So impressed!
We recently used Hamby for our catering and bar services at our April 2025 wedding and could not have been more happy! Kara was very responsive and helpful from the initial moment I reached out and was always open to providing feedback about best options to fit our needs and budget. We made many changes to our menu throughout the planning process and she was always understanding and patient. When we did our tasting, they were open to any suggestions or wishes we had and I was impressed with how accommodating and thoughtful they were. On the day, everything was absolutely amazing- our guests raved about the food and the staff was so kind and accommodating. We are so thankful that we went with them and wish we could relive the day! Big thanks to Kara and the Hamby team!! -

Wedding Catering
Hamby did a phenomenal job with catering and the bar service for our wedding on 6/17/23! We had passed Hors d’oeuvres, a station style dinner, mini assorted sweets, and a late-night snack. The food was superb—every single thing we had was so delicious! Although we were unable to complete a tasting before our event, we felt comfortable with Hamby due to their past reviews--and you should too, knowing that they will deliver on all services. We had several guests state how it was some of the best food they'd ever had! Hamby took extra care in providing an assortment of food along with champagne to enjoy the day after our event. We are so thankful for everything Hamby did to help make our day perfect! -

Best wedding food!
If you want your wedding guests to rave that your food selection was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, then look no further than Hamby Catering! Not only were they incredibly responsive from start to finish, but as I already stated, BEST FOOD EVER!!! You can not go wrong with their southern bbq buffet, absolute crowd-pleaser!
I also want to specifically shout out Caroline, who we worked with directly to curate our event menu. We had a lot of guests that had varying dietary restrictions and food allergies and despite all of that, worked with us at length to make sure our selection of food could be safely enjoyed by all of our guests. And it was! -

I'm drooling thinking about how good the food was...
Wow! I am not kidding when I say nearly every person from our wedding (if not all of ~165 people) told us how amazing the food was. I wish I could somehow eat it every day of my life. We had the stations with the most tasty options, and guests were astonished when they found out how generous portions were given that they could eat from all stations. It was just incredible. Ryan and the Hamby team also made our tasting so fun! It was so special to us we made a shadow box with our tasting menu and champagne cork. Thank you to this team! You have to book with them!! -

The best catering for any event
Ryan with Hamby Catering was by far the best vendor to work with throughout our wedding experience! He was extremely professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We used Hamby for our engagement party, rehearsal dinner, and reception! All our guests raved at how delicious and presentable the food was for each event. I thoroughly enjoyed having our tasting to finalize the menu. The servers and chefs at the reception did an exceptional job. We could not have asked for anything more. Ryan is an excellent Hamby employee and I would use Hamby catering hands down for any event!! -

Excellent Service!
Hamby provided the catering for our wedding last month and we couldn’t recommend them any more! First (and most importantly) the food throughout the entire evening was absolutely fantastic. The catering staff was attentive and very friendly and made sure that we were not wanting for anything the entire night - my wife and I weren’t able to grab any hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour as we were taking pictures and the catering staff made sure to track us down and provide an entire assortment of food so we didn’t miss out! All-around excellent experience! -

Amazing Food!
I have had Hamby catering several times in the past and knew the food was going to be fantastic. Ryan and his team did not disappoint! All the food was delicious! We were even sent home with a goody bag of food to enjoy the next day, which is such an amazing touch. I definitely recommend Hamby for all your catering needs. -

BEST food!
We used Hamby for food and bar on the recommendation of our wedding planner and could not have been happier! The food was DIVINE and everyone commented on how delicious it was and how much they were able to eat. People even said they couldn't eat all that they were served. The wait staff was so kind and friendly. Some guests even had dance offs with a waiter. They felt like they became part of the party and family that evening. If I planned my wedding over again, I would definitely choose Hamby. Also, Caroline was a DREAM to coordinate food and bar with. Thank you for making our wedding amazing! -

Best food ever!!!
Truly divine food! The moment I walked into our cocktail hour following sunset portraits, the guests immediately began raving about the food (mini tomato pies, smoked gouda mac n cheese bites, and candied bacon deviled eggs) and the compliments only continued throughout the night as the stations opened! Not only was the food absolutely incredible, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every guest felt like a VIP and was attended to quickly! Would highly recommend Hamby, and can't wait to visit and get more of those mini tomato pies!! -

The best food and bar!
Hamby knocked the food and drinks out of the park for our wedding celebration! They were extremely kind and flexible with COVID reschedules, and stayed responsive throughout the constant changes with our plans. Caroline was super helpful with advise and feedback and took a lot of stress off our plate...so enjoyable to work with! Our guests have not stopped raving about the food! We had three stations (braised short ribs, fish and chips, and sliders) and they were all equally delicious.
The team promptly replenished food and kept stations tidy. Food aside, one of the best parts of using Hamby is that their team genuinely seemed happy to be there. Everyone had a smile on their faces and was so kind and friendly, and that made our night even more enjoyable. (Our guests noticed too! It's something you don't think of, but looking around and feeling like literally everyone is happy to be there made a difference.) 10/10 recommend having Hamby cater any event...we'll be using them again in the future! -

Best local catering service!!!
Hiring Hamby’s Catering is a MUST for any event! We hired them for our wedding reception and they did not disappoint! Caroline was amazing and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted. I was so impressed by the initial tasting with Caroline – they served us a sample of all of our courses and allowed us to make any changes to our menu that we wanted. We also requested a meal for bride & groom to eat privately before we entered the reception and they had a plate of hot food waiting for us when we arrived. This was so appreciated and such a special moment for my fiancé and I. The food was delicious! Thank you so much! -

Amazing food!
I can’t even describe how amazing all the food we had at the wedding. We enjoyed everything we picked and it was a big hit with our guest. We are still saying how good it was months after the wedding! Definitely look into what they have to offer. They made picking out food a breeze! Definitely talk to Ryan McKenzie! He was such a great person to help us with the menu! And he was great with recommending dinner options while we were down in Charleston! The pictures were from our tasting we did months earlier!-

Amazing food & service
The Hamby's catering team did an exceptional job setting up and serving amazing, delicious food at my son's wedding. Bellamy was organized, professional, creative and a pleasure to work with. We had so many compliments on the food and distinct southern flavor. And the couple really appreciated the goodies in their limo after the wedding. Everything was perfect. I can see why Hambys has such a great reputation. -

The best!
We used Hamby for our wedding on 5/31/19 at The Island House and were BEYOND pleased with their services. Ryan was super easy to work with and made the entire process both fun and incredible. Unique wedding requests, handled with ease
The Hamby Team and Caroline did an incredible job for our wedding. We had specific vision for our wedding of rotating food stations and no formal sit down dinner. While interviewing other catering companies, none of them really gave us confidence they could pull off what we were asking for except for Hamby! They delivered above and beyond our expectations. The food was so delicious and our guests raved about it all. We had them do our bar as well. There was one mishap- the bitters were not brought to the venue initially. My husband was having old fashions as the only specialty cocktail so this was a huge deal- the team was able to quickly call someone and the bitters were at the venue a half hour later. Caroline was extremely responsive throughout the process and patient with us as we changed our minds a million times about what we were thinking. She was extremely helpful throughout. I would highly recommend Hamby for any future event. -

Great food, great value
We used Hamby for our appetizers, three course plated dinner as well as their bar service. I was so happy with the food as well as with their wonderful waitstaff and bartenders! From the moment we started the wedding planning process, Hamby was a frontrunner for us. They were upfront, honest, and transparent about their proposal and helped us to select the perfect menu for our wedding! We did stations with passed hors d'oeuvres. We asked them to do a stuffed date similar to the dates on the Barsa menu and they made it to perfection! We had so many compliments on our food after the wedding. The best part is they threw in a late night snack for us which was delicious!! They were so great to work with from the tasting to the wedding! -

I wanted to complement Hamby's on the catering of my daughter's wedding on April 7. The food was so amazing and I loved your wait staff. Once they knew I was the mother of the bride, they sought me out to make sure I got to try each appetizer. They were so sweet and fun to work with. We had many compliments on how good the food was. Amazing food, incredibly helpful and friendly staff! Best prices we found for such awesome quality. Hamby specializes in traditional Southern food, but they worked with us to tailor the menu so that I would have some awesome vegan things (pickled black-eyed peas, Carolina Rice Cakes, and reeeeaalllly yummy collard greens--even the carnivores raved about it!). We also did a "Surf and Surf" station with really fresh and tasty crab cakes and scallops, and a vegan mashed potato bar with great toppings. My husband is from Texas, and they also incorporated the Texas tradition of breakfast tacos as a late night snack! Bellamy was also very professional and helpful in helping me get everything together! Can't recommend enough! -

Our experience with Hamby Catering could not have been more perfect from start to finish. Ryan McKenzie helped us create a wonderful lowcountry wedding menu including a plethora of fresh, local seafood, including scallops, crab and shrimp, as well as beef, pork, vegetables, fruits and cheeses of every description. Additionally, Ryan created the reception floor plan, the bar menu and setup, and all the rentals from Snyder's. Every detail could not have been executed more expertly during the planning stages or the reception itself, including the catering team Ryan put in place at the reception who were well-trained, personable and plentiful in number. Cheers to Ryan and Hamby Catering for helping create a fairytale wedding reception for our daughter! -

If you want a true Charleston hospitality and southern fare experience, for sure book Hamby. Delicious food, excellent service and the history and values of a family-owned company. We just loved everything that Hamby cooked up for our wedding. We received many compliments on the food and service but our favorite part was the bride and groom basket they sent home with us for after the wedding. Excellent service and flexibility, as an out-of-town couple they accommodated us for tasting times and menu planning which was much appreciated. Hamby Catering is our family staple when we have events. Their sales team, Ryan Mckenzie especially, blew us away with their professionalism, accommodating attitude, and responsiveness. They were honest with us about the needs for my 80 person wedding and always respected any of our budget concerns. The food impressed all of my guests and me, and their service throughout the night was undetectable. They kindly wrapped up individual servings of food for the groom and I to enjoy in the getaway car, which was totally unexpected. Highly recommended! -

Best wedding food ever is all I keep hearing from my friends! I picked four stations for my daughters wedding reception.
Everything was served in small dishes and ready to be picked up by guests so there was no waiting in line to serve yourself! The BISCUIT BAR was a big hit! People are still talking about it. They say "only in Charleston !!! What a great idea!" I'm so happy that Ryan M. helped me pick a fabulous menu! Thanks to all that planned, cooked and served for our event on October 29th! -

As the mother of the bride, I had very high hopes for my daughters wedding. Hamby Catering and specifically Ryan McKenzie far exceeded my hopes and expectations on every level. Ryan managed not only a fantastic catering menu but also took responsibility for all of the decor, including the tent, linens, floorplan...everything. He made planning this wedding so pleasant and was beyond organized. His attention to detail and to our "style" was exceptional. At his suggestion we opted for 4 stations preceded by passed appetizers. The bartenders and wait staff were completely professional. Our guests...most visiting Charleston for the first time..raved about the food and the service. I highly recommend working with Hamby's. You will be delighted! -

My wedding reception was outside under a beautiful white tent on family land in Mount Pleasant, SC. Hamby Catering & Events was the perfect compliment! The food was delicious and our friends are STILL talking about the Shrimp and Grits! From their set up, to the staff, to their beautiful arrangements we were very pleased with Hamby Catering & Events. They worked with us on creating the perfect menu and helped us make changes/additions until we were absolutely satisfied! They did a great job! -

Hamby Catering was absolutely wonderful! From the tasting to the actual event, everything was wonderful! My daughter was married at The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation on June 10, 2016. Hamby worked with us on customizing their menu and even working with my daughter on her food allergies by making her gluten free sweet tea glazed chicken. It was great! Our guests are still talking about how wonderful all of the food was at our event. Thank you Hamby for helping to make my daughter's dream wedding come true! -

Our experience with Hamby catering was awesome! We weren't originally planning on doing catering for a wedding but ended up being given more funds about a month prior to it, and Hamby eagerly worked with us on such short notice to do a drop off service. I corresponded with Alex and Zach who were both incredibly helpful and helped is figure out the best food options for us and our budget. The food was fantastic and they ensured that we had plenty of food for all our guests while staying within budget! Everuthing was all set up for us by the time our guests got to the reception and looked fantastic as well :) also, we had a last minute time change of our wedding due to weather and they gladly adjusted for us! I would highly recommend Hamby for any Charleston wedding or other event. -

Hamby did an amazing job for our wedding. But I would absolutely consider using them for other events in future. Ryan, who helped us coordinate our menu and other details of our event was incredibly helpful. Our tasting was so much more special then we were expecting. They had printed our menu for us, we were able to try every dish, they set up displays so that we could get an idea of how our event would look, and we were able to talk to the chef. It was great! Food was one of our biggest concerns for the day, being sure that our guests had a great culinary experience and left satisfied was really important to us. Hamby did not disappoint. I can't wait to use them again! -

Hamby was absolutely wonderful!!! Our guests are still raving about how wonderful our food was at our reception!! We had 3 stations and the staff did a fabulous job keeping up with clearing plates and cups for our 250 guest count. We thankfully had a plate made for us at our reception (my slice of steak was a PERFECT medium temperature) but they also sent us home with a basket of food! Hamby did a fabulous job listening to exactly what we wanted and they delivered above and beyond our expectations! We highly recommend Hamby for all of your catering needs! Thanks again!! -

Hamby came highly recommended, and they more than exceeded our expectations at our October 2105 wedding. Ryan, our event producer, was accommodating, responsive, and a great resource from the initial planning stages all the way through the week of our wedding. His suggestions were spot on, and on our wedding day, Hamby's and their staff did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, and we received tons of compliments on the menu and food. The biscuit bar and shrimp and grits stations were our favorites. Having worked in the hospitality industry many years ago, I cannot compliment the Hamby staff who were professional but also warm and engaging with our guests. -

Hamby came through for us when our previous caterer suddenly went out of business. Cacky took amazing care and worked very closely with us we had to change our entire menu! We could not have asked for more delicious food! From the appetizers and main course, to the mini dessert bar, Hamby delivered with such elegance! I had a certain vision in mind, and Cacky made sure that it was carried out! My fiance and I loved that the servers came out to us to offer a quick appetizer as we took post-ceremony pictures -- that was the best!! My guests enjoyed the staff that worked at each of our chef serving stations. Awesome coordinator, awesome crew! -

Hamby was the absolute best. Not only did they provide food that our guests are still raving about, but Ryan McKenzie basically stepped in as a second wedding planner. He was super professional and came up with the entire layout for our reception and coordinated all of our rentals. Additionally, we were trying to stick within a pretty tight budget, and they were able to provide every single menu item I wished for within our budget--something no other caterer we talked to was able to do. They also sent us home with a sampling of all of our food since my husband and I did not get a chance to eat at the wedding. Highly recommend working with them! -

The service combined with the abundance and quality of the food definitely justified what we spent. It was so nice to show up at the event and see that everything was ready and handled so we (the planners) could actually enjoy ourselves! There were no "surprises." You delivered what you promised. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the presentation was amazing. I was so proud that I selected Hamby's, which was strictly done by hearing of you in the community and by your cookbook! Hamby Catering provided top-notch service at my wedding at The Stony Landing House at Old Santee Canal Park. Ryan is AMAZING to work with and his knowledge in the business makes you feel at ease throughout the entire process.
The staff truly goes above and beyond and could not have provided more exceptional service and professionalism the day of the wedding. My guests are still raving about how friendly, helpful and professional everyone on the team was!
The food presentation was beautiful and Hamby is great to provide décor that matches your wedding theme. Although all of the menu choices we had were impeccable, the Shrimp and Grits station & Biscuit Bar were absolutely to die for! Hamby's Catering is top notch!! Working with Ryan and Chef John to come up with the perfect menu for my client was effortless. They were there for us throughout the whole process and gave 110%. I knew we were well taken care of and I was at ease knowing they were going to serve a tasteful and beautifully presented seated dinner for 125 guests.
Ryan, Sarah Ann and the rest of the team made sure everything was perfect on the wedding day, even to the point of making sure that every bread knife was positioned perfectly on the b&b plate. I wanted to take the time before the day gets away from me to thank you and Hamby's for a wonderful evening Saturday night. You would have no way of knowing this, but Hamby's was not my first choice. The caterer I usually use was booked up and went with Hamby's on a referral from a friend. And how lucky for me that they were booked up and I got to experience the Hamby's experience.
First, you were a pleasure to work with. Conscientious, professional and patient. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Second, Ardriana and Jay - Holy cow! They were amazing. Obviously they are professional's, but being a professional without the right combination of other traits is often not enough in all business. They were so gracious and calm and easy to work with. First time I ever got to feel like a guest at my own party!!

Hamby Catering made my Cotton Dock wedding at Boone Hall Plantation so much easier to plan! I took on the role of "wedding planner" myself to save a little money, but worked alongside Ryan every step of the way for a lot more than just food. Ryan is insanely busy, but it's because he's so knowledgeable, flexible, and detail-oriented. I initially met with him to discuss just food service, but after spending some time talking with him, I realized this could be a one-stop shop if I needed it to. Ryan ended up getting me set up with food (Hamby), chair/table/linen rentals (outsourced, but he took care of the details and set up for a nominal fee), and bar (also outsourced but stress-free for me because he took care of it). I had a budget I worked very hard to stay within and Ryan was incredibly supportive and flexible to help me stay within the budget. Our food was DELICIOUS and our guests are still raving about the quality and taste. Our rentals were set up exactly as he and I planned and I honestly couldn't tell you a single thing about the bar because I didn't have to worry about it- they took care of it all! If you want high-quality food and service for an affordable price, Hamby Catering is it! -

I interviewed 3 caterers before choosing Hamby's for our wedding rehearsal on a boat. Ryan McKenzie's honest recommendations, timely communication, and assistance with food choices ( as well as some my quirky suggestions!) put me at ease especially since I was out of town.
The food quality and presentation was spectacular and their staff quietly moved through the event replenishing ( those shrimp salad sandwiches kept disappearing), cleaning, and even packed up leftovers for the hungry groomsmen to eat later.
It was a grand slam event and Ryan made this happen - Hamby's is the best - don't miss the opportunity to use them!! -

I do not have enough good words to say about Hamby Catering and the amazing job that Monica did with our wedding. It was the most perfect day! We chose to use Hamby's day-of coordination package as well, and it was worth it! Monica was amazing and worked so hard to make our dreams come true that day. I would highly recommend her within Hamby for anyone looking for a little extra service and care. She is absolutely amazing.
The food was absolutely delicious and we had numerous people tell us that it was the best they'd had at a wedding. Our bartenders and serving staff were very helpful and friendly and always there to make sure our guests had full drinks and plenty of food.

There is a reason that certain companies, like Hamby Catering, remain so successful over so many years. They provide the best service, the most professional staff and the highest quality food. I realize that Hamby Catering works many events, but they made our event (rehearsal dinner and party) beautiful and one that we will always remember as absolutely perfect. I will use them again and again! -

Cheral at Hamby was easy to work with during the whole process of planning our wedding. She quickly responded to any questions we had and helped us create a low country themed feast for our guests. The food was amazing, and many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The event staff kept everything looking nice during the reception. I cannot say enough how great this company and their food is. -

So being in Food and Beverage for over 15 years, catering was a big deal for my now husband. Rarely can we dine out without him mentioning a little thing here or there that would have made it worth the time and money. I must say, we were both blown away by Hamby. Not only was the food awesome (which is so easy to mess up in a buffet), but the servers were amazing. And Ryan, our rep, was fantastic. Like with all weddings, things are constantly changing and as a bride you feel like ripping your hair out. One conversation with Ryan and you no longer fear going bald. Rarely did he use the word no, and his quick thinking made major day of problems into even better solutions. Highly recommend them. -

This is the second time that Hamby Catering & Events catered a wedding for us - first for our son & daughter-in-law and now again for our daughter & son-in-law. In both instances everything was wonderful. Because of the service at the first wedding, we did not even want to consider another vendor for our daughter's wedding.
Both the food and the service was perfect. This was an outside wedding at a site that only had water and electrical hook-up. The challenge did not even cause them to bat an eye! The displays of food were beautiful and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it all. Several asked who did the catering.
We would definitely recommend Hamby to anyone!

Beautiful, delicious food and wonderful service. I had wedding guests compliment me on the shrimp salad sandwiches months after the wedding. And I love the caprese skewers. I could live off of them. -

We hired Hamby to cater our December wedding and could not have been more pleased. The food was extremely important to us, as we are huge foodies, and they took our food "dream" and made it a reality. They customized everything for what we wanted as well as offering additional suggestions which was a huge help. They truly thought of everything! The food was beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and the service staff was excellent. We could not have been more happy with how everything turned out. And they were even kind enough to pack us a HUGE basket of food to take with us which we happily ate in our honeymoon suite :) Megan, Candice, and Wes did an incredible job and we could not have had such an amazing day without their organized pre-planning and hard work. We would definitely recommend Hamby to anyone for our catering needs and cannot wait to eat some of their delicious food again! -

Since my daughter Aimee, nor myself are not from the Charleston or Lowland area, I needed a caterer that we could work with long distance. I did contact several other caterers in the area, but, NONE gave me the security of Hamby. From the very first phone call, I knew that I had contacted the perfect caterer that could give myself and my daughter "piece of mind". After reading many reviews, I asked for Ryan McKenzie...he could not have been more supportive and easy to work with. He was spot on with suggestions, ideas and great with answering questions, give feedback and quick to make call backs. The food selections were perfect as we were looking for a Southern style menu to compliment the style of wedding Aimee desired. Ryan suggested Sherry Ferguson as "a person of the day". Sherry was a dream come true...she knew right away what my daughter wanted for her day...and Sherry delivered. She worked hard for Aimee, and, it was exactly what Aimee had envisioned. I highly recommend Hamby and in particular Ryan for any event that you may be planning!

Our daughter was married on 9-28-13. We had Hamby Catering do the food and Ryan McKenzie was the person we dealt with all through the planning. Ryan was wonderful through the whole planning process. From the first day we met him until the day of the wedding. He always answered my calls and emails right away and gave wonderful suggestions on food and decor. We could not have asked for a better person to help us.
We knew we wanted Hamby's to do the food from the beginning because of their reputation. The food was wonderful and the decor they used to present the food was perfect for our outside wedding. People are still asking me who catered this event. The staff at the wedding were so helpful and professional. After the wedding you would have never known they were there.
Everything was perfect for our daughter's special day.

Hamby provided delicious, beautifully presented food for the reception. Our guests loved it! The service, including servers, bar staff, kitchen staff, was excellent. Our Hamby sales rep also functioned as the day of wedding planner and supervised everything for us on the day of the event, which meant no glitches for the bride or her parents to deal with on the big day. The timing and flow of the event was smooth and seamless. As part of the Design package our Hamby rep also assisted with choosing the florist, cake baker, transportation for wedding party, both DJ and ceremony musicians (string chamber music), and program designer. This made the whole process a lot easier from start to finish. We could not have been happier and would choose to work with Hamby and our sales rep on future occasions. -

We had a lowcountry wedding on September 1st and could not have been more pleased with Hamby's! Ryan is awesome, he helped us from day one all the way until the day of. The food was amazing and all of our guests raved about it and are still talking about it! The way they included our theme on their food tables was awesome as well, and they even packed us a to go basked for our room when we got back! All of our guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had and we surely feel that way too! And we all ate our weight in oysters! Thank you so much to Hamby's and Ryan for their wonderful job, and making our wedding one to remember! -

I can't say enough good things about Mrs. Hamby's.
My family has always used Hamby Catering for all of our catering needs, from graduation parties to special anniversaries. When I dove into wedding planning, it was a no-brainer that Hamby's was top of my list to approach.
Event producer Ryan McKenzie worked with us along the way to turn our vision into a flawless event. He gave me good leads during my vendor search, laid out our floor plan options for our venue, laid out rental options and ordered the rentals, helped me design the order of events based on what had worked in the past, and helped us design a very balance and delicious menu. Ryan also found me a phenomenal day-of assistant who made an enormous difference.
On the day-of, Ryan coordinated with all of the vendors to make sure everyone arrived on time and everything was in place. He supervised set-up and break-down, and was waiting by our car at the end of the night to hand us a picnic basket of goodies and champagne to take with us to our hotel.
As a planner and a producer, Ryan was outstanding.
Now the food and service. Oh my goodness.
Chef-attended shrimp and grits station. Vichyssoise and cucumber gazpacho shooters. Their Southern Butcher block. All of the above. The service was excellent. A waitress discreetly approached my husband and me during formal portraits and passed us some hors d'oeuvres when we had a break, recognizing that we probably wouldn't get to eat anything until the end.
Everyone had a great time. Lots of compliments on the food from guests. Hamby's rocks it again! -

Hamby's Catering was referred to me by my wedding coordinator. I worked closely with, Ryan McKenzie, who helped me plan my menu, bar, and the entire floor layout with rentals as well. Ryan was very professional and helpful. Planning a dinner for 160 people is not an easy task, but Ryan walked me through it easily. The food was amazing and just what we were looking for. We did food stations and the food was fresh! They have a wide variety of different options (sit down dinner, buffet, stations, etc...). Their pricing is very reasonable and the food is excellent quality. Their bar packages are even more affordable!!!! They arrived on time and will arrange the displays according to your theme. We had a lot of rustic decor, therefore the food stations had a lot of dark wooden bowels, wooden serving trays and milk crates. They did an excellent job on presentation. They also provide a departure basket for the bride and groom of to-go packages of all the food in addition to champagne! Ryan is also coordinated with Synder rentals and therefore, also took care of all of our rentals, which was a huge help because he knew exactly the number of glasses, forks, plates, etc... to order. You are in very good hands in you are working with Ryan McKenzie. Hamby's catering and Ryan McKenzie are exceptional to have as your caterers! -

The entire staff at Hamby Catering & Events are wonderful. When we decided to have a destination wedding, we were concerned with whom to contact; but Meghan and the entire staff were very professional and made sure that all of our needs and questions were taken care of. If I had a question or concern about who to contact for entertainment, officiant, etc., Meghan was there to help point us in the right direction. During our event, Amy also made sure that the kids had their meals. You will not go wrong with Hamby's Catering & Event! -

Our supper was the best I have ever had. The tenderlion was cooked perfectly for 75 people. You could cut it with a fork. The service was over the top!!! Hamby's was easy and comforting to work with. It could not have gone any better. -

What a wonderful experience to have Hamby's cater my daughter's wedding. Everyone in Charleston knows the great quality of Hamby's food, but the planning and service that goes along with it were exceptional. Ryan MacKenzie with Hamby's was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was even able to have a tent delivered unexpectedly 4 hours before the event started! I can not thank Ryan McKenzie of Hamby Catering enough for all the care and attention to detail that he gave our event. Ryan was always prompt to reply to any questions that we had and loves to think outside the box. His attention to detail is like no one I have ever worked with before. Being from out of state, we felt we needed to surround ourselves with the best and that is what we did when we chose them. We interviewed many people, but the minute I sat down with Ryan I knew we had found our perfect match.
The food was nothing short of amazing and the presentation was far above my expectations. Everyone on the staff that I worked with the night of the event was great. They all gave me 200% and made our event perfect! Nothing was left to chance and everything was well planned and thought out well in advance.
When the bride and groom walked in to see the room they were overjoyed and they both had tears in their eyes. It looked magical and was exactly what we were looking for. You made their night one they will never forget.
I can not find the right words to express my gratitude to Ryan and Hambys for providing us with the perfect evening and one the children will never forget. You are the best! -

This event was the rehearsal dinner and Megan, our coordinator, could not have been more helpful, pleasant, responsive and professional. Her calming manner soothed frazzled nerves and anxious customers. I especially appreciate her timely way of returning calls and emails. We were very pleased with the quality and the service. -

Hamby's was amazing! Not only was the food wonderful but the set-up was gorgeous! Our Event Coordinator, Cheral McCombs, somehow managed to make the SC aquarium, an already beautiful venue, even more beautiful! The food was delicious and and was exactly the southern style I was going for. I didn't get to try all the food because I was a little busy haha, but all the guests repeatedly complemented about how much they loved the food! Also, Cheral patiently answered all my questions, gave me advice and helped me choose my reception decor. And I have to admit, I went pretty overboard! But Cheral entertained all my ideas and answered all my emails. I highly recommend Hamby's and Cheral! -

Ask for Ryan!!! We worked with him and had such a great experience! No emails were left unanswered, no request was too small. He was very honest in his opinions, which was refreshing. Ryan did whatever he could to make our day as special as possible, and had wonderful suggestions that really made things run smoothly. The entire evening went off without a hitch, and we have gotten rave reviews on the food! Particularly the shrimp and grits - both from shrimp & grits officionados and foreigners that were in attendance who tried it for the first time! All of the staff were extremely helpful and really took care of my husband and me. We were asked multiple times if we needed any food, a refill on a drink, etc. Have recommended them to other brides planning their weddings in Charleston and will continue to! Amazing!!! -

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hamby. I had several experiences with their catering and knew that we would use Hamby for my daughter's wedding. I was so impressed with their flexibility in adding more ceremony chairs at the last minute. They showed up on time to set up for the reception catering and transformed the venue in less than 3 hours. The food was delicious and the display was something you would see in a magazine. They had a beautiful basket to go with the bride and groom and had our leftovers wrapped and ready for us to take after the ceremony. I was so pleased and so many guests had wonderful things to say as well. Would definitely use them again.
