately very comfortable with the idea of her guiding us through everything on our vow renewal day. Our ceremony was perfect. I don't want to go into exact details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but honestly it was exactly what we were hoping for and more. She said that most beautiful things to us about our marriage. Somehow she managed to incorporate so much of "us" and our unique love story into her words and also echoed all of the wonderful values that she had taught me about when we spoke on the phone. Among other very special moments, she blessed us, our rings, our pasts, our present and our future, and hearing the Our Father in Hawaiian was just beautiful. We both teared up, and my husband is like a caveman and never cries. It was that beautiful. :)

Selecting Kahu Renee Pomaii'kai to marry us was the best decision of our whole wedding planning! Kahu Pomaiikai has so much love and such positive energy surrounding her. We are just so happy to spend time with her, and our ceremony conducted by her was so special and magical. She is such a loving person and we felt the instant connection with her. All our guests had complimented that our wedding ceremony was the best one they have ever attended to, so refreshing and loving. We had the BEST wedding ceremony ever!!!!!! Kahu Pomaika`i was excellent to work with and great to talk to. When we first met for the first time my fiance at the time and I could feel and sense the positive connection. At this point, we both knew she would be the one to stand next to us on our wedding.

Kahu Pomaika`i is really spiritual, full of positive energy and connected to special powers in Hawaii. Just talking to her we wanted to be more connected to the Hawaiian spirits and culture we too Ho'oponopono class which was excellent and educational. Talking about special power, my fiance and her mom also did the lomilomi with her. Kahu Pomaika`i was able to re-align my mother-in-law's stomach where she felt no more pain.

We had a such a memorable experience, she is part of our family now. We highly recommend her for any of her services listed on her web site.

I believe we were blessed to have chosen Kahu Pomaika'i to perform our wedding ceremony. We were married in Waikiki in July 13 but chose Kahu some 14 months before. When we were looking for an officiate it just felt right to choose her and I am so happy we did. Co-ordinating the wedding from Australia posed a few issues but I can say that everything we did with Kahu Pomaika'i went absolutely perfectly. The ceremony was just beautiful and the comments from our 30 guests flown in from Australia were very complimentary, they felt it was such an exciting ceremony but filled with peace and very suited to myself and my new husband! From the moment that we spoke to Kahu Pomaika`i on the phone, we knew that we had made the right choice for our marriage ceremony! Kahu Pomaika`i really wanted to get to know us well in order to prepare a ceremony that would be perfectly suited to us! The service that she provided always had a personal touch that is very rare. Kahu Pomaka'i officiated a wonderful ceremony for my daughter's wedding. Her calm demeanor and her graceful beauty created a magical time during the ceremony. Her words of advice for the couple were given with such caring that one could not help but embrace what was being said.
We had a number of guests from the East Coast and they were so moved by Kahu and felt it was the most meaningful wedding ceremony they had attended. Those from Hawaii who had been to other wedding ceremonies presided over by a Kahu felt she was the best they had seen.
Wonderful, cherised memories were created because of Kahu Pomaika'i.

Kahu Pomaika'i is wonderful. Reading and having Kahu speak about her ceremonies do them no justice. Kahu Pomaika'i's warmth and welcoming nature is not only infectious but calming as well. Kahu's ceremony was absolutely magical. There were times during our ceremony where the wind started blowing causing the strings of hanging flowers to waft so ever gently. I swear it was Kahu's doing. After the ceremony we had many guests tell us they loved the ceremony Kahu performed; praising her prayers and speech. We are very happy in our choice of officiant. I would recommend Kahu Pomaika'i to anyone. She definitely makes your special day feel that much more special.

We were truly blessed to have Kahu Pomakai'i perform our wedding ceremony! Her energy is calm and loving and that came through in our ceremony.
We were able to customize every aspect to fit exactly what we had envisioned our ceremony to be. For us we wanted some traditional aspects but also wanted to include Hawaiian traditions as well. And with Kahu Pomakai's suggestions,the outcome was perfect!

Kahu Renee is a wonderful, personable, and special minister to have as an officiant. We were coming into our wedding without knowing where or what time to get married and she really helped by guiding us through to the day of our wedding, finding a location and time of day, from forming the wedding itself. We cannot express how amazing our ceremony was in Hau'ula mostly because of Kahu and her presence. The day before the wedding, it had been pouring rain, and although we knew that either way, rain or shine, we would've been happy just to be getting married, we were blessed with an amazing day, and believe this was brought on by the positive energy from family, friends, and Kahu.
Kahu has a wonderful spirit that permeates through every part of the ceremony. She took the time to bless all of our leis, was professional in all she did, recommended an amazing group of musicians to play for our ceremony and wedding (even did hula). It was truly one of the best days of our lives. The only thing I wish was that she and her sons could have stayed for the reception!!

In planning my destination wedding in Hawaii, I wanted to find an officiant who was not only warm and friendly, but also knew/understood the traditions and spirit of Hawaii. I came across Kahu Renee Pomaika'i and was so thrilled I found her! From the very beginning she was extremely responsive and answered all of our questions. We loved working with Kahu Pomaika'i. From the moment we met her at the Bridal Expo a year before our wedding, there was something special about her. She has this calming and very pleasant aura about her. She invited us to a ho'oponopono that summer and we just knew we wanted her to give us our blessing for our same-sex ceremony. Kahu Pomaika'i was helpful, patient and most of all, so kind to us and our family. Planning my wedding from nearly 5,000 miles and 6 time zones away could have been difficult, but Renee was very flexible with her availability over the phone (email was not the fastest method of contact) and walked us through each step of the process. We chose her "Royal Ilima" Hawaiian wedding package with a ukelele musician and added a Pu (conch) blower (who was also her son). We only first met in person at the ceremony, she set up everything on the beach and the whole wedding went very smoothly! The traditional ceremony was so beautiful; our parents were there with us, and we all felt very blessed to have Kahu Pomaika'i perform our wedding. We hope to be back for an anniversary - perhaps a vow renewal will be in the future for us!

This is more like a 4.9 star review. The only reason we are not giving 5 stars is because of the poor responsiveness to our emails and phone calls leading up to our wedding ceremony. Everybody in attendance agreed that the ceremony was phenomenal. Also, when we did have a chance to have a phone consultation with Kahu Pomaika`i, she was very patient and genuinely invested in giving us the ceremony that we wanted.
