Wedding gown preservation

I used Hallak Cleaners for my wedding gown preservation and they did not disappoint! My dress looks great and they were able to send me detailed pictures post-preservation to sign off before it went into the box. They were so accommodating with my schedule (unlike other places that only let you drop off/pick up on specific days/times) and they will ship your dress to you at the end! They were very responsive with all emails and I highly recommend! I would definitely use their services in the future.

Restoration of Vintage dress

Hallak Cleaners restored my mother’s 1957 gown beautifully and carefully, and then pressed it for the wedding. They were so careful with the delicate silk and lace fabrics. My daughter was just married in it, it looked perfect. Incredible, really. And - the original wearer, her 93 year old grandmother and namesake, was there to share the joy. Thank you so much Mr. Hallak and the fabulous bridal staff for using your skill to help make such a special thing possible.

Hallak Alterations

They were amazing at Hallak Cleaners. I got both my dresses altered for my wedding there and it was perfect. They were so helpful and nice. The price was reasonable compared to what I have heard others pay for wedding alterations. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Amazing service

Had an amazing experience with Hallak. They were responsive, professional, and did such a beautiful job with my dress. There were some tiny holes in the bottom my veil and they gave me an extra call to discuss that specifically. Super happy with their work - would recommend to every bride!

Beautiful restorative work

Hallak Cleaners cleaned and preserved both my daughter’s and my daughter-in-law’s gowns. Both gowns were quite dirty from running through a hay field and a winery. Their staff was always helpful, fastidious in their work and sent detailed reports of the work they did. Both gowns were returned in excellent condition. Worth every penny!

Redesigned my mother's wedding dress and it came out perfect

I wore my mother's wedding gown for my wedding, but I wanted to change the neckline from a high collar to a boat neck. I had extra fabric from my mother's veil, which was used to extend the neckline. I worked with Atisha at Hallack Cleaners and she was absolutely amazing!! I LOVED my dress! The dress was extremely comfortable, fitted correctly, and reinforced since the dress was 36 years old. I highly recommend going to Hallack Cleaners and working with Atisha. She was amazing!!

Outstanding

Hallak cleaners is like the Lamborghini of cleaners. You can trust them with your most prized possessions such as your wedding dress. They did an amazing job removing stains and storing it for me. They provided me with pictures and called me every step of the way to alert me of any issues. It was worth the price.

I am so glad I came across Hallak when I needed my wedding gown pressed. I looked online, several places came up near me (upper east side), and called a few but Hallak was the most reasonable in terms of price. The girl who handles bridal everything answered all of my questions, and was very helpful. Pressing my enormous gown took less than 3 days, as she explained, and delivery was prompt. The dress was expertly pressed and as promised, in a huge garment bag- all included in the price. Other places told me it was an extra few hundred to buy the garment bag.... I'm SO glad I went with Hallak, and will recommend it to anyone looking for their services. Expert work, prompt, quick, and reasonable price- they have it all.

Hallak NYC was great, and George made my dress exactly how I imagined it. The whole team was friendly, they were flexible with scheduling, and they were affordable. (I got quotes from two other places, and both were HUNDREDS of dollars more.) Very happy with the service at Hallak. Thank you!

I used Hallak Cleaners to alter my wedding gown for my May 12, 2018 wedding and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone needing alterations on their wedding dress! My gown was expertly altered from being too large to fitting like an absolute dream for my wedding. Hallak Cleaners was very easy to work with and delivered my gown to me before my big day. I had such a great experience with them that I used Hallak to clean and preserve my dress after the wedding. If you’re in the market for wedding dress alterations, definitely go with Hallak!

I brought in a sample dress I got from another store for them to make some minor fixes to. They were very nice and knew what they were doing. It was a bit expensive but that might just be my small budget talking. I would definitely recommend them.

Very professional dry cleaning service. We brought my daughters wedding gown, vails, and my son in laws tux.
They held on to the gown until they clean it best they can. And packaged it nicely. They took pictures of before and after. They specialize in Wedding gowns and suede and leather. Recommended them to a friend for her suede shirt and she was happy with their services as well. Will be using them again.

The team at Hallak did a great job preparing my wedding dress for my big day. They were recommended by Glamour Closet, where I bought my dress. They did a great job of hemming my dress and other small alterations. When I had to change my final fitting last minute, they were very accommodating to find me another appointment. The staff was polite and very supportive (I was trying to lose weight for my dress). Even though I didn't lose as much weight as I wanted, the dress looked amazing on me thanks to their great work! Highly recommend Hallak's -- everything about my bridal fitting, tailoring, and pressing experience was fantastic!!! The Hallak's staff clearly knows what they are doing, and everyone is so efficient, friendly, and accommodating. Hallak's made everything so easy and stress-free, and thanks to them, my dress fit like a glove! I took my wedding dress to the 2nd avenue location for alterations based on a recommendation from where I bought the dress (Glamour Closet). Hallak has a deal set up with them, a flat fee for all alterations and the bustle. My dress was a size 14 when I brought it in (I'm a size 6, usually) and has very intricate beading on the top. I was slightly concerned about the amount of material that needed to be taken in, but Hallak handled it beautifully. There was a make up stain on a layer of chiffon, and they got it out on my first fitting. I got so many compliments on my dress, I can't recommend Hallak enough!

George did an amazing job on my dress and everyone at Hallak were so incredibly nice and helpful. They weren't very up front with their prices over the phone which I really appreciated compared to other places who wanted me to drag my dress around everywhere before they'd even give me any information. George, Hallak's tailor, was incredible! I bought a designer sample sale dress that had a very intricate & delicate lace pattern all over and he went above and beyond to ensure that every single individual flower was in the right place and made as many alterations as we requested. I was incredibly nervous to have the dress altered in anyway and he was a great listener and gave great advice- I was thrilled with the outcome!

They did an amazing job! The woman who worked on my two dresses (one ceremony gown and the other was a reception dress) was great to work with. She appeared to be very seasoned and knew her stuff. The second dress was a long gown shortened to a cocktail dress and fit wonderfully. And she was able to do the shortening in a relatively short period of time. They also were able to get dirt off my ceremony dress that I didn't really think they would have been able to do.

They are a bit pricey but if you don't mind the prices it was worth the money. You get what you pay for.

The staff was friendly and professional. I was pleased with how the tailoring and bustle of my dress turned out. I would highly recommend this place. They were able to think on their feet and come up with a solution for a difficult bustle that I was happy with.

Hallak cleaners did a wonderful job cleaning and preserving my wedding gown and veil. My experience with Keri, Donna and their staff was FANTASTIC. Donna responded promptly to my email, and Keri is so knowledgeable. She explained to me that all the stains may not come out and that they will do their best! My gown had chocolate, and the train was black from everyone stepping on it. Well guess what? They were able remover all the stains out. They were so quick. They went over every single detail of the dress. If you want it to be done right go with Hallak. They are excellent and friendly customer service. I highly recommend Hallak!

My new husband managed to spill red wine on the back of my dress during the reception, this was on top of the usual dirt that accumulates on a dress during an outdoor ceremony! So I needed a really good cleaning service! Having done my research I decided the cost and long drive to Hallak Cleaners was likely to be worth it and I wasn't disappointed. I am not exaggerating when I say that my dress looks as good as new. . I had bought my wedding gown at a bridal store in Manhattan but they were fully booked for alterations so, I had to find a good place on my own. It took me a bit to find a place that wasn't too expensive and that I could trust to do a good job. I went online and read reviews of different cleaners/alterations businesses. But when I would call, they'd tell me there was either not enough time or wouldn't give me an estimate of the price because they wanted to see the gown in person. All I needed to do was hem the dress about 1 inch & add a button to the back to hold up the train. (Which was a small train)
When I called Hallak Cleaners for an estimate, they asked me a couple of questions about the fabric, length to be cut off & length of train, then right away gave me a good quote.
As soon as I walked in to Hallak in NJ, Anjel greeted my mom and me. She was extremely sweet and super helpful both the first day I went and also for the fitting. She had me try on the dress with my shoes, and right away said that everything fit perfect and I only needed to hem it a little bit. (Also gave a couple of compliments which made me feel good) :) When I asked her for the cost, she told me the exact same amount as the customer service representative gave me over the phone! Which was great because I was hoping it wouldn't be too far off of the quote I was given. When I went back for the fitting, I tried on the dress & it was perfect! Anjel was also super sweet to my mom who sews, but it not an expert yet. She gave my mom a few tips on types of buttons, threads, and on sewing.
Overall, I had a great experience. I didn't feel pressured to spend a lot of money, which a lot of wedding vendors do. The service was excellent. The price for the hemming was reasonable & I do want to go back to preserve my dress!

It was so quick and easy. I didn't want to pay Kleinfeld's exorbitant fee when I just had a little dirt on the bottom of my dress. Hallak was a dream.

I just brought over my dress, they assessed it, took it for cleaning, and even repaired my torn veil for no extra charge. Then it was delivered to me in fantastic condition!

Hallak did a wonderful job of restoring and preserving my 37 year old wedding gown.
Stains and discoloration from years of neglect were miraculously removed with no harm to my dress at all.
Restored and preserved to their original beauty my 37 year old wedding gown and cathedral veil can one day be worn by my youngest daughter as a spotless heirloom piece.

I live in New Jersey, and my niece is getting married this weekend. Last Thursday I found a dress in a high-end department store that I absolutely LOVED. But they didn't have the dress in my size and the store couldn't help me find the size that I needed. I came home and googled the designer and found that the designer is carried by Terry Costa.com. I called the store and spoke with Natasha, who couldn't have been more solicitous and efficient. Terry Costa did not have my size in stock, but Natasha called the designer and had the dress to me in less than 3 business days! They even called me this afternoon to follow up and say that they had spoken with the designer and that I should expect the dress to arrive today. It arrived in perfect condition, for a fair price, and fit perfectly! I couldn't have asked for better service. I know what size I fit in for this designer's dresses, and I will definitely shop Terry Costa again. Thank you Natasha!

Hallak did an amazing job on my wedding dress. I bought a dress off the rack, so it needed a lot of taking in. They had to take the beadwork off, take in the dress, and reapply the beadwork, and they did an amazing job! In addition, they delivered the dress to my hotel the day of the wedding -- I never had to worry about it. My husband had his tux altered there as well, and it looked wonderful. I cannot recommend Hallak enough!

Fantastic. I was at about to drop my dress off at another company and someone working there said for the magnitude of work that needed to be done to clean my dress BEFORE the wedding, Hallak would be best. She was right. They worked with my tight schedule and cleaned my complicated, delicate Vera Wang dress in record time. The dress was previously worn and a mess - dirty, stained... it came back pristine. My dressmaker was shocked at how amazing the dress looked. After my wedding I will bring the dress back to have Hallak preserve it. Highly, highly recommend. PS - Hallak is 45 minutes from my house but worth every minute in the car to get there!

The staff at the Hackensack location are wonderful!!! The seamstress, Kymet, did a beautiful job with my wedding dress! I've never felt more gorgeous! She listened to my concerns and her amazing skills and professionalism resulted in a perfectly fitted gown! Laura and Marc at the front desk were always pleasant, kind, polite, and very helpful! My preserved wedding gown came nicely wrapped in a lovely box and instructions on how to handle the gown. I plan on continuing to go to them for all my dry cleaning needs!

I brought my dress in to be cleaned and preserved a week after my
wedding in July. Donna and everyone at Hallak was so wonderful. My
dress and veil arrived 3 weeks later (the dress was finished earlier but
we were on our honeymoon) and it was beautifully cleaned and preserved.

They cleaned and preserved my wedding gown and veil. In addition we took in my 30 year old christening gown which had been worn by me and my younger sister. The christening gown has never looked better and is ready for any future kids. They took a dress that was discolored an yellowing and brought it back to white. My wedding gown looks great as well and they repaired a couple of the crystals that were falling off. I didn't get my gown cleaned until 2 years later so I was impressed.

Living 2000 miles from your wedding location can be daunting. The logistics of getting the dress from California to NY the week of the wedding , with a week stay in NJ gave me a headache. I asked around and several leading dress shops recommended Hallak, and I am so glad I selected them.

They are complete professionals and handled every aspect of shipping, pressing and preserving my dress. Donna coordinated with the concierge at the my hotel, and I arrived at my hotel suite to find the dress pressed to perfection. Their day of emergency kit truly useful.

After the wedding I returned the dress to them for preservation and everything was beautifully done.

It was such a relief to be able to depend on them, and to know that I did not have to worry about the dress at all.

One of the best decisions I made.

If you don't bring your wedding dress to Hallak, it will for sure will be ruined! I had a problem with a bustle they created for me, but they fixed it no charge! YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP IF SOMETHING IS WRONG! They don't have ESP and cannot tell if something is wrong with what they did for you. I was reading the other review about them and how she said they were horrible, I bet she never called them cause I bet they would have done something for her for free! My friend had her dress done by the corner cleaner and it yellowed in less then a year because of the plastic window or something. Hallak took it in, fixed it up, and now my friend and I are still customers for our better clothing. These guys are the best at what they do and I recommend them to everyone everywhere!

George made me feel like the most beautiful bride at each fitting. He was so diligent and helpful and worked hard to make sure my dress details were all taken care of. I really valued his attention to every little thing (piece of tulle) and his expert feedback on my accessories. The overall team there is so kind and friendly. I enjoyed my experience here!

Hallak was fantastic. They worked with me on multiple fittings with a delicate beaded dress. They made sure I got what I wanted, but were also realistic about the dress's limitations. They were fantastic about working with me, even with my busy work schedule.

Hallak Cleaners is a life-saver! I had a huge issue with alterations for my wedding dress which I bought from a well-known retailer. I was basically insulted due to my body shape and told my dress could not be altered the way I wanted it to be at this other retail shop in Manhattan. I took my dress to Hallak with 2 weeks left until my wedding. They were very professional, respectful, attentive and finished my dress in a timely manner. The staff there was great. They listened to my needs and totally delivered. My dress was fit perfectly! Thank you so much!

Donna was beyond amazing in helping me get my sample gown cleaned before the big day. When I went to pick up the gown, the associate who helped me (can't remember his name) made sure I hailed a taxi before he carried the dress outside to lay it carefully over the seat. My sales lady recommended Hallak Cleaners to clean my $7000 Lanvin wedding dress after the wedding and I'm so glad she did! They did a fabulous job removing the tea stain and my wedding looks brand new again. The service is excellent, starting from in-store drop off to the phone, then email correspondence and then final drop off at my apt. My wedding dress came back in a beautiful, museum-quality, preservation box, along with gloves and care instructions. It was worth every penny and I highly recommend Hallak to clean your most precious garments.

Great to work with!

Was recommended Hallak by BHLDN where I got my dress and it was a great choice. I have a simple dress that shows every lump or bump and they did a great job with the subtleties of bringing some sections in while letting others out. The result is form fitting but never tight. Loved working with them, the tailor was very sweet and helpful.

Beautiful beyond words.

To best describe my experience with Hallak cleaners in one word be excellent. They were polite, respectful and helpful. During one of my fitting, ok one bride had two dresses and went over. They continuously provided updates, brought us chairs and repeatedly apologized for the inconvenience.

The only reason I gave 'value' a 4 is because I probably could have had this work done for less, however there were such great reviews of Hallak, I was partly paying for peace of mind. It was very nice to have free shipping of my dress so I didn't have to go back and pick it up.

My experience with George the tailor was great! He took a dress that had so much intricate and delicate beading and made it into my dream dress! He listened to every single thing I asked of him and although it took a few extra fittings it was so perfect in the end! They even went above and beyond in the end when they forgot a few of the removed pieces of my dress. They shipped them up to my wedding location. My only advice is to make sure and speak up about any alteration you want! George will support any look you are going for, but you have to make sure and ask for what you want. I have zero regrets about choosing them! They care about the service they do and I feel the price i paid was well worth all the work they put into the dress!

I used Hallak Cleaners to do all of my wedding dress alterations and they did an amazing job. When I first purchased my dress because I was larger in the hips than anywhere else I had to purchase a dress two sizes larger and I was nervous, that no one would be able to alter it and make it fit the way I really wanted it to because, the dress had so much lace and embroidery. However, the staff at Hallak proved me wrong, they altered my dress and made it fit perfectly without damaging any of the embroidery. They were flexible and delivered my dress right to my hotel room. They were very kind and courteous at the 2nd Avenue location in the city and they were reasonably priced for the tough alterations they had to do. Thank you to the staff at Hallak for making sure my dressed looked amazing for my wedding day.

Hallak is the best couture cleaning dress specialist in NYC!

The staff are super friendly and very reassuring. I tried to steam my own wedding dress and it went horribly wrong. I scorched my dress the day before the wedding and decided at that point that I needed to Hallak to put it right.

I rang up Hallak and explained the situation. They were answered all my questions and were very patient with me. They told me to bring my dress in and within a couple of hours they had it nicely pressed. They made sure that ‘scorched’ bit on my dress wasn’t on show. It turned out I didn’t actually scorched it but the steamer had stained the dress. It helped that the dress was a real dark purple colour and it had a lot of frills in it.

My dress wad absolutely amazing once it was pressed, couldn’t have asked for more. The top half of my dress was beaded and no beads where missing. Everything was just perfect with this company. I would strongly recommend them. The lovely SA even helped me get a taxi at 4 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon when the change happens.

It's just a shame that it isn’t in the UK. I would be using them all the time knowing my clothes are in safe hand. The customer service in this place is beyond impeccable.

Hallak cleaned my wedding dress after another dry cleaner had failed to get the mud out of the hem. The dress looked brighter, cleaner and much better after its stint at Hallak Cleaners, and Donna Serrino, who I was in touch with throughout the process, was extremely responsive (I had all sorts of questions about storage) and helpful. Very recommended!

Very professional and helpful. Willing to be flexible in service to accommodate for my mistakes. Unfortunately, my price was very high for a lightly soiled dress, but I waited several years before getting it cleaned, leaving set-in stains, so that is my own fault. The website gave me the idea that the dress would be displayable (they have a picture of a dress in a presentation box), but the instructions recommend I keep the dress stored in a dark, dry place all the time. It would also be helpful to have some form of delivery service or shipping to the store for those from further away. I drove two hours to drop off my dress. They do, however, have return shipping for free.
