I had so many compliments on the food! Everyone loved it so much. Phil was probably the most laid back vendor we hired. We never had to worry about anything. He even packed all our leftovers in boxes for us. You will not regret hiring him for your wedding day! -

Phil was GREAT! He returns calls very promptly, and is all around an amazing person to work with. We had a few hiccups day-off, and Phil swooped in and went above and beyond to help us! -

Phil is AMAZING. (I think he needs to open his own restaurant) We live 1.5 hours away from the venue and his company, so everything we did was by phone or email. Which of course would make any bride nervous. We never did a taste test or even met in person until the night of the wedding because it’s a 3 hour drive for me round trip.
At dinner, I remember my husband and I looking at each other with shock of how good the food was, and I good see our guests around the venue that looked the same way. Absolutely blew it out of the park with the food. 100% recommend. He even steered away from his menu to create a vegetarian option for me that was sooooo delicious.
They are affordable as well if you are looking for a budget friendly buffet option, but if at all possible, get the plated dinner!!!

The food was delicious and very affordable.
Phil did a great job with cooking everything, and eeryone loved it, we got compliments on the food all night and the next day. He also was really accommodating with any food allergies our guests had includding one we didn't know about until the week before the wedding.
Happy Chef catering is a great company you should hire for your wedding or your event! -

We went to have a private tasting and decided on the food we wanted served at our wedding, Phil was so kind and fun to be around, I knew he would do a great job! He knows what he is doing, and I wasn't worried about anything. He showed up to our venue about an hour before the ceremony to set up the food, and stayed until everyone finished eating, and packed up our leftovers before he headed out! Our food was great and everyone loved it. Highly recommend! -

User1324779 Sent on 09/11/2013We hired Phil to do the catering for our wedding reception of 50 people. I had been in contact via email and phone with Phil for many months in advance of the wedding and he promptly answered all of my question, there were many. He was extremely flexible, as we went from wanting a buffet to a sit down meal. He worked with us on the menu, including making subtractions and substitutions as well as accommodating two vegetarians.
On the day of the wedding him and his crew arrived on time and prepared everything so quietly and efficiently I barely knew they were there. My bride and I took photos after the ceremony so we were late to the meal but waiting for us were our salads, just as we had asked. The salad was sweet but not too sweet and very delicious. Phil insisted on 5 servers to bus tables and serve the food as well as fill drinks, I was disappointed as were others at the lack of drink service given the high server to guest ratio. It took us as well as a few of our guest quite some time to receive their drinks but the rest of the dinner service was delivered hot and on time. Our food was to die for and everyone we talked to about loved it. They stayed after dinner and cut and served the cake for us flawlessly. We had arranged prior to have them leave behind tea and lemonade for our guest after they were done, unfortunately they did not. This left many of my guest who did not drink alcohol with only two beverage options, water or coffee. I do not blame Phil for these missteps, as I believe he had some new hires. I fully believe he will deal with those individuals and issues such as these hopefully wont persist. Despite the small missteps overall my experience with phil was wonderful, the food was fantastic, and the price was right. I would highly recommend him for any type of event. -
User2153559 Sent on 05/29/2015The owner was enthusiastic and good to work with during our consultation in his home. We opted for Rosemary and White Wine Chicken with salad, green beans, bread and mashed potatoes. The chicken was awesome as were the sides however on the day of the wedding the food lacked seasoning and was dry. No salt or pepper was provided which was an oversight. I requested gravy in case of the dry chicken, it was provided however it didn't do much good. The owner was hard to get in touch with throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding he was rude to my husband when he asked to be reminded of our menu. When he asked the question, Phil told him abruptly "Ham and Beans" and walked away..... this was not the menu and my husband was not given a second glance. Happy Chef did provide two servers for the buffet dinner. They also offered cake cutting services for a fee of $75. However I requested that we be given two to go dinners to take back to the hotel with us....this was not done. Also, I requested to go boxes for our cake....this was not done either. We had to use a beer box provided by the venue for the left over cake. The per plate price was right at 8.50 a plate but if my budget been higher I would not go with Happy Chef again.
