The Hanover inn was absolutely incredible in every way for my wedding venue. For a reasonable price they offered absolutely everything. Nicole was the venue coordinator but essentially doubled as a wedding planner making it so that I didn’t have to hire a planner. She was quick to respond and worked with me on pricing, menu choices , decor etc. they also included a three tiered cake that was absolutely stunning and could have been in a magazine. For the day of every single staff member was so welcoming, kind and helpful. This included the valet, front desk staff, bartender, servers. Absolutely everyone was incredible and made the day go smoothly and stress free. For the food, multiple guests came up to me and said it was the best food they have ever had at an event and I definitely agree. They also cleaned up for me at the end of the night so I had nothing to worry about after our wedding. The bridal suite, ceremony room, cocktail hour area and ballroom were all beautiful. I can’t say enough good things about this establishment. Can’t wait to go back for our anniversary!

My husband and I chose the Hanover Inn for our Wedding Reception after we met and started dating at Dartmouth. We made the best decision! From the start of planning, Nicole (Hanover Inn's event/wedding planner) was on top of our timeline and worked hard to ensure all of our individual requests were met (from the beer to the use of the outdoor terrace, etc). She organized all of our separate vendors (so we didn't have to worry about a thing on the weekend of) and worked with the banquet manager, Ryan, for our day of timeline and menu. The staff at the Hanover Inn made all our guests feel at home for the weekend and they are still raving about the service, attentiveness and food. Nicole, Ryan and their team's timeline was so spot on and the night was everything and more than Nick and I ever imagined! Everything about the weekend was so special for us and our guests. Thank you so much!

Our decision to hold our wedding at the Hanover Inn was far the best decision that we made throughout the wedding process. From the day we booked, their event coordinator (Kate), worked with us in planning and coordinating every aspect. She functioned as a full wedding planner, handling arrangements and details entirely independent from the Inn’s contractual responsibilities. Kate’s involvement allowed us to sit back and enjoy the planning process and trust that she had everything under control. She was honest, straight forward, prompt, and exceptionally creative. In the week leading up to the wedding, we delivered décor etc to the Inn, and Kate worked with her team and our vendors behind the scenes to make sure that everything was perfect. We completely trusted her, and were so thankful to be able to relax and simply enjoy our wedding. The catering service at the Inn was also absolutely incredible. We met with the head chef early in the planning process, and he worked closely with us to tailor our appetizer and entrée selections to fit with our wedding theme and add a personal touch. Every item was exquisite and delicious, and like Kate, we quickly realized that the kitchen was so skilled that we were able to simply give them a bit of direction and then trust them to be creative. Beyond the details, we really appreciated how much personal interest the Hanover Inn invested into us and our families. They genuinely cared about our guests having a wonderful experience and our families fully enjoying our wedding. We were thrilled with our wedding and the entire process leading up to it, and we look forward to many visits to the Hanover Inn in the years to come.

The Hanover Inn was the perfect place to have a wedding. The Hotel recently underwent significant renovations which made the venue absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Inn!

To begin, the Inn's wedding coordinator, Kate, was amazing. It always felt like she had my (the bride's) best interests in mind. During moments of stress and various opinions flying around she was able to quickly diffuse issues and make everyone feel at ease. Kate never said "no" to anything. It became amazing how willing the Inn was to do almost anything we discussed (for a reasonable fee, of course). Kate was responsive to all our needs. She always got back to questions within a short time frame, was kind, and patient. She had every detail covered. She was at the rehearsal, considering every aspect, and at the ceremony helping to instruct everyone and make sure everything ran smoothly.

We had our ceremony in the Hayward room which is a new room from the renovation. It had exposed brick, beautiful windows and a fireplace, which we had lit for the ceremony. All of the pictures we took in this room turned out great.

We had our reception in the Ball room. I was originally worried that the room would be too big for our group (approx. 70 people) however the Inn set everything up in a way that made it feel very comfortable and "right sized".

The food was amazing and the guests couldn't stop talking about it. (We had filet of beef and mushroom ravioli). The cake was gorgeous! It was white with cascading leaves. It was something we never really discussed until the very end of the process and it exceeded my expectations!

We reserved a room block so our guests could stay at the Inn and everyone told us how great their rooms are. Many of our friends and family came up from the Boston area and everyone loved how picturesque and quaint both the town and the Inn are.

Overall - a great experience!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Hanover Inn and their wedding event coordinator, Kristin Liccardi. We used the Inn during their off season which made the rental of the facility more affordable. The food was fantastic, the decor very welcoming and beautiful. I would highly recommend using them for your wedding!

We had a wedding the summer of 2015. Kate Martel was terrific - knowledgeable, organized, accommodating and always very pleasant. It was a pleasure to work with her. We had rehearsal dinner, reception and Sunday brunch at the inn. The food was fabulous for all events, the rooms were very elegant and immaculate, and the staff was amazing. Everyone (and I mean everyone - from valets to housekeeping and everyone in between) were all so responsive, genuinely interested in providing good service and unbelievably pleasant. Each and every employee was a gem. The Hanover Inn has a great product and an outstanding staff to deliver it.

We were thrilled! This wedding had many moving parts and The Hanover Inn handled it beautifully. Kate Martel was our planning partner extraordinaire. She was comfortable laughing with our family during the food and wine tasting, discussing flowers, laying out floor plans, and reviewing contract pricing in detail. By the wedding day, we were so confident in Kate that we simply relaxed and enjoyed every aspect of the celebration. She was straightforward and communicated promptly. Outside vendors commented that their needs were well met. Cocktails on the wedding day and Brunch the next day were in the Hayward Room, a lovely space with granite fireplace and big windows. Dinner and Dancing were in the Ballroom which also serves as conference space and can look somewhat austere. Kate and Summersweet Floral helped us achieve a simple, elegant look. We loved it! Lighting options are adequate but limited, so wax LED candles gave the room a warm glow. All event spaces photographed well. Work with the Inn to plan space for formal photographs ahead of time. Guests were pleased with the wedding’s layout, flow, and “feel”; they enjoyed their hotel rooms; and they met up in Pine, the hotel restaurant and bar. Guests raved about the food! Serving great food to 215 is no small accomplishment. Wait staff and bartenders were good humored, efficient, and very attendant to our guests. The staff coped graciously with the “exuberance” that 20-somethings bring to a wedding weekend. The Front Desk earned great approval, with guests noting how much staff smiled and that "they couldn't do enough for us". Valets (again, smiling) helped guests arrive and depart in all kinds of challenging weather. Room Service was pleasant and helpful. The Inn was immaculate. One guest said that she and her family felt like they were dropped into a fairy-tale weekend, where everything was just right, from walks on Main Street to the ceremony at Rollins Chapel to the wedding headquarters at The Hanover Inn.

We held our wedding reception at the Hanover Inn and could not have been more pleased! The day was beyond anything we had dreamed of and it was in a huge part due to the Inn's superb service and their invaluable new event coordinator Kate Martel! The food was delicious, the cake was beautiful and tasted even better, the guest rooms were exquisite, and the staff and management was truly a pleasure to work with! They took all of the stress and worry out of the planning process and the big day, and made sure everything went smoothly. The fact that we used the Hanover Inn for the catering & bar, cake, guest hotel, and following day breakfast made everything incredibly easy for us and they executed it all perfectly and with added extra touches that really made the event special!

The Upper Valley is a relatively small area, and we looked at many of the options for our wedding location before we chose the Inn. While it is on the expensive side in comparison with some of the other venues, the services the Hanover Inn delivers surpass the difference in price. After our event I could not imagine having it anywhere else!

I have been to two weddings at the Inn (my own and a friends) and as a bride and a guest I was amazed and impressed by both! I would highly recommend the Hanover Inn for future brides and anyone seeking a venue for a special event!

My fiancé and I both attended Dartmouth College, so the Hanover Inn was the easiest choice for our reception venue.

Since the venue has an ideal location, I expected the food and/or service to lag but I was pleasantly surprised.

The venue takes care of all of the logistics seamlessly, the food was delicious and they include the cake in their package (which was also delicious, and I never usually eat the cake)!

Ellen Harp was our event coordinator and she was extremely responsive before the wedding and attentive during it.

The chef worked with us to design a menu that matched our "fancy comfort food" vision and it was delicious.

The cocktail hour on the Terrace was beautiful and I highly recommend paying the extra $1000 to reserve the entire terrace for the night, our guests really spread out during the cocktail hour and enjoyed being able to sit at tables.

The Hanover alcohol policy is very strict so the night cannot exceed 5 hours of drinking and the bar closes 30 minutes before the event ends. They are not flexible on this point and they monitor the "drunkenness" of all guests and reserve the right to refuse to serve any guest. Just a note though: we have a rowdy bunch of frat-basement friends all only 4 years out of college and no one was cut-off.

I would highly recommend the Hanover Inn, the location can't be beat and the food and service are excellent.

The Hanover Inn went above-and-beyond to create a magical wedding weekend. Our guests raved about their rooms, the upkeep of the Inn, the quality of food, and the exceptional professionalism and pleasantry of all staff.

The Inn offered our guests reduced room rates, and our guests made the most of the opportunity, with nearly all of our guests staying two nights at the Inn. They relaxed on the patio facing the Dartmouth green, sipped cocktails at Pine, and used the Inn as a launching pad to explore the Upper Valley.

For our wedding, we held our ceremony offsite (at Dartmouth’s organic farm) and then headed to the Hayward Room (and its lovely patio) for cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing in the Ballroom. The food was delicious, and the staff made sure the bride and groom were well fed :)

The Hanover Inn's Kate Martel partnered with us to plan the event. Kate is professional but also laid-back and approachable, which was refreshing. She recommended a nearby florist/gardener, communicated with our band regarding setup, and introduced us to the Inn’s chef who assured us of his local sourcing. Kate accommodated many of our quirks, like our requests for pie and a favorite local beer and our decision to forego many wedding traditions.

The pricing was a stretch for us, and we deviated from some recommendations for the sake of affordability. For example, we found a killer and super fun yet affordable band based out of VT—The Wyld Nightz—and decided to not schedule transportation for our guests. Feel free to make such decisions!

We love the Inn's distinct Upper Valley vibe, and that most couples that marry here have a connection to Hanover. So while we recommend the Inn for all looking for an exceptional wedding experience, maybe don't tell too many so we can keep it as special as it is ;)

We've only gotten married once, and so we're not experts on wedding planning, but if given a second opportunity to do business with the Hanover Inn as a venue again, we would. We did have some spotty moments of communication in the months leading up to the wedding which caused my wife a bit of stress, but the end result was worth all of the hassle. We cannot say enough about the wait staff. The food was incredible, and they have lots of experience with catering big events. There's a gentleman named Ryan who we really appreciated. He helped make everything run super smooth. One of the things we enjoyed was our wedding tasting by their Executive Chef, Justin Dain. That was arguably the best food that we've tasted in our lives. I would note that like most other wedding venues, they have the potential to engineer phantom bar charges.

I chose the Hanover Inn mostly for its convenient location to Dartmouth College's Rollins Chapel, but probably would not have chosen it if other options had been available - they talked about being very flexible but weren't able to fully meet the needs of my event, and overall communication with my event coordinator was not as good as I would have liked. We were forced to go well beyond our budget, but at least the room was quite nice, the cake was amazing, and our guests enjoyed it.
