I learned about Hammersky Vineyard years before I ever met my Husband. While I was working at an elegant restaurant, one of my guests brought a bottle of their fine cab for me to uncork and taste. We talked about how they stayed in the farmhouse for the weekend and toured the Paso countryside. Later I stopped by the tasting room on a roadtrip. I was so enchanted by the natural beauty and old-world charm of the property, I decided then, I would either celebrate my 40th birthday or wedding there. Fast forward a decade...
I was engaged at 40 and had my wedding at Hammersky at 41.
We were married in the second weekend of November. All the leaves were a deep auburn and the vines hung heavy with dark purple fruit. It was the last weekend before their harvest and we got there just in time! The weather was gorgeous. Clean, clear skies shone brightly with daytime temps at the height of seventy-two degrees. When the sun set over the hill, around 4:15pm (fall time change), temps plummeted to low fifties. We rented six portable heaters (probably could have used three more) and had a large campfire with s'mores though and provided blankets and it all added to the charm.
Kim (the owner) and Stephan (my main contact) we tremendously kind and easy to work with. Each time I had a question about anything, Stephan was helpful, accommodating and sincerely joyful to speak to. When we arrived Thursday, the entire venue was clean and ready. They'd even placed gorgeous bouquets of red roses in several vases around the house and a bottle of that delicious cab plus a charcuterie board in the fridge! I mean... AMAZING service.
I truly felt like it was OUR home for the weekend. All of my family and friends were enamored with the venue and event. It is rustic but beautiful! We had ninety guests and opted to make a U-shaped table on the lawn with a wooden dance floor at the center so that we could have dinner and dancing in one place. I think it worked perfectly for guests and it really encouraged people to dance and hang late.
You definitely can't loose with this venue. Especially if you prep your guests by letting them know that the event takes place on grass and gravel and to wear comfortable shoes and to bring coats. My guests were decked out in fluffy furs and awesome turtle-neck sweater dresses. It was great.
Hammersky staff are honest and helpful and they LOVE what they do. You'll feel like family from the moment you arrive to whenever you depart! Highly recommend! It was everything I had hoped and dreamed and even more! -

The Perfect Day
Aside from a breath-taking venue, the Hammersky staff was amazing to work with. During a difficult year of COVID and rescheduling the team was so understandable, responsive and accommodating to make sure our day was special no matter the circumstances. Not to mention, the personal touches in the farmhouse to make our stay even more enjoyable. The value of this venue, and the service from the staff beats any other! -

Hammersky's rolling vineyards, massive Oak tree, 100+ yr old farmhouse and modern wooden barn make this a Magical place! Most of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. They also loved the wine ( we served Rose and Zinfandel) Melanie ( the manager) was very responsive to our needs and flexible with our requests. Don't hesitate to have your special day at this very special place ! Thanks to Doug, Melanie and crew for making our wedding so amazing and memorable! -

Weddings memories are something that last forever and I am so thankful that I will have mine to treasure at HammerSky. From the first moment we stepped on the property for our tour with Melanie we were made to felt that the weekend we had planned with our family and friends was the most important event they would host. We fell in love with the rustic but elegant charm of the vineyard. Our friends loved the wine which paired great with the food and the relaxed yet elegant charm at HammerSky. We can't wait to visit annually around our wedding anniversary and come back to stay at the Farmhouse we have grown to love. -

I can not say enough amazing things about Hammersky! First, It was so beautiful from every single angle. From the old barn house, to the vines, to the white barn, to the old oak trees, there is no bad place to take a picture. We loved every moment on property and felt like we were in a beautiful dream. We had a small wedding on the lawn followed by happy hour near the barn, a dinner in the barn, and dancing under the stars. We were able to rent the house on property for two nights (one night is included with the cost of the venue). The house was the perfect backdrop to get ready in the day of the wedding. The photos are going to be beautiful! Everyone at Hammersky was easy to get along with and the wine is absolutely delicious. We can not recommend Hammersky enough!! -
Michael Sent on 09/25/2018The HammerSky Vineyard blew me away with it's beauty and attention to detail. I felt like we were on a movie set the entire day. Everywhere I turned there was an incredibly beautiful backdrop and a friendly staff asking to fill my glass, or if I needed anything. Everyone from the music talent and servers, all the way to the actual owner went above and beyond to make sure our friends special day was something to remember. I couldn't imagine a better place to have a wedding or party!

Jana Sent on 02/15/2018An absolutely stunning venue with a perfect event layout. The farmhouse truly sets it apart. The wine is fantastic. These features could not be improved at all and were our main reasons for selecting HammerSky. The day of was exactly what we had planned and dreamed. I would book them again. There was a fair amount of miscommunication between Kim the events manager and Doug the owner. Kim would agree to one thing and then Doug would say something different. It also took a couple of months to have our deposit returned. While frustrating, we were able to work everything out.

Sarah Sent on 05/01/2022Stay away-completely unprofessional and disorganized - Refusing to pay back money they owe us
I was one of the many brides whose wedding was disrupted due to covid. When my now husband and I first chose Hammersky to be the place we would get married we could not have been happier. If covid had not happened, I hope I would not be writing this review. Unfortunately everything that happened once covid hit has left us in a terrible position and we are actually not sure where to go from here.
Like many covid brides to be, we were forced to postpone our wedding twice before finally deciding to hold a very very small event. Doing this left us with a discrepancy in our initial wedding deposit where we had to find a way to use a remainder of about 8k that we had already given to Hammersky. We agreed that a fair solution would be for us to stay at the accommodation (aka the Farmhouse) on the property (which costs about 1k per night) until we had used up our remainder.
Without going into detail, on our first planned stay the accommodation was in great disrepair and we were not able to even spend one night there.
This lead us to once again need to find a solution for the remaining money. Because Hammersky had technically broken their contract with us, we had the option to demand all the remaining money back. However, the owner told us he did not have that available and would be very strapped until the coming April when the season picked up again. He offered to pay us half in Hammersky wine and the other half would be a cash refund.
Half of 8k is almost 7 boxes of wine! We definitely had no need for this but we agreed to his offer and even gave him until May to pay us the cash refund since he had specified that he would be doing better by April. We thought this was very fair and even generous on our end. The wine shipment arrived and everything was fine until May crept closer and we had heard nothing from Hammersky or the owner about the remaining payment. The week leading up to May I reached out via email (how we had corresponded the whole time) and heard nothing back. I emailed again and called the winery to confirm that the owner’s email was still active and told it was. I was also told that they would let him know I had been trying to reach him.
Well, we have now hit May and I have still heard absolutely nothing. I am told the only available next step for my husband and I to take is to sue, but of course no one wants to do that unless absolutely necessary. Maybe I am being obtuse because it makes me so sad to have this be the memory I end up with from the place I fell in love with initially and planned for my wedding day.
If anyone has had any similar situation or incident that may be of help please let me know! To be honest, our view of Hammersky is so low at this point perhaps there is nothing to salvage anyway.
If you are a bride looking to get married here I would advice against it. I realize our story will luckily not apply to future brides since covid restrictions have lifted, but please know that I have left out so many horrid details of the lack of professionalism and complete disorganization we encountered. As beautiful as the property is, it is not worth the risk of having your big day full of chaos.
