We had a great experience working with Hamilton - highly recommend! He helped us craft an oration that was personally meaningful to both of us, getting to know us and incorporating moments that were important in our journey. Many of our guests were tearing up during the ceremony. He was flexible in coming to New Haven from New York, and timely and organized. Everything was exactly as we had hoped, and we're very grateful to Hamilton for the part he played in our special day! -

Hamilton is by far the best officiant you could hope for at your wedding!
My wife and I had the privilege of meeting Hamilton right when we first started dating. Fast forward 2 years later and we knew, without hesitation, that we wanted Hamilton to be the officiant at our wedding. We were so happy when he said yes! He immediately explained to us the process of obtaining a marriage license from the county clerk's office (during a pandemic), giving us very useful information based on his own experiences. Hamilton was very attentive throughout, making sure the ceremony will be personalized and tailored to us and our needs.
On the day of our wedding, Hamilton arrived early to discuss last minute details. We did a quick run through and tested our speaker equipment, which to our disappointment, did not work properly outdoors. I started getting nervous, but he said not to worry and that he had no problem making sure everyone heard him. He was absolutely correct about that. He was so great at projecting his voice to the crowd!
Everything from start to finish went smoothly. Hamilton made sure we didn't forget to take photographs and smile and kept us on track throughout the night with our timing. He worked closely with the maître d to help keep the flow going. Our friends and family loved him, he was so much fun and upbeat!! Definitely an energy producer.
I'll always look back and see Hamilton in our photos and remember how he made a wonderful day that much brighter.
EDIT: Wanted to update this review. We received our marriage certificate in the mail and noticed that the county clerk's office typed the date of our marriage and location incorrectly. We informed Hamilton, and before we could even say "thank you" he already took action, made calls, and followed up when the person in charge was available. We received a message from him a little before 10:00am on the Tuesday after Labor Day weekend saying he already spoke with the necessary personnel and they will correct it for us without requiring us to go back in again. I was absolutely floored. Our wedding was already over but he was still there for us 100%, and helped us resolve the matter in record time. We are extremely grateful for Hamilton. This is the kind of professionalism and kindness that sets him apart from others. -

The best celebrant in town
We would like to recommend warmly Hamilton Lao as celebrant for your wedding or elopement. Hamilton was the best choice we made for our elopement! He is really nice with a good heart. He wants you have the best event possible and he is very generous with sharing his experience about the location, the ceremony, the papers. Because of him, we had the best location, we couldn’t have dreamed of better, in Central Park. Also, he guided us for the ceremony and suggested us his speech for correction one week before the ceremony. He was on time (before us!). Very professional! He made a ceremony simple, cute, meaningful, just like we wanted. Finally, he helped us to obtain our wedding certificate quickly. Thank you so much Hamilton Lao. -

Definitely recommend!!!
Hamilton was absolutely amazing! He's down to earth, passionate and informative. We had a COVID elopement and he was up to date with all the new law changes regarding marriage licenses. We had a lot of questions and he was very responsive and provided good information. We were late to our scheduled ceremony and Hamilton was positive, kind and understanding. We wouldn't ask for anyone else to officiate our elopement! Thank you Hamilton! -

Pandemic wedding
Hamilton was very helpful in providing detailed instructions to walk us through the steps it takes to get married.
After the unexpected COVID19 pandemic occurred, he was very flexible and agreed to hold our wedding pandemic style under short notice. He was a very energetic speaker and gives great speech.
Overall we are very pleased to have him officiate us! -

Hamilton was referred to us by a family friend and now I have to gift them something because he went above and beyond what we expected. He showed up early, and since we still had to wait for the bride, Hamilton used his professional experience to help us from setting up our cameras to where the best place in the park to conduct our ceremony. Hamilton spoke loud and clear so everyone could hear and his speech was personal and heartwarming.
We're truly glad that Hamilton was part of our wedding and we will never forget him for making it even more memorable! -

I got married last December and Hamilton was my MC/Officiant. He had a good sense of humor and was very responsible. he was very easy to communicate and always tried to work with our crazy schedule. he had such vibrant energy throughout the entire event. Since majority of the guests for my wedding are Chinese, I was really worry that nobody's going to go down to the dance floor and the whole wedding's going to be super dry...etc kinda thing. Hamilton was able to get all guests attention and get all of them to dance at the dance floor.
My husband and I plus my friends are all in love with him lol. My wedding won't be the same without him. He is great! -

Organizational communication was clear and very detailed, he created beautiful and personalized vows for us and overall was very nice! On the wedding day he was on time, looked very good and delivered a beautiful speech! We highly recommend him as a wedding officiant!

Judy Sent on 07/21/2018Hamilton delivered top notch quality to our wedding by providing a professional yet personal ceremony. He tailored the oration just how we preferred and described to him. His delivery was also very passionate and I have received great compliments from y friends and family of how he hosted our wedding ceremony.
In the months that led to our wedding, Hamilton was always quick to respond and provided very helpful and detailed guidance on what we needed to do. For instance, he provided us with the links and information we needed to file our wedding license. His enthusiasm and responsiveness is any comforting and assuring to any busy bride!
On the day of the wedding, I actually forgot my application for him to sign!! He patiently waited for me to look for it, but I never found it that day. We met again after the wedding day so he could sign it for us. I am extremely thankful and appreciative of his professional services and highly recommend his service. -
